We had the burgers at Luxford both sit in and through delivery. A good variety of choices when sit in with the special menu, and well-thought mix of toppings. The patty was fine and overall the burgers were delicious. And I prefer the beef over the chicken ones, not particularly impressed with the fried chicken though - I tried that through delivery which may impact the quality. In addition, their delivered burgers were well packaged with foil which I appreciated.

Not a burger fan but this is my new favorite go to in Edinburgh for sweet potato fries. Tip: Add bacon bits and cheese for some extra feel good. It’s cheap and cheerful. The Oreo milkshake was recommended and instantly became a favorite, so definitely go for that. Best to book a table before you head there or place an order on Deliveroo.

The burgers were great, especially the breakfast club burger. The sweet potato fries were so good, they were crispy and didn't get soggy at all. Definitely recommend the beef burgers. The chicken tenders were also really moreish especially with the lux sauce. Absolutely would recommend but try and get a seat close to the bar, it's very busy with delivery drivers.

Great burgers in a city with endless burger joints. These are definitely up there 👍 Great server. He remembered me from my first visit and even remembered where I sat and what I ordered. Which was a nice touch. Took my girlfriend today and she really enjoyed it too. Excellent fries and dips and good selection of drinks. Especially the draft selection 🍻 we will return 😎

Absolutely amazing burgers! Great value l, portions sizes were good and staff were friendly. We tried the Chicken Run, the Westworld, sweet potato fries, pint of Camden Hells lager and a Biscoff/Rocky Road milkshake - all of which were brilliant! We visited for dinner before a gig at the Queen's Hall just round the corner and found parking fine at the Just Park across the road. We pre-booked a table online but they also do a lot of takeaway/deliveries.

I used to order a lot of takeaway from Luxford back during the COVID pandemic and it was amazing! They had amazing burgers and very nice gluten free buns upon request. I loved having a place that I could it amazing burgers as someone that can’t have gluten. A couple weeks ago I decided to pay them a visit in person for the first time after the opening of their new place and I was excited. However, to my surprise they didn’t have gluten free buns that day, which is understandable, so they offered to give me a bun less burger. I figured it was just that they didn’t have gluten free buns that day so didn’t think much of it. However, I decided to give them a try again past Friday and again and they informed me they no longer have gluten free buns. It is very sad that I can no longer order from Luxford, a place that I used to love, because they don’t have gluten free options, so I won’t be returning. Nonetheless, the burgers are delicious, they have vegetarian options, and change their specials frequently, so I definitely recommend to anyone.

I wish half stars were possible as I'd give 3.5 / 5. I ordered the Westworld burger with a side of katsu fries. The burger was okay, however it was quite dry. You find yourself stopping for a drink every bite. The only thing that kept it moist was the silly amount of BBQ sauce on it. It was okay, but I wouldn't rave about it. However if you want to go off looks, it looked amazing. I had a oreo milkshake which was really tasty!! Tasted like Oreos duh! The fries were great for the first few bites. But the chicken they topped it with was also very dry, and the only thing keeping that moist was the obscene amount of katsu mayo on it. The mayo was tasty. But after a couple fork fulls I found myself feeling queezy at how it tasted. There was just far too much mayo on it, it was sickly. I couldn't finish them, and I didn't even want to take them away in a box, and that's saying something for me.

Quirky restaurant with great food. I was staying locally for work and met a colleague who is an Edinburgh local. He had eaten here before and recommended it. We were warmly greeted at the front desk and shown to our table, I might recommend booking as it isn’t large and I can imagine there might be a wait on busier times. I started with a rather amazing Oreo milkshake, for my meal I went for the chicken tenders with a side of chicken katsu fries, the food was spot on and more than enough for a main meal. Highly recommended.

Popped by for a wee milkshake & chips date this week and realised I had yet to review my new favourite burger place in Edi!! It's nearly impossible to pick a favourite menu item as everything I've tried from Luxford has been delicious. Recently I've been loving the City of Lost Children burger and the Parasite chicken burger. Yum! But the best part of Luxford burgers may be the (unpictured) loaded fries. The Chicken Katsu Fries were lifechanging for me, and the chef was kind enough to sprinkle a little spring onion on top for some extra bite. Thank you!! The new Truffle Parm Fries have been incredible as well and I can't wait for the next Luxford special.

Good selection of different burgers, which offered a range of experience. Sides were equally interesting and a range or sauces. Not just a simple burger! Service was good, location and set up was nice. Been looking for a good milkshake and this definitely filled that!

Food is pretty good but overall atmosphere and staff are a bit strange. We walked in and asked for a table for two. Waiter asked if we had a booking, we said no (assumed it was fine and there was only one other table in the place). He replied he had space but would need the table back in one hour. For who? The place was empty lol

