Really friendly and welcoming bar. Lots of great beers on offer and there's a nice vibe to the place. A beer and a cider cost just under £10 and the bar staff are happy to offer a taste of a beer if you're not sure what to pick. There's an open mic advertised for Thursday nights.

Good place to watch sports. I had a Big Macaroni Burger. The meat was rather well done and the amount of majo killed the separate flavours. Fries were a bit mushy for my taste. But overall the food was good. After a busy first day in the office, we were all invited out for a meal in the evening, which of course we accepted. This was the selected destination, and it is located very well. Although the outdoor seating area wasn't the best as we were cramped onto the side of the pavement, you do get excellent views of Edinburgh castle so the trade-off is probably worth it! My eyes were immediately drawn to the mac n cheese burger, which not only comes with a patty but is slathered in macaroni cheese. What a fantastic idea! When it arrived I was not disappointed - in fact I marvelled at the amount of macaroni cheese was actually on the burger, as it was spilling down the sides. Unfortunately this meant I had to use a knife and fork to safely eat my burger and not humiliate myself in front of colleagues, not that I generally have any problem with that. It tasted delicious. A special note must go to the chips on the side which were chunky but also soft and tasted great!

The first night the kitchen was closed due to an issue but MY GOD it was worth the wait coming back the next two nights my parents and I LOVED!!! IT, Mark was amazing, excellent service and extremely friendly and made the whole experience there feel homely. When my dad hurt his foot earlier that day the barman on the 3rd night was very accommodating to my dad waiting on him hand and foot and making sure he was OK. I'm hoping to come back to Edinburgh and when I do I know exactly where I'm going for my food and drinks and the prices are amazing compared to other places we got all our food and drinks for half the price of 1 meal somewhere else and I had the mac'n' cheese both nights as ive never tasted one as nice as that and I love my Italian meals... Ps thank you mark and the rest of the staff who served us. We never felt more welcome anywhere else x

Tried the food for the first time the other day, too, and it was great. There's normally a pool table and dart board as well, but unsure if you're allowed to use them with COVID still haunting our lives...

Very good traditional Scottish pub food. The service was great and the atmosphere warm and friendly. We wanted to watched the World Cup while we ate and this was perfect for that. There are candles on the tables, for an atmospheric atmosphere. I received a very warm and friendly welcome at the Footlights Bar and Grill. I was introduced to the beers available and enjoyed one of them while choosing something to eat from the menu. My choice fell on Steak & Ale Pie, which I liked very much, excellent. I tried another beer with the meal, it was good too :-). The prices are normal and the quality is good. (Original) Auf meinem Weg durch Edinburgh bin ich auf Footlights Bar and Grill gestoßen. Das Ambiente hat mich angesprochen und Bars in denen es Instrumente gibt, finde ich sowieso gut. Auf den Tischen stehen Kerzen, für eine stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre. Ich wurde im Footlights Bar and Grill sehr warmherzig und freundlich Empfangen. Mir wurden die verfügbaren Biere vorgestellt und ich ließ mir davon Eines Schmecken, während ich etwas zu Essen von der Karte wählte. Meine Wahl fiel auf Steak & Ale Pie, welcher mir sehr Gut geschmeckt hat, excellent. Zum Essen probierte ich noch ein weiteres Bier, war auch Gut :-). Die Preise sind normal und die Qualität ist Gut.

Das angebotene Essen ist vorzüglich, preiswert und sehr zu empfehlen. Wer sich am Abend vom Sightseeing erholen und Schottland von der einheimischen Seite kennenlernen möchte ist hier genau richtig.
