Reviews of Brewhemia
V. B.
Lovely restaurant. Mac and Cheese was good but the sauce could have been cheesier. Excellent drinks menu and the coconut rice pudding was yummy. Great location as it is right opposite the train station. It is huge inside with great live music and fabulous decor. Only downside is when group bookings cannot be guaranteed to be sat together.

Interesting, overall positive experience at this place two nights in a row..
First night was for dinner. The cavernous interior was quiet and subdued that night and we dined able to chat in the very dog restaurant space. I enjoyed the steak cooked on a rock at my table and found it relatively affordable for what you got.
Second night was for a drink and it was like a whole new establishment. Packed to the brim, live music, etc. Couldn't believe it was the same spot I was in 24 hours previously..
Friendly staff, decent food options, great interior design and clearly a popular spot in general. Mostly good things to say although I will add that the pints can be pricey (though unique!) and some of the food sounded a bit better than it tasted..
Happy to return if I'm ever in the area.. Quick side note - it's a bit hard to find if you're up on the Royal Mile with the current bridge construction. Easily accessed through Waverley station, or along the Scotsman Stairs..

Brewhemia is a very popular, lovely venue which is well worth a visit.
Attended as a group of 8 (thankfully having booked ahead, which is essential) and had a great time. The menu is absolutely spot on and delivers exactly what you'd want and more, with a creator twist and high quality ingredients.
The schnitzels are fantastic as are the self-cook steaks, which really add to the experience.
The beer selection is top notch and they're well-kept. Guest beers appear in copper tanks above the bar and are labelled with extra information like how far away it was brewed, which was interesting to see.
Staff were very attentive and friendly, in spite of the venue being absolutely rammed full on the night that we visited. Food was served quickly, too.
I would definitely recommend a visit to Brewhemia when you're in Edinburgh.

Stopped in at Brewhemia across from Waverley Station while waiting for the midnight sleeper train. A reservation was required due to it being a busy Friday night, so we sat at the bar for a drink while waiting for our reservation. We were seated in a comfortable both and ordered a glass of wine to share. To eat we shared the North Sea Fish & Chips and a side of MAC & CHEESE. The menu really needs an refresh as the venue gives the appearance of an upscale pub but the menu is German food with a bit of everything mixed in. We asked the waitstaff about the desserts and they said it was a pass as they are not usually ordered. We tried a dessert anyone, still not sure what it was called, but it was a no to appeasing. The service he was really great and the atmosphere is nice.trip

Brewhemia is located in central Edinburgh in Market Street and offers a great venue for a good night out. A good choice of quality food and drinks. Live entertainment is provided by a band located above one of the bars. Female dancers clothed in 1960's styled clothing dance and hop around the customers tables which adds to the entertainment. Customers were also noted dancing on the wooden benches in the restaurant which added to the fun. A live singer also hopped on to a table and gave a great rendition of a classic Blondie song. Will definitely be back at Brewhemia.

Quirky, fun decor with incredible food and drinks! I was a little intimidated by the disclaimers when making a reservation because it mentioned a dress code, and we like to be casual. It was totally fine though, and we would definitely eat here again. Highly recommend the house schnitzel!

Apart from the name and the lack of Stornaway black pudding it is a really nice place.
Food great and great choice.
Not as pretentious as it sounds (well at least it isn't for brunch) nice staff.
For elderly people please note that the toilets are down a spiral staircase and to my knowledge there isn't a lift.

Brewhemia was a good experience and is a must try if in Edinburgh. The location of the cafe/bar is directly opposite Edinburgh Waverley train station. When entering we were greeted by a friendly staff member however he became less friendly when we said we were only visiting for drinks and bar snacks.
The staff behind the bar were really friendly and happy to help with anything. We were slightly disappointed when two of the drinks we wanted were not available however the drink we did get were amazing. The flavours and uniqueness were top notch. Were ordered two bar snacks, bangers and truffle fries both exceptional again.
For the amount of food we received I do think it was over priced. We paid £8 for 6 small pieces of sausage.
The ascetic of the place was beautiful and would highly recommend visiting especially on an evening when they have a special event on.

Amazing place and amazing staff the girl which was serving us was very helpful and friendly and recommended the best dishes to us! I would recommend to give it a try! Nice place to hangout with friends and family! Would love to come again ☺️
K. F. B.
My friend had booked us a table and we were there a little early but they seated us earlier. We had a dog with us and they treated him so nicely, giving him treats and offering water. The food was absolutely delicious and huge portions!
We both had the Flat White Martini’s and they were gorgeous. Really creamy! Staff were very attentive and friendly. The live singers was a surprise but huge plus! Brewhemia has a really good atmosphere, and it’s literally on Waverley’s door step.

Wow.
Brewhemia is must when you are in Edinburgh. Across the road from Edinburgh Waverley railway station Brewhemia ticks all the boxes adding a little Bohemian nostalgia.
The staff were really friendly and brought a couple of taster beers for me to test before I made my decision.
I had the Jaegerschnitzel which was stunning and cooked to perfection. The bar / restaurant has got a great vibe and I would most certainly recommend a visit. I know I will be going back again..

Visited few weeks ago. Very climatic place. Fancy champagne bells on the wall. Good food with massive portions (good value for money).
Service a bit slow and messed up: we had 3 servers during 60 mins lunch, we waited for 1st one a bit too long for this class of establishment, we didn't got check-back on food quality, service could get some training.
Overall good place to stay you evening in Edi 👍🙂

Wow!! What an awesome venue. Popped in for a couple of drinks as we were stopping off overnight before a big night in London. Thanks to Brewhemia the night in Edinburgh will now be seen as the big night out! Entertainment from the moment we arrived until the very last minute before closing. Dancers, musicians, a band, folks on stilts all set in a huge venue with rooms off the main event if you were looking for a quiet one. Good range of draught beers and I'm reliably informed the wine was also lovely. Had grabbed a bite to eat before we stopped in and wished we'd held off the plates going by our table looked and smelled amazing. We're already planning our next venture through to Edinburgh with friends and this is the hottest spot in town!
m. w.
Awesome location and atmosphere, which brought us in for a midday beer. We were expecting a bit more beer options given the name but they had cask beer available which was neat to try. Would likely come back to try the cocktails and food as both looked appealing.
Only negative is that while we were there they were doing some work on the back bar. I get it needs to be done but the banging of ripping out shelving was a bit too much.
F. B.
On arrival around 11:15 we were immediately met/followed by a member of staff wanting to know if we were going to order food. Having shaken her off we headed upstairs for a coffee which was why we came here, inky to be greeted by a cafeteria with only one other guest, yet with all the best tables reserved. Upon enquiring we were informed these were reserved for guests not due to arrive until after 12:00....? How about those who are here now? Don't we count? Then, having found some seats to the rear where live music wad being played, we were informed we could not sit there as the bar there was not open? Downstairs bar was, but not upstairs! So back to the front to be reluctantly given seats on a (reserved) sofa. Talk about not feeling welcome! Coffee was delicious, but the reception frosty at best.
E. L.
Love the foods and the entertainment, and the staff who served us on sunday was so polite. A great place to unwind with your friends. Good value for money.

Brewhemia what an amazing place, it looks beautiful from the outside and doesn't disappoint on the inside. Came here for a birthday treat with my girlfriend and ordered king prawns for starters and they did not disappoint they were so tasty and flavoursome, then we moved on to the main. I had the sirloin steak and my girlfriend had the venison haunch, and this was the first I have had steak served on a hot stone so you can cook it to how you like it, rather than putting in the hands of a chef. I thought this was amazing and again was so tasty, would highly recommend trying to anyone. Then I moved on to dessert which was apfelkücherl, which is battered apple slices rolled in cinnamon and seved with ice cream, it came with a massive flair in it as the waitress noticed I had a birthday badge on lol. The waitress could not have been more helpful the service was great and didn't have to wait long between courses and as it was a Saturday night was very busy. Would highly recommend Brewhemia to anyone thinking about going.
M. O.
An unbelievable experience. We went for a gentleman's afternoon tea and it was stunning. This place is an absolute must if you're in Edinburgh. Great choice of beer, a beautiful setting and food that is out of this world.
S. P.
Excellent service and the breakfast was the best I've ever eaten, quality cuts of meat and tasted fresh. If I lived locally this would be my local. The pianist was amazing too with a beautiful voice.
S.
Great vibes, excellent food, and friendly service. We had a lovely chill evening here and really enjoyed the friendly staff and food choices. The food is a bit different to your usual and there are plenty of GF options. Our server Rachel was so lovely and had some excellent suggestions for us - her pudding suggestion was the cinnamon apples and they are amazing! Great for a few drinks with friends or a nice dinner. We ended up staying the whole evening as we didn't want to move on!! Big recommend if in Edi.
M. J.
Ideally located if your coming off the train or waiting on a train. Great choice of beers. Didn't eat but the food looked good.
Clean, tidy, staff friendly.
C. C.
Lovely friendly staff and brilliant service.
Tasty food available at out meet and greet event.
Amazing decor 😍
S.
It's a nice spacious place to visit for a drink. Lots of different areas with decor to suit everyone. We had lunch which I felt was over priced for the portion sizes. If you order the Haus schnitzel, it comes on its own, no chips. Seemed a lot for £14.
Extensive drinks menu, lots to choose from. Service was friendly and efficient.

