Reviews of Indigo Yard
V.
A cute restaurant in Charlotte lane. Cool place to go to eat or hang out and have a few drinks on an evening. Great music and atmosphere. There are different seating areas with beautiful decor. The staff are friendly. Though the place was busy, service was reasonable fast. Be sure to check it out!

The hidden gem. This is an extremely nice venue. It has a cute covered heated seating area outside, with blankets for the cold. The place to go when it is cold and you aim to smoke a cigar, since it is extremely rare to find a place for a puff in Edinburgh. The staff is so nice. The music is cool. An extraordinary time with great drinks. Don’t miss it. 2 minutes walk from the Johnnie Walker.

This is a cool trendy bar in Edinburgh’s west end, nicely decorated with a good selection of beers and outdoor seating area. The plus is that the outdoor seating is covered and there are heat lamps which helps on the cold wet Scottish days.
What let’s the place down is the service and the food. I felt sorry for the staff who looked like they were rushed off their feet. Just not enough people to serve. Nobody asking if we wanted another drink, the food took over an hour and the starters arrived at the same time as the mains. The food itself was average.
If you are going for a drink, nice place. If it’s for food, try somewhere else.

This is a nice restaurant tucked away in Charlotte Lane off Queensferry Street. It has a covered seating area outside and the interiors divided into two separate areas. The decor is bright and modern. The food menu is relatively varied and everyone in my group of 12 was pleased with their choice. The drinks menu is reasonably varied too. Service is pleasant and efficient. Worth a visit.
R. K.
Table service is a big plus here and the music is decent. The decor is quite nice. Food is really good quality, I reccomend the steak sandwich. Prices are a little high which is really the only downside here. Great place to go for a drink and bite with mates.
D. B.
Fantastic staff so friendly and helpful , and the food ....wow , fish n chips so tasty, stack burger is delicious and smoky taste with a good big beefy burger , pulled pork and bacon. Beautiful interior and so cozy . Will definitely be back .
M. C.
We chose this place solely because it had outdoor seating, but couldn't have been more delighted with our experience. The outdoor area has heating and umbrellas and was toasty in spite of wind and rain. There is extensive indoor seating as well. The food menu is great, the drinks menu is encyclopedic, and the staff are incredibly charming and patient -- they went way above and beyond. Will definitely be back again!

Good food and atmosphere.
Large selection of beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
We hired a private part of the restaurant for my husband's 40 birthday, all our guests were very impressed by the food and service.
Thanks to all members of the staff and 5 stars to Patrycja who was in charge of our private party management .

Came for a Mothers Day brunch on Sunday morning and we left so pleased. Amazing food, atmosphere, and the two waitresses that dealt with us were both so friendly and lovely! We love it here and will definitely come more often.

This place was recommended to me.. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely staff!! Lovely food!! I'm now recommending!!!
N. E.
Great outdoor space for a weekend brunch. The boozy brunch deal is a good one but if you're not drinking alcohol it might not be worth the price. The eggs benedict were okay but the hollandaise was a bit too sour. Our server Kaeli was super nice.
D. E.
We came here for lunch whilst visiting family for the weekend, up from London. The cocktails were particularly excellent. Well made and great ingredients.
Service in the restaurant was fast and friendly. Both our two teenagers and the wife and I had an excellent meal.
Great experience

An oldie but still goodie! Post Covid it's getting busy again but still a fantastic place for cocktails. I've not eaten here for the best part of 20 years but the aroma was very mouthwatering!! Worth a visit or a revisit and book a table if you want a seat!!

I stumbled on this place by accident and decided that we were going to have New Year's Eve dinner there . The food was very good and so was a service. This place is a bar / restaurant. It was a shame to be 10 ft away from a table of six with three female hyenas trying to outdo each other. Next time we had to Edinburgh we probably will be there again this year I would love to go back there and enjoy ameal in an area without the pub atmosphere.
A. T.
Have always liked this place from the first time I visited. Quirky kind of layout with other bars and eateries around. Great choice of drinks and not too expensive.
T. A.
Fantastic experience booked as part of a hen day out and was not disappointed. We were seated upstairs on the mezzanine. Staff were great and the food from the boozy brunch menu was lovely!!
E. M.
Great atmosphere and the food was amazing!
S. A.
Went for the first time to join colleagues for a meeting.
The place is beautiful and welcoming, coffee great and Danielle was amazing at looking after us!
We'll be back

My partner and I spent 4 days in Edinburgh and mostly we ate here. Both the food and the drinks are amazing and delicious! Special thanks to Haneen for the fabulous service.
J. M.
this place is a hidden Gem, the reason i did not give a five as the meat burgers were Luke warm. but the food was fantastic, i would defiantly go back.
K. W.
Another lovely place in Edinburgh city centre where you can eat well for good value of money.
The restaurant is very cozy, with beautiful bar full of unique beers to choose from. Food is very tasty. Plates nicely presented.
Gnocchi are my favourite, however burgers with chips were very nice as well.
I recommend for lunches and dinners with friends.
J. F.
Big thanks to your lovely staff yesterday...only had a drink here and used toilet ..but so friendly ..when I m here again will be looking to book ahead for a table as very pretty courtyard with fresh flowers .
R. L.
Great food and drinks but people smoking on the sofas at the front door blowing smoke in to the restaurant wasn't nice and group next to us had a guy vaping in the bar next to us😕
M. L.
Their unique sodas are delicious and it's a really nice little spot, especially the garden. If only they served a nicer oat milk than Alpro. Had to send it back as it's so unpleasant. The staff couldn't have been more lovely.
N. J.
Brilliant food, especially fish & chips! Perfect venue for a party or any sort of small event.
J. B.
Great atmosphere for dining and/or get togethers with friends. Tried the fish n chips which were amazing. Chips are fresh (mine were a little overdone but my wife’s were perfectly cooked). Fresh lemon and tartar sauce were perfect. Service is great!
G. I.
A great venue for a party, we had the whole top level to ourselves.
The food and cocktails were great and very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had the Korean chicken wing starter which was delicious. A little spicy (Just right for me) and very messy, but so worth it! Make sure you have a wet wipe on hand 😅
Although we were seated inside the outdoor area looked great with heat lamps and some fire pits in place as the chilly weather comes in. The smoking area is in this heated outdoor area which is a bonus for smokers.
J. K.
I love the warm atmosphere under the mezz landing, surrounded by wood, the craft beer selection is good with Scottish choices but does go for easy American beer on tap, pity, what’s wrong with local. Food is good with nice variety.
Went for Christmas meal because we liked the seasonal menu. Booked a table for Thursday night and despite being very busy we were smartly shown our table and served drinks and our food. Had 3 courses and enjoyed them all. Glass of Prosecco included. I had draught Brewdog tangerine citrus session IPA and really enjoyed it, very refreshing. We really enjoyed it.
L.
Incredibly cute bar. Great outside area.
Staff were lovely
K. T.
Always a great location for a coffee, drink or something to eat. Our Charcuterie platter was superb!
G. V.
Great place. Beer kept will. Did not eat here but I have heard first hand that it is good.
A. M.
Great terrace to have a cold beer outside. Asahi on draft was very nice
S. M.
Today, I visited to this restaurant with my wife. Very good situation and very nice.foods. Also, very kind staff too! I will visit again I will visit again in this August.
A. M.
Found this bar randomly whilst walking around Endinburgh. Was a busy Saturday night and great atmosphere. Only wanted a quick drink but stayed a few hours ! Staff were attentive and friendly.
Even went back for breakfast the following day.
Will be our first port of call when we visit Edinburgh again.
H. J.
Met friends and sat outside (under tent) at large table with no overhead heater so rather cold (metal table and seats!). There was a central coal effect fire but it was never lit. Always a nice place for a couple of drinks before dinner though.
P. M.
Good food, massive portions. However the fresh orange juice isn’t fresh. Coffee was ok
C. D.
I once came here with my friends, enjoyed a lovely pint of peroni accompanied with there fantastic chicken wings, would recommend, 10/10, so unreal
G. R.
Had a very good business lunch today and I'd like to say a special word of thanks to Danielle - she is a star and a fantastic ambassador for Indigo Yard. Thanks so much from George
M. P.
Lovely place, friendly staff and the christmas decor fab
H. W.
We loved this place. A real hidden gem in the West End as it is slightly off the main road. However, we had the best breakfast/brunch ever. Really extensive menu and great coffee. Very tastefully decorated and has a real buzz to it. We will definitely be back. Could not recommend enough!
k.
With 3 mates smoked couple of ceegars so sat outside started snowing couple of hefty puffs then inside great bar friendly staff would recommend!🙂
S. K.
Love this place - whenever my daughter is in Edinburgh to shop with her friends I like to sit in here - and either catch up with studies - read or simply watch the day go by
... whilst eating some of the tasty bites on offer on the menu ... drink great coffee or wine if not driving
Staff very attentive but not over eager ..
Food fresh and tasty
Special lunch menu 3 course for under £15
Amazing value for quality of food
Recommend the Angels Share ...

