Reviews of Bread Meats Bread

Got on Uber eats and it was too effing good. Hands down best chicken burger I have ever had. The buffalo fries, which I’m munching right now, are divine. The cheese on them >>>>. My friend had the Sunshine On Beef and loved it. What more can one say, just great food.
N.
Brilliant selection of burgers, all delicious. The poutine and fries are an absolute treat and good range of drinks/milkshakes too. The place is on the small side so you may occasionally have to wait outside or sit at their side tables. Perfect place for a get together/catch up with friends and family! Been here numerous times and the food has been consistently great. 🍔
P. C.
Good selection of interesting burger combos. The salt beef was delicious but slightly overshadowed the beef. Poutine was excellent with rich gravy and tasty cheese curds. Our server was delightfully efficient and friendly
S. D.
Great food, great atmosphere and a very tasty house beer. I can highly recommend you starve yourself before you go here or get food from here as the food will put you into a lovely food coma. Would love to see this place in London as I think the menu would do extremely well as it is unique
E. F.
Amazing place, friendly staff and good food. I arrived without reservation and luckily I got one table. Me and my wife ordered one Jug of beer house for share, Pastrami sandwich, Brisket sandwich and taters tots for share. Everything was delicious and well served. To finish the night we ordered an extra half pint and the total was 40 pounds.

Really nice atmosphere and the food was real yummy. Had the Luther Burger and the beef was tender. Loved the Mayo and surprisingly, the combination of sweet and savoury worked! The Oreo milkshake was more of chocolate with Oreo bits inside but still tasty.
R. M.
Great for vegetarians as well as meat eaters and adventurous diners.
We loved Bread Meats Bread. The atmosphere was buzzing, the staff were absolutely lovely. I had a veggie burger which was delicious and didn’t feel like it was added as an afterthought to the menu, as it often does. In fact, the vegetarian selection was really impressive. They were also more than happy to alter my burger from a vegan option to just vegetarian (with normal cheese etc).
For the more adventurous diner, there was the Luther burger (served in a glazed doughnut) which my husband chose. He described this as interesting and, although unusual, tasty. Not something for every day, but for an unique dining experience, definitely worth a try.
The milkshakes we had for pudding were exceptional. I’d say this is a must visit restaurant on any trip to Edinburgh.

Stopped here on a walk around town, after stalking their Instagram. The food was very tasty, quick service and plenty of room.
Highly recommend the fried chicken wings, they are to die for. My partner had one of their grilled sandwiches and said it was delicious! We also had poutine, which was really nice, but the balls of cheese aren't for me!
P. H.
We revisited this place after going two years ago. Staff were really friendly, the poutine was fantastic. The grilled sandwich in brioche toast was a bit too greasy though. Wouldn't order that again but would go back for the poutine.

If only there was one in Belfast.... The pulled pork, and Reuben sandwiches can only be described as unbelievable. Been lucky enough to try various menu items and never ever disappointed. Love this place, having been to the one in Glasgow several times. Good beer selection too, as well as a few cocktails. Would challenge anyone who likes food not to enjoy this.

The best I have had, the service and hygiene was second to non, everything had been sanatised before sitting down and staff was very happy to help and make our visit the best it could be. I had a cheese burger which was amazing cooked to the highest standard, the other meal in my party of 3, was also a burger with pulled pork which I tried and it was delicious. The price was great, not over the top, we also left a nice tip for our server, big shout out to him, black guy with black shortish dreads with blonde tips. Amazing all round, I will definitely be returning another time. Very happy with everything. 👏🏻🤗🤗

So glad we booked ahead to dine here even though it was a Thursday as it was absolutely packed, and rightly so! They do keep the door open due to covid and the queue/takeaway collection so I'd advise bringing a jacket in case you end up seated there. Service was great, very attentive staff who didn't mind how long it took us to decide on our food. The food was absolutely fantastic - burgers were delicious, nice big portion sizes so very good value for money too. Would highly recommend the tater tots as a side instead of fries!
S. K.
Very nice spot.
Unfortunately they don't take walk ins.
The burger and the fries were very tasty and the service was also really nice.
S. P.
A really solid burger which was reasonably priced, had been recommended by quite a few people before our visit to Edinburgh. We found it didn't quite live up to the hype of best burgers ever but it was tasty. Our servers were lovely too!
One thing that absolutely was incredible were the tater tots, they were like little hash brown bites and I'd gladly eat an entire bowl of them any time.
J. M.
Came here on the first day on the trip to Edinburgh. I won't put up photos because I will do the place an injustice. You are better off checking out the social media photos they put up instead. If you think it looks good on there, it's even better in person. Rolled out the door happy.
M. G.
1st time visit as a family of 4....everyone was happy with their food...If I had to be critical my burger was quite dry...not moist or juicy at all, that said I still ate it all. Overall the family enjoyed it and we had a decent experience.
S. T.
Had a Poutine and it was very nice. Portion size was huge.
Only minor let down was the service. Not bad by a long stretch but I wanted another drink and after 15mins waiting i decided to just get the bill.
K. D.
Food was great, staff were really friendly.
Really good milkshakes
R. J.
Food was good; for some reason, I expected the burgers to come with fries, but it was just the burger. Maybe the menu/servers should point it out more clearly if that is a menu item? The servers seemed content to ignore us; we didn't get a callback, and no one was floating, so there wasn't even the opportunity to ask for more drinks.
The food was delicious, but the staff are seriously missing opportunities to upsell as well as check that the customer is happy. All in all, I would have had a better interaction and service from a driver if I had just gotten it delivered.
N. K.
Great chicken burgers and topped fries. There was a bit of a wait in the night we went due to lots of urber eats orders - we went after Scotland played that afternoon. But the service was excellent and the food was sublime
D. S.
Came here with the wife. Burgers were very good, wasn't a big fan of the chicken bites, too much sauce for me. Beer selections were limited
L. M.
Delicious food that will definitely fill you up! Good price for what you get. Can't wait to go back in the future and try something else off the menu!
Edit: 11 months later I returned and did try something else off the menu. Got the pulled pork sandwich last year and this time got the chicken burger. The chicken was so crispy and the nicest fried chicken I've ever had! Rang up to book and service was really fast. Sat down and got food and drinks within 25 minutes. I wish there was a Bread Meats Bread where I live.
Another edit 😂: Returned again for a third time! I have nothing bad to say when visiting Bread Meats Bread. It’s always on my list to visit whenever I’m in Edinburgh. We went at about 17:30 which was a pretty busy time so next time I would maybe go at a quieter time however the service was good and the food came in good time. The food was delicious, I think our waiter was even a little jealous!
K. Q.
We happened to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and were very pleseantly impressed! What really attracted us was their large veggie selection, which was really great to see how big a variety they had.
We got two starters, two burgers and two sides of chips and were shocked at the size of the portions - we definitely could have shared! Food was super yummy and really warm as well. Drink selction was good if not a little pricey.
Service was good, but the busier the place got the harder we found it to find a staff member to pay our bill. Staff were friendly and happy to chat with everyone. Will absolutely be coming back to try again!
V. E.
Amazing food and staff gave good recommendations for the food! I had the Luther Burger, which was fantastic - A bacon cheeseburger in a glazed donut!!!!
N. F.
Me and my wife ate lunch here on the first day of our honeymoon and boy was it a great way to start the trip! We were greeted by the lovely James who was warm, welcoming and a good laugh, all round great server! I went for the Bacon fried chicken burger with a side of poutine, my wife the chicken and cheese burger with a side of halloumi fries. Our burgers were spot on, the chicken was both crispy and juicy and the buns soft. But those sides, the poutine was delicious and my wife is still talking about those halloumi fries a week later!
We both had mocktails which were just as good as the real thing! Great price and portion size too! A must try when in Edinburgh!
A. J.
Superb burger and the poutine was insane. Location on maps is incorrect - actually a little further down Lothian St opposite frizzante.
Great staff, amazing choice and unreal food. Just need more opening up in England so we have one nearer to home!
J. R. W. -. J.
Great food! Great prices! Would recommend. Great place for a vegan burger.
h. h.
Amazing food, best burger I've ever had. Double patty, pulled pork and chicken.
G. P.
Incredibly filling and satisfying vegan junk food options. Chips with Gravy and cheese is an absolute must, as is the double stack bbq vegan burger. Shame I can't move now though... food coma commencing
D. D.
Well well well ✨ as the first time I did not like it, I got fries with bacon 🥓 and they were a bit dry and a cheeseburger 🍔 a bit expensive 🤑 maybe, I will come back soon to try again a new hamburger! Anyway, I can say that I have tried better and cheaper burgers! Thank you ✨
G. L.
Pleasant surprise while walking in the city. Very friendly staff and super polite. The order came back quick and the food was delicious. I highly recommend!
E. A.
Brilliant burger place. Can see why it's so busy all the time. Their portions are big and meaty and they're not cheap with the toppings.
I think most people would be happy with this place to get their burgers and fries fix but they're not the best burgers I've had...nor in the top 5 best burgers. They're lacking that something that makes them special
t. n.
Loved my visit here. Got the Luther burger which I initially thought looked small, but turned out it was deceptively filling and expertly made. Poutine was fantastic. Reasonably priced and pleased to report they offer NHS discount. Would definitely recommend!
K. H.
Amazing range of burgers & sandwiches. Portions are huge, can easily share a portion of fries. Staff were also helpful & polite.