Booked a table for 3 on Saturday for my Mum's birthday Afternoon Tea. From first impressions the venue it's self is stylish and with a cosy atmosphere. We were seated on the balcony overlooking the main floor and bar. Seats were plush and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly. Explained the drinks system and went over what we would expect from our time there. Cocktails were ordered each had a fun name and all tasted amazing!
Even the flaming one was cool as they do a little magic trick for the flame. The prices were reasonable too.
The Afternoon tea it's self was delightful, again the waitress carefully explained what every item on the trays were. Each tasted so good! The tea's were also nice and we all picked earl grey. The staff are very attentive and would ask how things were, if we were ok, enjoying ourselves. A extra special suprise for my Mum was when the staff came out with a small plate decorated with chocolate and sweet treats saying happy birthday. A beautiful touch for a great day. Overall for pricing and experience I would love to be able to give more than 5 stars. We will most likely rebook and come back again!

After NYE being cancelled in Edinburgh, Brewhemia turned our £260 group deposit into a tab for us to enjoy at a table. We ordered a few starters and plenty of drinks. The bar staff were energetic and fun and the place had a good atmosphere at midnight.
P. B.
Good place for live music and massive selection of beers and whisky. The venue is huge, but if you want to get a seat at the weekend it’s best to book in advance. Drinks are expensive but on par with city centre prices. Right next to the train station too, so good place to go and get the last train home.
T. T.
Went for a drink whilst waiting for our train. Very friendly, efficient, helpful staff. Ordered a bombay sapphire gin, served in a lovely glass with all the trimmings, fantastic. Wish we could have stayed longer, lovely atmosphere food looked fab. Thankyou we will be back
K. J.
Absolutely fantastic, what an atmosphere! Food, company and entertainment was second to none, staff friendly and attentative, brilliant venue
R.
Lovely decor good range of food and drink also some lovely tank fresh beer. I had the hot dog and sweetcorn ribs but they were pretty disappointing far too much BBQ sauce and it was far to sweet really ruined the meal and I didn't eat much of it. Staff were friendly enough. Bit pricey don't think I will rush back here.
L. E.
Great night out again. Meal I felt was not worth the money but it was still a good setup (hence the drop in half stars). Entertainment is always spot on from Miss Cairey 😂
All staff were great and attentive, even the bouncers who had to pull someone out for being unruly, well done lads.
Place was clean, although noone was monitoring the toilets so they were pretty bad. (there's the other half star gone)
All in all we will be back for another festive night. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks

Really great options for beer. I was in Edinburgh for 3 days, and went there on all 3 days. My favourite there is the blue moon beer on tap, while my husband really liked Stratopramen. We didn't have enough time to eat a full meal, but had some onion rings (which I wouldn't recommend as they were too oily); and some sausages, and truffle fries, both of which were great!
Next time I go, would love to try some more food along with my blue moon =)
G.
Went for brunch at 11am, using a pre-paid gift option. Had the breakfast (Rabbies Breakfast, available before midday), my other half had the Brewhemia Bennys. Was a great brekkie, they provided ketchup and brown sauce (on request) but it was so tasty I didn't use it, in fact I was so busy eating that I'd forgotten I'd even had the sauces until half way through.
I can't really fault the food. No point criticising any of it when at the end of the day I cleaned the plate. Stand out on the dish were the bacon and the sausage. Toasted sourdough was just a teeny bit tough for the knife supplied.
We also had a few Bloody Mary's which we chose to be an 8 out of 10 for spice. Was quite spicy but I would try a 10 next time. 8 is probably enough for most people though.
Interior looks great, it was quiet when we went (on opening) which I prefer when eating, music was a touch loud but not enough to interrupt normal talking volume. We also happened to be sitting quite close to the speakers so make of that what you will.
Gets busy in the evenings as it's a well known place just opposite one of the Waverley Station exits.
Shout out to Beatriz for a great, friendly service who was charming and chilled out, exactly what you need on a Sunday morning!
They were currently on reservation only, so call and check the process before just turning up.
k. t.
We has afternoon tea .Every item was fresh and tastes delightful. The staff were very informative and helpful from explaining the courses to being very pleasant to our child. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting ba relaxing break from a busy day
E. B.
Came back for the bloody Mary bar and was not disappointed. Great breakfast menu and early live music
K. B.
I attended the restaurant last night and proposed to my soon to be wife. The food was amazing, the atmosphere in there was fantastic and it really made it a night to remember.
The staff were great, they didn't do the cocktails that my partner liked but they made it up for her anyway. All the staff were friendly and made the experience so amazing.
I will definitely be visiting again.
H. B.
Food was nice. Atmosphere was good but it was SO NOISY. The waitress couldn't hear us when we tried to order and we couldn't hear each other when trying to have a conversation. Live music at 7pm in a restaurant may not be the best choice. It was quieter in the bar area so we stayed there after eating
R. L.
Excellent, food was delicious and the fresh beer was absolutely amazing! I ate currywurst with truffle fries 😋👌.
Really enjoyed my vist and will be going back when in the area next.
S. B.
It was mobbed the Saturday afternoon we visited. A massive venue near to Edinburgh Waverley station with no noted car parking. For a venue this size they try to be efficient but I noted a lot of staff members standing around chatting to each other. Large screens and bench tables for the rugby made it not a convivial atmosphere. To book a table we had to pay a substantial deposit against the drinks bill but this may be a standard thing in Edinburgh. Food was okay but expensive. Not major negatives, but would I rush back? No, probably not.
J. A.
Tough to beat this place for entertainment but the downside is the bar staff that are just plain poor across the board. Don't keep track of who is next, just work their way up and down, causing extensive waits for some. Need to look at bars like the Alchemist where the staff operate at a much higher level, using their own common sense and memory to keep track of who has been waiting, who is next to be served, hell, they even handle more than one order at a time. If the bar staff delivered at the same level as the entertainment here it would be 6 stars out of 5.
K. T.
I'd not expected much more than a fun girlie lunch & was overwhelmed by the service & atmosphere! The menu was varied, as was the drinks menu... but mostly our waitress, Morgan, made it a very special lunch. Nothing was too much of a problem for her, and she handled it really well when not when all our menu requests were available. Based on my experience I'll definitely be going back.
W.
Great atmosphere, only nipped in for a quick pint before dinner. Place was very busy. Good beer selection
L. B.
Love that they have Schofferhofer on tap and my friends loved the beer flights! Really pleasant atmosphere and comfy seats. Not the cheapest but I’d recommend for some drinks with friends as it’s such a large, pretty venue with so many drinks options!
J. M.
Really good food and friendly staff , Only objection I have is we seemed to be forgotten about a few times after they took our drinks order.
At one point it took about 20 minutes for then to arrive , Free water that kept getting filled up was really nice though and I think contributed to my lack of hangover so that was appreciated 🙂
I think in retrospec I should have just used the app and it night have been my fault however we where told it was not an issue to get table service.
M. O.
Ordered two mains. One of them was chicken kebab. Arrived after about 10 minutes which is great. Unfortunately it wasn't even warm... Chicken Schnitzel was pre cooked and very quickly reheated. Didn't bother to complain as we didn't have much time before train.
Service was prompt and beer was nice.
M. D.
What a fantastic venue, not at all what I expected. A real gem in the centre of Edinburgh. We were served by Morgan who was a complete star.
P. C.
What a fab place, staff really friendly and very informative about their drinks. Cocktails are amazing and good was lovely too.
H. M.
Absolutely loved our afternoon tea and they catered well for dietary requirements as I am vegetarian. Staff weren't very attentive to customers and we waited 30 mins after finishing our food for another drink. We weren't offered tea or coffee with our afternoon tea, only after we had finished.
M. T.
Great atmosphere and food. Would recommend Brewhemia for afternoon tea .
H. W.
Such a cool place, great vibe. Had a lovely Sunday lunch after another place we booked round the corner let us down. Turned out better!
S. M.
Great drinks and food. Drink presentation awesome, and mushrooms delicious.
Live music was great and the waitstaff friendly.
The place is plenty large too, so could possibly host a decent crowd.
Cheers
C. N.
Terrific restaurant in a prime location in downtown Edinburgh. Seconds walk from Waverly train station. The venison stew was phenomenal. Solid beer list too.
L. L.
Absolutely love this place! Been a few times when we visit Edinburgh and never disappoints, staff are super friendly and live music is always amazing! Love it!
G. D.
Such an attractive bar with lots of space and great staff who are always keen to serve with a smile.
Only small issue is no Tennents Lager on tap but nothing is ever perfect.
Will definitely be back for food and drinks.
M. W.
Wow wow wow, stumbled across this hidden gem, food was amazing the staff where friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend 👍👍
S. B.
Huge restaurant bar although we did not eat the food looked good. We had a fab time listening to live music. The atmosphere was great and people were dancing. Would go back for a meal next time
I. S.
What a spectacular place!
The outside is the first thing you see and it’s really impressive!
The inside upholds the initial image! A shiny and modern bar with a large selection of beer, wines, gins and other spirits.
J. F.
Weary from a 5 hour train ride from London, Brewhemia welcomed us right across from Waverly station. The hostess happily stowed our bags, allowing us to unwind with drinks. The bar staff was friendly and funny. This is a popular happy hour spot, so there are plenty of people watching opportunities.
H. S.
Quite expensive for the portion sizes, very slow service, restaurant was quite Cold and many drinks weren’t available. The Food tasted nice though, shnitzel is recommended.
S. J.
Loved it inside here they have different rooms with different themes although you might have to book them. Wr sat in the main bar area which was still really nice. Would love to go back and maybe get into one of the themed rooms.
F. R.
What a weird experience! We got there at 20:15, main food didn't arrive until around 21:20, and by that time a brass band was in full swing! The performer stood on our table, wearing dirty trainers, while we were trying to finally eat. It was quite disgusting and disappointing, and he trod on my white jacket.
I told this issue to a member of staff (wearing a waistcoat so I assumed some authority) and he was condescending, telling me "that's just how we do things here, " which isn't really addressing the issue, and being rude.
Luckily we had 20% off with a code, and we got some free shots to make up for this event, but surely you understand that dirty shoes right next to a couple eating is a bad idea? It was revolting.
I also felt bad for the other group on our table, who were eating steak during this - an expensive meal to have ruined.
The main dancing was due to start around 22:15, and it would have been a different story if we only had drinks, but the food was an issue. Bad timing for it to arrive, then eating it on a dirty table is not ideal.
T. P.
Amazing service and experience. I'd bought an Itison voucher for Afternoon Tea to share with a friend and was expecting a nice time. The place exceeded that. The staff were all friendly and professional, the food was great, the atmosphere was great, there was no pressure to order or to leave, and we had a brilliant time. I would go back in a heartbeat, such a good time
M. B.
No doubt the best brunch place with the loveliest staff in Edinburgh! Gorgeous food and coffee! 🥰
M. M.
Amazing food but there was no German beer available
R. (.
Located facing Waverly Station Market Street Exit. Good vegan options. Gluten Free Bagels available. Full vegan breakfast was delicious. Service was great.
L. S.
This place is a beer lovers dream! Its huge and the atmosphere is great. Fantastic selection of beers, ales and ciders etc. The cocktails are also great if thats more to your tastes.
Only 2 regrets, I didnt spend longer there and I didnt eat there (the food looked great!!)
J. K.
We had great time with my partner. Great Cullen and selection of alcohol. We will back there.
W. D.
Had a really great time here. The food is really good and at a reasonable price. This place is ideal for a date or to go with your group of friends. It's a nice way to start your night out if you want to go for food and be close to the nightlife. Quite a lot of stag do's and hen do's seem to go here.
The only negative was that our friend wasn't allowed in as they labelled his dress code as fancy dress and he had to go and change. So just don't wear anything too much out there in case you can't get in.
P. G.
I posted a picture of a plate I had at Brehemia. Its empty. You know why? Because it was soo good I devoured it all. Had fish and chips and it was spot on. The selection of beers is exciting and if you're not ready to try something new, go for the classics. The venue is large with multiple floors and a lot of sitting place. We were sat quite quickly and the staff were friendly, the place was children friendly (includes children menu). Overall I admit it was superb. I'll be back!
R. F.
Amazing food and great service. Would highly recommend!
G. S.
Loved this place sat at bar on my own bar staff very chatty and friendly knew their beers, great choice of beers
P. S.
Was a Mamma Mia night, which was great If only there hadn't been 2 girls sat on our table talking, or rather shouting to each other, trying to get above the music, all night. Really don't know why they bothered. The staff were brilliant though. Shame about some other customers.
E. R.
Gorgeous gin and tonic in large glass with beautiful decoration and premium tonic for under £7. That’s really amazing. Lovely setting and lush lighting. Very friendly staff. Great place to stop if getting a train.
d. k.
Smashing and well designed interior. All staff were fabulous and eager to help ,guide you to the table and take drink / meal order.
Very atmospheric, would recommend to all .
M. Y.
Really nice setting, right next to the train station so extremely good for a pre travel bite.
Having said that, make sure you go there promptly as service isn't the fastest, but if you go on the upper floor where they only serve drinks, ready made sandwiches and desserts, you should be fine.
M. M.
Superb food and a great selection of beers. Our server Morgan was friendly and very attentive to our needs both with serving our orders and ensuring we were comfortable. We would definitely return 👌
k. a.
Fun experience in the restaurant with the themed entertainment. Started early though and was quite loud when your still trying to tuck into yir dinner 😁. Bar area was more relaxed and very good layout and the place does look great, lots of quirky things to see, with a friendly atmosphere and great staff. All in all will defo be back 👌
S. H.
Great location opposite Waverley Train Station.
Good mix of drinks and food with a variety of different bars located in different settings inside.
Can be busy at night though.
L.
Had dinner before a concert then went back thw next day for brunch before the train home. Both times food and service was really good. Will definitely go back next time I'm staying in Edinburgh
K. S.
Busy place but interesting atmosphere and good food. Not the cheapest but not bad value either. Table service was slow as it was so busy. Unfortunate but not the staffs fault, they were very helpful.
C. M.
Came about this place by chance looking for a place that serves a full Scottish breakfast. Great food, service and great music. Definitely will be back the next time we are back in Edinburgh
L. D.
Fantastic place! Great service, amazing food and live singers.
W. T.
Great place with a huge variety of drinks ,food , friendly staff .Will return many times
G. R.
Obviously one of the places to be BUT my goodness you need very deep pockets. Bottle Prosecco? £35.00 !! Half pint equivalent non-alcohol beers-£5 ( nearly £10 a pint! ) No alcohol remember!!
Food was ok . Service was good and the staff worked real hard but be prepared to wait for the food and, of course, drink more!
Food no more than average but catering for huge numbers. Think beer-kelllar with food.
Great atmosphere and very big inside spaces! Was there for a party but drink prices were something else. The CIDER was excellent though!
Probably just not my scene and better for younger well paid clientele. Seen it, done it. Don't feel the need to go again
J. D.
Amazing place, best place we went to on out trip to Edinburgh by far. Food was delicious, great atmosphere in the bar and good service.
J. L.
Well that was one helluva first night out out! Loved it. Drinks good, food fine but the music and atmosphere are what makes it!
D. O.
Decided to stop in here for some breakfast on my day trip to Edinburgh recently. The service and food were amazing! The restaurant is clean and follows covid restrictions well. I will definitely be back here again in the near future.
I. P.
I was here with my daughters for cocktails after a night at the theatre. It was absolutely fantastic and will be back again. They honestly create an experience for all ages.