Fantastic coffee and the best breakfast we had all had for a long time. Wonderful setting too.
I. M.
Sea bass was excellent, portion was a little smaller - but the price was representative. Nice atmosphere, wasn't our first choice in the area but it turned out to be a success.
A.
Catered amazingly to my complicated dietary requirements! Music is a bit loud in the restaurant section but perfect for the bar area
G.
The five star rating is not meant to be a comprehensive five star as quite simply we weren't there for that long. Good relaxed service, well pulled pints, spacious interior and good decor. Was busier outside in the beer garden but we went inside. Wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. Haven't visited this pub since before lockdown but have always enjoyed visiting it. It's a solid choice for a bar.
W. M.
Great food great atmosphere and brilliant staff and service
S. M.

Finn was amazing, 5 star service, lovely and attentive. Would recommend.

Loved this place! Lovely atmosphere and what a way to start a day sightseeing in Edinburgh. The children stated with delight, that brunch was their favourite meal of the day. Certainly has been for me today! Staff friendly and very helpful, I would definitely recommend.
N. D.
Firdt work night out in months and a great choice of venue, good food.

Great wee place had a few Christmas drinks and the staff where lovely. The doorman Stephen was a blast and a good friendly character
K. M.
Went for Brunch and although deal was great, 2 cocktails and meal for £15, there was no veggie option. So i asked if chef would replace meat things on breakfast with extra veggie stuff and this was result. Basically a plate of perfect for me i absolutely loved it!!
H. K.
Went for drinks in the evening and it was really nice. We had a reserved booth which was fantastic. Lots on offer on the drinks menu. Service plesent and reasonable. Table service was good
l. d. c.
Lovely place and very friendly staff, however although they knew we were there for dinner they forgot to mention that the kitchen close at 9.45 and we end up not having dinner! No snacks or anything quick to eat available! A bit disappointing that no one took care of this issue, not impressed at all on how the manager handled the situation to be honest.
C. C.
We had fantastic cocktails here, the staff were great and the surroundings too
P. B.
Very enjoyable experience with nice food and drink. Staff very attentive.
A. M.
Very nice terrace with parasols and heaters. Wide selection of beers on tap and good food. On the pricier side but worth the premium for the atmosphere. Service is decent as well but could be more attentive.
I. M.
Loved the roast pork and cocktails in a stylish stonework building with courtyard . Great buzz with the cocktail weekend giving a vibrant atmosphere. Will return.
P. B.
Great breakfast and very attentive staff.i would highly recommend.
L. A.
Great place to grab a good pint and some delicious food.
S. N.
Cocktails were good and atmosphere great. We were told someone would take our drinks order but no one came over to us the entire 2 hours. Eventually went to the bar
W. M.
Great food great atmosphere and brilliant staff and service
P. V.
A very interesting and cozy place, attentive and friendly staff. Good place to socialize.. I recommend

Great wee place had a few Christmas drinks and the staff where lovely. The doorman Stephen was a blast and a good friendly character
K. Y.
Absolutely amazing experience made even better by our caring and attentive server Kaeli!! Great food with a large selection of drink options, but what really made the experience was Kaeli going above and beyond. It was our friends birthday and she managed to help us with the cake despite the place being rammed and got everyone in on the birthday celebrations by getting the whole restaurant singing happy birthday!! 8/10 would recommend on its own, 15/10 with Kaeli as your server!
J. M.
Great spot for drinks after work! Good variety of gins and not too expensive!
J. N.
Had a great evening. Our server Ellie Morrison was fantastic
A. Y.
Nice comfortable place for drinks with both good table and bar service. Well ventilated and spacious, highly recommend and will go back for a meal next time.
A. K.
Phoenix was our server and she was very generous and helpful. Super informative and professional. Very pleased with our experience. She was brilliant.
S. B.
Whenever I am back in Edinburgh I come back to this place, absolutely love it and the brunch menu options were an absolute bargain, I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the city!
G. W.
Visited in November 2019, nice quirky bar.
d. f.
Very nice terrace as well as inside. Brewdog on tap!, And . A nice spot to stop for a bite and a pint, great spot to meet friends or colleagues.
E. H.
Very nice hidden away place. Quite quirky with different seating areas including an upstairs and outside dining area. Food was nice and can definitely recommend the prawn pasta linguinie and the crispy halloumi wrap. They also offer a nice range of cocktails. The staff are welcoming and service was good. The meet and greet little blonde hostess girl (melina) was lovely, super friendly and very sweet.
R. 8.
Really nice place, great drinks and staff, food was average.
N. P.
Indigo Yard is one of my favourite bars in Edinburgh, it's a beautiful venue with brilliant cocktails. I went yesterday and every cocktail we ordered was really well made and presented beautifully, and despite the quality and variety of the cocktail menu it isn't as pricey as a lot of other cocktail bars. (I highly recommend their Bramble or Wildflower Paloma). The food on offer was decent but not amazing, but if you're going for cocktails I can't recommend Indigo Yard enough.
N. D.
Firdt work night out in months and a great choice of venue, good food.
F.
Finn was amazing, 5 star service, lovely and attentive. Would recommend.
R. S.
Great place slightly off the main track. Friendly and chatty staff made today's visit pleasant. Good range of beers along with a selection of food.
K.
Amazing value for boozy brunch with interesting cocktail selection
J. C.
Environment felt clean and staff were polite and abiding by covid safety rules.
Food however was disappointing and a bit bland. Quite pricey for a rather dull chicken burger & a pot of skinny chips. Two companions reported same response to their halloumi wraps.
Pleased to be out again and supporting business but wd be keen to try elsewhere next time. Had been here before and enjoyed it very much but underwhelmed on this occasion.
e. s.
We visited during Edinburgh Cocktail week.. cocktail was lovely and we ordered some sides for little snack which was nice. Will definitely visit again.. x