Came here for lunchtime on a Friday, which is normally busy everywhere else in town. I don't know what it is, whether it's the slightly off beat location or something else, but we were the only diners in the entire place for the duration. I did notice Deliveroo riders picking up orders, but to be the only people in the restaurant for almost two hours is genuinely an odd feeling. To add insult to injury, all draughts were off - and they only had one beer and one cider on offer. Weird, right? The menus reflected this as well. Tons of spirits and wines behind the bar, but the place seemed like it was about to shut down with no real selection of drinks. To be fair, the reason we were here was for the burgers which I had previously had at a popup. So, the food is good enough to drag you back, and the burgers are genuinely good. They order in buns from somewhere else, and it shows, but can't go wrong with the burgers and fries. I wanted to give this at least four stars but the dining experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Ordered this evening for the first time from Luxford.Order number #9999 and we got a LOL re our delivery notes on our receipt ! We decided to go with the Meal Deal for 2 and opted for “The Shrek” burgers, a side of “Chicken Katsu Fries” & a side of “Chicken Tenders” .. and of course our drinks Bundaberg Ginger Beer & Diet Coke. Everything was Yummalicious ! And it was delivered on time with a smile ! We definitely enjoyed our food & will be ordering from Luxford more often ! Highly Recommended 🍔

Ate here with my wife and a couple of friends last night. First up - the food was really good. All four of us had different burgers, and they were all amazing. Sides were pretty good, and the boozy milkshakes looked great (I was driving, so didn't get to try). However... The service was pretty poor. We only had an hour before moving on to see a show - should have been plenty of time to grab a burger and fries, but we ended up rushing our food before we had to leave. The staff were friendly & helpful, but they seem to have a problem with order management. While we were there, multiple Deliveroo drivers came and went with their orders while we sat there waiting, and waiting... Despite letting our server know we had to be out in an hour. I understand that food places are having to supplement income by taking delivery orders, but this shouldn't be at the expense of sitting customers. In summary - great place to go for a gourmet burger & fries, just don't go with the expectation it'll be quick.

I write this from the depths of a blissful food oblivion. Been looking for a good burger delivery place for a while but no restaurant had made a lasting impression yet, until now. We ordered the shrek, some chicken sides and the star of the evening (for me), the chicken katsu fries. Please - and I beg here - don’t ever take them off the menu, this will definitely be my new comfort food. Delivery came perfectly packaged, everything was still warm and the burger and chicken had been cooked to a perfect crispy-but-moist point. Will order again.

Best burgers in Edinburgh for sure, have been dining in quite frequently. Had a tough time during my last visit ,they changed my order atleast thrice before letting me know they ran out of chicken, service was not good. I hope the management looks into this. I am a big fan of their burgers.

Ordered via deliveroo. We ordered the meal deal for 4, we found it a bit misleading that you have to pay extra for drinks, and certain burgers, but it still turned out to be a reasonable price - I think it would be less so if there wasn’t 4 of us though. They forgot to send 2 of the fries, but we rang up and they sent them out with another deliveroo driver which was really good. They dealt with the issue quickly and well. I had the Fight Club burger and it was genuinely the tastiest burger that I’ve ever had. The mango salsa was delicious. It was a huge burger, with plenty of filling and a nice bun. The burger tasted as good as it looked in the pictures on the Deliveroo menu! I also tried some of the rarebit loaded fries, they were delicious with generous toppings, and worth the extra cost in my opinion. The oreo milkshake was a good size and again very tasty. I would recommend this place to anyone, they were the best burgers we’ve ever had!

Didn’t want to give one star review. But the waiting time is REALLY long. The expected arrival time changes for at least FIVE time. At first, I have already waited long for them to accept the order, so I even phoned them to remind them to check my order. But still, I waited for a REALLY long time, nearly an hour, for 2km distance. It is just unacceptable. I changed it for three stars, because the food is good and hot. I would recommend the owner to adjust for the average waiting time on deliveroo to manage customer’s expectations. A note: the crispy sweet potato in the burger got softened as it got heated up during the delivery.

Holy moly where to start, the crispy chicken on the Donnie Darko was perfectly seasoned, crispy and moist, any my god do they give you a lot of it, the entire burger in fact was impressive! at 50% bigger than what id expected! And OMG, the bacon, Luxford hold a place for me as the only other restaurant I have ever eaten at to have the bacon actually crispy and suitably darkened. Will absolutely be coming back here. But of course nothing is perfect and so I provide my one and only piece of feedback, my constructive criticism... add mote vegetables, add a few rings of tomato and onions on there as a standard.

Great burgers, I had an incredibly juicy and tasty Donnie Darko. Partner had a great onion, garlic and gluten free burger. Skin on fries with rosemary salt were very moreish. Service was friendly and efficient, and the decor simple but stylish. Good buzz and the most amazing views of Arthur’s Seat. Would say it’s a must have in old Edinburgh.

Little shoddy on initial reception but realised that they were totally bowled under when we went in with only a few front of house staff. Staff exceptionally nice and helpful, especially Mhairi. Very kind and extremely polite. Helpful with suggestions and made us laugh a few time. Very sweet person. I am not exaggerating here when I say this but both the onion rings and burger I had were the best I've ever tasted in a long long time possibly the best and I have eaten a lot of burgers in my life from cheap to expensive. High quality and firm but juicy beef and tasty ingredients. Beats pretty much every single burger place in Edinburgh that I've been to, by far. Onion rings don't just disembark in your mouth. They are crunchy and tasty and sti k together. . I don't think anyone will be disappointed going here. I recommend sitting in vs ordering as the poor delivefoo etc drivers were waiting a while. The chefs must have been flat out the whole night. Even then, food came pretty damn quick.

The food was very nice but it took a while till we got seated and the menues - all a bit slow going and unclear despite our wish to get the bill with our food (we were a bit in a hurry) & us being the only customers in the place.