Fab night!
Staff were friendly & helpful. Food was amazing, atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend
A. G.
It was nice and quiet when I was in. Very plush, much nicer than my usual haunts. Doing the covid stuff was a bit of a faff. Instead of having the NHS Scotland QR code at the door for quick check in, their QR code takes you to a form which I'm sure will be harvested for marketing purposes.
The beer choices were ok and I enjoyed the Scottish craft beer flight. The currywurst was very good.
G. D.
Absolutely loved my dinning experience from beginning to end! Staff were all amazing and so lovely. Food was out of this world.
P. R.
Came for Gentleman's afternoon tea. Brought the Dog, service was excellent, food was fantastic, this is now my new favourite place! Thank you, we'll be back soon!
A. M.
We had the best meal of our trip at Brewhemia (and that’s saying something)! The atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant - there was live music when we were there which I’m not usually a fan of, but this particular singer was very good! The staff were very attentive throughout. We had an issue where two of the meals we ordered weren’t available but they were very apologetic and gave us a free round of drinks and took one of the meals off the bill. The food was delicious as well. I would thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely return next time I’m in Edinburgh.
H. C.
Huge and very busy place. Good atmosphere. Ensure you book a table! Could do with more staff to clear tables.
A.
Very pretty pub right next to Waverly station!
Stopped here for lunch, quite a range of food on offer, a tad bit pricier than other places but not by too much. Tried the sundried tomato and pesto pizza which was great! Awesome service and cute decor with all the flowers everywhere. Can stop in for coffee, food or drinks! I appreciated the generous amount of sun-dried tomatoes on the pizza!
J. S.
Massive venue, on multiple floors. Spacious, with cosy areas.
An extensive selection of beers, but the focus of my visit was Afternoon Tea !
It was delicious & very filling... "doggy bags" or boxes are provided to take home what you do not finish!
O. A.
Amazing atmosphere , the building is pretty unique and staff was super friendly. However we ordered a salad with smoked salmon for 13£ days and and there was barely any salmon , the "dressing" was oil basically. The other thing we ordered was the vegetatian mushroom pie for about 15£, the pot was filled halfway and there was only one mushroom in it, the rest was sweet potatoes. Definitely felt we were paying more for the location and the huge amout of staff than the actual food, maybe we ordered the wrong dishes
L. C.
Good for a Saturday of drinks definitely not an afternoon coffee. Location truly strategic across the side exit of Waverly Station
S. B.
My company came up from London for a Christmas party and had a fantastic time! The cocktails and the buffet were great. They have a really good selection of both. We stayed for a whiskey tasting where we also madebour own infused gin. They lost a star there, but that was because the guy running hadn't done the tasting before so it sort of meandered. But if you're just going for food and drinks, this place is worthbyour time.
V. A.
Good food, GREAT staff, and perfect location on Market Street across from Edinburgh Waverley. Also a clever menu and tasty beers!
R. C.
Cool bar with live music and entertainment. Food was great. The staff were all lovely and friendly in particular our waiter Carlos.
R. S.
Holy moly is this place expensive! Only ordered 3 drinks (not cocktails) and I was £32! Nice atmosphere and quick service at the bar, but Edinbugh drinks prices are beyond ridiculous now.
H.
Excellent food, breakfast was incredible - massive sausages! Decent beer as well and lovely staff providing great service.
J. S.
Great beer selection, super convenient to the train station. Great place to get your bearings when you arrive and need a snack and a drink.
J. W.
Fabulous staff and food. We had stein tea which was lovely. Can't wait to try the Gentlemen's afternoon tea next.
A. G.
Very nice bar with live music and the downstairs turns into a little dance floor later in the night and great staff Alexander was especially helpful and friendly, only issue is its very expensive but a great place and if you can afford it why go anywhere else
H. H.
Yummy avo on toast and great coffee and a pint! Was a lovely visit whilst in Edinburgh - cool place.
A. N.
A very good place to eat, drink and relax, with a live music this place is amazing. Staff is very professional, they always smile and feel you welcome. The prices are a bit high, but you pay for an amazing atmosphere. I really recommend Brewhemia🥘🍷🍻😊
E. D. S.
Delicious food -great / friendly staff and super quick service! Well organised restaurant!!!! Thank you very much! 🤗
K. J.
The restaurant and food was wonderful! Our server, Courtney, was SO helpful & friendly! I’ll definitely be back!
G. P.
A great bar and restaurant just across the train station entrance. Once you get in there is a hall for dining and if you get further inside there is a hall with a second floor, bars and great furniture all around. The beer we had was literary above the staircase and it was very tasty indeed. Not that expensive but not cheap either. Definitely recommended
G. U.
This is a lovely large german themed restuarant with big tables to accomodate family and friends gathering together. Food is excellent and staff are very friendly attentive.
G. M.
Highly recommend this place beautiful place great cocktails with the most mouth watering menu you can come across
Staff are so friendly...
s. r.
Awesome pub, great decor, its massive with loads of parts. Live band when we were there.
r. j.
I absolutely recomend Brewhemia, the drinks are great, the staff are super friendly. At first I was sceptical about the food prices until I had a few meals there, wow, absolutely delicious. Such a fun place, always a great atmosphere! Five stars for sure and I am definitely going back again and again!
C. C.
A very good option. We were starving and we found Brewhemia in front of Waverly Station. The food was excellent and the staff very kind. I suggested try the drink Thistly Strawberry for a different experience because it is a cider without alcohol.
E. C. (.
Really great service! Had a lovely breakfast and came back again in the afternoon for a scone and tea. Really hoping to return to their bar one evening! The interior is breathtaking and a really lovely vibe. Must see in Edinburgh!
C. M.
Food was brilliant, drinks were fantastic and loads of choice. Great offer 50% off throughout October. I'm not convinced I would be happy paying full price however. It might be too much on the pricey side for us normally, but can't fault the quality.
l. d.
A good selection of beers and other beverages however quite pricey for drinks with slow bar service and during the day in the bar area, not much atmosphere.
L. M.
LUCY was so friendly. An absolute delight to see as a first face in such a busy place, brilliant front of house Lucy. Keep that beautiful smile strong.
Excellent first class service at the bar.
Thanks. L x
C. D.
What a fabulous experience in the heart of Edinburgh. Everything was immaculate and topped with perfection. A must visit for any traveller wanting a lovely experience after a long journey. We have been twice already on our vacation and will be taking our family to dinner again tonight on one of our last nights in Scotland. Cannot express enough niceties about this establishment!
r. d.
I came in here because the front of the building looked interesting - so glad i did! I arrived about 7 pm on a thursday, stayed for a few hours, and the gin and prosecco bar stayed nice and quiet the entire time. The bartender was so friendly, as well as some off-duty employees who stopped by for a chat. Some of them threw out suggestions for drink combinations, all of which were delicious! I had the best gin and tonic of my life and a gin and cucumber drink that the bartender invented for me. The decor in here is worth seeing as well, there are so many cool details to look at. If you’re thinking about coming here just for drinks, definitely go to the gin and prosecco bar upstairs, and try to sit at the bar if you’re on your own. You won’t regret it!
K. S.
Was made to feel very welcome while dining solo on a work visit to Edinburgh. Beer and food was delicious.
J. *.
Fun peacock entry and lovely interior, right across from Waverley station so it was very busy in holiday times. They had extra dining upstairs which was quite nice that I preferred anyway.
Staff were very proffesional and friendly, eager to help with anything.
Really nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and unique, I had the chicken schnitzel. Very affordable for the quality.
Definitely recommended and will return next time Im in edingbrugh.
K. C.
Beautiful, spacious place, great atmosphere and food, nice staff. Good for nights out and cozy lunch
V.
Great food, Great atmosphere, very tentative staff ...
A must visit!
E. M.
Thank you so much for being so accommodating when we brought our puppy yesterday! Bed, water and snacks all provided. Our brunch was also delicious!!
T. A.
Food and atmosphere was great. Staff were lovely and friendly! However the wait for our dinner was just too long, 40 mins. Live music too which just added to the ambience. Would definitely recommend.
A. T.
Always love this place.
Great atmosphere. Superb staff and brilliant selection of drinks. Plus the food is outstanding.
Even more special when there is love music on.
Just yards from Waverly Station too !
S. B.
Amazing afternoon tea! The food was delicious and better than the typical sandwiches. Staff were a little slow as we waited over 30 mins for a drink!
f.
Good vibes and drinks. We only had the pretzel, but the mains coming out looked delicious.
D. C.
Only went for drinks but this is a really nice place with a good drink selection in a very tastefully decorated environment. Good friendly staff and in a great location next to the train station in the centre of town. Update - I went here again and this time had food and was seated in the big room. Great atmosphere, the live entertainment was very good and the food was delicious.
T. N.
Absolute hidden gem. Visited for what we thought was a pub Sunday lunch, it was far more. Apart from the superb food, there was a live rock choir and great music in between performances.
The place was far, far, bigger than expected. Excellent find too late in our Edinburgh trip.
J. L.
Friendly staff, good range of drinks and great layout!
B. L.
Nice selection of beers, and we also had some live music, which mad a great experience. They may have been short of staff as the table turn around was slow
N. H.
Great atmosphere for work Christmas lunch and drinks. Typical Edinburgh prices for drinks but good range and the food was very very good with good size portions and all cooked and presented well too. Definitely be back.
R. D.
Nice atmosphere overall and staff ensured that people are following the social distancing rules in place as closely as possible. The food was wonderful and full of flavour, however the service was slow, even for the rounds of drinks we'd wait quite a while. I will admit it seemed very busy for a Wednesday evening. I will visit again 😊
C. M.
Visited today 12th Dec with Family. 3 children age 6 twins and 9 yes old they had a great time getting faces painted, meeting Santa's elf's who were amazing, then met Santa and Mrs Clause. We then had a meal were entertained by a choir and two men singing. J would recommend this to anyone food and entertainment first class and staff great
R. F.
Received afternoon tea vouchers as a gift. Wasn't sure this was the right venue for a quieter experience. Pleasantly surprised. Great, attentive service throughout. Friendly welcome, shown to table upstairs in Caffe section. Lots of others having afternoon tea which avoided fear of being surrounded by rowdy beer drinkers. Apparently there are 3 90 mins afternoon tea sitting each day. Iced water arrived quickly followed by traditional 3 level afternoon tea (sandwich/scone/cake) combo. Very fresh and tasty. Everything felt thought through and attention paid - scones were moist and crumbly. Everything was explained to us and we felt looked after. £18 a head with tea and coffee (supplement for prosecco or gin versions). Slightly oddly there is a Gentlemen's Tea option which swaps out the dainty cakes etc for more robust fare including beer. If you are looking for a relatively cheap classic afternoon tea for yourself or as a gift i would recommend. You may need to reassure that it's better than you might imagine.
M. R.
Fabulous place, barmaids friendly and work sooooo hard. Definitely a must have visit, you will not be disappointed.
I. A.
Visited here at 7pm on a Thursday for a meal and drink before catching our train home. Great service, good food and atmosphere. Around 8pm live musicians started to play... both playing keyboards and singing. A young lady went around the room taking requests from the clientele for them to play and sing, (photo of the young lady attached, with her permission) Prices very reasonable for everything...
N. J.
4 stars for a drinking place, atmosphere is nice and the wine was great. The food is quite bland however, I wouldn’t recommend getting the Mac and cheese side, EXTREMELY BLAND!
R. G.
A great example of this kind of hybrid of wine bar and gastro pub. Conveniently situated 40 yards from the Market Street exit of Waverly Station it's modern interior is well designed and nicely burnished with polished copper fittings. It has a good selection of good vino and quality beers. Certainly not the cheapest, but very comfortable. We didn't eat here but the dishes being brought out were superior and nicely turned out. Found the staff to be attentive and helpful.
A. M.
Welcoming and friendly staff, tasty drinks, live music, gorgeous environment.
Thanks Simeon for the lovely time.
Highly advised for team drinks or work parties as there is plenty space and wide drinks selection.
B. H.
Had an awesome delayed Xmas party here. Good food and the band and whole crew were just amazing. Such a great experience 👍
D. P.
Amazing place! Really good food, great entertainment and lovely people, absolutely amazing. Best night out in town ❤
M. D.
Medium size pub, with modern fixtures. Good for groups of people in booths. Sells a selection of beers including tank beers. Food available. Asked for 2 halves of beer, thought I was overcharged but when queried was told they don't sell halves of beer only 2/3rd of pints (schooner), strange the bar staff never said when I ordered.
T. G.
Booked in advance and I'm so glad I chose here. A lot bigger than I expected food and drinks were lovely although we only went for bar snacks. Would certainly recommend.
R. H.
Good. Nice atmosphere. Slightly random portion size - huge kid's meal, too much for my 6 yo, but skimpy on the sides with the adult main. Slow but pleasant service - had trouble getting servers' attention when we needed it. But enjoyable.
A. S.
Great atmosphere good pint IPA well run ! So handy for Waverley Station ?
A. B.
Fantastic food and drinks in an amazing setting. Great food menu complimented by an even better drinks menu made better by the evening entertainment. The mac and cheese with haggis was lovely.
L.
Love this place. Food was delicious. We were served by a new wee guy (sorry I have forgot his name and don't want to offend by guessing) on his first shift (8th Dec) and he was super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. 10 stars on his first shift.
N. H.
Ok bar. Kind of see what they’re trying to do, like a German beer hall, having visited many in Munich it’s trying, but .... doesn’t quite nail it.
Didn’t eat here but others around us had huge good looking portions.
Decent beers on offer but to just drink at the bar area it stinks of food, particularly meat, if you just want a drink it’s not great. Need better air con or ventilation.
Good Barneys Volcano IPA on draught and Staropramen tank beer.
T. C.