R. C.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff. The burger was sadly lacklustre, and the buffalo fries had been soaked rather than seasoned with the sauce. Everything was nicely presented, I just wish that burger had been juicier.
T. C.
Great burgers and great service at the Lothian Rd, Edinburgh locale. We ate there several times on our holiday and they always remembered us, despite being a very busy locale. Upon hearing we where on an info gathering trip for our upcoming move to Edinburgh, we were treated like friends and given a lot of very solid real estate rental advice. Things you could never learn with just the internet. Thank you !
S. B.
Really enjoyed the food from here! Me and boyfriend ordered through uber eats and the food arrived quickly, all correct and still hot! We both got the lower east pastrami burger and shared bacon tatter tots and Raspoutine. Portions are huge so maybe order 1 side between 2😂 The poutine for me, was the best I've had along with the burger! Me and my boyfriend have packed away a fair amount of burgers in our time too so huge compliments there. The sauce on the burger was amazing and the pastrami was so soft. Definitely worth the money! Will order from here again for sure, can't wait to try the chicken burgers 😍
D. B.
Excellent burgers, refreshing beer, great staff, excellent value
D. D.
Excellent service. Was a wee mistake with cheeseburger which was quickly fixed with no fuss and with good humour. Thanks for an excellent meal, kids loved it as much as we did!
S. S.
Terrific service, great vegetarian and vegan options. Boozy milkshakes 🤤💯
R. F.
Great burgers, fantastic for gluten-free. Doesn't mention GF on the menu but most items can be done gluten-free and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Been here many times and never suffered a reaction so their kitchen processes are safe.
S. L.
Large choice of burgers but they don’t ask costumers how they would like their meat to be cooked, either rare or well done. They do well done for everyone, which I found quite inconvenient as I like my burger to be rare, so the meat was pretty dry.
W. M.
Burgers - we had Royale - were asking if quite pricey. However fries were a bit disappointing. I had buffalo fries and topping was ok but chips were coldish and looked v unappetising. I said this to waiter who apologised but did nothing more. Disappointing given the fries were £5! I'd return for burger but wouldn't have fries.
N.
I had THE MOST DELICIOUS gluten-free burger here. So delicious infact I've not stopped thinking about this place since I tried it in September. It literally haunts my dreams, beckoning me to return.
Having an allergy to gluten usually limits me to the most boring options on the majority of menu's but Bread meats bread knocked it out the park. Absolutely stunning.
A. N.
Just been there on a busy Friday, brilliant service, and the food was better than expected. I love burgers, pulled pork, style food and BMB did not disappoint. The prices are not as high as expected and the choice on the menu was much more than I thought. Had the Luther burger and the tatta tots, suffice it to say I will be back - great addition to Edinburgh
D. N.
So impressed with the food here, very hearty and comforting, but so much flavour too. Simple yet effective
T. C.
DECENT BURGERS AND YOU CAN GET POUTINE!
Came here at 6:30 and was able to get a table for two. The table was a little too close to the next table and so it felt a little crowded but not a huge deal.
I got the Royale with Cheese burger which was pretty good but it didn't quite reach the level that I thought it would be at. It was still a decent burger but it wasn't thick enough to give a good bite to the burger. If I go again I will definitely get a different burger with a thicker burger patty.
The other person in my party got the pulled lamb burger which tasted really good!
The grilled chicken poutine was great as well. However the chicken was a little dry on the inside so I would probably order a different variety of poutine next time as well.
Overall it was good but it didn't live up to the hype for me. I might have just ordered things that I didn't personally like so next time I go, I will definitely try some others.
S. K.
Awesome food. Just love it. I've tried almost all of the chicken burgers and they're great. My favorite is the Angry Bird - I just love how it overflows from the bun. ☺️
I didn't have the burger but my friend did, and he really liked it - he's an American, too, so he knows a thing or two about burgers.
The appetizers are so good and big. My favorite is the Haloumi Fries. The onion rings and fries are great, too. Poutine was not as good, though.
The place is centrally located. The ambiance is great. The place is clean. The service is great and quick.
My visit to Edinburgh always has a plan to visit this place.
A. J.
Visited this place last year and was looking forward to eating here again. We booked over the phone but there was no record of our booking which tainted our experience. They managed to accommodate us anyway but not a good start. My main issue was that I was served my main in a takeaway box with wooden cutlery, which made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. Understand that circumstances have changed recently and we all have to adapt, but I've not had this experience at other restaurants. If I wanted to eat a takeaway I would had ordered one and probably put it on a plate at home. I did mention I was having trouble cutting the food and the waitress bought us proper cutlery. All the staff were attentive when they could be. The chips in my poutine tasted stale like they'd been reheated. The toilets were also in a state and very unhygienic with water all over the floor which is a health and safety hazard. It's a shame the standards in this place has slipped.
M. C.
WOW! Had the best burger ever ! And the beer was great also....very friendly staff ...Try this place you won't be disappointed
G. I.
The staff here are incredible, even accommodating my partner's request to get additional gravey and cheese curds from the poutine to take away.
I was so excited to try the Venom burger and was not disappointed! Such an unusual but on point combo of flavours!
Our eyes were bigger than our bellies but the staff kindly packed our leftovers to go.
E. M. M.
Nice place for quick 'work' lunch. Good selection of burgers and fries. I went for the classic bacon cheeseburger with parmesan and garlic fries, and they were very good. Good and friendly service.
A. S. N.
Really nice food, and super service 👌 Chicken & Lamb products are halal, with vegan options to replace meat items. Prices are reasonable & competitive. Hope to be back very soon.
S. A.
One of the best burgers. They have so much choice took a while to choose. If you are a meat lover this place is like a dream. The portion sizes looked manageable but I struggled to finish.
D. P.
Incredible. This, my friends, is a wonderful stack of beef, pulled pork, bacon, cheese and bread 🤤
D. B.
The Cali burger was amazing (the patties are huge and the meat is fresh), the Reuben was okay, the NY hot dog was delicious, the onion rings were the best we’ve had in Scotland (and we’ve had several), and the chips were good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great!
J. B.
Bread Meats Bread is simply outstanding the food is amazing with a menu to suit everyone's burger joint needs. The prices are spot on for the food as it's simply the best burger I've ever eaten. The different types of fries also adds a great partner to your burger. The staff where great and the restaurant was spot on. Highly recommended this to everyone if u want a burger when in Edinburgh u must go here they r the best in town
K. K.
For the price that's a lot of food! I love it ! And the milkshakes are awesome
E. D.
Such a lovely restaurant! I visited here on my birthday and the staff were super friendly and made the experience so nice! The burgers were incredible, sooo tasty and super filling! I had the challoumi burger and my boyfriend had the cali burger; we were both very impressed with how tasty they were. The staff added mushrooms to my burger with no fuss, despite it not being an option on the menu (thank you)! We went quite late on and at no point felt rushed out, our waiter James even spent the time to recommend bars to continue our night at. We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in Edinburgh! Thanks for the best night!:)
L. B.
Wow the best chicken burger I've had in a long time. Just need to add mac and cheese to the menu.
Tatties and poutine both new things to try and will be happy to eat them again especially the poutine.
S. P.
Arrived to discover that we’d booked a table for the following week by mistake but the friendly staff got us a seat anyway (despite being queued out the door). Food was great, one of the best burgers I’ve had for ages 👌
A. P.
Special thanks to skinny waitress who saved me, just by charging my phone❤️.
I highly recommend burger with Pastrami. I will remeber this taste for long ☺️
D.
Great tasting burgers with awesome sides, good sized drinks as well. Great for kids and adults who love burgers. The food portions are probably too big but if we're being honest only our waist were complaining.
R. “. S.
My kids loved it and wanted to come again. Although a relatively busy and noisy venue if you mind those things, the food when it arrived was well worth it.
C. M.
Loved my first visit here! Staff friendly and service is quick. Burgers are massive and very good value for money. Bbq pulled brisket is delicious. My friend loved her chicken burger.
P. K.
Probably the best burger I have ever ate. Delicious burgers and quick efficient servers, good casual atmosphere, shame not to have the fries on the side as it is an extra but well worth the compromise.
Keep it up guys. You are setting very high standard.
Thanks for a great lunch. 🤯😁
M. D.
Excellent burgers choice and taste. Poutine is a must try and definitely should end up on everybody's list of foods to try.
Service was great until the place got busier and staff seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. Hence 4 stars.
Overall the place is well worth recommendation and I will definitely be back again.
T.
Been to the Glasgow one and tried this. If you like a proper burger this is where to try. The burger comes without sides but I would say go for one side between 2.
You can't book so I would try and avoid peak times. Service very good just like Glasgow store.
K. B.
I recommend this place to all my friends that are looking for a great burger at a reasonable price! I have had the Caribbean burger each time because even though I would like to try the rest, the flavour combination just appeals to me so much each time. It’s sweet combined with savoury the sweet potato fries fall out of the burger and have a mouth watering sauce to dip into. It is a burger that does not need any sides even if you arrive on an empty stomach! I love this place! The queue can be mental but once you get in you will see why it is worth the wait!
W. v. R.
The ratings say it all. Great burgers, my only comment would be that they should offer medium cooked but it was amazing none the less. Service was very good as well.
L. T.
Massive menu choice for burgers and sides. Food could have been hotter, but was really tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient, and there were lots of them. Would suggest a side between two, as the portions are large. We ended up having to leave quite a bit. Arrived at 12.45ish on a Saturday and had no problem getting seated and served. Would recommend.
