When it comes to the restaurant itself, the atmosphere is very charming and the atmosphere charmed us, it is very nice to have such small fires outside and there are great mini fires inside where the fire normally burns very nice a lot of people very nice staff, food i counted on something another (reading people's descriptions) but it was tasty .

Yesterday was our first visit and, boy, all those good write-ups were spot on. We absolutely loved it. We had been meaning to go for a while and then Covid hit and we were housebound like everyone else in Edinburgh. The staff were splendid. Friendly and professional and if that wasn't enough they admired my coasters (I am a nutter but I carry them everywhere because I hate a messy wet table). Our waitress gave advice on the menu. We sat on the outside terrace and everything was clean and we felt safe. The food was wonderful. The soup de jour was broccoli and was delicious, served with nice crusty wholemeal bread for sopping up all the remaining good bits. Our mains arrived beautifully presented and hot. The hubs had a steak pie which was HUGE (he finished it to the bottom and I think he was regretting that he didn't save some of that yummy bread from the soup starter for mop up) and my vegetarian burger was exactly as I asked for it...without this and that due to my food allergies. We were full to bursting, otherwise we would have had dessert. The sticky date pudding looked amazing. So did the cocktails. It is dog-friendly so we will be coming back with the hound. The bus stop is almost in front of the door which makes getting there a breeze. Thank you everyone at McLarens for a wonderful afternoon.

Found this on my last day in Edinburgh and if I had found it earlier I would have eaten there a few more times. Lovely upscale but friendly and comfortable cafe. Fish & Chips were some of the best I had. Amazing cocktails and solid beer choices too. Don’t miss it.

Fantastic! Staff so friendly and helpful. Managed to find us a table inside on a busy Saturday. Beautiful plush decor inside, with ample space between table settings. Waiting staff were busy but happy and attentive. We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing evening, with beautifully presented food and very attentive staff. They really couldn't have made our evening better. We arrived early so had drinks beforehand in a very comfortable beautifully decorated room then we were shown to our table upstairs. Sat here on Saturday evening. Ordered beer and the cheeseburger here. Prices are a bit on the trendy side of the town, but not by very much -- bacon cheeseburger was £14 and their own lager beer was £5. Liquor/cocktail prices are high, especially so because of shrinkage: Liquors are served 25ml and cocktails at 50ml (or so the menu says) which are tiny portions if you ask me. The big issue was that we had to wait 10 mins for a pint of beer from the tap (had to remind), and about 35 minutes for the cheeseburger, and when it eventually arrived, it was a good burger. Fries were very good. The waiter was friendly and apologetic for the delay, which partially made up for the excessive wait. No gratuity forced, a nice change of pace from London. Might return, assuming that this kind of delay is not habitual.

First time here, would highly recommend here. The pods are fantastic. They are intimate, private, cosy and very comfortable. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The choices of cocktails were excellent. I would rate here 10/10. I will definitely be booking again.

Oh my gosh. I've only been here for drinks before, but fancied a Sunday roast today and it ended up being the tastiest Sunday roast I've had in about ten years. Its probably best to book, but we only booked the night before, and service was perfect. Definitely recommend. No photos because we ate it too quickly.

First time visit at Mclarens. A couple of power cuts and as we were sitting next to the coffee machine the acoustics made it a little noisy and didn't add to a relaxing atmosphere. They had no strawberries so couldn't do the smoothie I asked for but the food when it arrived was good. Had been meaning to visit for a while so was slightly disappointed with the whole visit so will not be rushing back.

Had a lovely afternoon in the private dining area celebrating a family birthday, staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more accommodating. We were upstairs, the building has a lift and toilet facilities on this floor so fully accessible and private enough for the entire family. A great addition to the area. Had lunch here recently with a friend, portions were perfect size and with wonderful flavours. Book in the outdoor eating area, we ended up in a ski lift cabin. Has to be seen to be believed... :)

Been there twice. Price wise is a bit on the upside although food taste is avarage, not bad but there's a lot room for improvement thus one star minus. Stylish interior, nice atmosphere, really helpful and kind staff. The other star minus comes from the fact that there is an automatic 10% service charge in the final bill, without costumers being asked or informed first. This practice comes from the US, where costumers are paying service charge because service charge makes staff's wages because it's legal to work for less than the minimum wage, thankfully in the UK that's not how it works, and while I always tip 10% to 15% of the final bill, I really don't like that fact that tipping is not left at my discretion. (Asking staff to remove the service charge is really awkward, isn't?).

My partner took me here for our date night. He did an amazing job! The only request I had was that there were vegetable dishes and/or healthy options on the menu since we came from the highlands and eating Inn/Pub food. There aren't many vegetables or lighter foods to choose from at Pubs normally, LOL. Granted, he would say that lettuce and pickles count on cheeseburger :D. I digress. If you are looking for a date night restaurant that is clean, service is great & friendly, that has an array of food choices...you should visit McLarens. I had the Salmon plate with the sticky toffee pudding for dessert & my partner had the Fried Chicken burger with Creme Brulee for dessert. It was lovely & tasty. Thank you for such a nice dining experience <3 , McLarens. And for such a lovely first date, KM. <3

Had a wonderful lunch with a friend yesterday at Maclarens On the Corner. For a freezing blustery day, the host led us to a lovely cozy booth on the ground floor, she checked that to see if we've been before. She mentioned that she'd go check to make sure the pie of the day was ready for us to order incase we were planning to. I was very impressed by that. The waitress came to us couple times to take drinks order and the food order, she was friendly and professional. The French onion soup I ordered was flavourful and the pie of day was delicious, looked and tasted like it was made on the premises. My friend and I throughly enjoyed our lunch and and there will be more lunches at Maclaren to come.

