A fantastic meal on Saturday, huge portions and excellent service. For two people three items each is ample , we were advised the sharing plate for two would be too much! The chicken skewers were amazing and my friend loved the calamari, definitely be back.

Dishes were more than ample and tasted absolutely magnificent. Food was piping hot and drinks were reasonably priced too. We had 10 dishes between 2 of us but to be fair, 8 would have been suffice. Don't worry if you can't finish as the owners will pack whatever is left for you to take home in a takeaway box. 5star food a d 5 star service. Will definitely be back next time I am in Edinburgh. Be sure to book though as we had to take a later than usual time slot due to the popularity of this restaurant.

A gem of a place, authentic delicious Turkish food, large portions and at a great price, we couldn't fault anything brought out to our table. This is a small restaurant with seating upstairs and a couple of tables downstairs, the toilets are downstairs as well. Food and drink were average priced in line with other establishments in the area. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. A must-try, if you like Turkish food.

Had a feast, amazing meze dishes and i was a little surprised by some of the portions that were bigger than expected (not complaining at all!). Always wanted to try this place but it was always full, and now I understand why. Quality dishes right there. Great service as well. Place is small and popular so you might have to wait, but otherwise, a must go to in Rose Street!

I had such a nice time there with my friends, the best idea is to get a bunch of different plates and to share everything like it's meant to be. The food here is so good I wanted to walk straight out the door when I was done so I could walk back in and eat everything again! Perfectly cooked and so much flavour! I had the chicken skewers with beautiful sautéed aubergine and other delicious vegetables and the potato bravas (pictured - I ate the chicken before I could take a photo)! Also a great option for Coeliac/gluten free! You won’t be disappointed! Also the owner remembered me from popping my head in at lunch which speaks volumes for them paying attention to their customers, great, personal & warm service.

I really like it. Few tables. Great food. Good service. I started with hummus and Naan bread, and then chicken, lamb and a vegan option, all served with rice and a side of salad. Additionally, they have a decent option of wines. Anyway, It doesn't matter what you order the taste is great and your table will be packed of great dishes 😀

We were pleasantly surprised!! We felt they were understaffed but food was served in good time. We opted for mezze where you can select any 3 item and we opted for chicken skewer, sujuk and Philo cheese pastry. We were very impressed!well flavoured the pastry was crispy and light.

Amazing meal. Great portions. Friendly service. Lovely environment. We loved everything about our meal. They cater for gluten free too, which was why we originally picked it. So glad we did. Gluten free dishes clearly marked on the menu and gluten free bread provided as well. We were lucky and got a table without booking, but I'd recommend you do as their were people being turned away quite early. If you love Southern Mediterranean cuisine then this is a must in Edinburgh.

Meze are tasty and good value. Staff really friendly. We turned up without reservation and were able to be accommodated proptly. Only thing I miss is some more yogurt based meze, having been to Turkey they are really present in Turkish cuisine.

Just make sure you are hungry when you visit the bijou Meze Meze! We had our last night meal here and loved the food which is served in enormous and delicious portions! A really nice atmosphere with a welcoming owner, it’s a must for hungry lovers of Middle Eastern and Turkish food! Yum Yum!

A very nice Mediterranean restaurant with a wide selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Particularly enjoyed the red sauce they used for their mixed vegetables dish. Possible to eat a filling meal for about £15, the quantity of portions served was quite large. Overall would definitely recommend visiting!

Loved the food. Their Kofte and Soupa was delicious. Though it seems they are overdoing their dishes by adding way too many foods like a small salad on the same plate as the Kofte, with grapes and chili peppers, to try to make the dishes look fancy. It's just too much. But the food tastes amazing.

Fantastic little restaurant in Rose Street Edinburgh, you would walk by it probably a tiny doorway which leads into Meze heaven. We had the luncheon menu, you choose 3 each for £12:50p. The restaurant has a casual relaxed feel. We shall be back 5*

The Meze Meze sharer deal for £17.95pp (5 hot dishes, 5 cold, chef's selection) was great and very filling! Consisted of houmous, tzatziki, tabouleh, baba ganoush, hot pitta, spicy sausage, dolmades, roast vegetables, cheese straws, calamari and falafel. Very good value for money and quaint, attentive staff and great service.

We didn't have a booking but it was quite early and were given a table and weren't hurried. It's small though over 2 floors, cheerful and cosy when it was pouring with rain outside. We chose mezze and enjoyed it all. They suggest 3 or 4 plates per person and we agreed that 3 each would have been sufficient but we managed. Having a smaller number reduces the price too which other reviews have commented on. However the food is quite labour intensive to prepare and the restaurant is just off the main street in a capital city so we didn't think it was too expensive.