A. K. O.
It was as amazing as we remembered it to be from the visit a few years ago... Really friendly staff, quick service, plenty of choices, decent portions - make sure to go in hungry. Poutine is a must!
R. C.
Burgers were ok sides were a little bit of a let down given there size they were not bad value for money but seemed over cooked, was a new experience but if you really want to try a new place give it a shot 🍔
M. (.
Very friendly staff, fast service and super tasty burgers. Prices are great for the quantity of food u get. They got jugs of beer to wash down the meat and their fries are super good.
L.
Came here for a late lunch last Sunday and had a good experience overall.
I got the opportunity to try two of their burgers - the signature Lothian Burger and their Fried Chicken, Cheese, and Bacon burger. I was actually a bigger fan of the Chicken option, which was nicely fried and had a great flavour. The Lothian, on the other hand, while good, wasn't my favourite, as I didn't care for the flavour of the pulled pork they added.
To top it all off, we had friendly service, a generous side of chips, and a delicious chocolate milkshake! This place was really busy when I went, but had calmed down when I left around 4.
All in all, a great spot that's worth visiting!
T. F. &. B.
Excellent food great business!! Well done guys fantastic!
We need you guys in the north of Scotland!!Come to inverness!
B. B.
Wow - food is unbelievable here. Really tasty burgers and the sweet maple bacon fries were wickedly tasty too. Portions are big, 2 burgers and a special fried was enough for 2 to share
M. M.
Definitely worth a visit! Food tastes great, good portion sizes and the vegan/vegetarian burgers are amazing. Would definitely recomend the onion rings too!
M. M.
Loved the food, loved the service, loved the style and the menu! I was quite skeptic before a friend got me into trying it. Yes it's a franchise but doesn't feel that much like it, with interesting dishes and touches with even Canadian influences and American of course. I opted in for the BBQ pulled mushroom burger, very good and filling.
N.
Been here 3 times now and every time I have been met with great, friendly service! The burgers are amazing and I recommend the maple bacon sweet fries. Portions are quite large. No bookings are taken but the turnaround isn't too long.
E.
Easily one of Edinburgh’s best burgers. The service is always top notch and we’re a little bit addicted to their poutine. Make sure you try the Luther burger, it’s served in a glazed donut!
R. C.
Food was decent and not too expensive, the staff were friendly and the wait times were short, definitely worth a try!
L. M.
Very tasty burgers with a lot of options. Also gluten free burgers available that taste exactly the same as the normal ones. The service was great and everyone super friendly. The place seems to be very known and can get busy at dinner time.
L. B.
Amazing!! Best burger I have had! Drinks were lovely!!! Will defo be back and recommend to people xx
R. W.
Delicious! Got recommended by friends so had to pay a visit! Love the variety of options on the menu would recommend sharing the chips as they're quite a large portion. Staff were very friendly too :)
A. G.
Really enjoyed the meal there. I was trying to find the best places to get a burger in Edinburgh. I would say this is a top contender. Poutine, Halloumi burger, and their house lager. Very very packed when we got their but it was worth the wait.
K. F.
Small place but worth visiting for the food. Portions are really big would recommend to share the 'Poutin' dishes with your friends. Very busy most of the times. The only let down for me was the cider selection, only Kopparberg was available, which i can't stand
S. P. J.
Great food and service, excellent burgers!!
R. V.
Would definitely return here again. Burgers were amazing (£7.50-10 for the more standard ones, up to about £15 for something more extravagant) and the inside of the cafe/restaurant gives it a good vibe. I recommend the sweet potato fries over the normal fries - so much nicer for only £0.50 more, but both a good serving size.
K. D.
Weekend break to Edinbrough and been to BMB North Bridge twice in a row as food was so amazing, staff were amazing and very friendly. I would like to give a massive praise to all the team but mostly to Marie (MANAGER) she was amazing and got herself involved when staff were busy. Marie's team must be very proud to have her as a manager. When we visit Edinbrough again we will be coming back to BMB for sure. Keep up the fantastic work. P.s please bring BMB down to England. 😀
k. f.
Burgers taste very good so no complaints on that front... draught drinks tasted like dishwater and staff were like emotionless robots. Not much else to say really
A. G.
When I typed into Google "Best Burger Edinburgh" this was the first result, and Google did not lie! I have eaten at burger places all over the world and this, this is a place I would recommend over anywhere else, fantastic flavours in every bite.
The price we paid (although not expensive) was completely justified with the quality of what we was served, with all the staff being very friendly and professional.
We will be back in the future for sure!

Order the pulled pork and cheese toastie, it’s immense. And the staff are so lovely too.
B. 8.
Full-on burgers and great vibes.
Vegans in Edinburgh, you need to try these burgers. It’s a taste sensation that you can’t deny, and whether you’re after a date night or a dinner with family and friends, you’ll enjoy this dining experience.
I tried the vegan fried chicken and cheese with buffalo fries and it
was magic. Definitely one of the best burger joints I’ve visited.
V. T.
Tried the pastrami burger and it was OK. A bit try and you couldn’t tasty the sauce. Fries were good and the local had a good environment. Nice staff. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon.
A. S.
Wow, wow, wow, and wow!!!!! Absolutely amazing food, hands down the best burgers ive ever had. Poutine, chicken, tater tots, burgers all absolutely amazing
D. G.
Always lively, sometimes with a short queue, and requiring a wee wait. Attentive staff and rapid service. Plenty of choice, and the delicious burgers (try the Lothian Wolf or the Pastrami) are only part of what's on offer. Gluten-free options too. Recommended.
R. B.
This place was friendly and service was fast!! Lots of burgers to choose from and some tough choices to make ha! The burgers are lush and the Poutine!!!!! INSANE!! We had the Spartan burger, fear and Lothian burger and bacon and cheetoes poutine 😍
I. A.
I ordered the cheese burger with a chocolate milkshake. Both were fantastic. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. I sat by the window. Had it not been for the sticky table top, I would've given the place a 5 star rating.
A. M.
This place is fantastic. Excellent choice of food on menu. Incl. Vegan/vege. Huge portions with option to take away what you cant eat. I ordered chicken and bacon burger and the poutine - was stuffed after the poutine so ended up taking the burger home for dinner. Awesome atmosphere. Lovely, genuine servers. Would definitely recommend this place
M. R.
Amazing food, I had the Lothian Wolf burger and kimchee fries. One of the best burgers I've had. To be fair I couldn't taste the actual burger that much due to the masses of great toppings, including mountains of pulled pork. Relaxed but attentive, efficient service
H. M.
Food was amazing but service was shocking...can't even have the excuse of it was busy as was fairly quiet
T. M.
Very very good vegan food (and service) !
J. W.
Can get busy, but they work fast to ensure you've got a table ASAP. Last visit we only had to wait 5 min.
You get lots of food for your money, the halloumi fries are HUGE! The dream!
J. M.
Got the ayia napa burger. Fantastic. Up there with the best burgers I have ever had. Went at lunchtime with work colleagues and managed to be in and out within the hour. Excellent.
A. A.
Awesome burger - I had the Black 'n' Blue and Caramelised Sweet Potato Fries. Helpful and friendly staff. Really recommend this place, will definitely visit next time in Edinburgh.
The only negative I can think of is maybe the beer selection.
D. F.
Went there on a very busy day & we were seated quickly & served promptly.
Food as always from here was brilliant with a great selection to suit everyone.
My partner needed to go for gluten free options and they catered for her needs perfectly without any issue.
The restaurant itself is quite small but when seated you do not feel like you are on top of other guests.
The open plan kitchen alongside the seating area is always a nice sight to watch as you wait for your food.
Toilets were clean and the staff was extremely friendly despite the fact it was incredibly busy when we visited.
S. H.
Amazing vegan burgers and poutine with great selection of shakes too. Highly recommend and worth the money!!!
A. R.
The best burger I ever ate.i believe it's called the Lamborghini. It consist of lamb shredded meat with a nice angus beef Patty combined with perfect bun and cheese. Service is outstanding and they offer good selection of local beers.😀
S. R.
One of the best burger places I have been so far. Came in on a Saturday evening and they were fully booked indoors. No problem - as we were happy to take a table outdoors. Food came out quickly and the amount of fries in a portion was more than enough for 2 people. Beer tasted lovely, but unfortunately Aperol spritz felt a little watery, but when the burgers are so lovely I cannot complain!
T. M.
Absolute unit of a sandwich!
This place really is just delicious. I'm a huge fan of bbq and slow cooked meats and was very happy to order the slow cooked pulled lamb as a side dish.
It was so savoury and perfect!
Their brisket was divine, beautifully brined and not a single strand of dry meat.
My only issue was their drinks menu. Beer, beer, beer and a slew of dry wines. I would have loved a more fruity cider. Like a Bulmers.
But wonderful food and would go again.
Service: 4/5
Food: 5/5
Price: 5/5
N. F.
Big menu and equally big burgers. Think twice about sides unless you’re really hungry.
Friendly service as well.
G. T.
Amazing burgers and the poutine was incredible.
S. S.
I'm desperate to go back! Introduced to this place by the Bf, and I'm so glad we went. Place was busy (apparently it is like that a lot so might be worth booking?) but we were lucky enough to get a table walking in. Service was fast and efficient and table was clean and tidy. Decor is quirky "hipster style", the usual sort of thing. Some nice details I won't spoil. 😊 The food was brilliant, I had a burger which was great with a side of sweet potato fries - these were covered in maple syrup and crispy bacon and in the picture below. They. Are. Amazing! Give this place a try!!