Popped into Indigo Yard when passing. The Ladies on the Team were very helpful getting us space in the Yard with our dog.
They gave us all quality refreshments and food.
Would definitely recommend visiting for the vibe, food, drinks and great team.
P. R.
Has a really nice atmosphere, lovely cosy modern decor and a good choice of drinks and food.
A good place to chill with friends
E. B.
Service was slow but good selection of drinks
D. J.
Really nice atmosphere. The cocktails are very delicious and reasonably priced. Staff are also super friendly and knowledgeable
I. J.
Went here for a drink with my wife. Arrived to a lovely atmosphere with Xmas lights up and looking great. Good range of beers and wines. Had a nice bottle of Katherine Hills Shiraz at 30 pounds and whiled away an hour pleasantly, enjoying the ambience. It was getting busier around 5 o'clock as the office crowd arrived. Good ground floor bar and eating area as well as a mezzanine floor for private parties.
P. S.
Great place, has a good vibe to it. The food was nice and the price was alright. Would recommend if you manage to get a reservation.
S. G.
The staff were nice and friendly and the place was nice
P. D.
This place oozes style and modern chic, I was enjoying its light and airy setting from the moment I walked in. Menu varied and interesting, and a good option for lunch or dinner. Not too expensive for Edinburgh either!
R. P.
Nice surroundings, good food, good drink selection, always busy. A little chaotic with the service but friendly.
W. B.
Waited 25min between ordering drinks and actually getting them. Then we got the bill. Even by town prices it was expensive. The place is nice inside but too over priced for us.
K. S.
The food was decent at best, but the service were great. Patricia was fantastic and accommodating. Ordered the steak sandwich first, the steak was so chewy I had to send it back but Patricia was more than willing to remedy the issue and brought out a chicken club sandwich in replace. Although better, one half of the sandwich only had a quarter sized piece of chicken on it which was rather odd and left half of the sandwich uneaten. The atmosphere and service made up for it bringing my overall review to 3 stars.
G. D.
Wish I'd found it sooner. We had breakfast here in our last morning in Edinburgh which was a Sunday. The food was spot on. A couple of minor gripes are that the portion of baked beans was tiny and the coffee mugs way to small for a first americano of the day. The service was excellent, very welcoming and friendly. The decor was cool and had me wishing I'd knew about it the night before. I would say this place would have had a cool vibe on a Sat night with plenty of people in. And it has to be noted that if the night before was busy the are we were sat in the next morning was spotlessly clean and fresh. Definitely recommended
E.
Steak sandwich was lacking some good boy meat.
J. W.
Lovely food and warm and lovely staff
P. L.
Great service and good selection of beers
A. A.
Good selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere.
C. J.
Lovely meal in beautiful surroundings. Definitely visit again.
A. A.
This is a great place to eat out. Tucked down a lane were they serve tasty food by friendly staff. Felt safe there as the tables were well spaced out. Busy but not over crowded.
s. l.
First time in this bar.
Was not too busy and had a live band.
Overall a nice bar. I would go again.
M. H.
Beautiful, scrumptious food; lovely, friendly staff; comfortable environment, reasonable prices and the best ribeye steak I've ever eaten. Just perfect! Highly recommend.
B.
Great food, great service would definitely eat here again. The server (sorry didn't catch your name) was polite, prompt and well presented.
M. L.
Very busy, luckily we had our table booked, service was good and staff were friendly, good choice of food and cocktails were fabulous
A. E.
Great venue-perfect balance between pub bar and restaurant, lovely staff, very local and fantastic smoked aubergine!
G. M.
Following the visit of my parents in Scotland, we decided to let them taste the Scottish cuisine starting from breakfast. Taking a look on the various Restaurant and cafe', I decided to book a table for breakfast in this place. First of all, the room seemed nice and very quiet. At the entrance we are greeted by a gentle lady, who was absolutely unaware about our reservation, which in my opinion, even if a local is not busy, you must know, at least, who booked. And this already bothered me. Obviously we ordered a typical breakfast called Big Breakfast. The description on the menu included pork and herb sausage, but we only received herb sausage. The food was good, not excellent, a bit overcooked in my opinion and the beans were cold. The coffee was absolutely horrendous, cold and tasteless. the only delicious thing, besides the bacon was the juice. The service was good, the waiter was kind, although visibly bored. I usually leave a tip, and the staff will forgive me if I have not left any, but given the food, and the poor communication between management and staff for the non-communicated reservation, I did not feel like leaving any tips. Certainly I will not return to this place, but I can recommend it to all those who have little time and do not want a 5 * breakfast. To improve!
A. C.
Good atmosphere, great service, went for pre-dinner drinks and had a good te. Wide selection of beers, wine and spirits. Worth a visit
A. W.
Really great vibe in this place. Staff always really warm and welcoming. Great food and lovely section of drinks.
Also a nice outdoor seating area out the front. Great bar
J. R.
OK meal. Food fine but main courses did not appear to be as good as starters at our table. So we felt this was a negative factor. We'd a large group. Staff though very good, very helpful. Ambience nice, we enjoyed this aspect as well.
J. H.
Amazing drinks and decent food! Nice relaxed atmosphere
A. R.
Great atmosphere, almost like being outside only inside. Good choice of beers. Menu very reasonably priced. Food good. Waitress we had was very friendly and gave good service. We felt we had found a little gem and would certainly recommend it and will be back.
B. K.
Even better than I remembered. Had the £10 starter and main which were both fantastic - chicken goujons followed by one of the very best plate of fish and chips I've ever had. All matched by excellent service. Overall a brilliant experience and can't wait to be back next week. 😎👍🤸
R. A.
Happened upon this place just by chance with my wife during our visit to Edinburgh and we were lucky to get a table outside on a very nice day. We also missed the lunch crowd as we got there around 2:30pm on a Thursday.
The food was a bit slow on getting to the table, but our server Nicole was super friendly and very helpful with suggesting menu items for my wife (who has a gluten allergy) and me.
Outside ambience was great given the day and time.
I would go back again in the evening just to see the different vibe on the inside at the busy hour.
Thank you Nicole and Indigo Yard for making our experience positive!
H.
Always enjoy going to this restaurant. Sunday brunch is very good.
A. T.
A really cute place. The drinks were really good. I wasn't too fond of my veggie burger but my friends enjoyed their order.
R. W.
Nice place,,unfortunately the meal I had wasn't cooked well,,great customer service in which I wasn't charged for my meal,,the waitress was very good and offered another meal tho
I. L.
Visited after an international rugby match. Like many bars/restaurants IY was very busy. However, the rear and upper restaurant area were quieter. Thankfully they also took bookings on match day so we were promptly seated, despite arriving early. Service was good and prompt. My burger was excellent and although my son's fish was not the best he's had the fish and chips was good. Would visit again.
A. M.
Great food, the wife's favourite breakfast ever! Top class service & great decor
S. N.
Lovely meal, great setting, great atmosphere/buzz about the place, mind you Scotland had just beaten France at the rugby! I'm sure it still has a great buzz about it even when we lose! Definitely would visit Again!
L. L.
Amazing place! Great staff 👍🏻 and breakfast was yummy! Will definitely be back on my next visit to edinburgh
S. B.
Service was great, food was great, drinks were great but not so great was the fact that we had to return dirty glasses on 2 occasions. We ordered a bottle of prosecco first with 3 glasses...2 were dirty, then we ordered a bottle of wine with 3 glasses...of which 2 were dirty again. This time, we'd poured wine into 1 of these glasses before we noticed and had to take the 2 glasses to the bar. We were provided 2 clean glasses and fresh wine but this shouldn't be happening in an establishment charging v good prices (£32.50 for a bottle of prosecco!).

