Seeds for the Soul is definitely one of the best in Edinburgh specialised in vegan dishes. We had a bowl and a wrap which were thoughtful in the combinations of ingredients, great in taste and generous in portions. Also love the smoothies “good morning coffee lover” with espresso, cacao, banana and almond milk, a killer mix! And remember to leave some room for the cakes here which would be sad to miss.

I had the vegan Mac and cheese and can I just say this was one of the best Mac and cheeses I’ve ever had? I’m not even vegan! It’s sooooo tasty and their coffees are so good!! I had vegan Mac and cheese from another place in Edinburgh and this one really tops that other one. Will be back when I’m craving Mac and cheese again. My friend also said her burger was really good and that the vegan patty was really tasty but I didn’t taste it.

Excellent vegan dishes, I would definitely recommend the Satay and Asian bowls. The Satay peanut sauce was excellent. Good coffee. A little pricey, but this is probably due to the location, sit by the window and you may enjoy watching the trendy Bruntsfield crowd, if you care about these things…

Have been here twice during my stay in Edinburgh. The interior design is very simple and cozy; the staff is very friendly and polite; the food is absolutely amazing. They have some delicious prawns and calamari rings as starters. The Asian bowl and the rainbow wrap are also chef kiss. They also do a nice selection of vegan wines and lastly they have a gorgeous range of cakes and other desserts (berry cake was a 10/10).

I love visiting Seeds for the Soul. I had a huge walk through the icy cold Old Town so was ready for a hearty meal by the time I arrived. I ordered the mac n cheeze and asked if I could have chickn strips for some added protein. I was so full I had no room for cake! Sad times as the counter had so many to pick from. Not even vegan myself, but had the most amazing food here. I tried the meat substitutes like the vegan bacon and they were delicious. The potion sizes are filling but not too big, which works great since I’m never that hungry in the morning. Really nice vegan restaurant in a lovely part of Edinburgh. Me and my boyfriend are both vegan and shared a burger and a couple of starters. Loved the burger, very tasty and flavourful. The Mac ‘n Cheese was good too, a very generous portion! I’d be even better with some vegan bacon pieces or something crunchy. The calamari were good, could use a little bit more flavour. I absolutely loved the buffalo cauliflower wings, a delicious crunch and soft on the inside! 🤤 the staff were very friendly and accommodating, overall good vibes! Would definitely come here again to try their breakfast options!

We had a weekend away in Edinburgh for my bfs birthday and this is the place I booked for our evening meal. It was amazing! The food was incredible and the atmosphere and staff were amazing! I had requested that if we ordered cake to add a candle for him which was a nice surprise for him. The staff were so lovely and gave us recommendations for vegan pubs and restaurants in the city. We liked it so much that we came the next day for a boozy smoothie which were equally amazing! Tracked across Edinburgh to get a full English vegan breakfast and wasn’t disappointed at all! I also got a “Good Morning Coffee Lovers” smoothie which was a shot of espresso, banana, peanut butter vanilla, raw cacao & almond milk! A perfect way to start the day! My girlfriend had the Asian Bowl which was one of her favourite meals during our stay in Edinburgh! The 5-spice ‘chicken’ so meaty and the dish was packed with flavour! Tucked away on the side of the street Seeds For The Soul is a cute and cosy restaurant offering a range of breakfast foods and main dishes! They also have a range of freshly baked good on offer but I was too stuffed to have any! I’d definitely recommend coming here if you get chance!

My friends and I had a lovely meal here the other night! The food was all beautifully presented and delicious. The menu had clear allergen information and plenty of gluten free options as well which is a big plus. Cute place. There are no raw vegan options available on the menu. The sitting area is tiny and crowded with the seats (just because of the general architectural layout) despite that there were not that many customers at the time. Plus, not to the business's fault, but there were two giant dogs in the back, it just made it extremely awkward to use the toilet. Aside from all that, the staff members were extremely kind, and there is the option of outside seating... which is okay, depending on the time of day and the weather.