C. O.
Honestly, it's delicious. Although, waiting times are a little high, as well as their prices. Alongside, they did mess up a gluten free burger in our order. Which they kindly took back and informed us that it wasn't gluten free and they also withdrew this from the bill. Although, the person consuming this was very ill afterwards. We assume this is due to cross-contamination. Great place. Nice staff. Just need better protocol when it comes to allergies.
T. M.
Great selection of burgers and fries in the center of Edinburgh. They don't take reservations but it's a short wait and you can grab a beer at the bar.
S. N.
Absolutely delicious food! The Poutine is great for sharing, and the Sweet Potato Fries with Maple Syrup and Bacon alone are worth going there!
S. L.
The food really tasty and well presented. The staff were brilliant too . Will be back
T. N.
Good selection of veggie and vegan burgers but would have preferred also one that wasn't seitan or b12.
The poutine was good and they offered veggie gravy and vegan cheese.
Good beer and service
J. M.
Great place for a burger. Good selection of chicken burgers and other sandwiches too (pulled pork, toasties, etc) plus lots of types of fries, including poutine. Unfortunately the venue is on the small side so can be difficult to get a table at busy times (there's no bookings)
P. F.
The food here is quite simply sublime. Every burger, every side is perfect. Friendly staff. Very efficient kitchen. Great takeaway service too
T. S.
Food was amazing. Partner didn't realise how big his burger was going to be but he managed it! What a champ. I had the burger that had a donut as a bun and it was amazing! The sweetness with the meat was beautiful. Recommended.
A. B.
5 stars for the service; 4 stars for the food. Somewhat overpriced, but a nice atmosphere.
Had the donut double patty burger thing. This was trendy and new a few years ago, I think and it's a solid version. There was sauce on top of the donut bun part, which unfortunately made it a very messy affair to eat. The patties were very obviously mixed with black pepper which gave the flavor a nice kick, even though they were cooked just a smidge overdone. The novelty makes up for it though.
My experience with the service was very lovely. My server very nicely went over a couple of her favourite burgers and gave me a great recommendation.
A. S.
Very decent burger. Reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it was pricey for a small burger. Having said that would definitely go back 👌🏼
A. M.
Great burger and toasted beef brisket was delicious. Sides are huge order them to share. Good value, tasty, portions are huge...we had to take half it home.
Casual eating, easy to book, nice cocktails
Family really enjoyed it.
L. C.
Lovely diner style restaurant. Very friendly staff, fast service, amazing vegan/vegetarian options - I'm not a veg, but the vegan "pastrami" sandwich was delicious!
E. P.
Food came reasonably fast. Friendly staff. One of the best burgers of my life. Went for the lamburghini. With all these variety of meat was just delicious.
R. R.
Super delicious, would definitely go back. I got the Vegan Carribean Burger. It had sweet potato fries, maple vegan bacon, a B12 vegan patty and vegan spicy mayo (it came with fried onions but I got it without).
The burger was delicious, but they weren't kidding when they said maple bacon, there was a maple syrup included which was good, but personally a little too sweet for me. (Although that's probably on me because I got it without onions, maybe that would have helped counter the sweetness more). If it had just a slight bit less maple and a bit more spicy mayo it would have been perfect. But still it was yummy and I really enjoyed it!
P. S.
Fairly priced burgers from £8-11 and large portions! Fries every which way you can imagine! Delicious!
P. H.
Fabulous. And very substantial. Please take note that the Ra-ra-ras-poutine is NOT a side and could comfortably feed a family of four. It was fantastic though.
G. H.
4 stars as the food was decent enough, service was good, place was nice but very run of the mill. 5 stars for those that stand out when it comes to burger places, sometimes less is more. Good food though at reasonable prices.
a. t.
The beef it self was excellent. Very delicious. Love it. The bread was very good but i would rather if it was hot. Fries was nice. Very friendly staff. Good location.
C. P.
Great food - big portions, make sure you don’t eat before visiting 👌
M. F.
Absolute silence as we ate our meal because the food was so good. Staff were helpful with allergy information!
I. A.
I ordered the cheese burger with a chocolate milkshake. Both were fantastic. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. I sat by the window. Had it not been for the sticky table top, I would've given the place a 5 star rating.
V. A.
Got the order wrong but nice overall
L. B.
Amazing!! Best burger I have had! Drinks were lovely!!! Will defo be back and recommend to people xx
M. D.
Excellent burgers choice and taste. Poutine is a must try and definitely should end up on everybody's list of foods to try.
Service was great until the place got busier and staff seemed to be more …
C. O.
Honestly, it's delicious. Although, waiting times are a little high, as well as their prices. Alongside, they did mess up a gluten free burger in our order. Which they kindly took back and informed us that it wasn't gluten free and they …
D. H.
Excellent Black & Blue burger; went perfectly with the caramelised sweet potato fries.
P. R.
Gorgeous food, massive portions really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
R.
Lovely experience overall and nice, talkative staff. Made us feel very welcome!
S. G.
Extremely impressive selection on the menu, including six poutines (!). Imaginative toppings and ethically sourced beef raise it a notch above other burger places. Bonus points for serving a double bacon cheeseburger in a glazed donut ("The Luther").
B. S.
We visited a while ago, the burgers options are great with lots of side options to choose from though the burger itself will be too much for one person
Y. O.
Let me tell you about bread Meats bread😁 Lord this place their burger is another level! I've tried angry bird, buffalo fries and it was utrly delicious mmmmmm I've tried the 3 branches we have in Scotland! Just to see how good it is. I've found out that the one in Edinburgh was more nicer than the one in Glasgow!
Also, the food portion in Glasgow west end is a bit smaller comparing with the other, but I've told the manager and he went and made sure I got a good portion for my food.
T. S.
The Lothian Wolf (pictured) may be one of the best burgers I've ever had. It's a mess and won't fit in your mouth, but you definitely should try.
G. A.
Best burgers in Edinburgh. There are a lot of good burger places in Edinburgh but this is the best. Great variety of toppings, good sides and good drinks selection for a burger place. It’s quite small and can be busy but worth the wait.
B. C.
Vast selection of food . Chicken roll sent back due to cold roll .both chickens dinners warm .not hot enough
C. S.
Good food gravy on poutine slightly too salty but chicken bites amazing
T. N.
The bread definitely meats bread! Probably one of the best burgers iv had in the uk! Worth! Be warned, burgers are filling! I barely had room for the fries
F. G.
Had the vegan burger. Hands down, the best burger I've had. Well done! Kids had hot dog meals which were extremely generously portioned...nobody left hungry. Friendly and helpful staff.
P. B.
This place hits the spot every time!!! Never been disappointed in umpteen visits, love the maple bacon sweet potato fries, perfect accompaniment to any burger or hot dog on the menu, you will not be disappointed! BMB doesn’t take bookings so it’s first come first served, I like that
R. P.
Best meal in Edinburgh, hands-down. I had the lamburghini burger, which was the best combination of flavors, if a bit large and messy to eat. I could only eat half; it was that massive. But about the halloumi fries, I don't know what to say. The spices in the breading, plus the halloumi.... *chef kiss* - If I had been able, I would've eaten here every meal we had in Edinburgh.
A. R.
Chips were not included with the burgers which, thankfully, we had specifically asked about but we saw many tables confused when their burgers arrived without chips. The burgers themselves were quite small, the chips were quite expensive and not the best and the service wasn't hugely friendly. Bottom line, we will not be returning
M. M.
A meat lovers paradise! The sides are fairly large so a burger and a side per person is more than plenty... I accidently over ordered getting the buffalo chips and deep fried "squeeky cheese" to accompany my black and blue burger. Almost managed it all tbh, but was so stuffed I ended up leaving a couple of pieces of the squeeky cheese!
My lady had the saiten burger (as she is vegan) and said it was amazing!
M. F.
Absolute silence as we ate our meal because the food was so good. Staff were helpful with allergy information!
L. E.
On our visit we had the Sunshine Cali burger and a side order of Poutine.
The food;
I liked the Poutine, you can't go wrong with anything that's swimming in gravey. Can't fault the portion size or taste.
The burger was a disappointment. I was expecting the patty to be almost smashburger like but it wasn't. I'm guessing these aren't made on site as they all looked perfect. They were still nice and juicy just not up there with the best I've had. The pulled Brisket was nice and flavorful.
Conclusion;
Nice place to go for a bite to eat and the team were really welcoming. I would go again but it wouldn't be on the top of my list of places to visit.
M. M.
Awesome burgers, extensive menu, delicious milkshakes and outstanding service. And obviously nothing beats their bacon fries... Well-deserved 5*
C. P.
Great food - big portions, make sure you don’t eat before visiting 👌
L. R.
Sometimes I dream about Bread Meats Bread.... and then I realise just how far I live away from Edinburgh and it makes me sad. When a burger and cheese bacon fries are so good that you fondly think of them as a missed friend, you know that restaurant is damn good! The Innis and Gunn beer is also a welcome accompaniment! Friendly staff and a great location that is tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of the Royal Mile. The o lot downside is it can get super busy so arrive early or make a reservation! I’ll be back soon Bread Meats Bread! ❤️
R.
