Reviews of The Dome
T. D.
What a beautiful place. Went for dinner on our last night in Edinburgh. The service was first class and the food was excellent. It looked to good to eat as the presentation was first class. A wonderful 2 hours spent in the evening. Rounded off our trip superbly. Would highly recommend a visit. It is reasonably priced. For a treat or special occasion it was worth every penny
A. S.
This is a 5-star restaurant with a diverse menu serving well prepared and presented meals in a jaw dropping ambiance. A special shout-out to Sasha who provided excellent and professional service. The reason for 3-stars and not five is that we arrived on time for our reservation but was told to have a seat in the bar area while I our table was being cleared. We waited for 15 minutes. When we arrived in the Grill Room there were several tables for two that were set and ready to receive diners. It is not cool to lie to customers in order for them to spend money at the bar.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon tea!!! Gorgeous building and decor! It’s very classy, cosy and relaxed in the Georgian Tea Room and the staff are really welcoming, but we were glad we reviewed afternoon tea etiquette on Google before coming. We dressed smart casual and felt comfortable in our choices. Definitely make an effort to dress nicely. Book a time slot before coming. Make sure to come hungry because you will leave absolutely stuffed! The tea and food are all lovely. This was such a wonderful experience! My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed everything and highly recommend it!

We had the festive morning tea back in last December. Seated in the Club Room instead of the Grill Room (i.e. the main hall), still a nice and decent dining space. The tea set was good though I can’t refer anything in it as exceptional. The service was rather outstanding, resembling that performed in classic luxury hotels. I would give it a second try.

That was a great feeling to have lunch in this excellent restaurant. I was worried for the dress code, but the staff were so polite not to make us feel unwelcome. The food was "music", the atmosphere like in a movie. I am glad I dared to go in side in jeans, but next I will make sure to respect the place and wear a proper outfit. You have to go there.

I took my sister to The Dome for afternoon tea and it was amazing, we had a fabulous time. The staff were super kind and helpful. The food was delicious and the Christmas decorations were insane. It is just the most gorgeous building and we truly loved the whole experience from start to finish. We had the champagne afternoon tea and the champagne was just beautiful. Everything was perfect and I would definitely return. Remember to make a booking if you come on a weekend otherwise you won't get in. Great work everyone who works there for making it such a beautiful place to be and enjoy.

Gorgeous place to visit; Especially during Christmas 🎄. It's decorated to perfection.
We had a gorgeous meal from the festive menu. Professional staff who made our meal extra special. Enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended.

What an incredible venue!🤩 Such a pity that their service isn't matching with the look of the place!
Food and beverage was great but we hadn't experienced anything like that in hospitality for long time.
Our waiter was really annoying and unprofessional. He told us "we can't order yet because the kitchen is too busy now", or when I paid by cash he asked me if I want my change back and there could be a lot more to mention.
He should be working in some low class corner pub with his "style" or just in McDonald's.

Walked past here the end of November in the evening. Didn't realise that you had to make a reservation. When I was there it was a 2 month waiting list. They have a fixed price early evening menu. The outdoor and indoor decorations are spectacular. Lots of people were taking photos.

City centre restaurant and bar so prices to match. Beautifully decorated with Christmas lights inside and out giving it a wonderful atmosphere. Booking is essential for the weekend at this festive time of year. Family of four had hot drinks, snacks of bread, olives, scones and cakes costing £35 (see attached receipt) but included a £4 service charge which is basically staff tips. The scones where tiny but light and tasty. Not best value for money but recommended for a great treat.

We had afternoon in The Georgian Tea Room today and I can't fault it in any way. The food was very good, the service was second to none and the setting was outstanding. Our waiter, Paul, was very attentive but not overly so. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he's a credit to The Dome. I highly recommend The Dome for afternoon tea.
D. D.
We went for afternoon tea. It was very interesting experience. Super nice staff. The tea and chief selection of sweets and sandwiches was memorable. I also was very impressed by the interior. You need reservation in advance
S. P.
Absolutely fabulous place, the Christmas decorations are out of this world!!!! I was told it takes 2 weeks to set up. Afternoon tea was delicious, hosts very helpful and friendly. An unforgettable experience.
R. S.
An extraordinary venue with an exceptional food and great service and Team. The ambiance and crowd were perfect. The drinks and the desert were delicious. I would definitely pass by the magical Dome when in town.
T. F.
Booked a table to host a surprise birthday dinner for my husband. Everything was perfect, the ambiance, decor, service, food! I couldn't fault it, he was all smiles and we all enjoyed it.
G. B.
Recommended by a friend. From the moment you enter its is wow. The staff are all friendly and very attentive. Nothing was too much bother. The food exceeded my expectation. Definitely a must when in Edinburgh.
E. W.
A beautiful place to have lunch! The building was full of character! The staff were attentive and friendly! The food was delicious! Could have sat here all afternoon!
S. A.
Lovely building, which actually is the main reason we booked a table. We certainly weren't disappointed with the building/decor and our table was on a slightly higher level with great views of the inside of the Dome.
Whilst it was Valentines weekend (13th Feb) we didn't realise how busy it was going to be.
It looked like it was fully booked but not enough staff to cope with the huge demand.
The bar staff etc. were struggling to keep up with the demand, with 3 or 4 trays of drinks poured but waiting for staff to take them to the customers.
Whilst our food was tasty and well presented, one of of dishes was not cooked properly and also some of it was actually burnt. We did point this out and the waiter removed the cost of that dish from our bill.
I would have been very embarrased if it had been a first date for valentines but as we have been friends since 1978 it was just rather disappointing.
J. Y.
Wonderful ambience, lovely atmosphere. Freshly prepared food, tasty, really lovely. Food was good. Risotto was tasty- didn’t need the melted cheese on top. Loved my hand dived scallop with the Seasoned apples and black pudding. The sticky toffee pudding- I’ve had better - the cake itself was a bit flavorless and dry, but nothing major. I still really liked this restaurant. Loved the fresh microgreens!
A. S.
My wife and I had the vegan afternoon tea. Beautiful building and the food was very nicely presented and tasted lovely. The only complaint is that the tea could have been a lot hotter when it arrived at our table.
K.
Best vegan afternoon tea I've ever had. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing, wonderful scones with clotted cream and we loved the selection of cakes. The Christmas decorations really get you into the festive spirit. I would recommend to anyone.
O. S.
It was a great place. Everything was perfect. Prices were very reasonable for this quality. If I lived in Edinburgh I would come often. The employees were smiling and interested. The interior was fascinating. The architecture and lighting were impeccable. I was very satisfied. Thanks,
H.
Iconic building and landmark in Edinburgh, just siting inside and looking around, I feel happy 😃 ! We had tea thus time, tasty and beautiful, you just have to come and experience this at least once when you are in Edinburgh!
m. F.
What a stunning place . Excellent for cocktails and even food . You can always tell the mark of a place when they have bespoke ice cubes . If I had a pound for everyone that took a photo of the dome I'd be a rich man .its quits something. You can just imagine the hustle when it used to be a trading floor .
F. B.
We went for a few drinks here on the last night of our honeymoon and it was absolutely stunning. The Christmas decorations made it feel incredibly special but I’m sure it is just as beautiful at other times of the year. The service was great and a fab selection of cocktails. Could not recommend enough.
A. K.
An amazing and beautiful place to visit. The staff were very friendly and the way the food was served was a great experience.
It’s a shame that the food itself was very much below par. We went for afternoon tea, and the sandwiches were very basic, I was expecting something a little bit more elegant from a place like this.
A. G.
Very lovely meal at the dome, vegetable samosa, followed by ducks leg, which was very nice!! Special mention to our waitress Amy with the brown hair, she was excellent!!
T. T. G. M.
Loved it! We had a vegan high tea and a normal one. Lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes and scone and lots of tea, served in generous pots. Decadent surroundings. Attentive staff. Exquisite building inside, fit for any celebration. Would highly recommend.
P. B.
If you are visiting Edinburgh then Tea rooms of The Dome are a must visit place. Elegantly decorated. Helpings are good unlike famous Bettey’s of York. Servers are knowledgeable and helpful.
L.
We came to the Dome for afternoon tea. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The servers were all very friendly and polite and the food and tea was wonderful. Would definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion.
Update: we came her for my flatmates birthday and it was stunning and the food was delicious. However, the service was quite slow and they never came back to see if we wanted more drinks or anything else. That part was a bit disappointing.
T. S.
Always great when i eat here. The servers, food, and atmosphere is top of the line.
B. M.
A very lovely, beautiful afternoon tea experience at the Dome with incredible service and ambiance 🥰🍰🫖 can absolutely recommend for everyone who would like to have one in Edinburgh! :)
C. B.
Absolutely delicious lunch. Staff very efficient and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble
D. C.
As Edinburgh newbies, The Dome was recommended many times & did not disappoint. We walked in (a little nervously in trainers and coats as we had been out all day, but luckily it didn’t seem to matter!) and grabbed a drink in the front room, I had a mocktail (dry jan and all) which was wonderful and my boyfriend enjoyed a scotch. The interiors are grand and the service is top quality. Would love to come back for some food and enjoy the space further.
B. M.
We had lunch here, it was great. What a beautiful place! Didn’t get the garden chairs inside though…
I. M.
U can not fault this place. A must to visit for a drink, cocktail or meal. Great staff amazing building. Top class.
L. B. L.
Stunningly decorated for the festive season as always.
Starters (no photos) of chicken liver parfait, haggis /black pudding parcel and vegetable samosa with delicious chutney all perfect. Main courses of Turkey (earliest 'Xmas Dinner!), duck confit, and braised ox cheeks all faultless. Despite being fairly full, puddings had to be had - chocolate and Irish cream trifle went down well, the creme brulee with raspberry and whisky was so delicate (don't worry if you're not a whisky fan, it's just a hint of it) and Xmas pudding was perfect.
The staff are always very welcoming both front of house and at the table.
P. C.
I came here for Afternoon Tea on my birthday I found it on a list of the top places to get vegan afternoon tea in Edinburgh and I would say they got it right!
The vegan option is readily available, so you don't have to call up ahead to order it. And it was really tasty! The artichoke and pea sandwich was unique, and the cream for the scones was lush! The little walnut and potato thing may have been my favourite part, so I'm pleased I got my boyfriend's portion too. My only complaint is that the cakes were maybe a bit too sweet, so I only had a couple of bites of each. The flavours were lovely though.
The venue is beautiful, but they're not at all pretentious (I wore Converse with my dress, and my boyfriend wore a cap) which can be a worry. The service was perfect, everyone was so friendly and on hand to bring you more drinks if needed. The price was so good as well; I treated myself to the champagne option since it was my birthday and it was only £29 each! Absolute bargain. Would highly recommend.

