M. W.Got the black pudding, jumbo haggis, and chips here tonight. The people here were super friendly and the fried stuff was surprisingly ungreasy. Place is tiny but dine-in isn't allowed anyway. One of the cheapest places for food in the area

T. w. I.It is a very small fish and chips shop. It seem to be a more familiar place. Dont expect luxury furniture here. The prices are fair for around 8£ and the taste is very good. The fish was made fresh in front of us and this show that this shop is not selling you any fish which stands since some days. You can have a seat inside and enjoy your fish and chips. The staff was very friendly and the location is wonderful. I guess its the only fish and chips store at the grass Market. I would recommend everyone to come here and after that you can visit one the pubs around the place. It was definitely one of the best fish and chips I had in Edinburgh
B. C.A convenient place along Grassmarket that advertises late hours. We visited in the evening. It took about 5 minutes for them to heat up a big piece of fish. That tasted fine. Unfortunately, the chips were mushy, like they’d been sitting in a warmer for hours. Not a place we’d visit again.

A. K.Brilliant takeaway staffed by some of the nicest people we’ve ever met, ordered food on two occasions during our stay and the food was really good and the customer service was even better. Thanks guys and thanks to el chapo for the fresh breads 😉
A.The fish was delicious! Crispy and with no fishy smell! One portion is also massive, (they offered to cut it in half and serve it as 2 portions as well when we couldn't decide.) (One portion is £11). The servers were both brilliant. As me and my friend don't eat non halal meat my friend asked if the fish was fried with anything else and the server told us it was halal. She knew what we were after!

I found the staff to be friendly and generous with their tomato ketchup, salt and vinegar. There are a few seats inside, breakfast bar style. It was good to be able to see them batter the fish and cook it while we waited. The fish was very fresh and the chips were good too.The mars bar was very nice! First time for us and can see why people rave on about it.

We had the homemade steak pie, absolutely supmtious and perfectly crumbly, and the fried haddock - amazing! The breading was light and crunchy, cooked to perfection. We ate our lunch of fish & chips, haggis supper and black pudding in the front window with a view across Grassmarket - which was a top way to take in the atmosphere of the area. The owner was friendly and we had a nice chat about where we were from. He made sure we knew what we were ordering, as I suspect a lot of tourists would order the traditional Scottish fare without knowing exactly what it is they’re being served. I’d recommend this place to anyone that wants an authentic and tasty feed.
