Amazing! Really tasty food, nice design of the place and all positive. I must say though, the service here is what's outstanding! The waiters are really taking care of you and I couldn't imagine them doing any more better job. Seriously I don't know what money are the waiters on but no matter what they deserve a rise, I don't think I ever felt so much taken care of in such a professional way in a restaurant. Staff very attentive, but not too much, just perfect, really good memory, very friendly and funny. Also getting some free shots and chocolates at the end is a nice touch. Been there more than once already and every time it was a perfect experience, I 100% recommend!

First time coming here with my boyfriend and will definitely be coming back. The food was amazing as well as the cocktails and staff. Must have noticed we were on a date and laid out rose petals on our table and had a guy with a guitar singing for everyone. Was such a good atmosphere and definitely worth the money. Plenty of veggie options for myself and wasn’t left waiting a long time for our food and drinks. Probably the best date night we’ve had together. :)

1st time visited went to celebrate my birthday, our son had been previous to this. From start to finish the service was great, attention to detail was perfect. The food was worth every penny, the waiter was so helpful with everything, always there, service spot on food was hot and plentiful and didnt have to wait long. Had a birthday chorus plus guitar to end the meal off perfectly. You wont be disappointed, book it.

Lovely place, nice food and attentive staff in a lovely atmosphere. Disappointed to see the cheeky monkeys had added a 'service charge' to my bill !! Should have paid attention as I could have 'opted out'. Obviously enjoyed myself (and I was designated driver as it was hubby's birthday) I prefer to make my own contribution not be 'tricked' into it. Having had a lovely evening, I would have 'tipped' anyway, but, 6.5% of the bill..... be aware.. !! We will go back, but will be more aware.

Lovely place, nice atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. The starters were excellent, good portion sizes and tasted amazing. Unfortunately it all went downhill from there. When they brought out the mains they got my meal completely wrong, they did replace the meal without any argument but when they brought the replacement they didn't replace the cutlery. This lead to me having to chase the waitress again and request a knife and fork to eat my meal with. Lastly, we recieved the bill which was close to £100 for just the 2 of us which included a service charge for £10 which I thought was ridiculous and very rude to presume we'd pay given our experience. This completely ruined our experience of what was a lovely restaurant and will probably result in us never visiting there again.

We ate at La Rustica a few days ago and were delighted with the experience. There were 13 of us, but despite the party size, service was efficient, very friendly and fun. Everyone's meals were great - honestly much better than I had expected - and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes very good Italian food served in a fun, authentic atmosphere.

We are from Wolverhampton and staying in Doncaster for the races and a gig afterwards. Our daughter told us about La Rustica and how good it was so we booked in for a Friday night meal. What a fabulous restaurant this is. We were sat downstairs in what I would describe as a bit like the cavern, it was really happening down here with a really good busy atmosphere, we were offered to sit upstairs though if it was too lively for us. The staff throughout were attentive and friendly with some genuinely lovely touches from extra bread with a starter to being serenaded before our main course. The food itself was devine, my starter of mushrooms with bacon and onion with cheese was gorgeous and my pizza was light flavoursome and got devoured, have to say that my wife's sea bass was the dish of the night, she said the prawns in it were some of the best she'd ever had. It was my birthday this week and I got a Happy Birthday song from about 10 of the staff, which was fun too. All in all great atmosphere and backed up with tremendous food and top staff.

La Rustica is a fantastic reflection of how up and coming Doncaster is as a dining destination and as a great place in general. We saw the rave reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go for lunch and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent, the waiting staff were attentive and the atmosphere in the main basement/cellar dining area was cosy and authentic. It looks unassuming from the outside but is lovely and spacious inside. We will definitely be making this a regular restaurant of ours as we love Italian food having been to Italy many times. Highly recommended.

We were taken to our table that we'd booked and it was clear it was busy... And it was a Saturday night! The waiter, who I assume was the manager? Was very friendly and enthusiastic! Drinks were great. We were alerted to there being a wait on food as it was busy but this wasn't an issue as there was 6 of us. They brought out a small bread board while we waited. Our main dishes were delicious and big portions! We had dessert too which was served quickly and offered free shots, which I assume was for the wait for food. Really good time. Would recommend and will be revisiting!!

prawn starter lovely . My main - lamb was cooked perfect .The only thing i would of changed was the veg they covered it in red chillies and lots of oil and it was to over powering with the main for me . Other half had pasta he was a little disappoint as their wasnt much meat in for the price of the dish i did try some and thought it was rather bland and pasta didn't seam cooked enough :( All staff where very helpful and polite we really enjoyed our night out .We will go again and try something different off the menu

What a great restaurant. Celebrated my 79th birthday here with my family. Wonderful Italian menu; from starters to desserts. Extensive drinks menu to compliment the food choice. The service, the welcome and attention to customer needs was obviously of paramount importance to the staff and restaurant. If the request is for Italian food this will be my restaurant of choice. A mixture of good and bad. Considering advice given re Covid the downstairs cellar eating area really needs investment in ventilation. Extremely hot stuffy and no air flow ,getting worse as evening continued... However the food was beautifully made. The cocktails would be better if they were offered with more mixer in a tall glass. The daiquiri was highlighted by staff as a tall glass cocktail when I enquired. Perhaps the Open table App could offer the option of choosing upstairs or downstairs seating in this restaurant as I wouldn't eat here again unless seated in a ventilated area .We were desperate to get outside into the fresh air even before we'd finished our meal. Goodness knows how the staff manage in this airless environment?

This was my first visit to the restaurant, it looks small from the outside but it as a cellar area which is huge! Good menu and selection of meals, there is a set menu deal as well that is great value for money. 2 bars for drinks one upstairs and 1 in the cellar. Small drink selection but a good wine list as well. Staff were polite and friendly, the food cane within a good amount of time and there was 28 of us! The food was amazing and I couldn't fault anything. Overall a great night!

A lovely place to eat. A bit of a throwback in these days but that's what I was looking for. Don't ask why I was eating chips in an Italian but I was and I am glad as they were wonderful (so good in fact I was restricted to only 8 on my plate which was a downside) probably could loose the owner prowling about, bit offputting, but it's all about the food and that was good.....oh fresh parmesan as well please not cheese dust.

Utterly superb. We turned up a little before opening and as the weather was miserable the owner let us in early. Gorgeous food, Dad had the Seafood Linguine with all ingredients sourced from the local market. Mum and I shared a Penne Siciliana (with aubergine sauce) and the cheesiest, meatiest Lasagne I have ever had. Great conversation with the owner about dish development and where to buy ingredients. Will definitely be returning and also trying their other restaurant, La Fiesta.

The food was amazing especially bruschetta starter, my wife loved it. In main course we had veg & chicken pizza and grilled chicken with chips for kids. In desserts, we had double chocolate fudge cake. We ordered just one portion but it was more than enough for us two. Kids had vanilla ice cream with strawberry toppings which they absolutely loved. It has a cavernous basement with intimate nooks as well as space for large groups. Newly opened but not finished yet. The staircase urgently needs a hand rail as it is dangerous without. Not keen on new décor but might look better when finished. The service and food were first class, given that this was the opening night and it was very busy. The requested wine was not available and clearly need correctly stocking. New menu is much smaller than before but still a good range of choices. It was cold and draughty last night, this needs attention if diners are to feel comfortable.