My daughter took me here for a late mother's day surprise. I had the best day. The Dome is a beautiful place. The staff are all so professional and down to earth. They explained all about the afternoon tea, the service was first class, the afternoon tea was delicious 😋 had a nice glass of bubbly. We were so full they gave us boxes to take cakes home. Would definitely recommend 👌 and will definitely be back. Thank you to my daughter and The Dome for a lovely day out.
E. E.
The place is grandeur. Definitely a place were you want to celebrate and leave a long lasting memories. I enjoyed my time dining in this magnificent place. I've stamped my mark... My own memories...
T. D.
This is a perfect restaurant for a quiet ir romantic night out. We had the pork belly which was absolutely superb and the flat iron steak and chips. This was an incredible treat for us. We finished off with the cheese plate which we highly recommend.
A. H.
Beautiful setting, lovely staff. We had the vegan afternoon tea. It wasn't the best afternoon tea in the world but it was nice and a lovely experience overall.
D. H.
Excellent food, drinks & service, slightly overpriced but it's what you expect from a top restaurant but worth every penny from the quality of food & service that you receive
Z. A.
THE place to have high tea. Amazing environment, great decoration and amazing service!! The food and drinks are also amazing, just go with the set menu and top it with a bubbly 😉
C. S.
Amazing food and drinks just service was slightly below what you'd expect for the establishment
S. R.
I took my wife and our mum for a meal. Please please if you are ever in Edinburgh you must go. The food is fantastic i have never had food like this before and the staff was amazing
S.
I do love The Dome. Esp with their Christmas decorations. Service always excellent. Food delicious too. Nothing is too much trouble. Just book it!
S.
We had a lovely afternoon tea at The Dome on my birthday! The place is beautiful and feels luxurious. Staff was friendly and helpful, this was our first afternoon tea experience so our waitress explained the menu and choices to us. Everything was delicious! It's a lot to eat and we didn't want to leave anything, so I asked for a box to take away the last pastries in and enjoy later. I will definitely come back when in Edinburgh next time! 😊
I. B.
Beautiful place, service was impeccable, cocktails were lovely, food was mostly great so I’d recommend. Just maybe skip a steak and sticky toffee pudding. Overall, great experience
A. S.
Have visited before Pandemic over three times but this time the Dome Staff and Food exceeded expectations, definitely return nice and relaxing !!

K. S.
Had cocktails and a beautiful meal on Valentines Day. A wonderful experience. We will be back!
C. D.
Had afternoon tea on Friday. It was fabulous. The staff were exceptional. Was so lovely for our visitor from Germany. First ever afternoon tea for her and such a bonus to be in a fabulous place. The staff made it even more special for all three of us. Paul it was lovely to meet you. Xx
A. C.
Exquisite experience & stunning setting. Arranged a birthday drinks for my husband. Greeted and welcomed warmly, with my husband being wished Happy Birthday, which was a lovely touch. And being allowed to chose a quiet table. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, & all covid restrictions were followed. We had a really lovely experience. This is our 3rd time here, and we will certainly be back. The Dome is a wonderful place to visit here in Edinburgh.
X. S.
Staff were lovely and engaging, we had a wonderful time. The scone was stale and that was the only downside. Will definitely be back.
U. R.
Beautiful venue with good reasonably priced food. The service was very good . So worth visiting but book in advance as its obviously very popular
A. B.
Beautiful resturant, the interior is spectacular. Would definitely recommend visiting whilst in Edinburgh
E. B.
The food was great shame about the service!
For what you expect to be prestige the service was poor and lacked attentiveness. Attention to detail is everything and I felt this was missing
P.
1st time at The Dome , had amazing breakfast tea, staff very attentive couldn't do enough for us , topped of with immaculate dining area and the most amazing fresh flower displays, smells amazing .
100% recommend
K. B.
Beautiful building, amazing flowers added to the beautiful experience. Food was cooked to perfection
N. S.
Just the most exquisite meal I have ever had. Beautiful succulent Duck confit with dauphinois potatoes and Dark chocolate and Irish Cream Trifle.
The rose wine was so delicious and fruity.
One of the best meals I have ever had.
If you are ever in Edinburgh do go along x

Went to the Georgian tea room for afternoon tea. Amazing setting. The food was top notch as was the service. Good value for money too. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend.

D. M.
It's one of the most gorgeous restaurant buildings out there. A visit is worth just to go see it. The atmosphere was excellent and food was delicious. All 3 courses. Service could have been a bit better though. That's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
S. M.
Gorgeous place, good quality drinks, excellent service
M. D.
Fabulous evening. Great food, great service, great environment. It made our anniversary celebration feel very special. ThNk you so much..
L. W.
Visited the club room for drinks
Service was outstanding, drinks served quickly and efficiently
Decorations stunning and really Christmassy
The highlight of our Christmas trip to Edinburgh
C. A.
Christmas high tea. The dome is a stunning building as it is but it looks just amazing all done up for Christmas. High tea was really nice and very filling. Staff were absolutely amazing. Our server saffron made the experience that bit better with their charm and wit so thanks Saffron, granny loved you
E. J.
Utterly glorious! Booked afternoon tea for two in the Georgian Tea Rooms inside The Dome a long time ago as a surprise anniversary gift for my boyfriend. He said it was the best thing we did in Edinburgh, he absolutely loved it.
We had the afternoon tea for two with a bottle of prosecco. The service was wonderful. All of the staff members were so courteous, friendly and attentive. We were asked what the occasion was with genuine interest, and when we began expressing interest in the history of the building, one of the waiters began telling us all about it and retrieved a page of information for us to read.
I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh and I certainly want to return. Thanks so much for a great experience.
J. S. B.
Brilliant afternoon cocktails and stunning atmosphere. Excellent service, good background music and outstanding drinks selection.
o.
What can you say about this place, stunning food, attentive staff that don't hover around you, great wine and martini's. We booked before we knew about the Christmas decorations......well it was like we stepped into Christmas to quote Elton John, was a fantastic experience and a meal we will not forget any time soon.
C. G.
Came to the Georgian tea room for afternoon tea with my mother for her birthday. Gorgeous surroundings, good quality food and generous portions (we needed a doggy box!) The service was excellent attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend
D. T.
Stunning building. Wonderful interior, great staff and lovely food.
M. M.
Really enjoyed our recent visit to the Dome. We were there to celebrate my sister's birthday and the staff were really welcoming and helpful. We were sat right at the back of the dining area and were able to enjoy a lovely meal and good conversation. Many thanks to all the staff for their excellent service and for making the whole thing such a pleasant experience.