I have been to McLarens on a couple of occasions now and have found it very enjoyable indeed. The first time we went it was for brunch with kids in our party. For an establishment that I had always assumed was designed for the young and single middle class, we were surprised to find a well rounded kids menu. Everything that we had was great, the staff very accommodating and friendly and the location ideal. Situated in the heart of Holy Corner where Bruntsfield and Morningside meet, you couldn't ask for a better spot. I have been remiss in awarding five stars, but the only reason is that I have yet to experience a dinner service. The second time was just for afternoon drinks, which were equally as enjoyable. Reasonably priced and with a wide selection of drinks on offer. Looking forward to sampling their dinner fare in future.

Service was perfect - attentive but nor obtrusive. Food was as you would expect from a busy pub - nothing spectacular but tasty. Great atmosphere and great service from the team. We had a gondola - which was different to say the least, but great fun. All 5 Star so far :) The menu knocked it back to 4 Star overall for us - it was just a little restricted and a bit too 'snacky'. A few substantial main courses and deserts would have helped. Sadly not as inspiring as I had hoped. Lots of hype when this place was being built/renovated but quite honestly they still seem to be finding their feet. We were told that there were no tables but that we could sit at the bar stools near to the bar, and order for at the bar. However when we attempted this the barman told us that he could not take food orders so we would need a waitress. Then after waiting for the waitress she then pointed is to a table which all seemed rather disorganised. Once we had ordered it was all very nice but it felt rather ordinary. We will no doubt try again soon but until then I can't recommend it when there are so many other great options

Brilliant, I was out in a group of four when we decided to give McLarens on the Corner a try. We hadn't booked but, at the time we enquired (about 1630) a table inside was available. There are other tables.outaide.most of which are covered by parasols, but not all. There are some cute little cable cars also to sit in around the front entrance. We were received by Lauren at reception who was superb! A very clear brief on what was available, the type of chair (bar stool type seating), for how long we could stay, where facilities were, the specials on the menu and more. Overall she was very efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant and kind an excellent advert for the place. I thought at that moment if Lauren is what McLarens on the Corner is about then it'll be a good visit. No surprise then that I can give five stars, all members of staff were as good as Lauren. The menu was available by QR download and we all had a delicious meal. I chose the Salmon with salad and BBQ potatoes, not sure the potatoes are something I'd rush back to try but they were ok and the rest of the course was sublime. Sticky toffee pudding with vanilla sauce, ice cream and a caramel hot sauce on the side followed. All really good and most enjoyable. Would I go there again? Yes, the food was tasty and filling but the staff really made the place. Lovely people in a lovely place, well done McLarens on the Corner!👍

Booked several days in advance for an outside table arrived to be given the table with broken heaters. Despite almost all other tables being empty. No apology at the time nor notification thatv this would be the case. Poor customer service. We left with disappointed children. The response from the manage has been good. So this is reflected in the upgraded rating. From previous experience is a good new restaurant that has tried extremely hard since launching at the beginning of the pandemic. The location and food have always been very good. The service on the day though has generally been poor but hopefully that will improve with further time and training.

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago with a friend. It was the first time I had been out for food since the easing of lockdown. The venue was very clean and the rules for social distancing etc were explained on arrival. The food was amazing, service was outstanding and the staff also made a massive fuss of my 5 month old spaniel pup too much to his delight so I'm sure we will be back very soon!!

It was okay. The food was tasty but food of equal quality could be obtained for quite literally half this price at a myriad of places across Edinburgh. The drinks selection was a plus, going above the norm, however spoilt by drowning in too much mixer, plus a whole round of drinks "went missing" for over half an hour and they were no longer able to serve them to us since this put us past the covid curfew. I wouldn't bother going again.

Went for lunch having booked a week earlier. First impression superb, nice decor quirky seating. But we were shown to a table at the rear of the restaurant an area that was stark and soulless. We asked to be moved and were shown to a comfortable booth at the front. Others were empty as well so I don’t know why we were sent to Siberia on arrival. Reasonable service, very limited menu. We both had fish & chips which were Ok. Won’t be rushing back.

I went to McLarens on the Corner for a meal at 16:00 on 23/08/20. The restaurant are taking the Coronavirus extremely seriously and the staff are all wearing masks, customers get their temperature checked before they are seated, and at every table there is a small bottle of Lavender and Thyme anti-bacterial hand spray; very nice! The food was excellent and the fish and chips I ordered was absolutely outstanding! The service was great and the staff super! I cycled to the restaurant and I didn't notice anywhere to park my bike at the restaurant but the Tesco Metro next door had Bike Parking so that was great. Another good thing is that even outdoors, smoking at the restaurant is not permitted, so those wishing to sit outside are not penalised by other people's dirty habits. The restaurant is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The menus are all online so if you find the menu prices quite high, go on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday where you get 50% off up to a maximum of £10 per person (eat out to help out). In summary, this restaurant is taking Covid19 very seriously, they serve good food and the staff are fabulous.

The service was exceptional - all the staff are so attentive, fun and knowledgeable. The Reservation Manager Nicola could not have been more welcoming - and simply made our evening wonderful. The food is amazing (the best macaroni and cheese this side of Edinburgh) with lots to choose from. The drinks are well priced and the Devore is stunning. Lovely touches throughout including toiletries in the ladies room - who doesn’t need a schoosh of hairspray on a night out 🤣 Just what Bruntsfield had been crying out for a day I can’t wait to return.