Restaurant was busy, probably as a function of the rugby, but as a foreseeable problem was definitely understaffed. Poor staff were working flat out, with a menu that was full of holes with items running out. After getting seated, was 35 minutes before we got a drink of any kind. Host also omitted the Sunday Roast menu, and by the time we clocked this and asked for it was too late to amend our order. This was a shame, as the roast looked excellent, and was another 50 minutes after we enquiried before our main arrived.
Food itself was fine, just what you'd expect, meaty and heavy, can have no complaints with that!
c. o.
Fantastic chic bar with luxurious interior and excellent choice of beers and sumptuous cocktails. A bit pricey but worth it for the experience.
N. K.
Perfect place for drinks and food. Staff were super friendly and welcoming.
L.
Big, smashing looking place. Extremely large. Great ambiance but LOUD ! Both music and customer's conversations. Food delicious and well presented. Maybe on the pricy side. Beer battered fish is exceptional! Staff very efficient and polite. Well worth a visit but recommend to book. Usually busy.
S. L.
Great atmosphere, staff were terrific and food was amazing! Loved it!
N. B.
Food was nice. Service was nice. Cocktails were nice. Bit expensive.
M. D.
Very good service with nice choice of beer and colourful menu!
M. S.
Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. I love coming here, but do so infrequently as it's quite pricey!
S. O.
The nicest meal I’ve had in months. Everything was absolutely perfect with the freshest beer imaginable.
C. M.
Delicious food in the best place on Earth!
I. M.
It was great. Just what we needed after coming off the train. A lovely coffee then a cocktail, mmm nice
T. L.
Beautiful surroundings. Lovely Sunday lunch. Good service.
B. D.
The food was really good and they had gluten free options. My salad was delicious and so were the trio of fries.
D. M. C.
Good selection of beers on tap, and has space for large walk in groups. Gets busy, and bar can be quite slow. No table service for drinks only tables, and the bar is pricey too.
K.
Had the roast of the day which was really tasty. Selection of beer is fantastic. However, service was rather slow but it was father's Day so can understand it would be busy.
G. D.
Excellent service and great food, the 'hot rock' steaks are superb!!
A. G.
Had afternoon tea, was really nice and the staff were really friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back!
P. Z.
Excellent place! Great food and beer! Huuuuge rooms, lots of seats !
A. T.
Great hearty food. Really recommend the Weiner dog, messy but really good!! The pretzels are also good, especially with the sauce.
The service was nice, the staff were really happy to help and the atmosphere and decor are really warm and cozy.
e. s.
Gr8 atmosphere.. lovely place.. just very busy.. not easy to get a seat x
F. N.
Just amazing place to eat drink and to enjoy love music
B. G.
Lovely staff, gorgeous decor, good range of food and smaller options available 👍
Felt like their covid measures were safe and effective. Sad there was no schnapps! But everything else was great, thanks!
L. B.
Fabtastic ambiance and stellar service! The food was amazing as well (loved the haus schnitzel) and the portions were copious
C. S.
The atmosphere is fun, and I'm sure the booze is great. But for a non-drinker... The food was really mediocre at best, so I can recommend for anything but a stag/hen night.
S. W. L.
Great Foods/ Beers and Warm Servers. The best Place in UK for 10 days trip so far.
B. O.
Absolutely tasteful food. Good ambience, pre-book before going here as it gets busy really quickly.
V. G.
I used to work in City Nightclub (way back in the day) and the transformation into the beautiful Brewhemia is phenomenal! Can't get over how epic it is: interior, the service, the food and the entertainment. Amazing job by the team!!!! Perfect atmosphere for all occassions and company! Really impressed
E. H.
First visit, great atmosphere, great entertainment.
Any time in Edinburgh, I will be visiting.
B. B.
Good place to make an Impression on someone as the drink prices are a bit higher than I expected compared to other bars in the area but nice for a change.
S. B.
Amazing atmosphere - was at hen night and everyone was so friendly and the acts were brill
J. I.
Massive pub, multiple bars, good service and alcohol. Live music was amazing.
N. B.
Absolutely gorgeous place. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food.
A. H.
They let me sit here and have a coffee and a Zoom meeting, which I appreciated. Coffee was good.
T.
Very hip bar with the best video for any age or occasion.. make a reservation!
D. Y.
Gentleman's afternoon tea a sample of three beers and a set tastings plate, excellent service and enough grub
C. K.
Andrew went out of his way to make us sensational bloody Mary's. Some man.
K. W.
Stopped for a quick drink before visiting the Christmas markets. Very busy and were not serving bar snacks or food to any table that wasn't a booth. Bit of a shame!
J. C.
A real mixed bag when it came to food. My starter of heritage beetroot and whipped goat cheese was tasty and seemed fresh, however my friends' mushroom dish was far too garlicky and salty. The same mushroom and sauce was then used on my main of chicken schnitzel so I was unable to eat more than half of it. One friend had a linguine dish which promised many different vegetables but turned up covered in only mushrooms, not sure what the obsession with mushrooms is. It was also incredibly oily, to the point where when she gave up eating it there was an inch deep pool of oil in the bowl. My other friends enjoyed their schnitzel (the plainer version) and the mac and cheese. But given the prices, it was disappointing.
Service was fine, the interiors were fine, we went on a Tuesday so there wasn't much going on but I understand there's usually more entertainment which would have added more to the experience. But it does just feel like a theme park restaurant and the ultimate tourist trap.
Small bug bear but it calls itself a prosecco bar on the fascia but only had a couple options on the menu -??
C. S.
Attended works Christmas party at brewhemia. Staff were excellent. Xmas meal was delicious. A great time was had by all. Will definitely be back
S. M.
Phenomenal dining experience tried to walk in on Friday but was told it was packed to the rafters by a friendly staff who apparently had stayed in the same country I was from. Though we were turned away , she was very polite and immaculate customer service skills. We managed to get a booking for tonight , and everything was 100% tip top. The lady at the front counter brought us to our table and provided some keen recommendations deserve praise . But special compliments to our server Beatriz who was an absolute gem in attending to us . Not only did she provide recommendations but offered to tell us more about Brewhemia and it’s operations along with a tour to see all the bars in the restaurant . Went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable got our food punctually and also checked in to ensure the food was to our liking. The food was the best food I’ve had in the 12 days I’ve been in the UK. Prices were on par to other restaurants in the UK but it’s quality was far better. Would definitely return, truly an example for the world. The service is a stand out .
J. W.
Always a pleasure to have a drink here. Staff knowledgeable , a huge variety of Gin and other drinks . Extremely pleasant surroundings .
A. P.
The place is very nice. Food was good and portions were big.
The hummus was amazing!
N. M.
Located next to Waverley Station south entrance. Two dining areas, live music area at the back and a gin and prosecco bar upstairs.
Good accessibility from the main entrance to the initial bar area. Steps inside for other areas.
Great range of liquors, beers and ales. Food is standard bar fare but good quality and reasonable prices.
w.
Great friendly place, suitable for all including dogs. Had a beautiful cocktail and beer.
M. W.
What a delight! I was so happy when I eventually visited brewhemia and it far surpassed my expectations! My first visit was with a friend and I had the homemade baked beans with poached egg and toast. Delightful!
I then returned the following week with my mum and sister, my sister ordered the eggs benedict whilst my mum and I had scones with jam and clotted cream.
First off, the eggs benedict were absolutely divine. Served on a crumpet, which made a lovely change and came with haggis too. So tasty I was quite jealous of my sisters choice of breakfast. However, not for long. Once I tasted my scone I was quite content. Delicious scone and a good amount of jam and cream.
Interior is fantastic and staff very friendly and welcoming. Lunch and dinner menu and looks delicious.
Will definitely return for a portion of the eggs benedict for myself and would highly recommend.
S. G.
Really nice place with lots of live music and good food! Great vibe - but sold us beers and then made us move from our table after we ate with nowhere else to sit - and difficult to get served at the bar ! Would I go back ? Hell yeah !!!
J. N.
Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Good entertainment and amazingly positive, friendly staff.
S. M.
Strange combination of club, show and live music bar, it was packed with a lively atmosphere and everyone seemed to be loving it, not my cup of tea but I can see why it would be for others, just don't go expecting either a seat or a conversation that can be heard 🤣
M. W.
Thank you for saving us and the dog from torrential rain whilst we sorted our train out! Lovely food, loads of different beers, free treats for the dog and really friendly and professional staff who couldn't do enough for us. Thank you.
V. F.
Fabulous place in gorgeous surroundings. Delicious afternoon tea. Love that fact they provide cosy baskets and bowls for our furbabies too 💞
K. R.
Lovely pub, great beer selection, friendly staff and right next to the train station.
M. L.
Really really nice for a Sunday roast. I've been a couple of times before but this time was the best of the lot. Amazing roast dinner and live music on a Sunday afternoon made for a very enjoyable time in a lovely setting. Service was great as always.
L. G.
Great atmosphere, good location easy to get to from the train station.
Afternoon tea is delicious.
A. R.
Food was fantastic, the show, Palast Des Cabaret, was even better. Get down and see it, every Wednesday until end July 2019 - new acts each week hosted by Tom Harlow.
P.s. cabaret and burlesque encourage audience participation, the more you whoop and holler, the more you and the performer enjoy your night.
P. D.
Busy bar with good atmosphere. It is noisy so maybe if you want a quiet drink it's not the place for you. Table service only. There was back ground music which was then followed by live music. Friendly staff. Great selection if food & drink on offer.
J. L.
Nice atmosphere, good for a drink/meal with your colleagues as they have large tables. The food is good but slightly overpriced.
Great drink menu though.
Will be back for drinks :)
n. l.
Expensive pub overpriced alcohol and food. Nothing special
P. C.
Excellent bar just outside of Edinburgh Waverley. Clearly word has got out how good this place is and it was very busy. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
O. M.
Great night out in Brewhemia - had a lovely dinner (chicken schnitzel and chilli and garlic mash) and drinks (of which there's a great variety).. there was also a live band followed by 90s classics and cabaret-style dancers! Lots of fun and highly recommend!
C. D.
Friendly staff, but service unbelievably slow. Sat for 20 minutes before our drinks order was taken, then another 15 minutes before getting our first drink. Actualy felt sorry for our waitress, as they were all clearly under far too much pressure. She was tipped well for doing her best. Food was pretty average.
J. C.
Great selection of beer. Great atmosphere and entertainment. Not cheap though.
J.
Friendly staff, good beer, good sausage. Can’t ask for more than that.
Staff seem rushed off their feet but they still manage to stay friendly and attentive. Kaiserwurst was good, mac and cheese was good, Löwenbräu always a good choice and Prosecco was nice too. Really enjoyed our visit.
G. L.
Had some beers and cocktails here.Quite a large place so distancing no problem . Staff friendly and efficient. Had a good time.
E. E.
Best schnitzel in town ! Great service as well ! Can't wait to visit again !
C. M.
Spectacular luxurious bar near railway station. Nice selection of Keg beers.
C. A.
Great looking place, always busy and crowded but maybe a bit boring (lacks atmosphere and sometimes space to move/get to the bar). The cocktail list is not bad, it's a relatively decent place to start a night out
E. A.
Drinks were lovely, tho they forgot one of my friends drinks and we had to ask about it. They said theyd give them it for free but we had already paid for it.
The atmosphere was a little overwhelming, the music was really loud and that made the customers really loud. It was a bit over stimulating.
Other than that it was really nice and I had a good time there.
M. B.
Great atmosphere with good food, over an hour sat at table waiting for food but it was exceptionally busy and apologise were made. Would definitely visit again.
I. L.
Awsome staff! Not exactly cheap but decent prices
D. W.
It was a very nice restaurant with a good variety of food and beer. The service is very quick and attentive even during busier times. The atmosphere is good, but I found the place lacking alittle in character. Overall though would highly recommend.
D. C.
Belated birthday Brunch for my friend. Food was delicious - Pancakes, bacon and maple syrup for her and Rabbie's Breakfast for me. Followed by orange juice and tea. Also a jug of water placed on the table. A nice touch especially on such a hot day! The Service too was excellent.
M. B.
Absolutely delicious afternoon tea, enjoyed by my friend and I who are vegetarian. We had a delightful French waitress serving us too. This was our second visit and we were as happy as we were after our first one.
A. M.
Place looks extremely festive and well decorated. Food is good for the prices and decent range of beer, although if you are gonna have that much Czech stuff have pilsner urquell.
A. M.
Great birthday night, excellent service and atmosphere terrific
T. F.
Took the dog here for pawhemia absolutely brilliant, would highly recommend and it is for charity as well, stayed and listened to the live music and it was great! Went the next day as well and the staff are very friendly and helpful and adore dogs which are allowed in at all times. Will be back again
J. S.
Great place, nice atmosphere, super drinks.
H. B.
We went by chance on Friday no tables booked got lucky and had to go back next night. My kinda vibe. Live music, eccentric crowd decent range of beers from what I remember and food weren't half bad but you go for the atmosphere!
G. K.
Amazing atmosphere with live music on the piano by Ruth Hutton. Emma the host couldn’t have done more more for us and even went away and wrote up a list of recommendations of bars in her home town for a trip we have in a couple of weeks. Really lovely place, couldn’t recommend more
T. H.
Great beer selection and good food. The currywurst was excellent
J. P.
Excellent afternoon coffee, scones and cakes were tasty, not to mention the rolls
M. P.
Food is good, portions are not small. Good choice of drinks. The show was awesome, with a great live real band and entertainment. Worth a couple extra quid compared to other places.
R. “. P.
Place is lovely, staff very friendly but food quality is too patchy.
m. k.
Lovely interior and food was spot on. Would definitely return next time in the area
M. R.
Friendly staff, chilled music and great coffee. Lots of live music throughout the week. They also support the LGBTQIA community so that's a bonus! I've spoken with Clare, Hayley, Dougie and Michael.
N. H.
Friendly staff, great food. Locally sourced ingredients and drinks.
T. B.
This place has really nummy food and phenomenal decor! The live music was also amazing!
V. D.
Nice, clean, an atmosphere, extensive menu and good food. Just let down by the fact I was only given a brunch menu at around midday.
R. M.
Superb friendly bar in Edinburgh with a vast selection of drinks 👍🏻
B. D.
Perfect setting and right opposite the train station. Great place to visit before leaving Edinburgh
A. O.
We were up at the gin and prosecco bar. Nice selection of Gins, live music, comfy chairs would recommend!