Absolutely love the dome never disappoints. Unbelievably beautiful inside. Had champagne afternoon tea in the Georgian Tea Room. Absolutely lovely. The staff are so nice cant do enough for you can't wait to come back.
G. W.
Beautiful place with fantastic Christmas decorations. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is expensive but someone has to pay the electricity bill. Sadly the food was not very hot but to be fair they compensated us for this. Would be willing to try again.
D. R.
Beautiful building with ornate interior. Great quality food and drink served by delightful staff.
N. M. S.
Well worth a visit, absolutely beautiful inside, staff amazing and range of drinks and food excellent.
b.
A wonderful experience from arriving at this stunning building, entering through the opulent reception area and into the Grill Room itself. It is without doubt one of the most strikingly beautiful places to have dinner.
The menu is comparatively simple and yet caters for a wide variety of tastes; the drinks and cocktails can be seen being prepared with flair and precision; the service is excellent and the food superb.
The Grill room is only one part of the Dome experience and I am looking forward to sampling the other delights on offer.
J. C.
Beautiful building and stunning decor, went on a recommendation it didn't disappoint. Great service, good quality food and drink. Very reasonable, quite surprised at prices not what I thought it would be at all, expecting to pay a lot more. A must on your visit to Edinburgh
J. D.
Beautiful building, friendly staff and an awesome menu
D. W.
Fantastic from start to finish, food amazing as was the service. Couldn't recommend The Dome more highly.
K. C.
Booked morning tea given all of the festive decorations and the gorgeous building. Arrived to be seated in the side room which is also very nicely decorated and curated. I assume all morning tea is sat that there but I wish I had known this prior as opposed to the main dome room. The service is top notch and they are very attentive any request and need of the customer. The food is overall decent, nothing exactly impressive as its run of mill breakfast items. All of it is serviceable and there were no technical mistakes but nothing that was actually impressively seasoned or innovative whatsoever. The only gripe was that we were not even allowed to walk into the dome room after finishing our meal to even take a picture. Overall good experience.
V. M.
I love coming to The Dome at Christmas, it’s a ritual for me. The decorations are probably the nicest most luxurious display you’ll ever see. Afternoon tea at Christmas is amazing and cannot be booked. You turn up and queue. Service is amazingly quick though. There is a bar and restaurant too. I’ve had breakfast here and it was lovely too. Worth a visit just to see the decorations and have a drink at the bar.
S. P.
Already recommended to friends and family. We love visiting and will definitely be returning in future. Very friendly staff and they deliver a great experience. Thank you.
G. R.
We just popped in for a drink, someone had told us about it and we happened to be walking past. The inside is eye-catchingly splendid, the waiting staff very attentive and the drinks sensibly priced for the surroundings. We may go back to eat there next time we are in Edinburgh. A really nice half-hour break thanks.
P. M.
There is little doubt the architecture is amazing couldn't help but think the owners were in two minds about the effortless elegance of the building and trying to be elegant by placing outsized urns on the bar.
The staff on the whole were courteous, the older staff knew their job, the younger seemed to be trying too hard to be cool. I found it strange that a venue that seemed to be trying for understated refinement and quiet elegance had a central bar with a look at me cocktail shaker.
I wasn't impressed that I got the last steak early sitting on the 15th. I was even less impressed when it was overcooked.
On the whole incredible venue, need better management of staff and either improve the quality of food or reduce the price
Y. L.
Delicious food, beautiful tableware and nice service! I really like the sandwiches!
J. R.
Love this place. Great atmosphere lovely surroundings. Staff are great too
D. B.
The vast majority of customers love The Dome so I must be the odd one out! The building is magnificent and at Christmas decorations can not be faulted, easily the best in Edinburgh and probably one of the best in the U.K. I’ve dined at the Dome many times as it’s a great place to show visitors and it’s got a wonderful atmosphere at Christmas. The reason I give it only 3 stars is that for me the food is mediocre at best, it reminds me school dinners! This years festive menu had just had 4 mains choices. The service is polite, efficient but a bit stuffy. The prices are on the high side for basic food. Like most other restaurants in the city centre these days they are adding the service charge to the bill which I don’t agree with but appears to be the way things are going these days.
A. M. S.
Amazing lunch for my friend's birthday, and our waiter Lewis was awesome, really chatty and friendly :) Also loving all the decorations at the moment :)
K. G.
Lovely vegan afternoon tea. Totally fabulous surroundings and a lovely indulgent treat with staff making you feel very special and well taken care of. Can highly recommend for vegans. And non vegans as well!
j. B.
Great decor & lovely food! All the waiters and waitresses were friendly and professional. Except the mgr who, when trying to call him over, said he would be there in a second. He never came. Otherwise, it's a must visit place
M. W.
Excellent setting, great ambiance, superb teas and food - what more can you ask for? Oh yes, don't forget the staff who seemed to function with an effortless perfection. A great experience.
E. W.
As always a lovely experience . Food good. Service excellent. Staff very professional and friendly. Not too pricey considering you are dining in such a wonderful venue. Liz n Helen

Loved it!!!! The whole experience ... yummy food, lovely wine, friendly staff, gorgeous venue.

The Club Room is a wonderful place to meet and eat. It has a unique ambience, combining a library vibe with opulent chandeliers and lillies. It's quiet with relaxing atmospheric background music. We enjoyed a Morning Tea (like afternoon tea but with bacon and sausage rolls, yogurt and cakes) which was served by excellent staff.
N. C.
I love The Dome! Beautiful afternoon tea and so festive with all the decorations, would definitely recommend.
C. T.
Very nice food and great service, lovely room and a wide range of cocktails. Quiet pricey but we expected it
T. F.
It was an outstanding atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Had an amazing night and the Cocktail I had was very n8cely made and tasted very good, not to sweet and not to sour, absolutely perfect. 🙂 Can't wait to go back again.

A fantastic building, a great experience and brilliant service

This place was recommended to us for celebratory cocktails and we were not disappointed. We stayed for a couple of hours and enjoyed several rounds of delicious drinks in this beautiful and super impressive setting. The service was also excellent and the bartender was able to recommend some cool bars to visit later. Highly recommend this place for cocktails and look forward to trying the food next time!
J. B.
Wonderful High Tea this afternoon. The food was delicious and our waiter Fraser was so friendly and helpful. He coped with our several requests to make changes and tweaks to the sandwich fillings and cakes.
6 stars to Fraser.

We came to Edinburgh to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday, during the day we went into the city as we we are going out this evening. Went into the Dome for coffee but had lunch instead as we wanted to stay longer. It is beautiful and the staff so attentive.
C. B.
Great to be going out again especially when the Dome is a beautiful place to visit great food 🍔

The afternoon tea is truly a revelation. You will hardly find a better one in one of the best traditional London hotels. A reason to take a trip to Edinburgh.

Great lunch, staff are really good

A wonderful experience from arriving at this stunning building, entering through the opulent reception area and into the Grill Room itself. It is without doubt one of the most strikingly beautiful places to have dinner. …
A. C.
Exquisite experience & stunning setting. Arranged a birthday drinks for my husband. Greeted and welcomed warmly, with my husband being wished Happy Birthday, which was a lovely touch. And being allowed to chose a quiet table. Every member …

A must see when you come to Edinburgh. A truly spectacular restaurant with enjoyable service and great food.
R. R.
Top pub in Edinburgh and also one of the biggest pub. Filled with extraordinary and beautiful lighting during Christmas times and also it has the biggest Christmas tree inside the pub. Excellent service and various varieties of drinks available. Best place to have drinks with family and friends.
K. A.
What a beautiful place. The architecture is amazing. Great place for a drink and a meal. Definitely not as expensive as you would think. Can't wait to come back with friends. Quality.
A. B.
This place is spectacular, had a great time for my friends pre wedding drinks. The Christmas decorations are something everyone needs to see at least once a lifetime, never seen anything like it. Made us all feel very special. Will visit again soon and recommend to many... just stunning!
S. K.
Great taco’s and beautiful building with nice drinks. Marked down due to poor service - forgot our water with our main drinks and forgot condiments. Understandable but reminded and was told they’re coming but nothing happened.
d. C.
Surprisingly underwhelming. A limited and basic menu, unbecoming of the beautiful location. The chicken was dry, and the carrot cake was an experiment in what not to do with traditional recipes. Can find better food in Edinburgh by far
D. S.
Great drinks, cosy seating booths. Service was a bit slow but staff really friendly. We wanted another round of drinks 20 mins (slow service) before we got kicked out to make way for the next people- 1&1/2 hours isn't enough time. We would have stayed all night and bought a lot more drinks.
N. A.
Absolutely fantastic service and delicious food.
P. S.
Had a lovely afternoon tea at the Dome .The Christmas decorations were stunning