We came here as a group of 14 for dinner - the experience was fine but it wasn’t amazing.
We were firstly outside, which was a nice area. We took advantage of the festival £4 cocktail offer, which was good.
However, the making of the cocktails was pretty slow - especially when one bartender spent 5 minutes looking for orange juice, which it turned out was finished. (If you are offering a cocktail on a popular £4 offer, which involves orange juice...it might be an idea to order more orange juice than usual so you don’t run out.) I was told - not asked - that I’d be having pineapple juice instead. And, oh, just to let me know they don’t do passionfruit so I’d be having peach instead too...
The food was decent - we mostly ordered burgers, which were good, and the food all arrived at the same time. My colleague said her maple and soy chicken were dry to the point of being inedible, but that was the only complaint I heard. Otherwise, the sides we’d ordered were great - sweet potato fries especially.
When it came to paying the bill, my £50 deposit hadn’t been taken off so I needed to request that. Then, when it was removed, it was removed from the total post-tip, meaning the team effectively netted themselves an extra £4 or so. Not a major deal but also pretty cheeky when a 12% has also been added to the bill for us...
All in all, an enjoyable night with slow-ish service...but I wouldn’t rush back.
T. C.
What a neat place. Great drinks, and loved the food. Service by Sophie and Julie was fantastically friendly... thanks girls!
Also, the Peach Melba Cheesecake that Sophie recommended was divine. Might have to pop back again.
N.
Price is quite high.
I have ordered but the order has been taken long to served.
Toilets are clean
R. G.
We were welcomed by friendly staff. They were attentive without being pesty.
The food was good and well presented.
The restaurant was busy but we weren’t rushed to finish.
We will definitely be back and we will recommend to our friends. With our without special offer.
(There was a special offer for January which we took advantage of. Half price.)
Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Great selection of drinks and delicious cocktails. Nice sheltered outdoor seating area. Only downfall - no outdoor heating
F. H.
Food was quite nice and the waitresses were lovely, but it takes quite a while for the food to come out. Also my deposit hadn't been taken off the bill so I had to ask them to correct this. On the plus side the staff brought us out a couple of cocktail jugs to make up for the wait. Just seems like the place is a bit too busy for them to handle well at peak times so I'd suggest going when it's not too busy and you'll probably have a very different experience.