Their google maps location is wrong. They are a bit closer to prince's street than google maps shows. Otherwise excellent food and service, have to try!
S. F.
Great food! Had a lovely burger, Service was good.
A. A.
First time having the canadian poutine experience. It was epic! The portion was huge, i was so full from in it, got the one with Buffalo wings in it. Couldn't even finish it. Worth the money, totally recommended
J. L.
Great food and friendly service. Will definitely visit again next time I am in the area.
M. V. G. V.
The staff is great and the Raspoutine is delicious and huge! The smell of fried food that sticks with you is something they should work on...
N. R.
Fantastic burgers! Service is amazing too! Great place for vegetarians and vegans.
m. m.
Amazing food! Big portions and great prices. The staff were lovely too and gave fast service! Couldn’t fault them. 10/10 recommend
K.
The Raspoutine is a must, super tasty. Had that with the new York hot dog which was also very delicious.
Definitely coming back for more poutine
a. g.
Myself and my partner went here for the first time over the weekend. The staff were friendly and the place, while small is well set out. The food was excellent and reasonably priced despite being in Edinburgh.
A. P.
Cheese and bacon cheeseburger was brilliant. Will definitely go back.
M. C.
Just get the Luther, great staff and great food
C. M.
Wow.. Just wow.. This came highly recommended, but I was not expecting something quite so great.. Service was quick, menu extensive (how can you get stuck picking a burger, we did, I couldn't pick between three of them), price ok, food was awesome.. Will definitely be back next time we are in Edinburgh
E. R.
Really tasty, good portions, great service, all around A+!
K. W.
Great atmosphere, fries, burgers and beer. A perfect combination.
V. V.
Happy to see Vegan options, and the pulled mushroom burger was fantastic! Thick slices of portabello mushroom mixed with tofu and vegis in a sweet bbq sauce. I cant stop thinking about it. Sweet potato fries with maple syrup were also amazing. I highly recommend.
B. L.
First time going and loved it the only issue was the hot dog it was small and you could easily have the same size for 7 pounds cheaper at a burger/hotdog van but other than that the food was excellent and the service was excellent would recommend.
C. S.
Great burgers! Welcoming staff! highly recommend
A. B.
Went here for a burger and a beer and was not disappointed. The food was great, the atmosphere was good - kind of diner style, very relaxed. Excellent value for money.
A. B.
OMG ... in a few words ... if you are looking for a great food (best burger in Edinburgh) just visit BMB and enjoy
H. M.
Poutine was great, big portions. Certainly recommend.
C. Y. A.
Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a buffalo fries and they were both great! The bread tasted really good, crunchy and delicious 😋
Took a while to get a table during lunch time so I decided to take away, but it’s worthy of waiting 😀
D. R.
Nice burgers but nothing special. Good service.
L. G.
Great atmosphere, tasty food, great vegan options, would definitely visit again
D. P.
This brand will take off! The menu is full of amazing choices, the staff were friendly and attentive, service quick and efficient, suitably priced and great atmosphere. Awesome all round 👏
C. M.
Food was really good and the service was good too 😀
N. L.
Staff where great. Ordered the brisket on leith and I received about 1 and a half cows of meat. It was delicious.
J. T.
I love my unless burger and poutine, not to far from the poutine in canada
f.
Great food at reasonable prices, cannot book and was very busy, we luckily got a table but would definitely be worth a wait.
H. A.
The burger (Cali) was a little underwhelming, but the fried chicken and chips were nice. Had to wait a little while for my order because they were busy. Staff were very friendly
A. L.
Amazing burgers great service good beer and be Sure to have the poutine with your chips
A. D.
Food was very delicious and filling. One of my favorite burger places in Edinburgh for sure
D. M.
Incredible burgers, wide selection of sides and drinks! Got takeout instead of eating in because it was fully booked by the time my partner and I showed up, but that didn't ruin the food at all! Poutine was a pleasant addition to the meal, and would thoroughly recommend their signature "Fear and Lothian" burger!
G. H.
The restaurant was really busy, which is a good indication of how good this place is, so we waited at the bar with a drink. We were quickly seated and the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place.
L. D.
Amazing little place. Food was outstanding and staff were great
I. M.
Does not disappoint, offering something for everyone, make sure you are hungry as portions are très grand.
M. M.
Super tasty!
K. d.
Amazing food would highly recommend. good prices too
M. 7.
Very good quality food. Great price. 👍
S. W.
Cannot even describe how good this place was. Having seen pictures online and various YouTube videos, I had high expectations and was not disappointed. I'm still dreaming of the reuben pastrami, one of the best things I've ever eaten
P. T.
Nice but veggie options are tasty but very small compared with the meet choices.
J. A.
Great burgers and fries, at really good prices. My favorite burger joint in Edinburgh when I don't want to break the bank!!
D. C.
This is one of the best burger joints in Edinburgh, and the poutine is fantastic - I highly recommend ordering that! There's a good selection of burgers and the meat is obviously high quality, but everything is very, very salty and leaves you quite dehydrated. Prices are generally reasonable but the sides are just a little bit overpriced, especially the tater tots and fries, at over £6 for a small portion. Otherwise it's a good option for a casual dinner, and I'll probably return or order from here again in the future. 🍔🥔
D. R.
Great choice, good service and delicious burgers
r.
Was really good. Staff were a bit 'short' and to the point compared to other BMB restaurants but the food was great and no complaints really.
D. Č.
Great place! Burger with pulled pork was..f#%!*&g perfect 👍👏😋!
.. R.
Nice food. Courteous staff. Enjoyed it.
H. C.
Have always loved this place! High quality burgers with a great selection for all types of eaters! Was planning on having poutine this time but they had run out of cheese curds so I chose something else, but I know how good it is normally, so it doesn't mar my opinion in the slightest! Never had a bad experience and today is no different! Staff are always lovely and helpful, too. Go when you can!
K. W.
Really only bothered with just eat orders, some of the order never came and the fries were cold.
B. K.
Such great food. Super tasty.
L. R.
Fantastic place. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Very good options on burgers, that are really taste.
M. B.
This place on its own is a reason good enough to move to Edinburgh. Everything is pretty much perfect. If you like burgers, and just visiting EDI, please do NOT eat here. You will not be able to enjoy any other burgers any more.
M. S.
I usually quantify a review of a vegan option by saying it's the best/worst "vegan thing" I've ever had. I don't need to here.
We ordered the vegan cheeseburger, and the vegan Carribbean burger, vegan small poutine and tater tots. It is hands down the best hamburger, vegan or non, that I've ever had. We asked the chef's to cut them in half do we could both try, and they happily obliged. Tater tots were perfect, and bbq dipping sauce was fantastic.
Definitely going to come back on our next trip.
I. V.
A bit slow service. Good food and cocktails.
A. M.
Great burgers, with extensive veggie/vegan offerings! I had the angry vegan burger with kimchi fries - delicious!
M. M.
Nice restaurant, the service and multitude of food options are good for that american food/burger craving hit! I will say that the burger I had was not very enjoyable, it gave the impression that it was two small patties smashed but actually it was just too small patties that more or less served shaped like balls in the burger. Didn't really make much sense and also didn't taste anything special either. Unlikely I'll recommend, but could just be my personal taste.
R. S.
Wonderfull food and the best burger place in whole Glasgow. period.
S. W.
Excellent burger, fried chicken and dirty milkshakes. Will definitely go back again.
B. H.
Highly recommend, portions are ridiculously good for the price, couldn't finish everything, so they happily gave us a doggy bag.
J. B.
Came here yesterday and was absolutely delicious. My partner is not entirely a meat eater, but I think she may be converted! Super atmosphere with a Canadian touch of brilliance! Been looking for somewhere since I visited Canada a couple of years ago that serve pountine! INCREDIBLE! This restaurant would take off in London!
T. K.
It was pretty busy with a 10min wait on a table and standing only waiting, but worth the the wait. A great selection of burgers a just as great service despite how busy they were. The service team was handling it great. The burgers themselves were super-tasty, nice and hot and gobbled up quickly. If you were visiting Edinburgh, I would highly recommend visiting BMB.
T. M.
Probably the best burger in Edinburgh. Be aware of the queues in busy times though.
D. R.
Great menu. Been two times in two weeks. Great vegan options for a decent price for a gourmet burger that reminded me of eating meat burgers very well. Great staff as well who happily topped up the free tap water and were very friendly. Genuinely the best vegan burgers I've ever had (they have multiple options, all delicious) hence why I keep returning.
c.
Great place! On the suggestion of my daughter I tried a vegan burger and I was very pleasantly surprised. And when I was asked to choose a beer and I couldn't make up my mind, the nice people running the place offered me 2 samples to compare. This was totally unexpected and lovely, as it didn't happen to me before with beer. I chose Hell, a craft German beer, full of body and aroma, which I gladly recommend. As I also recommend Bread Meets Bread!
D. E.
Professional, knowledgeable, super friendly staff. Great fleshly prepared food with large portions, competitively priced. Go in...give it a try..you won't be disappointed.
P. S.
Had a fantastic chicken burger in here! Food was great, beet was enjoyable and service was good. It's not the most spacious of places, but it's definitely worth a visit. They have a seethrough kitchen, so you can see how your food is made. Will definitely be coming back!
J. K.
Best burgers I've ever eaten 🍔😍
D. D.
Seriously satisfying burger. Great taste and generous filling. Service was very slow for our group of 12 but that may have been because of the peak lunch time rush. Will definitely go back to wolf down more of their excellent burgers.