Great food and really friendly staff! Had

Great (high) breakfast treat for my birthday. Food delicious although I could I have eaten more of the mini breakfast rolls 😋😋 Lovely surroundings. Stunning interior
C. B.
Great to be going out again especially when the Dome is a beautiful place to visit great food 🍔
A. D.
Absolutely lovely. We were so well looked after.
Best venison I've ever had. Delicious cocktails as well. Thanks
G. T.
It was a beautiful room. We had a couple of drinks just to soak up the Christmas atmosphere. I made a mistake on the second order I asked for a glass of prosecco when I should have asked for a mimosa. They took some of the prosecco out and put a splash off orange juice in and charged me 1 pound 50. That did not impress me
R. M.
It's a beautiful place, staff were very professional. Great quality service. Food delicious. Had afternoon tea the cakes were a bit on the heavy side for me. Would definitely recommend it.
P. C.
A must visit if in Edinburgh. Step back in time to the days of refinement and sophistication. Excellent food, drink and service. A beautiful building that has thankfully been utilised for upmarket hospitality.
K.
Beautiful room for an afternoon tea.
The service was fantastic and very accommodating for picky tastes, swapping out butter for mayo and offering replacements for related ingredients.
Cannot fault them, the food was very tasty with good tea/coffee.
S. S.
Had heard about the place so decided to celebrate our valentine's over there. The food was great, the staff were friendly and the ambience and decor was magnificent. This time visited for Dinner, next time will be for tea 😁😁
S. L.
Morning Tea, so good and a really nice change from your traditional afternoon tea. Would go back in a hard beat
M. R. L. M.
A very grand venue, with many staff going about looking after guests. A truly love brunch provided with hot coffee and attentive service
H. M.
25yrs ago i was refused entry...tonight was a fantastic meal..Great food..Great staff..Great sounds
E. C.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely staff.
Decadent Darjeeling and afternoon tea.
Scones were sadly dry, overbaked and disappointing. For the £5 increase per head, scones need to improve greatly.
We traveled from Newcastle to visit.
D. W.
Stunning at Christmas time well worth a visit great cocktails too!
E. M.
Beautiful location with bookable tables for drinks. Very enjoyable cocktails on a Friday night in an environment where you can hear each other talk.
D. m. J.
The afternoon tea is truly a revelation. You will hardly find a better one in one of the best traditional London hotels. A reason to take a trip to Edinburgh.
J. V.
Absolutely love this place, have visited many times over a 10 year period and it has never disappointed. Superb food and excellent service from friendly staff. The building is spectacular and the ambience perfect.
L. S.
Fabulous place to visit, scrumptious food, service 1st class. Beautiful decor, wonderful atmosphere.
B. R.
Nice bar and definitely worth a visit when you're in Edinburgh - good selection of drinks, spirits and cocktails. Really worth visiting around Xmas as their tree is usually stunning
C. A.
Booked for their morning tea in the Club Room which can take place up to 2pm. Service was outstanding and the food was excellent. Coffee, tea and water was topped up as required.
j. a.
Lovely afternoon tea at TheDome with friends.
A good choice of speciality tea.
Sandwiches and scones were delicious as we're the cakes.
Will be back soon.
A. H.
Absolutely amazing. It's like stepping into Downton Abbey. The food was great and the service was even better. Highly recommend it.
T. F.
Wow, The Dome is simply amazing! We had such a great time! Our waiter was so adorable, patient and had great suggestions too. I wish Is gotten his name. (He use to work on cruise ships & has blond hair) anyway he is a top notch waiter at The Dome! Our food was delicious, the champagne was excellent & the hot tea was amazing! I hope to go back!!!!
L. R.
This is a really fancy place. The decor and architecture are stunning. I tried the afternoon tea and I must say it wasn't as expensive as I was originally expecting. The food is amazing and the tea is really nice. The waiters are very attentive and nice. Overall, it's a nice experience and I definitely recommend it.
D. B.
Absolutely beautiful, a little expensive but well worth a visit go check it out
K. M.
Very kind staff… even though they were busy they gave me a table… the food of course was wonderful

Excellent service, with an ellagant grand venue with attentive and informative waiting staff. Food was absolutely amazing totally full of flavour and an overall enjoyable experience, thank you.

Had a lovely afternoon tea upstairs in the Georgian tea room. Nice surroundings and tasty sandwiches and cakes served up by friendly and efficient staff.

What a great experience, from the setting through the service, and of course the food and excellent tea that was served.
For an afternoon tea - especially if you may need dietary accommodations - The Dome would be our recommendation!
N. W.
The Dome is stunning. The building is awesome, the decoration is so Christmas.
It's expensive. The crowd is mix and match and to be honest, I expected to see more classy people. The staff was very professional and the way the prepare the drinks, depends on the drink, is very impressive.
Definitely you must visit this place, but show some respect. Dress properly for such a beautiful place.
V. C.
I was here to celebrate my birthday...we had booked a table for afternoon tea...the whole experience was wonderful...the members of staff were just lovely I would highly recommend this place.V. Clapton

Fabulous food and service, definitely going back whenever I'm in Edinburgh
H. L.
Had morning tea with my daughter, just getting to use my Christmas present after th8ngs opening up! Food was lovely, served pleasantly by lovely staff and in such lovely surroundings
J. D.
High Tea was excellent, exceeded my expectations, not expensive at all.
Great friendly staff, superb ambience, great presentation. An excellent and very enjoyable experience.

Best place for afternoon tea. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. Would strongly recommend

Hits
> Stunning location.
> Everything was really on point. We ordered the 3 course £20 lunch menu which is very reasonable.
> Fantastic friendly and attentive service. Everything provided quickly and in abundance. Bread, lemon and ice in tap water, chocolate with the coffee.
> Caesar Salad was great, crispy fresh, not too much dressing - perfection.
> Prawn cocktail, delicious. Great flavour perfect size for an entree.
> Battered Haddock with chips - the best thing on the menu. Tender flaky fish, perfectly cooked chips, fresh peas.
> Mac and Cheese was tasty made in the traditional style.
Only thing to complain about was the warm beer 😉 thank you for a fantastic lunch team 💕
B. M.
Such an amazing experience. Food was extremely good and well presented.
D. B.
Just had drinks .. 5 stars for decor .. but felt waiter/service attitude could hav been better . The barman was chewing gum ! But we enjoyed the experience overall 🙂
D. R.
Eating in this place was an amazing experience that I'd happily do again! The service was impeccable (so attentive and friendly), the food was delicious and the decor is remarkable! The A La Carte menu in the Grill Room has a nice selection (shout out to the duck samosa starter and the lamb wellington main) so you won't be stuck for what to eat. Seriously, try it! The lighting and decor in the domed Grill Room has to be seen to believed. :)
M. A.
Great dinner for my girlfriend's birthday! Looks absolutely stunning inside and out...make sure you book the Grill Room if going around Christmas. Food was delicious, ordered tempura prawns for starters and Turkey for main with Xmas pudding for dessert. They put a candle in the dessert to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Perfect experience, would 100% recommend!
L. R.
We were seated by staff quickly upon arrival, having booked a table ahead online. The grill room is right under the dome and extremely impressive and it creates a great atmosphere. Food was exceptional, went for three courses and was struggling by dessert but had to finish it it was that good. While it is a little more expensive, I would say it is justified, firstly for the quality of the food and secondly for the dining experience itself under the dome.
M. Y.
Absolutely wonderful not to be missed, if you're not a fan of Christmas go here it will get rid of the inner Scrooge. Afternoon tea was lovely with a wide choice of teas ,nice sandwiches and the best scones ever (except my wife's) staff were immaculate and so polite .if I had to give a one word rating.
GO

