A great example of a place that looks crazy expensive, but isn't: this restaurant has amazing food at very reasonable prices. Both their Thai and their Indian dishes are impeccable. The service is incredibly friendly and helpful. We were a bit early (they hadn't exactly finished opening up yet) but we could wait inside and look at the menu. Had a lovely talk as well. Great place, would recommend!

Absolutely exceptional food. Fresh, so flavourful, wonderful textures. This is an outstanding restaurant. Some of the best Indian food I have ever had - perhaps even the best. Even the rice is amazing! What a treat. Can't go anywhere else now for Indian food - will need to come down to Leith! Ambiance (interior, music) also fantastic. Can't recommend highly enough!

The staff were exceedingly friendly, food was delicious, and undoubtedly a memorable meal out. The servers went out of their way to make sure we were happy and complimented us with an extra starter and tea after our excellent meal. Next time I am in Edinburgh, I will be back!

Our favourite place to eat in Leith. The managers do a fantastic job of creating a local, community feel to the restaurant while maintaining incredibly high standards in terms of food, atmosphere and service. We always leave feeling like we have dined at a friend’s house!

Amazing takeaway, ordered from both the Thai and the Indian menus and everything was fantastic! We were also given some complimentary pakora which was fab. Would defo recommend and will be back.

We literally wandered in this place looking at the Indian food options. We ordered Tomyum soup, samosas and vegetable Biryani - everything was made fresh and tasty. The service was great, all our questions were answered well and they went out of their way to accommodate extra portion size and gave us a pleasant surprise with lip smacking Pakodas on the house. What more can you ask for while getting your home cuisine away from home!

DELICIOUS! We are two locals with a visiting friend who loves a curry; we chose here for his last night. Mildly concerned on walking in to a near empty restaurant and a crumpled wine list but we needn’t have been. The ambience was lovely, the staff were kind, informed and attentive. And the. food. was. UN.REAL! My partner had a tandoori grill chicken dish - crispy charcoal chicken skin and soft, succulent meat underneath. Friend had one of the best curries (hot madras) he’s ever eaten. I had a delicious slow cooked lamb cooked with spinach & garlic. Falling apart with tastiness. We all have different heat tolerances + tastes but all agree our 3 quite different meals were just delicious. The staff were incredibly attentive throughout and very accommodating. The food is all cooked fresh and we were encouraged to say our preferences so it could be cooked to our tastes. The wine was lovely. And a bottle of wine + couple of softs, many poppadoms, three delicious mains, 2 naans, 2 rice and a delicious Bombay aloo, and a wonderful evening had by all, the bill was still under £100. Reviewers complaining about pricing clearly not used to costs of eating out in Edinburgh. After stuffing ourselves silly we were even given complimentary green tea to aid digestion! Will definitely be back. Excited to try the Thai half of the menu. Stunned there isn’t a wait list for this place. 7/5 restaurant.

Not just your average Indian restaurant I haven't tried the Thai food but the Indian is exceptionally good- I had Seabass Jall Tenga last night and it was amazing prices in the restaurant slightly more expensive than the online menu but worth it- nice atmosphere and lovely staff

We went for an early dinner on a Monday here and were the first ones in. We were a bit worried to start because it was so quiet. However the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered mainly Thai food with one Indian main. All the food tastes delicious and was cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend.

Very much enjoyed the food here and we will be back. The Thai duck starter was amazing, I can't put into words how much I enjoyed this. I had Indian and my husband had Thai. Both were cooked authentically and tasted amazing. It seems like an odd fusion but the chef had clearly perfected both cuisine. We will be back.

Went to Mintleaf for dinner last night and we were blown away by the quality of the food - absolutely incredible flavours! Quality Indian food with fun decor. The service was both extremely helpful and very friendly. We had such a nice welcome into the restaurant and the waiter took time to have a chat with us and asked polite, light questions without been intrusive! The food is cooked fresh and we were told it may take 20-30 mins, but this gap was filled with a starter and some wine! The food was delicious when it arrived. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also fabulous.

I've been here 10 plus times now and had 10 plus excellent meals. The decor is really different for an Indian restaurant, moody and dark but it's really smart, works really well and makes you forget where you are. The staff are always very friendly and attentive too. We usually skip starters and just have some poppadoms to tide us over until the main course. The pickle tray that comes with the poppadoms is always fresh and delicious. The spiced onions are fresh and tasty without being harsh and raw like some restaurants offer. The chili sauce is also a treat, spicy and flavoursome without being too hot and it's certainly not sweet. The main courses are always freshly prepared and bursting with flavour from the spices and sauces. The lamb is tender, meaty and succulent. This is definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in Edinburgh now. I haven't tried the Thai dishes but I'm sure they're equally as good. I can't wait to go back again!

I have been there for the first time tonight . The atmosphere was quite cosy and warm. The landlady was really friendly and so helpful to make the right choice on the menu, she came over to explain what I could eat and looked very carefully after my intolerances. Was a great night with excellent food and service. I must say thank you to her and to Melissa, the waitress, that was so attentive and professional for this unique experience.

Amazing thai food. One of the best thai restaurant in Edinburgh. The pad thai and green curry is tasty. The service was excellent and friendly. They took intolerance to food very seriously and they ammended dishes accordingly. The staff knew their ingredients in each dish. Which is hard to find in many places. Normally waiting staff have to ask the chef. Honestly great dining experience. Would 100% eat here again. The atmosphere is good too.

In short: Good flavours, very tender meat, warm, friendly and welcoming staff. In long: This place was empty so was a little concerned when walking past. Checked it out on here and past reviews were mixed but mainly good so continued in. The two chaps on duty were welcoming, and didn't seem dispirited by the lack of custom. They made us feel very welcome indeed. They brought additional dips (mango chutney) when asked as we ran out with our popadums, (could have perhaps had more in the first place). I went for the mehti gust (lamb with fenugreek), the lamb was perfectly tender, the sauce rich in aromatic flavours. Onion bahjis were provided on the house too; it felt like there wasn't enough they could offer to ensure our evening was enjoyable, even though it was memorable for us being the only people in all evening.
