We hadn’t been here for a while as unfortunately our last visit to Basil the service was really poor however, wanted to try again as under new management. Food was delicious (same chef) and staff were lovely. Would recommend!

First time we have been but here after reading the amazing reviews, thought we'd give it a try. Service and food did not disappoint, massive portions and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Wow! What a taste sensation! A lovely chilled out atmosphere with no rush. Polite, attentive team, what a breath of fresh air from what has become the norm with eating out nowadays. We will have to go back to try all the tempting delights on their menu! My meal was so delicious but my husbands was equally so! Definitely going back with our friends and family. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Sensational restruant, I can't believe we have never eaten here before. If I could I would give it 6 stars. Fantastic value for money! Everything was great. Staff were very friendly, helpfully and efficient. Table was spacious and well presented. Restruant was comfortable, very clean, warm and nicely decorated. The food was amazing and mean every dish we had. Our 3 starters and 2 mains were all top notch. The Nan bread and mushroom rice were the best I've ever tried. I've never been excited about rice before......you could eat it on its own as a meal!

Absolutely fantastic Indian! Food was delicious and totally freshly cooked and the flavours were fantastic. service was on point and staff were lovely and friendly. Portion size was just perfect. Good food but unhappy with the portion sizes delivered. I won't be ordering again. Edit : Response to owner : Yes. I left reviews to all the great and not so great shops all at once, no big investigation to do here. As I already said, your food was good but your portion sizes were tiny. Take the suggestion in a good stride or you can experiment losing some of your take away business.

Another superb meal from Basil last night. Although they dropped the ball with their delivery service having to wait well over an hour and half, after a few chase up calls we finally received meal. They gave me a full refund in cash and an apology so I can’t argue with that! Well done to Basil from a happy customer again!

Great food but very very expensive takeaway and you get absolutely zero side dishes such as spiced onions, chutney or Papadams unless you pay extra. Even with a £60.00 order.

My wife and I have visited a couple of times and I must say this is the best curry I've had outside India and that is only because they can't replicate the beach sun and cold beer (not really their fault). I always order off the southern Indian menu and irrespective of if I have the chicken, lamb or fish the food is amazing. I have no worries about recommending this place.

First visit last night and all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Service was good and at no point were we rushed even though 2 of our party were a bit late. Beer and wine good too. This is the best curry I have had in years and certainly in Dunfermline. Great to have a fantastic local go to Indian again. We will be back!

We were 2 tourists who wanted a take away, we went to right place. While waiting for our order we had a nice chat with one employee. Our food was quickly ready. Once at our place we really enjoyed the food, the lamb was absolutely lovely and so much of it. We really had a nice dinner and would recomend it to anyone !! Thank you

Great wee local Indian restaurant. Good sized portions and none of this humongous platefuls where most of it is binned. The thing is about this restaurant is when you order a dish your favourite dish the next time you go that is that dish will be exactly the same as when you ordered it last. The chefs are very consistent with flavours. Nice beer and good service

We booked a table for a meal on the evening of Sunday 26th of May, after travelling up from Scarborough to attend the Scottish Italian car show at Hopetoun House earlier in the day. They were apparently short staffed and it was very busy. Regardless we were promptly seated and the service was spot on. The food was absolutely delicious as well. It's a real pleasure to eat Indian food that is prepared with as much skill and care as it is in this restaurant. Highly recommended!

A Dunfermline gem - highly tasty Southern Indian-style food. Idli chaat makes for an excellent starter. Main course hits include kuttanadan, chasni and chattinad. Highly recommended food.

Ram the owner is great. Service is quick and efficient. Indian food that is excellent in a nice atmospheric restaurant. Can get very warm when busy so try not sit next to a radiator. Keep going back so what does that say?

Excellent experience Was at Basil Indian Restaurant on Saturday for lunch and we were very impressed . The food was excellent and the pilau rice and nan were to die for. First time visiting Basil and couldn't have been more impressed, lovely decor, bright and airy and the booths give you a a nice private space to enjoy each others company. Instant attentive service. Now as others have said we are not short on very good Indian restaurants in Dunfermline but I personally found that Basil's food stood out from the rest, I enjoyed every mouthful, exceptional. Can't wait to go back.

Dear staff & customers I don't say this Lightly........I have eaten from 100s of different takeaway's, restaurants, home's etc as I'm sure you'll have done also But Never have I tasted Amazing food so fresh,tasty & well prepared even down to the proper hot food packaging.Me & the Mrs absolutely loved the service you & your staff delivered to us promptly on a very busy night down in Leishman Drive.Also we ordered a set meal for 1 that served 3 generous adults size portions. Our order - Chicken pakora = best Ever Chicken pasander=Amazingly fresh Pilau rice = made 2 perfection 2x garlic chipattis=perfect recipe Also even the spice onions aswell as the pakora sauce was like nothing we have ever tasted OMG SO on that note we both think the chef,owner & staff deserve the credit for such a great experience. This is definitely our place of choice from now on Thanku All🤩

I had a takeaway tonight and it reminded me the Ashiqs glory day's a few years ago. Best nann bread I've had in ages, perfect thickness with lovely fresh garlic and coriander with butter. South Indian garlic chili chicken was really tasty, lovely flavour and right amount of heat. Pakora was cracking as well. Excellent all-round! Thanks

Christmas night out. Food very good but atmosphere not very Christmassy. No tablecloths or mats.Trashy decorations. Not enough crackers for group and squeezed into bench seats. Very noisy...not the restaurant's fault but just did not find it pleasant at all

Great food, Ram is the owner of Ashiqs aswell as this new restaurant. Food is presented on par with Kushis but in my opinion much tastier not to mention first class service from Ram and his staff. So good I visit weekly 😁