Absolutely breathtaking! The service was incredible and every staff member was so accommodating. The bartender in the club room was out of this world and even showed how he made his incredible cocktail decorations! The best cocktails ever and a must do when visiting Edinburgh.
J. P.
Beautiful building, we ate in the club room. The food was amazing we had 5 dishes between two. Reasonably priced too. Can't name my favourite dish as they were all amazing!
F. B.
Very beautiful place to take a cocktail
H. H.
Beautiful surroundings. Helpful staff especially when arranging for a large party. Tasty snacks and delicious cocktails.
M. K.
It was nice as a first time visiting edinberugh

Had another great experience at the Georgian Tea rooms at the dome. Customer service from booking to catering was just spectacular & highly recommend the high tea silver service 👍👏🏼
l. D.
What a lovely place nice old building really nice place and nice drinks and food staff are helpful sept couple staff could not under stand what i wanted because they just started but hot their in end the only thing i have been couple of times and got scone which was ok but i still keep getting the taste of baking soda which u should not get that after taste of baking soda in scones the cook needs to put less they are ment to be soft and nice not to taste baking soda sorry i have made loads in kitchen before and for royals but the rest menu is really nice and loads of drinks to cocktails to soft drinks to hot drinks i always love coming hear when i visit edinburgh and also always tide and no mess throw out the dome
L. F.
Beautiful bars in the Dome Cocktails a little costly but well worth it Would definitely visit next time in Edinburgh
L. J.
I had the champagne afternoon tea after being gifted it. Gorgeous venue, and though construction is happening you can't notice it from inside. The staff are very nice, and it felt so luxurious. The music is at a nice volume and the Georgian tea room is very pretty.
M. A.
Anny was our server, she was incredibly conscientious and attentive throughout our booking. Nothing went amiss, nor was anything too much to ask.
This is an amazing venue for dinner and/or drinks. The service received by all the staff during our dinner was absolutely outstanding.
It offered great value for money for drinks, dinner, service and venue. This is not just dining out, this is a dining experience.
I would highly recommend and I cannot wait to come back!
C. C.
We went there for lunch. We decided on sandwiches. My partner and I had the shared platter for two, and we chose chicken curry, baked ham and pulled pork. They were good. Our friend chose egg mayonaise which she enjoyed. 10/10 for the chips...yummy. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed our special lunch with a friend in beautiful surroundings.
A worthwhile visit to the womens toilets to see the mirrors, flower display and lights.
A. C.
Beautiful place. Staff helpful lovely. A lovely way to start or end your evening. X
F.
Beautiful setting. Service and food was excellent. Good value. Recommend highly.