Great night out, good food service and entertainment. Cannot recommend highly enough, especially if you want a easy fun night out.
S. P.
lovely place for coffee and/or beer and staff were so nice x
G. M.
A huge venue with an endless selection of all kinds of drinks. Many guest beers, many more regulars. A very good kitchen offering a range of snacks and meals. Different themed areas including a Prosseco bar. A big screen for sports too. A must visit for tourists, locals and beer lovers!
A. D.
Lovely pub very good staff bit expensive for me but I stay in a village so cheaper would go back if in the area enjoyed my time there
A. P.
Nice ambience. Love the lights and the decor. Perfect for a nice date. The truffle fries were nice. My chicken schnitzel was a little dry but the great cocktails made up for it
P. G.
Several bars inside, each with different variations of beer, wine and spirits -particularly loved the gin & prosecco bar.
C. N.
Booked a table for drinks and we were sat in the area upstairs close to the bar. It's pretty dull up there you're kinda out of the way and the atmosphere is pretty much non existent, especially annoying when you can hear the buzzing bar below you. It might be a good spot if you're in for a quiet lunch. The drinks are also very expensive but pretty much standard for the part of Edinburgh you are in, staff were all excellent though.
B. M.
Far too hot in the venue, especially in the basement,, need to get the air con working, and it's not even summer.
K.
Great place to visit, lovely decor and friendly staff
S. B.
Nice selection of good beers, nice decor, friendly staff and atmosphere
K. S.
Look no further for coffee or cappuccinos this place has it all the staff were friendly and welcoming has a modern rustic feel to the place. We tried the lunch also and it was amazing!
A. R.
Very nice place...very old building whut nice atmosphere
K. S.
Food is amazing, fabulous cocktails
D.
A calm place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning. Would recommend this place to tourists that don't like crowded places.
D. M.
It is a nice lively place and the food and drink are both good. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime and found that there were a lot of dogs, so I wouldn't recommend it if you are nervous of dogs.
J. N. (.
Excellent service and a fantastic Gentleman's Afternoon tea. Great selection of items and all very tasty and well presented. Excellent service from all staff.
Would recommend.
S. M.
Food was simply outstanding, great place to have food, beers and bubbles. Staff were simply lovely. Will be back.
N. D.
The place is nice well decorated, good ambiance, Nice food, however, the drinks are far too expensives for what you get. The cocktails might be tasty, they are not looking good (garnish) for the price you pay.. And the beers are too expensive as well.
A. S.
Looks amazing and the menu sounds fab, the truffle and cheese potatoes are lovely but I wasn't impressed with the staff, the spanish male waiter was a bit arrogant and it's not cheap.
S. T.
Friendly staff, good drinks selection.
A. M.
Brilliant night during Oktoberfest. Resident band were great, as were the 'brass' oompah guys. Good selection of local and German / Czech beers and food.
D. W.
Had a lovely time with my husband and kids had a brilliant server, Wasim I think his name was 10/10 effort , will be back!!!!
C. M.
Had a lovely afternoon tea with friends for my Birthday.
G. C.
Several different bars under one roof. Procecco and gin with a piano player, whisky snug or party place with brass band playing dance music... Very good for a night out.
m. c.
Fun place with live music to grab some drinks!
K. A. S.
Excellent food and friendly staff 😊👍
S. B.