Seeds for the Soul must be run by witches and wizards because it is the most INCREDIBLE restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, COVID safe (and I cannot stress this enough) the food is GENUINELY UTTERLY DIVINE. Burgers to die for, yummy noodles and the cakes were AMAZING. This place deserves all the recognition in the world, an amazing hidden gem cannot recommend enough. We've been vegan for a while and can honestly say this place does plant based-food justice! Please make more and set up around the UK - would consider the 7 hours drive again just for a burger and slice of biscoff cheesecake. THANK YOU!

Went for weekend lunch and was really impressed with the food and service. Don’t be fooled by the fact that the food on offer isn’t technically groundbreaking - it’s all made so well and every element to each dish is well thought out and delicious (we had the Middle Eastern bowl, the satay bowl, the gyoza and the smoky fries). The carrot cake was also 10/10 - perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. The vibe of the place itself is lovely and cosy, the sort of place you could spend hours in.

This cute wee cafe in Bruntsfield was a great find. Their menu is entirely vegan which was great, even for those not used to a plant-based diet. It was clearly very popular and I would recommend making a reservation before you go. I had the sweet pancakes and a berry smoothie, both excellent, but the real winner was the vegan cakes in their display- a lemon cheesecake and a blueberry cake which were heavenly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Could not recommended this place enough!

I have stoped counting the times I went to seeds for the soul and brought friends over. I first went there on another friend's idea and was blown away by the quality and the tastiness of the food. The eggs Benny are honestly the best I've ever had, vegan or not. And cherry on top, the staff is absolutely lovely, and they've always taken good care of everyone. Definitely a must do in the city, even if you're not vegan, you won't miss out!

Incredible food, great prices, excellent service. We've been going to seeds for the soul for 2 years now and every single time we have left happy, full and wanting to go back there again. The pancakes are fluffy like clouds and served with fresh fruit and genuine maple syrup. The full breakfast is served with delicious sausages, veg, beans and scrambled tofu that tastes so much like real eggs it's kind of scary (in an amazing way). The falafels in the middle eastern bowl are aromatic and full of flavour. The seitan in the rainbow wrap is very "meaty" and has a lovely smoky flavour which is balanced out with refreshing carrots & cabbage. Their homemade garlic mayo is divine. The savoury vegetable gyoza is perfectly balanced with a tangy soy, vinegar dip and the buffalo cauliflowers are the perfect side for anyone that likes southern food. We've bought the cakes for our special occasions from here and we have never been disappointed. They pay so much attention to details and the cakes are always moist and have the perfect ratio of icing to sponge. The carrot cake, biscoff cheese cake, Oreo cake and the victoria sponge cake are the best cakes we have had anywhere. When looking at reviews about seeds for the soul, pay careful attention to the reviews. You will see that the only negative reviews about this restaurant are written by angry non-vegans who hate vegans. Do not let their anger for vegans stop you from trying this amazing restaurant. Their negative reviews are based on their lack of empathy & compassion for animals rather than the wonderful food served at this establishment. If you are vegan, you are going to love this place and if you are an open minded non-vegan you should definitely give the food a try. If you are an angry meat-eater that hates animals and good hearty food, probably skips this place as you are going to hate how incredibly delicious the food is and how guilty that makes you feel. And you will definitely hate the beautiful & colourful vegan art made by talented artists, which gives voice to the voiceless.

I also had a bagel the other day and it was quite dry and a bit underwhelming. Worth to come for the poutine & the buffalo cauliflower though. Also, I am a vegan & an environmentalist (feel I need to clarify to arm myself), but the homepage is really, really preachy and quite elitist, & would make me not want to visit if I had not tried the food before I read it. I feel you may be excluding people and pushing them away more than inviting them in; the opposite of the service you provide. They have intense flavoured chocolates, outstanding coffee, turmeric and beetroot lattes, and others including a selection of juices and smoothies. They also offer some great food options like toasts, toasties and wraps. Their cakes are fantastic: flavourful, spongy yet rather consistent. They would full anyone who didn't know they were vegan. They are made in the store, so they are very fresh and unique.