Visited on a busy Saturday. Jenny was so helpful in getting me a table and provided great service throughout. An asset to the team, especially given how busy it was!
G.
We went for lunch and it's a lovely place. Service was great, very attentive but the only thing that let things down was the roast potatoes with our turkey. Very over cooked and some of us couldn't eat them.
D. R.
Good good, done well, in a really relaxing atmosphere.
m. b.
We came in for lunch today after feeling unwelcome in Quattro Zero and deciding to go elsewhere. This was the right decision.
Service was quick despite clearly still being busy, after presumably an even busier lunch shift. Food was good and drinks came quickly and service was warm and welcoming. Thanks!
M. L.
Great restaurant with an affordable menu. Nice ambiance.
E. M.
Like going here for a drink. Have been once before for a Christmas party but it wasn't great. Felt like they booked as many people as possible to get some money as the place was packed and you literally had to fight to get to the toilet of some fresh air. The gootd was alright at the time but nothing I can remember as amazing. The place is ideal for some drinks after work or at the weekend and looks amazing but I wouldn't go near it at Christmas time or any busy time during the year!
J. P.
Great venue especially with the outdoor area, good for drinks but when you go for food the service needs to sharpen up a bit. Food is good, menu is a bit confusing and the portion sizes are slightly off (I had the mac cheese starter and it was HUGE, but the ox cheek starter was the right size so I shared my starter around). Things just seem a bit 'off' at the moment and there are other places nearby that offer a better dining experience.
M. W.
Cocktails were lovely, docked a star as some confusion over menus meant we got overcharged by a tenner
Edit: I emailed as below but haven't received any reply :(
R. P.
Recommend reservations. Hopping place. Sea bass was nicely done on assorted veg topped with sautéed capers. Beer and scotch selection excellent. My son liked his salmon with risotto. Haggis crusted scotch eggs were a new one to me, but enjoyed. Service was hurried but super attentive and so friendly.
K. T.
Nice food , vibrant attractions
S. R.
A very chilled atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail or two (especially on a quiet Sunday evening)
D. R.
Only had cocktails but they where strong good that could actualy taste the alcohol in the drinks and was not just filled up with ice and juice
P. P.
Always busy. Worth booking a table. Nice food. Could have got up to 4 or 5 stars on the food, BUT there are no non-alcoholic drinks on the drinks menu, and the waitress didn't even know what was available, AND there was a 50% off food offer, which wasn't deducted till I complained. This seems to me more a management failing than a waiting staff problem.
S. D.
Indigo yard is a nice wee place for a drink or food. The beer choice is incredible, the outdoor seating was also very nice during a hot summers day. Service is excellent here and all staff were very nice, can highly recommend the platter in the food menu it was amazing and was nice with some drinks
L. O.
I have been here a dozen times or more for food, cocktails, whisky and have even had the upstairs section for a private event.
Nice atmosphere and rustic, industrial décor. It can get an bit busy and hectic on a Friday & Saturday and it can take a bit longer to get served at the bar.
E. M.
Went for breakfast and the chilli scrambled eggs were lovely, however it took over 40 mins to arrive and the place was empty. We were in a hurry, fine if you do not have any plans. The place was also freezing, however the food was so good that it has redeemed it's 4 stars rather than 3. Friendly staff also.
H. H.
Nice place, food was mainly a hit for the group, but think the group preferred the drinks. Portion sizes are varied, food mostly tastes good. Friendly staff but they were mostly rushed off their feet.
T. C.
If you check my reviews normally, if it's generally decent, I'll give the place five stars but this place was so average in everything for a dining experience that it's getting 3 stars.
I don't think there's enough staff to classify this as a resteraunt. I feel like this would be better as a whole go up to the bar to order food and drinks kinda place. Because it took a fair bit of time to get our orders, for food to be served and for the check to be given.
I ordered the nachos and lamb flatbread. The nachos were decent and had a good amount of nachos, side things and cheese. The lamb flatbread which is one of the more expensive things on the menu wasn't that good in my opinion. The lamb didn't taste of much and it kinda felt like a more expensive kebab that you'd get on a night out. The chips were the best part of my mains.
To the credit of the servers they were consistently asking if everything was okay but I'm not sure what they could have done if I said anything.
This place might be better to just get drinks at the outside bit. Won't go back for food inside.
M. h.
Great selection of beers and cocktails
A. H.
Very nice inside and incredibly friendly staff who were able to move us from a table near the door to somewhere further in the bar. Very varied menu for drinks.
D. R. F.
Good food, very reasonable prices. It was a hot and sunny midweek day, and naturally it was very busy at lunchtime. Whoever runs this place should make sure there are enough staff on days they know they will be busy, as the poor chap serving everyone outside was absolutely run off his feet!
T. C.
Loved the place and Shannon is lovely, her cocktails look so pretty!!
M. S.
Pricey but friendly wine bar that's reinvented itself around craft beer. Don't touch the cask ale because they don't know how to keep it, but the wide range of keg beers are fine. Dog friendly, and with a small beer garden for warmer days.
R. K.
Love it, fab service every time we’ve been, and I know we’ll come back each time we’re back in Edinburgh. Lovely, friendly staff who will give an honest opinion and truly try their best to help out their customer base. You can tell there is real harmony throughout the staff base, everyone gets on swimmingly and the wants the best for everyone around.
D. O.
Had a nice ambience, drinks seemed a little more expensive than the surrounding area. The decor and ambient lighting certainly ly added to the atmosphere. Didn't try the food, however it looked and smelled delicious.
R. H.
Great food and service, went there two years ago and still as lovely, different flower's this time on the wall. Two main meals for ten pounds.🥂🍸 drinks 😋. Had a great day out with my friend. Will be back very soon, just got a job on the high Street there.
R. B.
The food was good, we were sitting under an air conditioning vent which was cold and when we mentioned it to the waitress nothing was done and we had to ask to move seats rather than be offered. A lot of what was on the menu was not available. Maybe we just chose a bad time to go...
A. N. H.
Normally enjoy indigo yard, have been before for their 2 courses for £10 which was really good. However today (a Saturday) we arrived to watch the rugby. Knowing that the food is good we ordered. The atomosphere and the waiting staff were brilliant. We ordered hallomi sticks, nachos, chips and Mac and cheese. The food was tasty but we were appalled at the potion sizes that arrived. Extremely small. Not posh small but small small. Leaving us hungry with a very expensive bill!
A. R.
Good beer. Food wasn't bad but waited ages for it.
D. S.
A bustling hub for drinks and socialising. Great atmosphere and excellent food with a good range of drinks too. I visited on a wold wet day but they've got good outdoor covered areas and it was warm and welcoming. The food was excellent but the portions were small and the bill was big.
D. K.
I come here mainly for their Staropramen tank beer.
It's pricey at £5.70 per pint but tastes very fresh.
Food is good to but just had nibbles with my beer like their scotch egg.
L. B.
A somewhat disappointing visit. Arrived and were given regular menus, and we'd selected from these only to be told only the 3 course festive menu was available. Kind of disappointing but fine, we thought we'd go with it. I can't eat dairy - was pleased to find a dairy free menu available but starter selection poor. Then, after ordering, was advised there had been a mess up in the kitchen and the dairy free desserts contained butter so I could have sorbet and fruit. Then was served just sorbet. Still charged for 2 courses though...
Was rather annoyed to see other people being served food which was not on the festive menu too.
a. b.
Beautiful bar and restaurant pretty much in the center of Edinburgh. We got the 2 meals for a tenner and the food was amazing. Can't fault the place. Very clean aswell
S. d. M.
Indigo Yard is a comfortable bistro with a nice ambience - I feel comfortable there. The coffee is good, they have a big selection of beers and ale, and the food (duck tacos for me) is tasty. It's a nice place - you won't be disappointed.
J. K.
Nice place. Well decorated and spacious, with outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Does an absolutely massive cooked breakfast ('The Whole 9 Yards'), and the staff are attentive. Recommended.
P. L.
Decent bar, good food. Nice little outdoor area tucked away in the city.
A. D.
The staff were quite busy and could have been a bit more attentive. But there was a good selection of food on the menu and everything was really delicious! It was reasonably expensive but worth paying a bit extra
P. C.
Honestly, this place is really good value for money, has a great vibe about it and the decoration is fab. Went there with some friends for dinner to find out that the staff were lovely and the food was even better. I had the gnocchi and they were absolutely delicious. Plus, it's not expensive at all.
J. M.
Delicious IY breakfast, excellent ! Sunday early, quiet, covered but airy out door area, attentive service, good Covid care. Will return.
M. H.
Great place with fair prices and very good service.
I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a good lunch.
I haven’t had the breakfast but I can say the cheff makes a mean egg based on the one that came on my burger lol
G.
Don't bring your dogs. Phoned to see if it was ok but quickly realised that it's not suitable. Loud music, no water provided and asked for music to be turned down but to no avail. But the food and service was very good.
A. G.
