M. S.After going to the one at the Mound and had a great experience, found this branch down the street with more seating downstairs. The lamb shank was delicious, so tender. My friend enjoyed her chargrilled chicken. We shared sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Very friendly staff. My friend and I are basically obsessed with Makars, this restaurant was the highlight of our Edinburgh trip.

Can't think of a better place to enjoy a delicious lunch; a hearty plate of mash & lamb shank, with a glass or 2 of Merlot, followed by a cheeky sticky toffee pudding.... Makars you are spoiling us & I like it! Don't miss out, go & enjoy the varied menu...my vegetarian companion was well satisfied with the plant based choices, then tell your friends that you have found a little piece of culinary heaven in the heart of Edinburgh with a mash for every occasion...
