Really nice staff, very spacious and accommodating to me and my family. Hard finding places with a toddler. Food was nice and churros were excellent! Only reason not a 5* is nachos were not great and the toilets were not convenient with a child, down flight of stairs and right in the back corner.

Mariachi has such a great atmosphere! The decor is awesome, fun and festive without being annoying. The drink selection was amazing and delicious. We ordered a “The Don” and a “Pamplona”. We also ordered a appetizer, the elotes. They were so delicious, we ordered a second serving. We each got the chicken enchiladas, and they were also delicious. They were coated in sauce and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The only thing they were missing was spice!

The service at Mariachi was good overall, although sometimes I was difficult to find the waitress. The food was quickly delivered to the table, that was a pleasant surprise. The flavour overall although s OK, with this I am not trying to say it was bad but it was not outstanding. The level of spice was on the high end specially for kids, bit you can order non-spicy food. The restaurant is well taken care of overall.

This is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The lamb natchos was good and the enchiladas was Awesome!!! I recommend ordering it spicy 🌶 I’m definitely going back again.

Some of the best Mexican food I've had in Europe. The pork (conchita pibil) taco is perfect, salsas are complex and full of flavor, and the staff is friendly. One star missing because the beef and chicken tacos are nowhere near as good as the pork, suffering from an imbalance in salt/acid.

We really wanted to like this place and I even hesitate to write anything because we were visiting from Arizona and Mexican food is a staple here. That being sad the staff was amazing and very friendly, our drinks were good and the chips with salsa were spot on. But then the main courses came out and they just didn't taste authentic, we both ordered a chimichanga one with beef and the other with chicken and both were seasoned with very odd flavors. Suffered extreme heart burn and acid reflux from the meat. So go for drinks and snacks and Mayne the tacos?

Returning customers, over the last 5 years with 3 different visits, the food and service has been fantastic with no change. The portion sizes are perfect for the price. We always ensure we have a reservation here when we have our holidays in Edinburgh.

Excellent service, excellent food (really, one of the best burritos I've ever eaten), overall a really good experience. I must admit I was initially sceptical due to location (since restaurants in busy tourist areas will often be a rip-off) but happy to say this is not the case here, really good value for money and they really go the extra mile here, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing food, very authentic and it was the bext Mexican I,ve had outside of Mexico. Great tasting margaritas as well. What made me love it so was the man who I believe was the owner or manager. He was lovely, so welcoming, and made it feel like he had invited you over for dinner at his house. And it's a very short walk from the Edinburgh castle.

Wonderful Mexican restaurant with incredible food. Amazing food, I have to say it's the best Mexican food I've had in Edinburgh so far. It's quite authentic and I really like the fact they make tacos with corn tortillas, which is not always the case in Europe. Their guacamole is decent and nachos are delicious! My friend and I had lunch at this restaurant three days ago and it was one of the best luncheon we've had in a travel. The place is nice and warm, the ambiance is truly Mexican. In addition, the staff are all friendly and attentive. To top it off, the food was great and lovely! My friend was stuck choosinh between two starters because he wants chicken on his quesadilla and when the waiter overheard it, he made it sure that my friend would have his chicken breasts included in his quesadilla . The Chimichanga was absolutely packed with meat and was divine. Every bite was fulfilling. They also wait for the customers to finish a course before serving the next one. So they serve dishes in a timely manner. Overall, I would recommend this Mexican restaurant to anyone. I just hope they have a franchise here in London. Haha! Ill surely eat again here if ever I get the chance to get back to Edinburgh.

If you want great mexican food then you won't be disappointed when you visit here . The Mariachi Restaurant is half way down victoria street. Decor and atmosphere was really good and the music was spot on . Waiters were friendly and polite , they were there if you needed anything but weren't in your face like some . As for the food what can I say , It was brilliant . I got the Steak Fajitas with guacomole, salsa , dour cream and grated mexican cheese and it was mmm mmm my wife got ×3 shredded pork Fajitas with shredded, cabbage, cheese, guacamole and salsa . My kids got the chicken and cheese Quesadillas with Mussels cooked in spicy sauce and all portions were good with everyone of them tasting lovely . Cant complain one bit . I have been to a few mexican restaurants but this one has to be in my top 3 for all time best . Moving from Chicago and living in Inverness for 2 years I have missed Mexican food. This place filled a piece of my food heart that has been missing. For being in Scotland this Mexican food was DE-lightful! I would go back in a heart beat. Food/Drink Nachos with Chicken - amazing. They layered the nachos so every bite had cheese, salsa, etc. Fajitas - Steak - I couldn't stop eating them. The steak was a great flavour and the sautéed peppers and onions added great taste. Refried Beans - Chunkier than I am use to, but had a great taste. Mexican Rice - Went well with the refried beans. Good taste. Margarita - Great taste for a 'rita. Not too anything. Nice and smooth. Atmosphere Great feeling inside. Colourful, good lighting, cosy, but not sitting on top of each other. Service When we were first got there it was great. They must have been on a shift change for the evening towards the end as we got neglected a wee bit and it was hard to anyone's attention to get a last margarita. Overall Yes to it all. Very good.

What can I say? Mariachi is my favourite restaurant in the UK. I was just about to get my car and head home to Durham when I found this little gem. My teenage son and I decided to eat before our journey. So glad we did! Warm homemade tortilla chips and salsa for starters came and we swiftly ordered more because they were so delicious. I had the chicken tacos which were the best tacos I’ve tasted in the UK. My son had the king prawn fajitas which he devoured. He’s normally a fussy eater but he ate every scrap. I can’t wait to go back. Next time I won’t be driving so I’ll be destroying the margarita menu! 5 stars from my son and I.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Had been eyeing this place up for a few days and managed to fit it in on our last day in Edinburgh. Arrived just before 4pm and were informed of their lunch menu. 3 courses for £12.50 before 4! Ordered immediatley! And oh my it was good. I had the nachos which were splendid, the shredded pork chimichanga which was AMAZING, and churros which were very fresh and warm. Was so full by the end of it. Cocktails were also amazing. Service was quick and very friendly. Feels very authentic and I can't wait to go back next time I'm in the city.

I lived in Edinburgh for a year and I think I went to Mariachi about 30 times during that time, and ordered home about 10 other. It was my absolute favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. (And all this during when half the time I spent in Edi was during the peak of the pandemic, so trust me when I say I went to Mariachi a lot). The food is absolutely amazing (I recommend the Enchiladas, both Pollo and Pork, and definitely the Nachos), and the frozen Margaritas are just out of this world (they are partly responsible for pushing me through the last weeks of my master thesis, for sure). The staff is absolutely amazing, always helpful with recommendations and super nice. The environment is lovely, and overall I just felt great. I miss it immensely, and I can't wait to be back in Edinburgh to be back in Mariachi!

Really great. They had a good deal on when we went for 2 courses for £10 I think at lunch time. The service was brilliant, really relaxed and they made us feel so welcome. They let us share a starter, have a main each and share a pudding which isn't always the case when you done out on a deal - I know of a few places that are super strict and will not let you share but these guys were great. The food was amazing, we were so full! No complaints at all.

This place looks small from the front but has plenty of space in the back, and we didn't have trouble getting a seat for dinner at the peak of the festival. Food arrived very quickly and was nice if unremarkable. Unfortunately, there was also a gratuity automatically added to the bill at the end - I don't know if this is something they do year round or just in August, but this should always be optional!