One of my favorite pubs in West End. The atmosphere is absolutely cool and the beer selection it's endless. The decorations are awesome and it has a beer garden too. During the week days there are special offers both for drinks and food, so you can get a pint for les than 3 pounds.
D. R.
I went to Indigo Yard as part of a work event. It was a very nice place. Decorated very festive which was great to get into the Christmas spirit. They had lots of beers to choose from but I stuck to the house red which was delicious. We had hot finger food which was tasty. Good quality nibbles! Would recommend this for a work/group get together.
H. C.
This place has an epic vibe - we loved it. However we decided to give it a 4 because the food was ‘fine’ (not excellent) and the service was ‘ok’ (a bit slow). I would still recommend it as a place to check out in Edinburgh though!
E. R.
Lovely staff . We were outside and it started pouring. Staff brought us inside was had a brilliant time.
J. L.
Really like the atmosphere. Barmen are professional and polite. Wide choice of good cocktails and original beers :)!
Never ordered food their though.
M. v.
the building is amazing, the decor really thoughtful. For the summer time, all the outside area with massive wooden benches is a big attraction. A little bit over priced compared to other cocktail bars in the area but the surroundings make up for it. service can be a little slow as it is always very busy.
G. H.
I went here with my wife one Sunday for brunch as she was going to an event being held there.
We sat in a quiet corner booth and were pleased to find that the breakfast menu was served all day on Sundays and that they serve artisan roast coffee.
The place was busy lots of couples, groups and families with kids but the place was not to loud and we were able to chat and hear each other over breakfast.
A friend of my wife's joined us for coffee before they went upstairs to the event and I left to do my own thing, but could have happily sat there for a while longer with another coffee or two and enjoyed a lazy Sunday morning
S. S.
Fantastic loaded bacon roll in a tasty bun, what more do you need? A coffee, well thats good as well. Lovely.
N. G. (.
Nice atmosphere, good food and a wide range of drinks.
R. M.
The four stars are because of the absolutely great deco and environment. But the beers are a wee bit overpriced, most of them costing more than 5 pounds q pint, and the attendants in the bar were not really friendly. Also the music was sometimes inappropriate for the atmosphere of the pub. Would recommend this pub for a friend, though.
G. N.
Love the vibe and atmosphere in this place. Fabulous drinks menu. Dinner was good quality and reasonably priced. We ate off the starter and main for 12.50 menu and it was lovely.
M. E.
Great space! There's the inside, the outside and a part which seems half inside and half outside. Lots of nooks and crannies in a cool urban style. Good food and great range of beers including the "tank beer".
S. B.
Fun place for cocktails. I haven't eaten here but from what I could see the food looked nice too. Extensive drinks menu and reasonable prices. Lively atmosphere and friendly staff.
P. D. L. N.
Great place in the Edinburgh West End. Lovely and rustic deco, remarkable lamps’ ceiling arrangements and very friendly & approachable floor/bar staff.
Indigo Yard has a great selection of ales, beers and lagers… but is not the place to get booze-hammered though, unless you are willing to re-mortgage you second home.
The place was very busy with families, groups of office parties and the usual suspects, adding colour, diversity and happiness to the joint.
Will certainly go back to taste the food and filter more of that Cornish Pilsner. Recommended.
j. c.
Good food, great selection of beers
E. L.
Superb cocktails and superb food. Lovely friendly attentive staff too.
A. G.
It's ok. Can get busy so a wait at the bar might be the order of the day.
E. P.
I first went to Indigo Yard on a rare sunny day in May which meant I spent most of my time in the beer garden drinking cocktails. And you know what? It was the perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday!
We happily worked our way through the cocktail menu and they were all amazing! While they were a little on the expensive side they were reasonably sized and you got plenty of alcohol in them which makes a nice change from some other bars in Edinburgh, where you can pay the same price for the same quality of mojito you would get in your local Spoons!
I'll definitely be back.
E.
Indigo Yard is a great place for a few drinks and it get's pretty lively after work, however the food didn't overly impress us on our last couple of visits.
Whilst there are some good lunchtime deals, the portion size was a little on the small side, perhaps folk in the city centre don't eat as much.
I wouldn't hesitate to visit for drinks though, it's a very cool bar, perfect for socialising with friends after work.
J. E.
One of my favourite places in Edinburgh with an outside seating area so you can have a drink and vape and smoke. Also they allow dogos.
Can get very crowded on the weekends but a great place
S. C.
Lovely surroundings and bigger inside than it initially suggests - there are tables upstairs and through the back. Drinks tend perhaps a bit toward the pricier end of things, but there is a decent selection of bottled and draught beers, wines and cocktails. The two courses for £10 deal is great - especially for lunchtime.
S. R.
The place looks great, good beer selection although a little bit pricey. The food was really poor quality. I'd skip on the food but a cool place to hang out for drinks.
N. C.
We had IY breakfast. Delicious and big portions. Lovely service.
D. E.
Good food and nice server
B. A.
Great place to visit for couple of drinks
C. W.
The food was good, ambiance was fine. We just waited a very long time to be served and for our food to arrive. Hard to tell whether this was just a blip on the radar or an ongoing problem.
K. H.
Looked lovely with all the Christmas decorations let down with their Xmas menu. Normally food is really good but was a little disappointed this time. However, won't put me off
M. H.
Indigo Yard is a great place to go whether you're meeting someone for a quick drink or having a meal. You can sit inside the yard, which is actually an old yard with a roof, or the covered seating area out the front. It's got a great selection of beers, wines and spirits, which are reasonably priced for the centre of town but not cheap. The food is also good but not amazing.
D. S.
Turkey was drier than the Sahara, and wine prices seemed massively inflated for Christmas and/or brexit. The service was reasonable and the place was well decked out. One of the heaters outside was gubbed. You get the idea.
T. A.
Dogs allowed inside without question. Visited for breakfast. Bacon and pancakes yummy. Good service friendly staff. One to remember for next visit
B.
Went here for lunch recently with friends and really liked the atmosphere and decor. We were sat in a comfortable booth and mostly chose things from the offer on the menu (I think it might have been 2 mains for £10). Nik and I shared a starter as I was intrigued to try the wild mushrooms on sun-dried tomato toast. This was very nice but I was a bit disappointed as the toast we received was actually just rustic wholemeal (although still tasty). We both had the burger as our main course and they were delicious! Well cooked, nicely seasoned and juicy but with crispy edges. I also liked the accompaniments and drinks we chose. I had a blueberry smoothie and fizzy water. I loved the glasses they were served in too!
Dessert was a bit more of a let down. We all ordered hot chocolates as they sounded amazing (made with melted chocolate, not powder) and we all chose the double chocolate one rather than the more unusual rose & black pepper or lemongrass & white chocolate. We also paid the extra for macarons on the side (even me as I wanted to take them home) and I ordered the mulled cherry rice pudding as it sounded too good to miss!
My rice pud came first, served in a kilner jar it was nice and hot and very tasty. The cherries were lovely with a hint of spices and just enough tartness against the sweet, creamy rice pud. Unfortunately our hot chocolates took ages to arrive and some of them were barely warm when they did come. I'd already finished my pudding and our macarons were served first so we had waited patiently only to be disappointed. The other weird thing was that we all agreed they tasted spicy - like chilli chocolate. When I questioned our waitress about this she asked the guy who'd made them and we saw his incredulous reaction as he exclaimed "Chilli?!?" Apparently, they were just plain chocolate but since all four of us tasted a kick, we have no idea where that came from. I'm glad it wasn't just me going mad!
Our first server was much more efficient and capable than our second. The macaron flavours we all chose were quite mixed up and some had to be changed as she'd forgotten what we asked for. She seemed a bit confused at times and we were worried about asking about the hot chocolates. I sent mine back as I wasn't enjoying it, even if I was given another hot one I wouldn't have liked it. Given the time we'd spent waiting, I didn't want to order another hot drink as everyone would be waiting and as I said, I'd already finished my pudding. She was quite insistent that she could bring me another but eventually accepted that I really didn't want one. My hot chocolate was taken off the bill and I was allowed to keep my macarons so that did make up for some of the disappointment.
Overall, it was good value for money. Lara's starters (she had 2 starters instead of a main) were particularly good value as the portions were huge and looked delicious! I would go back again as the issues I've mentioned above were only minor and we did enjoy the food.
J. m. w.
Very friendly service & good food in very nice setting !
J. B.
Fabulous place. Excellent service with a smile. Food was tasty and beautifully presented. Great atmosphere. Hope to return
K. G.
Very popular bar, that also serves food. There can be a decent selection of beers when available. Not the biggest place but there is some outdoor seating. I've had food a few times, it's been ok but quite expensive for what you get.
G. B.
Really good bar to visit when your in Edinburgh
K. S.
Great food, lovely ambience, but a bit slow on service and attention by staff. Waited half an hour before drinks were served on a quiet Thursday afternoon.