This place is an experience. The moment you walk the decor and the atmosphere is so settling, it's just the right size so that even in peak times it would still be so relaxing. I had walked past this place a few times and always wanted to dip in. My mother is currently visiting so we decided to drop in and, wow, was I pleasently surprised. A great menu with loads of range, with me being vegan I was very happy with how accommodating the menu was and the food was top notch delicious. But even before we tasted it, my mum commented firstly on how beautiful it was presented, absolutely true, the beautiful arrangement of colours and textures perfectly accompanied by a range of tastes, and we were both happy with the price too. I never seem to usually get in on 'Hidden Gems' but Meze Meze seems to really be the definition, and of course, the staff were welcoming and lovely and had a great cheery manner about them. I hope to return very soon. This is a must visit location.

Visited here on a whim because we were struggling to find somewhere to eat on a Friday night. I feel like we got very lucky - don't be put off by the simple interior. Food was excellent, I’m n Edinburgh for five weeks working and I would of used this place frequently however I was in work clothes so did not feel welcome had to call for attention to get served while it appeared everyone else was getting A1 service was sat next to a couple who spent £60 between them who were offered free snacks with meal and a voucher for more free food if they came again while I was offered only my bill my guess is they won’t be back whereas I would of been if I was made welcome hey ho back to cafe who ovine workmen

The food here is delicious! I had read some of the reviews talking about the food being too oily or just reheated, but I've had a great experience here! The waiter was very friendly and helpful, the establishment is very clean, and all the food we have had was super yummy!! As a bonus, the coffee here is v good... I cannot stress enough how many "good food" places in Edinburgh have absolutely rubbish coffee, which kind of ruins the lunch experience for you(I'm sure coffee fans will understand this) Highly recommend!!

It’s a mediocre place in terms of quality of food. I had a beef steak there a few days ago. It wasn’t very tasty. Their baklava was good, though. The number of choices from Turkish cuisine is also very limited to call this place a Turkish restaurant.

A very small Turkish Restaurant in Rose Street, Edinburgh. Friendly welcome, but no atmosphere. Food purchased was simple fare, but with the regional, twist was quite nice. Not well frequented at the time of our visit. Maybe a bit of an acquired taste.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, super-friendly staff. A full meal for £18 with a seemingly endless stream of hold and cold Meze dishes. All freshly prepared and absolutely superb. The calimari and the fresh bread were especially good. Highly recommended for a casual, convivial evening - ideal for a large group.

Eyes bigger than our bellies but great food and service. Our table was still occupied when we arrived and the staff offered to come let us know when it was free if we went for a drink in the bar opposite. We were back in the restaurant before we could get served for a drink. The food is fantastic, the meze feast was exactly what we were after, and far too much more than we could eat but the ability to taken our leftovers home means we haven't wasted a penny. Stumbled on this place looking for a quick lunch and ended up getting 10 little dishes from their express lunch menu. Each dish was fantastic and well worth the £10.95 asking price. For those who wouldn't normally be interested in Mediterranean food, I'd recommend this as and starting point. Excellent for veggies.

I can't imagine why anyone would give this restaurant anything but five stars! We dropped in on the off chance on our last night in Edinburgh and were we in for a treat? Intimate atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff who spoke and understood English perfectly well and a meze menu to tempt any discernible palette. We chose are own dishes, knowing how filling a set menu can be and we were not disappointed. Every dish was a taste sensation and everyone else we spoke to in the restaurant felt the same. Pricey? Give over - we paid what we would expect for such an excellent meal and such good service.

Rounded it off with Turkish apple tea and coffee plus a serving of Baklava. Pure greed but we did not want this experience to end. It was busy to the extent that he was turning people away. Stumbled upon this superb Mediterranean restaurant, at the Haymarket end of Rose Street in Edinburgh. It is absolutely gorgeous and the food is out if this world. The waiter made a very bold claim about their calamari being: "the best in Edinburgh', whilst I can't verify that, I can say it is amongst the best I've had. For me, the other stand out dish was the baba ganoush although my friends were raving about the tenderness of the chicken skewers. Plenty of options for vegetarians even if you are using the sharing menu. The only downside is the fact that the portions (when sharing) can be a little too generous so there tends to be a bit of waste. Second time I have been and I would recommend.

We went to Meze Meze on a Saturday night for my wife's birthday. It was fully booked, as numerous people were getting turned away who had not booked. Despite this the service was quick. We ordered the Meze Meze Feast. This is a selection of 5 cold Meze, 5 hot Meze, a large dish of lamb and a large dish of chicken, some warm pitta and a salad. All own which are chosen by the chef. The cold Meze's were all delivered to us within 5 minutes and the hot Meze's not long behind. Then after about 20mins the lamb & chicken. The feast is £25 per person. We had a bottle of red wine to go with it. Definitely a place to recommend in the middle of Edinburgh with excellent food and at reasonable prices. We'll definitely be going back.

We left with happy bellys! Considering they had some issues with electrics in the kitchen they provided excellent food and service.