Went for a Christmas lunch menu in Grill room today. Staffs were friendly, food was great(especially loved the starter mushroom), and the interior and Christmas decoration were fantastic. Definitely recommend.
Μ. S.
Magical Christmas atmosphere. Wonderful place to be. Friendly and professional staff and delicious scones and coffee. Perfect!
M.
The true fancy place to dress up for high tea. Superb service and food! I was in love with the decor here. I didn’t dress properly because it was a last minute plan to come here so there were a lot of people staring... but whatever, you do you! So I guess come dressed up! The price ranges from £18.50 to £26 per person depending on your selections of champagne or without bubbles. It was lovely being here, highly recommend!
S. S.
Amazing pub in the new town. it's famous and rightly so. I have seen lots of refurbished pubs but this is another level. the flower arrangements are spectacular, the decor and design is impressive and there is a good range of drinks. definitely worth a visit if you are in the area
J. B.
Stunning. An impromptu visit to this beautiful relaxing venue. Definitely worth a visit but would recommend booking in advance, we were lucky to get a table as walk-ins. Great drinks selection, espresso martini was delicious. The staff are amazing very professional and attentive. Worth a visit just to admire the decor.
A. t.
Beautiful place a must to visit when in Edinburgh, this time only went in for a lovely cup of mocha & a hot chocolate... Great friendly, professional service
M. P.
A taste of luxury. Had a beautiful morning tea here recently - a Christmas present from me to my fiancé and I. I've wanted to visit the Dome for as long as I can remember and I wasn't disappointed. Beautiful, classical surroundings and the staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. I can't date this place highly enough
J. M.
Evening meal we had here was excellent, food and service above average.
Decor inside is excellent and tables are well spaced out making for a comfortable environment.
D. C.
An experience not to be missed, decor and food amazing. Staff brilliant and attentive, hope to be back.
C. D.
Came at Christmas and the decorations were magical! Christmas trees and baubles everywhere, made the experience really special. The food was good too, we had the Christmas set menu, lovely and delicious but not mind blowing. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend
J. M. R.
Restaurant lovely like going back 100 years, service very attentive, food really nice and the security distances for covid great.
R. C.
Love this place, especially at Christmas. A place to get real cocktails made well and not thrown together
R. S.
We both absolutely loved it and the place it stunning in all the rooms but recommended booking at the weekend. The food was excellent and all the staff are the same just so professional and friendly a must visit when visiting this beautiful city
H. R.
Very royal plush ambience and atmosphere inside.
Good food and very well served by friendly staff.
J. W.
Second time eating here and loved it once again. Service was amazing, food was superb. We'll definitely return!
J. C.
Been to the Dome each time we visit Edinburgh. Food is excellent, service is exceptional and the Haggis is just great. Definable be back next time we visit the city
E. P.
Sophisticated place to have a drink or food. Waiters are very nice and decoration is amazing and immaculate! Highly recommended
J. K.
Beautifully decorated, definitely worth visiting the restaurant or tea room for am excellent meal and some gorgeous lighting
P. J.
Stunning restaurant with excellent food.
Staff very attentive and pleasant.
Well worth a visit for food or just a drink but booking a table is recommended.
F. E.
Felt very safe , plenty of distance between tables and lovely service .
C. F.
Phenomenal interior. The light displays makes this extra special venue literally light up, particularly around the festive period.
I always wonder how on earth they manage topp get such a huge tree in here.
The exterior is inviting, it's certainly worth going into to see the interior, even just enjoy a coffee. However The Dome us notorious so is often busy. Due to covid there was a point where nobody else was permitted to enter. I don't think it's uncommon for the Dome to be at full capacity. It's a popular venue, with it's grand entrance and exquisite menu, I think if you're from Edinburgh or not, it's a must see. Even just to view from outside!
W. L.
Beautiful setting, excellent tea!
O. P.
Really cool place to go for a drink. We just popped in for a couple of cocktails, rather than to eat.
It's busy without being uncomfortable, but then we were lucky enough to get a seat - plenty aren't. They are quite good at ensuring that they don't let too many people in at once, which helps with numbers.
The cocktails were nice and the bar service wasn't too slow, considering the numbers. Cost-wise, I was expecting them to be high but actually found them to be about right for a bar such as this.
It's really the Christmas decorations everyone seems to be there for, however. The place looked great and there's a sense of festive cheer!
J. O.
The Dome is every time just more and more amazing! The food is delicious and the menu offers something for everyone. The Dome has majestic decorations all year around but during Christmas period they've added a little extra drop of magic with their enormous not-to-miss Christmas tree. Such an incredible environment to enjoy tasty food and wine.
C. J.
This is a very impressive building to relax for a bite to eat. Fairly upmarket and decent prices, I would highly recommend coming here but booking in advance is also highly recommended due to its popularity. The food was very tasty along with the cocktails we ordered.
C. G.
Had a great evening very relaxed and the decorations are fantastic. There is not a big choice on menu but the food that I chose was very tasty and well presented and this was served by very friendly staff who made you feel welcome.
I would recommend to book before going.
s. m.
Lunch attendance...Elegance personified, stunning decor, brilliant staff, food delicious at a fair price, down side menu limited for some of us that don't like or cannot have smoked food, strong cheeses and garlic, only egg mayo option as delicious as it was would have liked another choice.
l. h.
Afternoon tea at The Dome, what a treat!
Beautiful interior, the Christmas decorations are stunning!
Attentive and friendly staff, super food, and a good selection of tea.
Relaxing, and not rushed, we were catching up and chatting for a couple of hours!
Delicious scones with cream and jam, and individual cakes, tasty sandwiches, and a box provided if you want to take the last couple of cakes home.! There is a lot to get through! 😊
It would be a lovely gift to someone special to take at a later date!
D. F.
Wonderful food, interior decor and ambiance always feels special. Wait staff very attentive and considerate. Excellent selection of wines and drinks. Would like a few more non alcoholic choices. This is a place I will happily go back to again and again. Don't miss out on their afternoon tea either!
S. I.
I visited the Dome for afternoon tea today and it was great. The tea is accompanied by three tiers of savoury and sweet nibbles and they also offer tea with a bubbly option. A very good place to enjoy high tea in Edinburgh.
K. M.
We had the most amazing waiter! Guy was incredibly helpful in picking out a wine and ensured that we were had the most attentive service possible. The service at the dome was second to none thanks to Guy!
D. M.
Met friends for Christmas lunch - it was 1st class! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and a step above anywhere else in Edinburgh. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. We looked at some other restaurants in town but they could only give you a table for 90 mins - which is not great if you want to meet/chat with friends over lunch. The Dome would always be top of my list - never disappoints.
K. H.
Lovely spot for afternoon tea at a good price. Great setting and atmosphere. The tea selection was decent as were the sandwiches, which were very tasty. However, the sweet selection was a sweet to the point where I couldn’t distinguish the items - a bummer.
B. B.
A bit more upmarket than I normally go to but found it very reasonably priced and excellent service. I went to an ordinary pub after having a couple of drinks in the Dome and not to far away, and i found that the pub charged more for their beer than the Dome did.
S. S.
Absolutely beautiful visually and lovely cocktails. Bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Great atmosphere 🍹
R. S.
Very special venue for a stunning meal and all round exceptional experience.
A. H.
Beautiful building with fantastic christmas decorations which it is renowned for.We had reserved seats in the club room.Service was excellent and the drink selection was good although on the pricey side.Had considered eating but 12 pounds for a sandwich put us off. Overall worth a visit but wouldnt stay too long due to the prices
G. H.
Absolutely amazing food! Well worth a visit! Beautiful
V. M.
General: Wonderful place, beautiful from the outside, and even better in the inside.
Bar side: The bar got a large selection of drinks, marvelous cocktails and ok menu of whiskys. The people working on the bar side are really kind, special thumb-up to the Mustache man!
Restaurant side: The food and the service is ok, but the prices aren't aligned with the quality of the food, it could be better. It is good, don't get me wrong, but too pricey for what it is.
F. J. M.
The Dome is a beautiful building. It was an old Bank. The inside is lovely.
However our latest visit the food was disappointing and service not great compared to previous visits.
Water no longer refilled, bread no longer provided unless you pay, food is average and service is either friendly or simply couldn't care less.
t. i.
Beautiful setting, beautiful menu and beautiful night, a must visit. Can't speak more highly of this place, can be a little more expensive than the average although that money is well spent you have with the service and the ambience.
D. C.
Service from reception to leaving was fantastic. Excellent end to end service, very accommodating of special dietary requirements and overall a very enjoyable experience. Well done to all the staff for making our occasion memorable.
S. B.
Absolutely first class.
The food and service were excellent and at only £45 for a three course meal per head with a great choice of wines.
My advice is book now for 2022 to avoid disappointment.
P. B.
Classy without being pretentious. Great food. Service very polite .
Get some photos while you are there. Pretty spectacular building inside. Grand on the outside.
A. S.
Great atmosphere and the Christmas lights look fab again this year albeit it's very early. Still who doesn't like a bit of tinsel. Drinks aren't cheap, but it's location, location, location.
J. H.
Definitely a destination if you are in Edinburgh, great food, well presented and lovely staff, but the star is the Dome itself.
H. R.
Christmas High Tea at the Dome - as always the Dome is just amazing and at Christmas Time its extra special. Staff in the Georgian tea room make you feel so special. Best tea in Edinburgh...perfect!!!😍😍😍🤗
K. M.
Excellent meal, who'd have thought a burger could be this tasty. Very nice surroundings and a relaxing change to the usual hustle and bustle of a pub lunch.
A. B.
Excellent as always. Spacious for tea, coffee and pancakes! Round bar and side bar both inviting. Flower displays ate magnificent. My granddaughter's birthday was held here 9 years ago and the Dome is as inviting as ever.
A. E.
Really nice place and very nice building but the food wasn’t outstanding and the staff could maybe be a bit more welcoming
C. H.
Beautifully decorated inside, especially the christmas tree, food wasn't great but that's probably why its not overly expensive, check your cocktails for alcohol mine's tasted like it had none in it.
A. L.
The Dome was a former bank building with beautiful interior and exterior. The service is attentive and pleasant. However the food itself was average at best. Furthermore the tea they serve in the Grill Room is from a teabag which does not make sense when in the Georgian room they provide loose leaf tea.
P. R. S.
Amazing place! Must visit for the old world charm and ambience! Service is impleccable ! We had the traditional christmas turkey sandwiches and fried haddock with peas! Yumm! The portions and price were really great! Its a cosy place which transports you back in history! If in Edinburgh do visit! May have to wait for 10-15 mins.
k.
What a wonderful place!!!! Even just wander in to look is a must see in Edinburgh 👌
S. P.
Beautiful interior with fabulous chandeliers, worth a visit just for that, but the tea, shortbread and cakes we had were lovely too, and the service was excellent. Oh, the ladies toilets are pretty amazing as well !!
G. M.
It was for my birthday and i loved it however food could had been presented a lot better i am a chef myself and know food i had the oxo cheek and my wife had the duckleg food was tastey but not nice to look at on the plate reqires refinery 👨🍳
K. C.
Came here for festive afternoon tea, had a wonderful time. Staff are so lovely and the decorations were fabulous. This definitely made my Christmas this year!
A. P.
Lovely place for lunch and cocktails. Service was great!
M. W.
Have been in the Dome many times, at different times of year for different occasions and it never disappoints.
Summer - popped in with my mum for lunch during a day out shopping. We both had the most delicious salad we can remember eating. Complete with haloumi - yum!
Winter - met a friend for cocktails and enjoyed them so much we ended up having about 6 each. All were tasty and came with a small bowl of chilli popcorn which was a nice touch. Waitress was very friendly and we enjoyed a chat.
Also been in on other occasions for cocktails. Nice to see the menu changing as you get to taste new creations but slightly disappointing when you favourite from last time is no longer an option. The more skilled bartenders will most likely be able to recreate it however, if you can remember what was in it!
Goes without saying that the interior is beautiful! and friendly, helpful staff. Will return and would highly recommend.
a. r.
Lived it,a Wednesday afternoon for a bit of lunch. Great service, fantastic setting and atmosphere, my wife loved it. 😍
B. T.
Lovely pre-drinks before a meal.
Private booth was ideal and the atmosphere was comfortable, waiting staff were kind and considerate.
K. L. M.
Nice setting but didn't set the culinary taste buds on fire. We came for lunch and started with some virgin cocktails - they were not particularly tasty. The berry one was very sour! There was a good choice of vegetarian and vegan food, so thank you, but the dishes weren't particularly gastronomic - a few of us had tofu salad which looked nice but fell a little flat, my dad had the bangers and mash which was ok, steaks and chips looked good, the poached pear dessert was very good but the other choices got mixed reviews. So in all, a nice lunch but no culinary awards.
S. R.
Lovely welcome, beautiful dining room well laid out and spacious. Afternoon tea was great and very varied all very tasty. Staff were very attentive and always checking tea etc. Highly recommend this place.
V. G.
The staff on the door could be less pretentious and a bit more accommodating to customers. Kept waiting for five minutes after our booking while they were more concerned about letting other people through, no apology for keeping us waiting unnecessarily.
A. D.
Perfect for a high tea. Recommended to make a reservation but if you are lucky you can walk in.
Very nice staff and superb food.
J. C.
A delicious dinner from the table d'haute. Really enjoyable, great service and fantastic value for money 😀 Thoroughly recommended.
Z. R.
Excellent food, reasonable price, very friendly staff, and beautiful venue.
I would highly recommend if your in Edinburgh, the cauliflower tacos are excellent
D. W.
Lovely afternoon tea. Would like to mention Paul our server…fantastic. Real credit to your organisation
S. C.
Overall it was amazing but the front of house was stressed and lacking. We were left ignored for 30 minutes after our booking time which meant we didn't have time for dessert which was already paid for.
The waiting staff were not trained either. Not know which side plates go and not giving chance to taste the wine.
The only consolation was the quality of the food and the surroundings.
N. M.
Amazing food and service as always..
A. Y.
Nice place, Nice food, must do the reservation because dinner time is always full. They also get yhe no daily menu and gluten free menus.
R. S.
Wow what a beautiful bar this truly is. The venue is well lit and decorated and definite pit stop for any visiting Edinburgh.
It may not be the cheapest however it makes up for quality.
We had gins and cocktails and the choice was superb and when asking for a cocktail off the menu the staff were very obliging and made up our requests. You cannot ask for more.
Superb table service and atmosphere, always a visit to here whenever it the city.
M. S.
Delicious afternoon tea with vegan and vegetarian options, excellent service and stunning ambience. Loved it!
R. M.
Only had coffee and cake, but definitely worth a visit, beautiful venue!
M. M.
Two years later with my family it was worth that wait had a fabulous time it was like a dream the lights were stunning the food was amazing the service was outstanding hope to go back soon for my 70th birthday 💕 😍
K. A.
Wow what a place. Very posh.
Staff were very friendly and gave excellent service.
In was nice to try something different. Most recommended.
C.
Went here for afternoon tea with a friend and it was such a good time. They were decorated for Christmas and it was truly beautiful to see, not to mention you could see the fake “snow” through the windows which was so cool. The staff were very attentive and the food was tasty. For £19 I would say this place was a steal.
A. P.
Stunning place, fantastic food, great service. a must if your in Edinburgh
F. B.
A great xmas night out. We were lucky to have booked it a few months ago. The staff, atmosphere and ambience was great. Truly memorable experience.
J. D.
The food was divine, from the presentation to the taste. The service excellent. Would recommend a visit here. Try the Pamplemousse cocktail, if you like gin, you will not be disappointed!
R.
A must see when you come to Edinburgh. A truly spectacular restaurant with enjoyable service and great food.
A. S.
Beautiful service food and experience.
I was offered a separate menu as a gluten intolerant customer. The menu was varied and alongside the main menu.
All my dishes- starter, main and dessert were flavorful and well presented and a decent size. My husband went for the 2 course deal and my.mother enjoyed the fish and chips main course.
We all left full and happy having spend a few hours in beautiful surroundings wating great food with attentive service. Highly recommend as we will be returning.
m. e.
Great service prices aren't too bad for George Street cocktails fantastic
M. J.
My partner and I came here for our anniversary and were not disappointed. We ate in “the club room” as I found the vegetarian options looked more appealing than the main dome room. We had a slight hiccup with our online booking but the employees were nothing but helpful, friendly and professional in how they handled the situation. We ate around 6:30 on a Friday night and the room was rather empty which was perfect for us as we enjoyed the privacy. Our servers for water, bar and food were all very friendly and chatty and which we appreciated. Our food was some of the best we’d ever had, I had the Leek and Mushroom Roll and I cannot wait to have a try at making it myself (though I’m sure it won’t be as good)! My partner had the venison; which he had never tried before, and loved it. 10/10 cannot recommend enough!

