Amazing food full of flavour. Naan bread was fresh out of the over and had a lovely crisp to it. Best curry I've had in a long time. Our waiter was Ro (?sp), and he was also fantastic.

EDIT: Waiters quite pushy, eg request for tap water answered with just bringing the menu again. Despite we ordered some lassi before that made us thirsty Awesome food. All was really really good - I will definitely come back.

Outstanding meal - really full of flavour and excellently prepared. Highly recommend the King Prawn Balti. Will definitely be coming here again. Very clean and attentive service. Toilets were pristine! Invited to use hand sanitiser on arrival, which is an indicator of how seriously they take hygiene.

Ceiling fans were annoying made 1 of us cold. Onion barges not as nice as in Sheffield and had to pay extra for pickle tray no onion salad as we know it and the raita was like sago pudding Give me our home restaurant anyway Disappointing as it was a birthday celebration . Expensive too half as dear again as we usually pay. Didn't mind paying if it was better as it's expected in London and Edinburgh etc

Ordered meals for home delivery for guests (a group of 5). Website is a bit difficult to use as the page keeps refreshing. However, it promised a delivery at certain time and it arrived dot at that time. Meals were packed good, food was still hot, it tasted very nice. Good portion size. We enjoyed the meal at home.

Very welcoming: attentive service; food very tasty. Four of us. The dishes that really stood out for us were Murgh Chatt and Tandoori Mixed Grill (huge helping!) but other dishes were good. After these we were too full for dessert. Salty Lassi was excellent. A very pleasant evening. We'll happily return.

After being recommended by a friend to do so, my wife and I visited the Bonoful restaurant in Portobello last night. We were very glad that we did as the service was impeccable from start to finish, including personal recommendations on what dishes to eat from the Restaurant Manager. We were glad of the help in choosing, as my wife and I both agreed that the food was without doubt among the best Indian / Bangladeshi Cuisine that we have ever sampled. Fresh tasting sauces, and melt in the mouth meat, all topped off with amazing flavour. They also have a great drinks and wine selection. We will definitely be back, and would urge anyone else to visit too, so that they can taste the amazing food that the Bonoful has to offer.

The food is great, but the service was very grumpy. We booked a table for 8 people at 5.45pm - four adults, four kids. The waiter was not happy to see the kids, and made us feel bad about not ordering enough drink (we had four beers and tap water) or food. In fact we he had 5 mains, 2 side dishes, 3 starters, 3 rice and 3 nan - after we ordered that, he said, rudely, 'and for the children?' As if he thought that was just enough for the adults. He scowled at us throughout the meal -we all felt very tense. Not a child friendly place.

I was warmly greeted with a glowing smile when I entered the restaurant. I opted for the Chicken Silsilay and what a great choice this was! The dish was bursting with flavour and the chicken was succulent and tender. The naan was perfectly cooked and a perfect tool for cleaning out the delicious sauce. The staff were attentive and made my experience very pleasant. I am glad about giving the place a shot and would highly recommend to anyone who loves fresh, full of flavour food and a warm service. Definitely will visit again. Thanks again, from a very happy customer!

Best home delivery curry in Edinburgh currently. We love this place and evening though it’s a couple of miles from our place we order take away from here whenever we fancy a curry. Yes you might have to wait a bit longer on delivery but the food is really very good and worth it.

I walked past here a few weeks ago as a couple were leaving I could hear them raving to each other about how much they enjoyed the food with that in mind I ordered a takeaway last night a Chicken,Lamb and king prawn byriani with a garlic nan .. It was out standing ! It arrived quickly and packaged well. One of the best byrianis I've ever had and I've tried most places .. Highly recommend this restaurant I'll be ordering again for sure .

Used to be the case you only got the take-away as the sit-in portions were half the size.Then a couple of years ago they started using smaller Chinese take-away sized containers but charged the same money.Which as you can guess wasn't terribly popular.Now they've returned to full size containers, but the price has increased proportionality too.Don't get me wrong - the food tastes great, the best Indian food for miles, but their pricing is ridiculous, (Don't get me started on their new trick of leaving bottles of water on the table, which appear gratis, until you spot them on the bill!)
