M. S.Delightful location with a very mellow mood. Lovely staff patiently took the complicated order, due to dietary issues.
Food was great, coffee too, easy to finish what was on my plate. The tunes were the icing on the cake!!

Their counter showing all of their lunch produce almost made me want to get a takeaway for later!! 4/5 because the coffee could have been better, but nice nevertheless. Would recommend this place to anyone! Staff were lovely too :)

My wife had the smashed avocado on toast with smoked salmon, and I had the soup of the day with a Moroccan Chicken sandwich (a combo deal they offer)
It all tasted delicious and fresh, and we came away feeling rather full!
The location itself is great, right near the Grassmarket Square and the cafe is bright and clean. The staff were also friendly, greeting us with a smile.

K. M.Lebanese-French café in the charming Grassmarket. Went for brunch and discovered the amazing taste of the exotic and nutritious Persian Shakshuka served in the traditional cast-iron pan surrounded by toasted bread. It was early on Sunday morning and the sauce was just being made, it tasted of exotic and sunny places, so unusual in a gloomy Edinburgh morning. The vegetarian egg muffin was also fresh and energising. Then we were tempted by the beautiful Red Velvet Cake, it was OK. I would not go back for the cake, but definitively for the shakshuka!

C.Nice food. Nice options for dairy free and vegan. Soup is watery if that is what you like you'll be happy. The staff are lovely and its very peaceful. A minus is that it does not have any toilet facilities.

M. A.I'll start with the positives; the hand made foccacia is every bit as good as promised; warm, soft and light. The Bacon was thick and good quality and the food did come very fast, but that's where the positives end.
The service felt lost, we were ignored by one member of staff, only for the gent who served us to cut our order off before we'd finished and direct us to a table, leaving us confused as to whether he'd come over to take a drinks order or if we'd have to return to the till (we returned to the till).
The customer service was lacking all round, one customer who ordered takeaway coffee when we were in was offered sugar (one packet at a time) but had to reach over and take his own spoon as none was offered.
It just felt like there was no direction and not very welcoming at all.
D. M.We where staying at the Apex hotel just 3 door down from this great cafe. Don't pay for breakfast at the hotel! Go here..... The food is great and all freshly baked and made. From, fantastic healthy stuff, too good old cakes and cookies.

L.really good spot for travellers on a budget! Its a one min walk from the kickass hostel. They have a $3.95 morning roll and coffee deal which is great, staff were lovely. $5 min. for card so I got a takeaway sandwich for lunch, it was all delicious

Overall the food was very nice and person handling it even left a note apologising for running out of a specific ingredient but substituting it with an alternative. It was a nice touch and made me want to leave a review. :)

A huge no-go nowadays: they serve ANYTHING in disposable packaging, even if you sit a their table. That's completely unnecessary and a total waste of ressources!

Well it's all good: the espresso was very strong, just as I like it and I had a mind-blowing muffin that really cheered me up after a long day of walking and discovering the wonderful city of Edinburgh.
The venue itself is very bright and the staff was friendly: a place to try!

N. S.(Translated) We got to try the avocado and salmon toast here. The taste was delicious! Friendly and helpful employee. I had initially chosen a vegetarian Scottish breakfast and later decided against it, as it was prepared on the same grill as meat. Recently that everything was ready, the employee did not bother at all and adjusted my order immediately. Incidentally, also drank delicious hot coffee! I would definitely go back here for the delicious sandwiches.

Wij hebben hier de avocado en zalm toast mogen uitproberen. De smaak was verukkelijk! Vriendelijke en behulpzame medewerker. Ik had in de eerste instantie vegetarische Scottish breakfast gekozen en later afgezien, omdat het op dezelfde grill als vlees werd bereid. Onlangs dat alles klaar was, heeft de medewerker helemaal niet moelijk gedaan en paste mijn bestelling meteen aan. Overigens ook heerlijke warme koffie gedronken! Ik zou hier zeker terug willen voor de heerlijke broodjes.