C. H.
Solid food, great service.
A. K.
Nice place with a huge selection of beers and cocktails and also food. The place is quite big, with lots of tables indoor and outdoor seating for the summer. Staff is friendly.
T. S.
Great selection of beers good food. Made a fuss of our dog
A. M.
If you like music loud then this is the place for you! Young, trendy crowd - not the place to go for a conversation over a quiet drink. Fantastic food and friendly, accommodating staff.
N. C.
It's okay - there are always groups of people on a work social who act like they've not been out for years - lots of tragic signing and obnoxious behaviour. Good drink selection, lovely garden seating area.
C. W.
Good food and handy West end location. Friendly and capable staff.
D. G.
Great little find on our first day here. Great food, large portions and very friendly staff
D. W.
Impressive selection of craft beer if you like to experiment. Food is good. However for me has tried to be too trendy. A tad expensive for what it represents.
J. M.
This is my wifes rating she was there yesterday , staff excellent covid well handled food excellent
k.
Fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff. I like the industrial style of this place.
J. G.
I like this place for going out in Edinburgh. Good atmosphere, not too busy. Food is great. People always seem to be friendly. Great start to a good night out.
A. Y.
Well run. Unfortunately my chicken skewers were not up to par. Tasty but too fatty? Pudding was excellent.
R. H.
Great atmosphere either for drinks or a meal, friendly staff and good value for money.
M. G.
Nice bar, good choice of lager and friendly staff.
J. L.
Amazing breakfasts - highly recommend the rosti!
m. r.
Came last minute great grub and very covid correct many thanks loved the tacos 🌮see you again soon 😀
J. M.
Great atmosphere bar. Can be very busy but understandably so. Good drink options, good food in the restaurant side, little outdoor area
H. H.
The food was lovely but we did wait a while before we got it. Apart from that we all had a lovely time & the staff were amazing xx
J. O.
Friendly service , nice food & pleasant decor.
D. M.
Wouldn't have normally found this as it's off the beaten track but had a decent vibe about the place 👌
R. H.
Really nice inside but the outside back lane is a bit horrible.
Food was a mixed bag, nachos really nice but burger was mega salty.
Some cool beers though.
R. B.
Indigo Yard is a great place to go for a bite to eat or some drinks. Quite varied menu often with a good deal on.
Food has always been consistently nice, able to sit big groups and also quite cosy in the booths. Often have live music from Bleeker on a Thursday night, who are really great if you can catch them on.
Surroundings are really nice and a bit different. All in all a lovely place to visit. Well situated if you are in town for other things as well.
R. F.
Staff was so welcoming and seen to our needs that suited us! ♥️
d.
One of the most gorgeous well cared for bars in Edinburgh. Loving the xmas decoration 💖 well trained and friendly staff and quality live music.. 200% recomended for the handsome ones 🙃
A. H.
Absolutely amazing 100% recommend to anyone of any age. The only downside is that children under 18 aren't allowed in past 7 pm for licensing issues but food is amazing!!
M. C.
Really fun atmosphere, and a really cool tap/copper keg system. The outdoor/indoor space and the multiple levels made it feel like different places entirely, which added to the fun.
L. M.
Relaxed and friendly staff, great for sitting outdoors.
J. W.
Nice vibe. We got meaks from the 2 for £10 menu and they were fine. Good music and cocktail menu.
I. W.
Same as it ever was. Über trendy with 'oh so cool' barstaff. Good for a quiet afternoon drink when quiet. Could easily get wearing if not there 'to see and be seen'. But, hey, plus ça change?
A. 1.
Staff was nice! Food was great, although it did take a little while to be served. That means it's fresh.
R. M.
I visited Indigo Yard with some friends last night and really enjoyed it. On a Friday night it tends to be packed with suits or people celebrating the end of the working week, so it's busy but you won't have to wait too long to grab a drink. There is a good selection of booze, including Innis & Gunn (a local award winning beverage) on tap which in my eyes makes the place a real winner already. There's normally a DJ or live music at weekends too which helps add to the atmosphere. It definitely feels upmarket, one of the places to be seen in Edinburgh, very much like the bars found on George Street so you probably want to dress up to look the part - that said you won't be kicked out if you are wearing something a bit more comfortable. On warmer days there is also a "beer garden" (don't take the garden part too literally) where you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. I didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. A cool, fun venue for a night out - but if you want a table indoors get there early at the weekend :-)
J. S.
Went here for a hangover all-day breakfast and it was really good, hit the spot. Reasonably priced and a really really nice interior. Definitely worth a visit!
M. N.
Nice bar, friendly staff, great service.
G. F.
Delicious lunch and very good value at 2 meals for £10 with excellent service from the staff. Love the decor. Well worth a visit.
p. e.
Lovely place. Food okay. Staff friendly. Gin not your thing Tue-Fri large wine £3.50 !
L. F.
Nice ales. Loud. Long waits at the bar but the staff were nice. The live music was a million times better than the regular music.
H. K.
Nice food and friendly service. We went on a Wednesday night and it was quite busy! Definitely recommend booking like we did.
K. S.
Portion size (one of each item) pretty small, and service was slower than expected (waited 20mins for food and about 5mins for coffee). Service was friendly otherwise.
E. F.
Saturday lunch was done at Indigo Yard in the heart of Edinburgh’s West End. Specialising in Artisan eats and craft beers Indigo Yard is a trendy (shudders at the use of that awful word) spot to catch up with friends and enjoy some nice food in the heart of the capital.
I had been once before many moons ago, don’t ask me when or what I had to eat because I won’t lie to you, I have no idea! I do know, I had a ginger beer to drink though. I digress. Saturday we went off there for lunch to get in away from the snow storm and to catch up on the happenings of the week.
The first thing that strikes you about Indigo Yard is the decor. It is rustic with added fairy lights for a relaxed atmosphere. The food can be hit or miss. The first time I ventured here – although I can’t remember specifically what I had – it was delicious. This time was a bit of a let down. We opted for the sharing platter and some chips. The sharing platter was a nice selection of Pate, Chicken Skewers (you did only get two which was a bit of a let down, gimmie more chicken!!) some olives and ribs which to be honest had about as much meat on them as a carrot?! That’s a saying right?? You are probably thinking well you probably opted for a weak choice but being in the Centre of Edinburgh with Centre of Edinburgh prices you would expect something a little more thought out. The one saviour was the delicious Rekorderlig on draft. Delicious in its non-draft form but something about a draft cider just makes it all the more wonderful.
I would go back to Indigo Yard and experience more of the menu but I won’t be racing back for food any time soon. For drinks, yes. It is the perfect location for some drinks especially with their cocktail menu. Yum yum.
G. D.
Atmosphere is great, prices are a bit steep for the quantity of food however quality is decent. Recommended for lunches or after work drinks
S. I.
Very busy when we visited ,but a great place to eat, beer good too , mixed menu from fish and chips to Moroccan lamb.
C. M.
Never have I seen such a good looking place in such a nestled away area. The entrance is only a quaint gateway to the wonder that is it’s food, drinks, and style. Would come again.
L. L.
Hogmanay and every mouthful is the most delicious bouche amusee ever. The staff are wonderful and I can't fault this very special restaurant in any way whatsoever.
M. B.
Nice open space in the West End, staff very welcoming and helpful, recommending good local beers based on personal preference. Modern inside and nice, covered outdoor space
m. h.
Loved the atmosphere.nothing was problem for staff. Meal had steak.was great. Recommend to everyone.
M. &. D. A.
Great food in informal lively setting. Staff friendly.
W. M.
Lovely as usual staff are hard working but still have time for every one
S. B.
We went here for our work Christmas lunch last year and were really impressed with a good value menu, lovely cocktails and good service. We're returning this year again!
J. S.
Friendly straff, really good selection of beer,
Nice atmosphere. The food though left a little more to wish for.
M. B.
Reasonable food & drink prices.
Friendly & helpful staff.
Will visit again.
D. G.
Always have a great night here!
K. M.
One of my top 10 bars in Edinburgh - have been dozens of times for drinks and food, and it's never disappointed, all whilst having a fantastic venue.
J. M.
Their 2 for £10 lunch deal is fantastic - I don't know if they've changed chef but the previously 'okay' burgers are now fantastic, especially for £5.
H. A.
Lovely place just a but pricey for students. Very covid safe also
c. r.
Really nice ambiance, good selection of beer but definitely too loud in the evening. Dont expect to eat having a conversation
A. W.
For is decent. The staff are very friendly. I think it needs a bit of a revamp but good food and not to expensive.
R. O.
Unique with excellent food and top notch staff. One star off for substandard furniture very poor for lumber support.
R. M. M.
After waiting for over an hour we were able to flag down a waitress to ask for coffees. Made good use of a booth during the time.
C. G.
Great choice of food and drink. Very friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Dogs welcome!
L. M.
Lovely and quiet place. Indoors and outdoors to enjoy a nice night out. In the city centre of Edinburgh. I really like it!
R. S.
From Seattle Wa. USA. Ate here twice now. Food was fantastic both times for dinner and breakfast. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
A. K.
Nice atmosphere, laid back weekday evening. Food at a high level, great selection of beers and other drinks too.
P. F. M.