P. C.
Great selection of beers, plenty of seats and friendly staff
S. K.
Delicious whiskey cocktails, great food and ambience. Very attractive and inviting entrance.
R. P.
Had a great meal here. Even on a Monday night there was live music and a good atmosphere.
P. G.
Big venue, right opposite the main railway station, with a few nice draft options. Despite all the effort in decoration it seems to lack any real soul. An 'All Bar One' for beer if you will...
C. -.
Had breakfast here and it was amazing. Good sized portion, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be back!
D. B.
Nice bar, friendly staff, little on the pricey side.
I. G.
Great place, beautifully fitted and decorated.
Great selection of beers.
Had some food from the bar menu which was quite nice.
Would go back.
P. H.
Great venue for food, drink and live music.
S. W.
Very busy, only meals if you had already booked. Handy as just accross the road from Waverly station
c. m.
Fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Great for drinks with a small or larger group. Plenty of space and the staff are all warm and welcoming
l. c.
Staff were so friendly and accomodating, they went out there way to extend our table time so that we could enjoy the drinks and atmosphere. Great cocktails and fab selection of lagers.
B. G.
Very quiet, great service, food vg value, staff excellent
P. G.
Very friendly service; even though we hadn't reserved, they let us have a table for two hours, increased by a further hour when they noticed my friend and I continuing to enjoy the steins of lager. Excellent drink selection and the sloe gin venison stew was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended.
j. s.
Good service and a safe environment. Good value offers available for afternoon tea voucher packages. Great selection of lagers/pilsners but can be pretty pricey @£6 / pint.
G. P.
Great choice of beer, good atmosphere
L. S.
Tasty food, good atmosphere (slightly loud music for 7:30 on a Monday for dinner - we liked it but others might not).
S. W.
Top quality pub for beer and atmosphere.
R. M.
Fantastic food and great choice of beers in high quality surroundings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended.
P. B.
Nipped in here for a quick drink on the way to the train station. Good service. Nice beer but don't fall for the 'copper vat, fresh from the brewery ' thing. Couldn't tell the difference. Nice tropical cocktail served up. Truffle oil and parmesan fries were a great snack but pricey for a handful. ( £5).
All in all a nice place for a drink but can't comment on the food. Prices a bit rich so it's 3 star only.
S. F.
Great atmosphere here and food was delicious!
J. T.
QR online menu really problematic after a nice dinner with good table service.
A. K.
Lovely place. Not too keen on the food, however. Great place for a night out.
H. W.
The breakfast was amazing and the place looks beautiful. It was only a quick visit before we had to catch our train, but I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Edinburgh.
M. G.
Received a fantastic hand crafted Flat White from talented barista Clare, delicious! The entire team were fantastic and the atmosphere inside was relaxed, and welcoming.
Check it out!
S. B.
Black pudding balls were sublime! Reasonably priced and great live music. Always packed so booking is essential
G. H.
Loved it. Lovely food and great service. Felt very safe at least midweek. Pricing is good. Would have liked a better selection of dark beers!
C. C.
Amazing food and great staff!
C.
Beautiful place with great food, yummy drinks and very friendly staff. The atmosphere always makes for a great time!
E. M.
This place is the heartbeat for anyone who wants to experience a great atmosphere. Tasty fresh food and the chance to sample different Lagers. Beers. Gins etc..
The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place is huge with different levels each with their own bars. Live bands play in one part of the building or you can enjoy a quieter eating and drinking experience.
Loved my afternoon at Brewhemia.
S.
Best pub/bar ever. No joke. Looks amazing, great service, the pints are nice and fresh, the food is good and I absolutely loved the live music.
R. C.
A great venue!
It was lively with a great atmosphere and great entertainment!
There was a group of girls taking song requests and singing the best choices.
Great selection of drinks with relatively short wait times. There was a button on the wall near our table requesting campaign which is pretty fun.
There's also a little cafe upstairs which was pretty chilled out.
A. R.
Had a great meal and great atmosphere. Only slight disappointment was that we went on a Thursday when their website said acoustic guitars would be playing but that wasn't the case.
A. C.
Barrie wee place for a drink, good choice, plenty bars and good vibes
G. T.
First time at this venue but definitely will be back
Great atmosphere , very pleasant staff , although we were just having drinks the food looked very tasty..... good range of beers , cocktails , wines and fizz...👍
A. F.
Great food brilliant service & entertainment 👍
R. H.
Great cocktails and beer fresh from the cask. Attentive bar staff and pleasant surroundings.
M. S.
Chairs and tables seem to be packed in. Half pints of beer vastly overpriced compared to buying a pint. A rip off to be fair.
A. B.
Fantastic bar, huge place, live band were great, brass band was amazing!! Staff great, got works Christmas doo here, can't wait 😁😁😁
A. P.
Not too busy. Great fun. Great music. We were there first time and we will definitely be back. The band who played life music were amazing. People dancing on the tables and benches. This place is massive and very welcoming. Perfect place to let your hair down.
M. M.
Nice bar/restaurant, very lively, nice layout
Bar staff very very slow hence 4 stars not 5
C. S.
Excellent selection and great food. Service patchy
S. D.
Nice atmosphere and always enjoy coming here for a drink.
M. M.
We were met with a warm welcome and shown to the table my daughter had booked. Before she and her husband arrived we were given water and offered drinks. The menu selection was very interesting. The food was fantastic, as was the friendly, engaging service. Service may have been a little slower than I expected based on relatively few diners, but it was not excessively slow. You could argue it is a little expensive, but only a little. It still felt like decent value. Overall, I'd look forward to returning.
a.
Lovely busy pub great choice of food and wine, nice staff.
S. J.
This bar was absolutely amazing, had a fun day there and staff are very friendly.
T. C.
What a place! An absolutely classy and stylish place with the most amazing food and drinks and the most loveliest of staff. I would highly recommend it to everyone who goes to Edinburgh.
C. F.
Amazing place, jazz ambiance, great drinks and food.
t. i.
Slightly over priced to be honest, difficult to get a seat, but could be fun if not for those two points
D. J.
Good drink options. There was awsome live music in Central bar area. And they also have quite cafe on top to relax.
i. m.
Good hen night for my daughter. Relaxed atmosphere. Very large inside with imaginative design and decor. Excellent for transport links too.
J. M.
Lovely atmosphere, great beers. With the unique tanks. But most of all a smile with service, which we did not recieve anywhere else in Edinburgh. Thank you
S. F.
From the moment we went in, instantly made welcome. Shown our table, explained process for ordering. Very attentive service, knew how to give time between serving and taking away finished dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. Very impressed and will be back.
p. c.
Can't fault the place, food was excellent and the staff were very friendly
J. P.
Great night, super food, brilliant service and dog friendly what more could you want 👍