E. D.
Just visiting Edinburgh for a few days. Didn't have a reservation but they managed to seat us outside. Food and service was great, would highly recommend the fried chicken melt the buffalo fries and coleslaw
D. B.
Nothing else like it. Best and most creative burgers I've had in Scotland
J. R.
Great food and drinks! A lot of gluten-free,vegan, veggie options!
G. C.
Been twice now. Once with just my wife and once with a group. Both times, excellent. Good burgers*, good beers. *a wide variety of burgers from classic to extreme to weird. They do veggie stuff, but I can't comment on those. You can't book a table and it is small and busy, so have a backup restaurant ready, burthis should be your first choice
N. M.
Great for vegans and vegetarians who are looking for a good burger !
G.
HOLY S**T!!! If you haven't already heard about this place then you must be a total shut-in because it is genuinely the best burgers in the country (in my opinion, lets not start any fights). The only mildly inconvenient thing is that they don't take reservations so you will probably end up standing waiting for a table but once you sit down and take a bite, any frustrations you had about that will be instantly forgiven. Seriously...go, no questions, don't even bother looking up their menu, ...just...go.
R. C.
You might have to wait, but it's worth the wait... we took friends after a show and queued outside in the rain. I got a few moans about having to queue but everyone agreed it was a great choice. All loved the food. You can have a beer or wine and all food made to order. Good portion size, great burgers both beef and chicken, great fries too. Enjoy!
S. L.
Hands down the best burger in the city! Really chilled, laid back vibe going on inside, I fully recommend trying this place if you need filling up for a great price.
E. P.
I went here with some friends for the first time. The lamb burger was quite big and nice, the meat was cooked just fine and tasted good. We tried all the chips(fries), I liked the sweet potato chips the most. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our time there. I would recommend this place.
F. T.
Best burger place in town! Food is always amazing and fresh made, staff always happy to lend a hand. Loads of vegetarian options, unsure about Vegan. Worth a visit but is very busy due to how good it is. Also try the milkshakes, to die for.
F. M.
Not where Google Maps says it is, but worth finding (via building number). Vegan burger was awesome and affordable; staff were efficient and attentive even though I was a lunchtime walk-in.
S.
Great, busy atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. I love the burgers, the meat options are definitely better than the veggie ones though, and the poutine is a bit too tangy for my tastes. Also the small cans of beer are on the expensive side.
F. N.
Had high expectation before trying the burgers there. Everybody seemed to recommend this place as the "best burger in Edinburgh", but honestly I wasn't that impressed. The patty had a juicy and sophisticated texture but the bread/buns was dry and wrong. It felt like there was nothing to bond the ingredients together; instead just compiled them into an average 'gourmet' burger.
A. N.
Fantastic place for a quick food grab. The burgers are very decent, and the sides are simply delicious! The size of the portions is generous, too. The staff is friendly and efficient: the place was very busy, but my order was brought within 10 minutes. They do take-aways, too.
The only thing to improve would be the drinks menu: not enough beers on tap, and they only do 2/3 of a pint or 2 pints. Otherwise, a very good experience, will definitely come back. :)
D. H.
So much good food. We had the black pudding burger and fried chicken burger. Would recommend the beef burgers over the chicken which were average. We also had the poutine which was awesome and the onion rings which were nice and crispy. If you have room, order the vanilla milkshake as well!! Definitely recommend this place for great American grub. You can’t book here but the staff are so efficient and attentive that you should be seated very soon after arrival and not have to wait too long.
K. H.
Tasty food, reasonably priced although burger didn't come with any chips or sides
J. T.
Great selection of tasty perfectly cooked burgers all served by friendly and helpful staff.
M. S.
This isn't a bog standard burger joint where the burgers are simply bearable and nothing to talk about. Instead, they serve a wide selection of lovingly prepared grilled delights which are simply mouth watering. Even their sides set themselves apart from other eateries in the area. I'd thoroughly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
M. M.
Great variety of burgers, really nice poutine, food drinks, friendly service.
M. R.
The food is very well made. The portion sizes are for me the stand out feature. You get as good a burger here if not better than the intoxicated bovine, but the portions are way more generous! Staff are friendly and welcoming. Not a big place so expect a wait before sitting.
M. V. G.
As expected, not great for vegetarian options. Still good poutine and we didn't have to wait too long.
A. C.
Have been to the Glasgow franchise and it was absolutely banging! After two nights in Edinburgh of failed take outs I decided to stick to what I know and boy it did not disappoint.
Definitely recommend nice grub for lunch and possibly dinner if you into burgers and stuff. I would definitely recommend the pulled lamb sandwich 🥪 and sweet potato fries!
C. H.
Fantastic service - really friendly and quick, but hugely overpriced and unfulfilling.
I was looking for a quick bite of something vegan before going to a show and ordered the Hawaiian burger. Although it was tasty, there wasn't much to it for the cost so I had to order a side dish at more expense. Would think twice before going again.
C. M.
We were really excited to come here and try the food but sad to say it was an underwhelming experience compared to our expectations based off of the other reviews and photos. Our burgers (Royale with cheese) were kinda small (the patty to bun ratio was way off - not enough filling to fit the bun). I thought maybe I shouldn't judge it on the size and it would taste better than it looked, but unfortunately the meat was really dry and I had to smother it in sauce for it to have any flavour. We also ordered the patty melt and that too was dry. The service was great but I'm unsure if I'd go back for the food 😔
N. M.
Customer service was really good, they had sufficient covid measures, food is amazing however disappointed that you don't get chips with the burger when they cost around £14 😯
K. S.
The best burger spot I've ever been to. The menu is varied and vegan + veggie friendly. We had burgers and poutine and all of it was fantastic. There may be a slight waiting time as you can't book tables in advance but it's well worth the wait.
A. R.
Great food. Lunch menus also available and they do take away. Great atmosphere too.
P. M.
I've never had a bad meal at this place, good hearty eats with a range to accommodate most eaters, good vegan options, not sure about gluten free though.
The only noticeable comment is that if it's around a meal time, expect to queue, though never longer that 15 minutes.
S. O. (.
Food was excellent, although if i had known the Luther Burger would be THAT big, i wouldnt have ordered the side of bacon fries (which were excellent, and un-finish-able) our server was excellent (Gwen i believe her name was). Very efficient, clear, precise and made aure all the options to our meals were informed to us. Only issue was we had to stabd and wait for 15 minutes before being seated but i guess that is to be expected from such an impressive restaurant.
S. Y.
One of the best burger experiences I've had in Edinburgh.
The atmosphere is fantastic and very quick. Unfortunately you can not reserve a table, but don't let that phase you, they are worth the wait.
The burgers are very tasty and there are so many varieties including different types of sandwiches if burgers don't take your fancy. I highly recommend the poutine, which looks a lot tastier than it looks. The dish will easily satisfy a couple or one very hunger solo patron.
J. C.
Yummy, hot food thats been consistent each time I've gone. Service is excellent too! I've suggested friends go after they see my pictures. It can seem a bit pricey but its worth it.
A. M.
Delicious food. If your looking for an incredible burger this is the place to go
P. S.
Tasty, juicy, meat-y. The best burger in my entire life.
J. K.
Had the pastrami burger, which was delicious. The staff were very pleasant and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Loses out on 5 stars because the largest beer size is a schooner. We're not in Australia. Give me an adults glass please.
A. F.
I try to stop in every time I'm in Edinburgh. Great burgers and good atmosphere. The food comes reasonably quickly. A tight space so there are times when a wait is necessary but it's worth it.
C. G.
BMB is one of the best burger restaurants in Edinburgh. I know it's more expensive compared to the main average but the quality is much better than the rest of the other burger restaurants. Staff are very friendly.
Burgers You MUST try:
Lothian Wolf or Sunshine on Beef
And sides:
Sweet Potato Fries or Bacon Chips
R. M.
Bread Meats Bread = deliciousness!
No wonder this place is so busy. Staff are great, though run off their feet.
Only downside is it's a wee bit cramped so not entirely wonderful if you're disabled. Have to say though, staff member did offer to take my crutches away for me, so can't complain there. I'm not one for taking photos of my food but I sure wish I did now
A. O.
Great place with generous portions.
T. F.
Came here without a reservation (would advise to book) and luckily got seated within 5 mins. Would have been happy to wait for longer though. The food we had was very tasty. I had the burger within a donut and we found the portion sizes to have more than plenty and to be very reasonably priced too!
K. R.
Best burgers I've ever had! You must come here! The staff are lovely and this is my favourite place to eat. Been coming here for years and the standards have never dropped. Delicious
F. (.
A little pricey, but worth it. Very good food, prepared very well. The staff were l lovely and helpful, and the food arrived quickly. The milkshakes are very good, but be warned that the 22oz version is a bit of an endeavor.
M. Z.
Probably the best burger in Edinburgh. The place is great, even when there was a queue I never had to wait more than 15 minutes. The burgers are phenomenal, big, juicy and you can tell the meat is prime quality. The sides are huge too. Recommended.
b. y.
One of the best burgers I've ever had would 100% recommend go here. The service was also amazing I got my food before I actually finnished my drink! Also the quality of the food was fantastic as well.
L. R.
Excellent service and delicious food!
S. K.
Very tasty burgers although a bit burnt. Friendly stuff :)
P. P.
Possibly the best burger I have ever tasted. Went on a recommendation. Very friendly staff, could not have done more to accommodate us all. Lively place for a meal.