Beautiful building good service lovely cocktails

Unbelievable interior. Great service and lovely food
C. W.
This is without doubt the most amazing and elegant place to visit. An absolute must when visiting Edinburgh. Fine dining downstairs, afternoon tea upstairs and a cocktail lounge. Walk back in time to the Edwardian era with crisp table cloths decadent China and tableware rounded off with beautiful food and superb service.
L. N.
Love the dome... a must if you go to Edinburgh especially at Christmas 🎄 with the tree on top of the bar 🍸
P. M.

A wonderful setting for a meal , decor is sumptious and service is fantastic , we were there at christmas so the decorations were amazing , place was packed and lively.
Food was top notch , beautifully cooked and presented , I had the goats cheese to start with the turkey dinner to follow and the cheese board to finish , will definitely go again when back in Edinburgh

Absolutely stunning place, fantastic staff and cracking drinks menu !! Will definitely be back soon

If you are in Edinburgh at the Christmas period, make it one of your activities to visit the Dome. It is the embodiment of Christmas from the smell of the trees as you walk in to the lights on the pillars, the huge tree over the bar and the glittering lights in the chandeliers. It's a very busy place so get in early and if you want to eat there, book well in advance. It's a worthwhile experience though to get into the Christmas spirit!
M. K.
Just an amazing place.... The most spectacular restaurant/bar to chill out.
If there's one place to visit whilst in Edinburgh.... it's here☺️
A. L. H.
Beautiful place and great environment. Nice drinks and service to enjoy while staying in a relaxing time.

S. M.
Wonderful place for a meal. Food is delicious, presented beautifully and served by friendly staff.
A. L. L.
The whole place sizzles class with its majestic ceiling to the wide spaces between tables. Food was great, alcohol good and service of the highest standard. Cantvwaitvti be back in December to catch the Christmas tree and food then!
J. V.
The place is astonishing. It's not very overpriced and the service is great. At the moment it's better to pre-book a table for dinner; not necessary to have some drinks.
O. A.
Impressive building. The morning tea was not the best one I have tried. Could put more effort though to make it special for this place.
D. V.
The restaurant is really beautiful, it's delightful to eat here. Staff is very nice and food is great.
A. M.
Great tasting menu and good selection of wines. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
l. b.
Had afternoon tea. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice tea, worth going fir
R.
Really lovely setting and service
M. T.
Only had drinks but seemed like an excellent place. Huge vaulted ceiling, round bar in the middle of the room and the noise level under control. Had good service although the server did not know what I ment when I asked what kind a beer on the menu was.
A. M.
The place used to be iconic... There are the plastic flowers and questionable quality of the service. Perhaps the place will benefit from the staff training.
M. M. N. (. M.
Our visit were last Christmas. The decorations is stunning, the menu offer variety of considered good options and the service were very polite. Go the dome or stay at home 🙏🏼

Visited the Dome Restaurant on the 24th November for dinner. We were welcomed the day before by Stephen on the front of house who recommended we comeback the next day and booked us in. A great guy and made us confident it the choice and informed us of the menu. The Dome is extravagant decorated for Christmas and really sets a high standard with people coming in just to take pictures and enjoy the festive ambience, it's fantastic. Stephen really did make the evening special, remembered who we were and that it was for my wife's birthday, even making sure we got the table for an extended time.
The menu is fantastic and has something for everyone and to most budgets, it's not cheap but certainly not expensive. We had the Home made Veg soup and Haggis wrapped in Filo with whisky Sauce, both very good and a good intro to my wife to Haggis (I'm Scottish so love it). I had the Burger on Brioche bun (some days you just want a burger) and my wife had the Christmas dinner, the turkey was melt in your mouth. with poached pear he poached pear butterscotch with toasted walnuts for dessert. We also had a bottle of Moet and some cocktails and it all came to well under £150.
The whole experience was first class and we would highly recommend it, so much so in fact we are booking for next year.
E. S.
lively meal staff great our second time there an definitely be back
A. S.
Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea got to take cakes home we did not eat as so much other food

Will definitely come back.
J. T.
Excellent. Good food, nice surroundings. Recommended. Go and see for yourself.
T. S.
What a beautiful place this is. Book in advance if you want to eat as you may very well not get in. The front bar is splendid with a fine choice of drinks. It's a great place to take someone if you want to impress them.
M. R.
Fantastic surroundings matched with the service and food. Make sure you visit this place for a special night out
R. W.
I visited here with some friends over the weekend. Even from the outside it looks very grand but wait till you get in side! The interior is all gold gilded and marble columns. Once seated the service was brilliant. We had club sandwiches and beers which were very well priced. The vegan in our group was able to find something on the menu to suit as well. Well worth a visit at lunch for a quick bit to eat whilst exploring the city. I'm sure its well worth a visit in the evening too for drinks
D. P.
Best Christmas tree in Edinburgh. Lights are brilliant and actually quite overwhelming. Nipped in for a late night drink. Good selection of single malts and beers. The grandeur of the place is particularly striking. Don't go at Christmas if you're allergic to lights!
L. H.
Beautiful venue for a drink, but can get very busy on Saturday evening, be prepared to wait in line. The Christmas decorations are beautiful so a great time to visit.
J. L.
Amazing ceilings and decorations, staff very busy but very attentive
J. W.
There's great service here. You definitely get what you pay for in this great looking venue.
L. D.
Always a great place to dine at while in Edinburgh. 1st class food, serve and decor.