I had chicken and could not get enough of it. Really tastey and reasonable priced. Scotch egg starters are lovely.

Restaurant and bar. Their unusual menu caught my eye so I thought I'd try it. Friendly staff and modern decor.
C. M.

Staff are inattentive, food quality is below average. But good drink selection and live music on a Friday 👌🏽
W. A.
Good selection of beers and a food menu that caters for a range of diets, the zucchini fries & basil mayo are really good. Run by the same people as Montpeliers in Bruntsfield.

Enjoyed 4 course meal & entertainment for Hogmanay. Great atmosphere. Was surprised bar still open to the public though

Always a go to for drinks in Edinburgh
A. A.
Good selection of drinks but the place is a bit small. Went there for a Xmas night out, very unorganised
M. P.
Bit of a West End institution. Popular with the after work crowd on a Friday. Nice little outdoor seating area on a pretty cobbles street.
L. T.
Nice staff. Good for drinks. Not had meal but hear it's good
J. B.
Very busy and noisy. We were put in an area in the rear which was quieter and we enjoyed some good food and company.
W. T.
Great bar that gets lively later on. Check out the cocktail specials for slightly more affordable drinks.
K. K.
An institution when it comes to Edinburgh bars, but regularly updates to stay fresh. Good range of beer selections and does decent food.

I love Indigo Yard. Really nice venue. Good food and nice staff. They have a lovely beer garden also.
M. P.
Cool and trendy, Indigo Yard is a very popular after work spot. Staff are friendly and attentive and the prices aren't bad considering your surroundings.
I. B.

Nicely decorated bar for a drink, but it is on the expensive side. Expect to pay £7-10/drink. Friendly, helpful staff.

Good place for a spot of lunch, one of the few places in west end that has some outdoor space. Great selection of beers on tap!
A. J.
Great food and atmosphere , the service speed was quite low though
J. M.
Good for a night out. Good was good. Drink a bit dear
T. C.
If you check my reviews normally, if it's generally decent, I'll give the place five stars but this place was so average in everything for a dining experience that it's getting 3 stars. …
B. T.
Good food at a good price and nice selection of drinks
S. S.
Great food and even better service
H. B.
A fairly quiet restaurant in a good central location. The food was nice and the staff were very considerate.
L. B.
Love Indigo Yard but they seriously need to sort out the smell coming out the gents toilet it's enough to put you of your food.
J. B.

Great selection of beers and some interesting Christmas themed cocktails, let down by slow service and horrible stench coming out of toilets (we had to move seats to escape it).