W. N.
This place seems rather popular and there was a wait for a table, but it wasn't long. The prices were reasonable, the portions were huge by comparison to other places I had been to in Edinburgh. The poutine was good, as was the patty melt toastie I had. Service was excellent.
G. C.
Very busy eatery, so there can be a wait for seating. Once seated service is good. I had the Lothian burger (comes topped cheese, bacon & pulled pork) with bacon & cheese fries ... loved it. Best pulled pork i have tried.
D. M.
In a myriad of burger joints this is one of the better ones. A little more expensive than some, but you're buying quality. Good food helpful and friendly staff. Quick service for the in town crowd.
J. B.
Awesome food, bad service. Waitress literally rolled her eyes when she asked "are you ready to order?" and we said we'd just be a couple of minutes (- having only just sat down!). It was very busy so I understand, but eye-rolling customers is no way to go about...
Burgers were great though, I had the black & blue which was a treat & something I'd certainly never had back home.
B. T.
Amazing service, lovely atmosphere and absolutely amazing food. Will definitely be coming back when we come back to Edinburgh
L. S.
food was really good however very greasy and fries were cut thin so they got cold and dry within five minutes of reaching the table.
they obviously have less greasy food on the menu but you wouldn't go there for a salad.
i ordered their signature burger and it leaked fat at least 100ml worth.
S. C.
Great meal here. Excellent value for money and a very tasty burger. Staff were great. Will definitely be coming back.
T. H.
In the top 3 veggie burgers I've ever eaten - really was that good. And a generous portions of sweet potato fries to go with it which were above average too. Combined with super fast service arguably my favourite meal at the Fringe.
J.
Great burgers. Interesting choices beyond the normal bacon cheeseburger, blue cheese burger etc. Bacon loaded fries were top notch, no scrimping on the bacon here! Decent portion sizes so the prices were reasonable for a lot of eats.
N. M.
The second best fried chicken burger I’ve ever had in my life! Though the place is quite small and my friends and I had to wait for about 5-15mins, it was worth it! Not to mention the price. Superb. Definitely will come again (have tried 3 burgers and none disappointed me) and they have halal options too!
G. B.
Very nice place and friendly staff. The burger is ridiculously good and juicy!! I almost cried as I was eating it!! They have international and Scottish beers, I obviously went for the Scottish one and haven't regretted it!! If you like burgers this is definitely the place you should come to!!
J. H.
Came here for my birthday meal. I haven't been here before. I ordered the cheesey chicken burger and my partner ordered the bbq brisket burger. My "gooey cheese" burger was not very gooey at all really the cheese was a square plonked on top of the chicken. My partners burger wasn't what we ordered however he didn't say anything because we was already too hungry and didn't want to wait. We also ordered some blue cheese fries and coleslaw both of which were quite lovely. The beer was priced very affordably and the wine too. The waiters were very lovely and attentive. It was okay. Probably wouldn't go back though.
S. J.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere.
R. A.
Great local Burger bar. Super staff and nice atmosphere. Burgers and steak sandwiches really tasty, sides excellent. Interesting selection of beers and my kids loved the shakes.
Very generous portion sizes.
O. S.
Amaaaaaaaaazing! One of the best burgers around... Great tasting, meaty burger with good choice of toppings on the menu. Can't book, but the queue moves quickly. Definitely recommend!
J. B.
My favourite burger joint in Edinburgh, great selection of burgers, drinks and sides.
The Lothian wolf one of my regular picks, maple syrup and bacon sweet potato fries are the best!
The beer jugs are good too, although pouring it is a messy affair.
Note that there is often a bit of queue depending of the time of day and they take no bookings. Take away is an option too.
P.
I can see a very successful future for this business. The burgers are very tasty and a great selection of vegan burgers is available too!
The only downside is that it can become quite noisy when the place is full.
B.
Really nice place with a wide variety of burgers and sandwiches. We tried the Luther Burger, the one with a donut in the place of the bun, and it was delicious as aspected! Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy as much the classic poutine, maybe for the lack of the original cheese replaced by regular cheddar.
Anyway very good value for money!
I. M.
Probably the best burger joint in Edinburgh... As well as offering a good range of poutine for our Canadian friends they are the only place I know I f in Edinburgh who serve the burgers slightly pink (just as they should be).
Very well priced with friendly staff and a heck of a lot better than the nearby Byron Burger.
L. R.
This place is a mixture of good and bad. Had some sweet potato fries. They were very tasty.
But the bacon in my burger was very very overdone. It was rock hard and the top part of my burger bun was black burnt on the underside. When the waitress asked me how my food was and I told her all this, she said sorry but did not go to the kitchen to inform the chef.
s. k.
They seemed to panic under the pressure of a busy restaurant, my burger was wrong 3 times. Despite this thought it was an overall really good experience, the manager dealt with my complaint very well and I eventually got probably the best burger I've had in Edinburgh. Plus got a wee discount for the inconvenience.
j. c.
Came here on the weekend with my girlfriend and we were blown away! The food, service and scenery was just amazing in this place. We were seated straight away and the waitress was extremely friendly. The lothian wolf burger is amazing and i highly higgly reccomend the bacon maple sweet potato fries. Unreal
E. H.
Bread meats bread is a great spot for carnivores with a meat heavy menu however they recently introduced a vegan menu which definitely makes it easier to bring those not so carnivorous friends! There is a really large selection of burgers. However for me the stand out is always the bacon fries with beefy mayo, so incredibly good with super crispy and flavourful bacon! The crispy maple syrup sweet potato fries are also brilliant! The staff are always a joy to interact with and service is usually pretty quick. Highly recommend.
a. e.
Good selection of burger-based meals. Very busy and clearly popular but cannot book in advance. Staff very helpful but seem to be under a bit of pressure. Food well presented and good value. Limited selection of drinks.
I. P.
Awesome burgerrrrr accidentally got a larger poutine but was class anyway
V. B.
Overall really nice burgers and fries!
F. Z.
yummy burger!!!but terrible milkshake😑😑😑😑
G. S.
5/5 stars for the food, 10/5 stars for the service. I went on a Saturday night with 2 vegan friends, one of whom has an allergy to garlic. Our servers and their chefs made sure to check our orders, ensuring every component was garlic free - they bothered to cater to our needs, which cannot be said about a lot of restaurants around here. Keep up the good work BMB!
d. k.
Burger and hotdog for take away. Both tasted fine. Small niggle. £3 for chips which were cheap and nasty and at least put a sachet of salt in the bags or salt the chips.
S. B.
It was okay. Originally thought I was going to love it. The lager was really nice. I ordered halloumi fries and a pulled pork and beef burger. I just found it to be bland. Although the menu does look exciting. I might try the chicken next time.
A. M.
Probably the best burger in town. Big portions and great meat quality. It’s a must go if you are in town.
S. E. E.
The food is such good value for money! The burgers are just so so fresh and juicy. We love coming here as a group as one is vegetarian and thete is a great vegan/veggie selection.
It's totally worth the queue. If you look around at other local restaurants they all have empty seats while BMB has a queue out the door.
I do feel sorry for the staff trying to work in such a cramped space although they seen to have a lot of fun and don't mind too much!
B. W.
Fun atmosphere with creative burgers. Very good selection of poutine as well!
T. G.
I really love this place. Can be luck of the draw if you can get a table because it's a busy place but always worth a try. Good selection of drinks and good burgers. Have the sweet potato fries with spicy mayo. They also have a pretty quick turnaround on food if you're in a rush.
A.
Took the family. Kids had the grilled cheese and smashed them so thumbs up from them. The boss had a chicken burger which she rated. I had the Lothian Wolf, which had nice flavour but the beef pattie was surprisingly overcooked. House lager is not worth writing home about either.
R. E.
Great burgers with a good variety. Portions are big but still depends on what you order. Sides are good for sharing. However, for some reason me and my pal got hungry a couple of hours later.
A. J.
Pretty tasty burgers and even their poutine is pretty close to canadian !
K. B.
This place offers fun and unique selections of burgers and sandwiches. I ordered the Spartan burger with a side of halloumi cheese fries. The burger was cooked to perfection with this very messy and delicious spicy sauce. The halloumi was battered and fried with a side of mayo. Everything was delicious. The restaurant itself was packed with a wait. The servers were very friendly and polite
P. A.
Loved it, large portions of quality food and great staff serving. Well worth a look
C. S.
Food is ok, but cleaning can be improved. The waiter looked very puzzled when I asked him to clean the chair so I don't sit on someone elses mess. Also table was not cleaned after previous guests.
Liked the kids menus with drawing activities.
Hot chocolate was not good.
M. G.
I come here every time that Im in Edinburgh. Best of the best.
K. M.
The burger I had was called the Lamburgini. It was clever and delicious.
P. D.
I recently visited BMB in Edinburgh. I must say I was nicely surprised with the vegetarian burger with bacon. It was one of the nicest veggie meals I've ever had when eating out! We also ordered veggie poutin (not sure about the spelling). I can be a difficult client byt Becky, that was our server did everything she could to answer all my questions! Outstanding customer service and really nice food for a decent price! They also have vegan options.
Highly recommended!
D. K.
I had The Wolf and Oreo Milkshake. Very delicious massive burger with juicy pulled pork and very flavourful. The BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering which is the way I like it, but the meat wasn't dry at all. The milkshake too was the right consistency, just the right amount of flavour, the only thing is they don't have thick straws so it was tricky getting the little oreo bits. I would totally recommend this place to any meat lover!