P. T.
Absolutely amazing venue, everyone was dancing on the table and living life! Nothing but pure love and fun, happy vibes!
C.
Very good beer selection, good food with strong portions but at a price.
You won't be disappointed as long as you like beer and aren't low on funds
C. C.
Excellent food, beer is a bit on expensive side at almost £6 a pint nice relaxing atmosphere, staff are pleasant and helpful.
J. R.
Was there for a Christmas meal with my team. Would definitely recommend. Great atmosphere with a fab band. Loads of people up dancing and enjoying the night. As an extra bonus the food was gorgeous as well, not always the case at Christmas parties!
L. P.
I have just visited Brewhemia with my partner and our dog for the gentleman's afternoon tea, which was gifted to us at Christmas time.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were so lovely and accommodating, giving us a wee basket and blanket for our dog Monty to get comfortable in.
We had arrived a little early for our reservation, so had a drink at the bar before heading up to the cafe area for afternoon tea when our table was ready. Here, we found the table set up for us and a bed, blanket and water bowl set up for Monty.
Every single staff member we dealt with were so lovely and professional. The afternoon tea itself was amazing! We got to chose three beers (or one whole pint) for our beer flight from a list of 12 or so options, and the food was delicious.
The table setting and food all looked amazing, and we were lucky enough to be there whilst there was live music on in the larger bar area.
Highly recommended, and will certainly be back!
P. M.
Amazing place will definitely go back. Prices are typical capital standard (expensive) but the products for what you pay are what should be expected. Thanks for the experience.
D. M.
Good food, great atmosphere and great service!
Ø. H.
Very friendly straff, great cocktails. I enjoyed my visit there
D. R.
Wish I'd spent more time here! Amazing selection of drinks, top tier food and amazing surroundings to enjoy it all in.
An absolute must visit if you're in Edinburgh!
F. P.
Amazing food and great service.
M. R.
Simply great food and friendly staff. Stunning atmosphere and we are allow with our dog!.... Certainly a place to come back
D. G.
Good city centre bar with a great selection of drinks and food. Ideal place for groups to meet up and enjoy a few hours of relaxed fun.
S. L.
Big venue with a great atmosphere with hard working staff. Would recommend a visit if staying near the city centre.
R. Z.
Amazing place. Friendliest staff, great food and drinks. High quality beer!
I. T.
Food was ok, good service and piano player top quality.
K. M.
Good vibes in the bar/restaurant area. Lively and comfortable with nice decor. The food was nothing special, but equally not bad. The cocktail menu has a lot of options and reasonably priced.
The real star of the night was the live Saturday night entertainment in the back room! Made for a fantastic start to a night out.
S. B.
Would have been 5 but the table order App was a bit counter intuative
D. V.
A huge pub near the Royal Mile. Modern style with a huge selection of beers, great staf and lovely food.
J. J.
Fabulous decor and vibe. We came here for Sunday lunch. Food was just above average. Meat was nicely cooked, as were the vegetables. Although nothing to harp on about. Also, the potatoes were not crispy or flavourful. However, we love that Brewhemia is dog-friendly and that they have entertainment and events.
D. J.
Great food! Live music was great and the staff took great care to ensure our visit was as pleasant as possible.
D. W.
Went there for the first time today for an afternoon tea day with my brother, a Christmas gift. Must say it was very nice. Unfortunately couldn't eat all the food they offered in the deal (got a bit full and not really a cake person) but the food I had was very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff too. I'll definitely go back for an actual meal and some drinks.
B. O.
Stopped in for a pint and a dram, went upstairs to the bothy (wiskey bar). Barman (Robert) really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, spent allot of time talking to us about the different ones, highly recommended.
B. C.
Great meal and entertainment, asked for chips but got mash but other than that was a fun night.
D. E.
Good food, good service, unique and cool independent place. I'd recommend booking ahead. It's a great place to go with friends!
C. H.
Neither here nor there foodwise but generally a fun place.
H. m.
Great entertaining place and the food was nice.
M. G.
Great service and atmosphere. The steak and eggs were excellent, and portions were generous for the price.
C. S.
Always enjoy popping in here for a drink, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Lots of tables so never an issue getting seated.
S. M.
Was here last Saturday, great atmosphere, lovely food, we both had flat iron steaks & some local craft beer. Great service, very chatty, Courtney was very helpful and all the staff members where extremely welcoming. Would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Edinburgh.

Post lockdown. The social distancing is good. I say this as other reviewers disagree.
THE ROAST!!! The carrots: caramelised. The beef : thick. The Yorkshire pudding: massive. The gravy:tasty
The portion side was good, I’ve been so many pleases and they skimp on everything, not here!
£16.50 is cheep for a Sunday lunch in my opinion
A. M.
Quality place. Expensive cocktails but they were amazing. The foods pretty good too
N. F.
Very large pub. Noisy and busy. And not cheap
L. L.
Awesome place, best food and drink selection and super helpful staff! Staff were always looking out for us, making sure we never have to wait and were on the ball!! Defintley worth tipping them, will be back
S. G.
Nice wood rustic barn German beer garden but modern look. Waitering all good. Pretty poor cover duo playing live music but not for long. Food was excellent though for this style of venue, high quality service ware/plates with a simple but very tasty food offer and decent sized portions
K. L.
Food was good. Our sever Natalie, took the time to explain several things for our large group, and did an amazing job, best waitress we've had in a very long time. The restaurant is very large, so if you are having trouble finding a place to eat during the busy Fringe season in Edinburgh, come here, you'll likely not have any trouble with getting seated.
N. B.
Great selection of beer and food, very helpful staff, would definitely return for more flights
