Really lovely food here. Lots of choice. Sweet and sour was gorgeous. They did forget one dish, so we had to chase. But apart from that no issues at all. Authentic Chinese, made freshly and came out piping hot. Would definitely go again.

This is an authentic Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious, and the portions enormous. The staff were so kind, too, providing extra napkins, sauces, and take out boxes. It was also excellent value, as a family of five, we all ate extremely well for circa £100 including drinks…. And we have leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch, as well.

A fantastic restaurant with a menu offering dishes you wont often find in a uk restaurant. My only complaint was that they gave my wife the wrong duck dish, otherwise it would have been a full 5 stars. All the food was delicious and the staff really polite.

I took my family here for my daughters 17th birthday as she likes Chinese food. The food was nice and tasty but wouldn't go back as to sit in and spend £120 in what is predominantly a take away buy the looks of it.very small place .not a good ambience unfortunately. staff where friendly but had to order online to eat in.not great experience

Mostly enjoyed the food from here. (ordering via just eat, for delivery). Usually get something chicken based. The foods a lot 'drier' than other Chinese takeaways, which I've never minded, but the crispy beef I tried today was just too dry. Didn't taste like anything other than fried batter - was overly fried that the beef had become none exsitance. Trying to pick it up it just snapped and turned to crumbs. Not a dish I'll be ordering again. I'll stick with the chicken ones.

Highly recommended. I think (and I'm no expert) that it's Shanghai-based food (lots of buns on the menu). Properly cooked, properly served and a menu that uses pictures to show unfamiliar customers what the dishes are like.

Very authentic proper Chinese food. Some is very spicy, but it's all is very nice (as long as you like the things like tripe in some of the dishes). Menu translations aren't great so bring a native Chinese speaker! Service was good. It does get very busy though so book in advance or go early.

56 is one of the very best and authentic Chinese restaurants in whole of the county. It neals are freshly prepared and staff are mostly nice with our group whenever we visit. Today was the first time since lockdown restrictions ease that we visited and the food is still great 👍

Great restaurant. The food is tasty and it seems like real deal. Many people from China seem to approve it. The spices they use can really numb your tongue and make the water taste weird. Delicious, will definitely come back