M. W.
Had a lovely meal, with good service
C. R.
Good burgers in general, rarely am I served a dry or overcooked burger. However, on the occasions that I am, they are very dry. I must reiterate this is a rarity.
The milkshakes and delicious. No faulting them.
The poutine, could be better. Would benefit from more fries, and a better cheese curd. Gravy is okay, would appreciate it more meaty tasting. One powerful not was the overwhelming pepper seasoning. The salt to pepper ratio was way off. Would calm down a little with that.
P. R.
By the beard of Zeus was the food good. We didn’t have to wait too long to get seated and the food came in good time.
Had the Lothian Wolf burger and it was packed with meaty juiciness.
Loved the buzz in the place too.
M. C.
Really great little place. Awesome food, low prices and great staff.
r. b.
Great range of burgers, lovely chips, burger buns are nice and soft, toppings were great, but this is the second time I have been and the burger, arguably the reason you go, has seemed like a frozen burger thrown on the grill, with hard bits on the outside and seemingly tasteless in the middle.
Disappointing if the toppings didn't distract from that letdown.
B. S.
The pulled pork was delicious. My friends had the halloumi fries, the vegan bacon cheese burger and the black and blue burger. All of which were great. I ordered a poutine that was too peppery for my taste and they offered to remove it from my bill.
Great staff
Great food
Great customer service
I would definitely come back :)
G. T.
First time at this eatery, not all burger places are equal, I've had a lot of very ordinary burgers but BREAD is one of the better ones, I will definitely return not only for the tasty burger but for the vast choice available, excellent.
M. A.
Very interesting place to try the real Angus burger, a real Scottish delight :)
K. B.
Brilliant food really friendly and helpful staff would highly recommend
M. P.
Delicious burguers, freshly made and very tasty. Definitely the best burger I've ever had!! Must try with milkshake. Very friendly staff and nice environment.
B. L.
I was a bit nervous that bread meats bread wouldn't live up to reviews, but I shouldn't have been worried. The place is done out nicely and the staff are really friendly (I'm sorry our rubbish math meant we didn't leave a bigger tip :( ) The food was incredible and the portions were really generous, there's loads of inventive varieties so I just wish you had a London branch so I could come back!
T. E.
I had a burger with pepperami and the pepperami was like those red buttons you get on cheap pizzas. The food was still good overall though. Service was bubbly. Recommend this place, but its lost a tiny bit wee sparkle since it first opened.
Z. H.
Go here for the perfect carb-filled, food-coma inducing meal. Absolutely delicious! Quick service and friendly staff. Lots of options to choose from. Make sure you are really hungry when you go because the portion sizes are very generous!!! :) Nice to know that Bread Meats Bread source all their ingredients locally too. Will visit again!
F. M. A.
The perfect diner for your night in edinburgh. I ate two Delicious burgers in a soft bun, with sweet potatoes sides. The service is nice and fast and the menu is full of innovative meals. Keep it going !
J. H.
Wow. Excellent. Monster portions that are well prepared. We had poutine and pulled mutton sandwiches and they were fantastic. Good service, friendly even though they were quite busy. Highly recommend.
R. P.
Always great burgers and poutine. Staff are great. Milkshakes are good. Small but good craft beer selection. Always busy but staff are efficient and accommodating so the wait isn't too long.
K. C. (.
GO HERE. Out of three nights, we went twice to try different burgers. Taste - absolutely amazing, we went twice enough said. Value - after a week and a half in the UK we were shocked at how low the process were relative to the portion size. Service - staff is friendly, told it'd be a 10 minute wait and it was, for everyone who walked in the door because they get food out fast, but you definitely don't feel like you're being pushed out as some busy pages do.
As a Texan I've had so many burgers from so many places. I've never had a burger this good and I don't think I ever will unless I come back here. You may think, I'm in Scotland I shouldn't eat a burger, but your so wrong. After you have it, you'll smack yourself for almost taking yourself out of it.
We tried the: Lothian wolf, pulled pork sandwich, butter bacon, pastrami burger, chips.
E. T.
After all the hype about the place and the long queue I expected muc more. Quality-wise the meat in Five Guys is better and tastier, the bun was chewey and the waitresses' "enthusiasm" didn't help to swallow it. Definitively better than McDonalds but there are better options.
J. H.
Decent chicken and cheese burger but it falls apart easily but that may just be my poor burger eating technique 😬. Also had the small poutine which was kind if disappointing. The cheese wasn't that squeaky and the gravy tastes a bit off. Overall a decent experience
T. B.
Nice spot. Pretty good amount of options on the menu. Bacon cheeseburger was very good. Milkshake was awesome. Service was fast. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
K. H.
Honestly best burger I've ever had and brilliant choice for vegetarian/vegan friend. Generous portions of sides and very well priced for the quality. Cannot recommend enough definitely visit!!
M. M.
Bread Meats Bread is one of my favourite burger places. They have an original menu with things you won't find anywhere else, friendly staff who give great service and a buzzing atmosphere. They've successfully brought a winning formula through from Glasgow which is no mean feat and they've swiftly become one of my go-to restaurants in the City Centre.
Z. B.
Amazing! I would gladly travel all the way back to Edinburgh just to eat here again!
E.
Pretty good burgers although sightly overcooked in my opinion. The poutine was good but I've had better (have to admit that was in Canada). Can be really noisy and crowded but still a great place for a good burger.
B. B.
It had been some months since I had visited, BMW had undergone a refurb in that time period. Still the same great place for quality burgers and more, my favourite burger place in Edinburgh. Fabulous milkshakes too, and the staff are always bright and cheerful.
T. C.
Beautiful place best burger ever
M. W. (.
Absolutely loved it! Great value for money.
R. V.
Had to wait a little longer than expected to have our order taken, but I think they thought me and my friend were on a date so that's nice that they gave us space! Food was incredible, everything was cooked perfect and we didnt have to wait long for our food!
L. M.
Service was amazing! Quick and accommodating. My veggie burger was excellent and my friends fried chicken and beef looked amazing. Would absolutely recommended recommend.
M. S.
The bbq pulled pork sandwich was great! Enough for two people too <3
A. K.
I visited this place for lunch when several colleagues left the company. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced the food was for a city centre location, there was a good range of burgers with some vegetarian options available too. The food was cooked to order, was well prepared, fresh and there was plenty of it. There was also a good choice of drinks on offer. Recommended.
V. A.
Got the order wrong but nice overall
T. R.
Burgers and stuff, but fantastically well done (I don't mean overcooked!). Be aware though, the portions of the side dishes are way too big for one person, so consider sharing :) Bustling atmosphere, gets pretty busy so you may have to wait but the staff are excellent - very friendly and professional - highly recommended!
C. M.
Good food and friendly staff. Despite the name, there are quite a few vegetarian dishes.
They are also very accomodating. I have trouble digesting peppers and this one dish that I wanted came with peppers in the sauce. I mentioned it to the server and the picked all the peppers out. Amazing! Will come again :)
I. B.
Friendly and cozy place. Usually crowded but the food is really delicious. Staff a bit "used to work" there and don't always pay much attention but they're really friendly as well. Give a try if you're in Edinburgh for a great dinner :)
L. C.
This place is amazing, they cater for all with normal burgers as well as vegan and gluten free, can't remember if there is a veggie option but I'm sure there will be. I recommend trying the chips with vegan bacon and spicy mayo.
M.
The burgers here are great, as is the famous poutine. There is a great selection of toppings and sides as well. The staff are friendly and attentive.
L. F.
Scrumptious burgers and delicious homemade chips! What more could you ask for!
B. Ď.
Lovely and cosy place, great quality of food, wide range for you to choose from. If you bite once, you'll never want to go anywhere else for burgers. It's lit!!!!
M. B.
The BBQ mushroom burger was one of the best vegetarian burger I ever had! The caramelised sweet potato were incredible! A great experience, the service was great even for a group of 9 people.
C. G.
Excellent food, good prices, very helpful and friendly staff and a good selection on the menu to choose from. The staff pointed out that the poutine section was actually for full sized meals as opposed to sides, but gave us mini versions of the poutine we wanted which was amazing. Felt absolutely stuffed afterwards, shame I didn't have room for a milkshake as they looked amazing as well! Would highly recommend to everyone.
N. W.
Nice burger place, nothing bad. Atmosphere was pretty nice. Customer service was fine, except that at the checkout they said that we didnt pay but we already did and it took a bit to clear it up.
C. B.
Really nice food, and service is great. Too many covid restrictions though, I want to be able to go out for a meal without being bombarded with plastic screens all around me
L. D.
Really loved eating here! It had a nice vibe and great staff. I had the halloumi toastie and the sweet potato fries. Definitely recommend the toastie, and the fries were pretty good. Really big portions, so make sure you are ready for that!
A. C.
Great burgers freshly made to order. good price for a city centre restaurant. We went as a group and the staff looked after us.
We will definitely be back.

"Maple Bacon Sweet Potato Fries" - Never thought I'd see so many words I love in a menu item.
I've heard rumors about this place which resulted in having high expectations. It exceeded all of them!
S. M.
The food in this place is incredible! My only complaint is that there aren't enough obvious vegetarian choices. Lots of vegan or meat, but if you happen to be veggie then you may be negotiating your meal, especially when it comes to poutine.