Such a beautiful place to go to whilst visiting Edinburgh. We went for afternoon tea and both the food and service was impeccable. The decor and surroundings are authentic and high end and considering that I thought everything was very well priced. I would definitely visit again.
D. S.
Absolutely amazing, the vegan afternoon tea was perfect and the staff are so helpful. Will be going again for sure
S. Y.
Was gifted an afternoon tea experience here for my birthday and it was wonderful! Staff were attentive and friendly, beautiful tea room, and the cakes and sandwiches were scrumptious. My boyfriend and I were really surprised by how full we were from all those cakes and tea!
M. P.
Well worth visiting to see this grade 1 listed beautiful place. Lovely bar..see pics.. eat drink and relax
S. B.
Fantastic! So beautiful and so yummy. Worth coming to Scotland for.
S. C.
My favourite wine/cocktail bar ever. I mean, just look at it! On the expensive side, but c'mon if you visit Edinbrugh this is a must! Loved the interior and the service was really good.
M.
The best place you can eat in Edinburgh hands down.
B. M.
As ever the Christmas decorations are just spectacular, definitely worth a visit 🙂
Of course the drinks are great too!
S. U.
Lovely place full of lovely staff great bunch of lads altogether but you leave the place bankrupt
C. W.
Great dining ambience. Feels like you can spend hours sitting there. Dont be deceived by the looks. The pricing is quite reasonable. Of course the food matches it. Great mussels and grilled vegetables.
M. T.
Very nice place. The building is amazing. Cocktails was very nice. Not a lot of seating tho.
d.
Wonderful afternoon tea experience but sadly couldn't say the same for the dining room downstairs where we were told to sit and have a coffee while waiting. After being shown to seats and handed hot drink menus we waited 17 minutes with nobody checking on us or along if we would like to order. By this time it was too late for a drink and we headed up for our booked afternoon tea.
v. s.
Amazing experience, couldn't ask for more, such a lovely waitress who couldnt do enough for us, such a special meal, i cant wait to go again
d.
Come here every christmas for a visit. First time i have eaten here and it was truly wonderful. The attentiveness of the staff from when you walk through the front door is fantastic and makes you feel a little special. Decorations are just fantastic. Only down side is that the table d'hote menu Wasn't available despite being on their website . Will be back next year
S. R.
A great and fabulous location! I love the colorful dome and the colors all around this place. The drinks are quite good, not that much expensive as expected and the staff is courteous, friendly and attentive! Every time I'm in Edinburgh for business reasons I visit The Dome at least once a time!
H. M.
Wonderful food, lovely staff, beautiful building
R. C.
One of the most beautiful buildings I've been in. Food was amazing.
K. S.
Beautifully festooned with Christmas decorations, lights and trees .So christmassey! Service and food lovely!
J. R.
I had lunch with a friend and the food quality was excellent if a little pricy.
Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff.
A real treat at Christmas but booking early is essential. I tried last week to book lunch on a Saturday in November but they're fully booked already!
S. S.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Dirty toilets such a shame.
G. C.
Fantastic experience top class food ,staff are excellent .would definitely recommend. And building is beautiful.
N.
This place is amazing, you can get really nice drinks and great atmosphere. Takes you back in time. Also I had afternoon tea upstairs I would advise to book in advance as the service and the surroundings are amazing.
V. T.
You can see pictures of this place online but nothing prepares you for the reality. We came here over the christmas period, which is a must because the decorations are amazing! You can just visit to look around although there is a bar and restaurant too (booking in advance for these is recommended). A must see for those visitinng Edinburgh!
B. C.

S. K.
Fabulous location, amazing interior, great food selection and friendly service
A. H.
Had a lovely meal at The Dome, my wife son and I booked a table in the Grill room. The staff were very accommodating when we arrived early, the waiter who served us was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and we will certainly be returning again.
S. S.
Very stunning interiors. The prettiest bathroom I've ever seen. I only had drinks but they were good and so was the service. Very ornamental without being too stuffy.
D. M.
Awesome place, with tasty food, subtle but excellent service.
S. M. C.
Highly recommend. Very beautiful and great restaurant. Take a afternoon tea so lovely. I love it.
D. D.
Lovely restaurant.
Lovely food.
Great place to celebrate a birthday , anniversary etc.
l. m.
Amazing place, a must to visit. Great food and great service.
V. M.
The best experience ever in edinburgh. I was lucky to find a table for a Christmas afternoon tea ( high recommended to book few months in advance for Christmas period). The experience is difficult to describe. Like in the nutcracker you are surrounded by Christmas trees and decorations, with a staff high qualified always ready to satisfy every single request( I’m allergic to specific ingredients and they found a safe and delicious solution for me). The food is fresh and various and sweets and cakes delicious. With a big variety of tea. A must do!
J. R.
Jus gad a drink here lovely place not eaten here but will do soon first class service
B. D.
The staff and service was excellent.
The chicken liver parfait and the haddock were extremely good. I'd come back for those.
The food was inconsistent though. Very dry burger and a tired looking cheese plate that looked like it had sat pre-prepared.
They did remove the burger from the bill though. We didn't mention the cheeseboard as we did end up eating it.
If the food was consistently as good as the parfait and haddock it'd easily be a five star. Absolutely lovely surroundings/decor and comfortable atmosphere.
Will probably give this place another go but due to price/inconsistency it might be a while.
L. T.
Amazing staff that were welcoming, helpful and polite. I ordered the vegan option which was delicious. The food was lovely and the surroundings were very tasteful and opulent. I loved it and would go back again.
T. C.
Perfect environment for a relaxing meal or drinks. Impeccable service.
H. O.
AMAZING! So so beautiful, very christmassy! The décor inside is truly beautiful and the staff were very happy and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We went for afternoon tea for my mum's birthday and they even put a candle in the Christmas cake for her! Made the day very special!
S. C.
Shop til’ you drop in the side streets and stagger upon this hidden gem. Spectacular architecture inside and out.
G. M.
I didn' t enter inside but I know is an exceptional restaurant. Maybe next time... ☺️
A. B.
Amazing decor, just wonderfull for a diner.
Staff is perfect, and lovely food !
S.
Drinks are a little bit pricey, but it's all about the interior of the building . Great architecture and a fantastic dome . Been told it's even better at Christmas, so may have to come back .
P. M.
Went for afternoon tea, great and attentive service.
A good selection of teas.
Sandwiches were ok but the cakes were lovely.
The had vegan and gluten free selections and were flexible with their menu
J. K.
The fancy place.. it was OK.
M. W.
Just beautiful! Fantastic cocktails on sumptuous surroundings - well worth a visit.
A. G.
Lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly. Really nice and bright inside and spacious enough.
M. R.
Met my friend in here and we really love the place. We came early at 11:30am and it was not busy 🙂 The food, tea and a glass of champagne was great (cakes are my favourite obviously)! I will definitely come back 😍
J. S.

Morning tea was lovely and staff were fantastic! Very friendly and efficient. Absolutely recommend!
A. B.
The Dome Georgian tearoom was lovely...nice atmosphere, very well run and good choice on the cake stand... loved the authentic tea pots and loose tea, and strainer etc.
Most of all ,there has to be a huge shout out for our server Paul....
He really was one of the most genuine and helpful guys. .. lovely personality, consistent and very professional... would go back just to be served by him !!!
J. W.
Ate in the public dining soon at the side. Wouldn't recommend for food or drink. Rating 3 stars because it was decorated nicely, the waiter in the public bar at the front was very professional and the concierge was very efficient and pleasant to talk to. Upstairs and the back room looked much better in terms of quality though, we simply didn't book in advance.
k. h.
This was Park of our Christmas gift from our family, the setting is beautiful the staff are very welcoming and the food was gorgeous.
J. K.
If I could score the atmosphere and beauty of the venue alone I'd give it a solid 5 stars! However, the food didn't live up to the standard. Very bland curry, a wet/soggy top bun on my burger (they did change it when asked, but the next one wasn't even toasted). The only thing we enjoyed was our juice & dessert, aside from the beauty of the place alone. Worth a visit for the experience, but perhaps not for dinner - maybe just drinks!
A. P.
We had the most gorgeous afternoon tea in a fabulous place and very elegant,we will be back.
J. D.
Stumbled across this walking around. Beautiful place
T. Q.
Excellent service. Our afternoon tea was delicious.
S. S.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff. Caution when booking reservations. The bar tables dont serve dinner after 5pm. Unfortunately we booked a bar table as all dinner tables were reserved. The website doesnt indicate that the dinner service ends sooner in the bar. Not really upset, just wish we had known as we were in from the USA and this restaurant was recommended. Slightly disappointed, but again a beautiful location.
L. G.
Visited for breakfast tea with an Itison Voucher, the good was okay but not special, the service was middling. Not worth the inflated price.
a.
A beautiful old building with decadent decor, book for a table or enjoy a drink. A wide range of spirits, cocktails beers and wines available. Don't forget to look up, the domed ceiling is stunning.
J. J.
I had a wonderful dinner at the Dome during my trip to Edinburgh. While I felt severely underdressed, I cannot say more wonderful things about the food and service. Every staff member was exceptional! I hope I have the pleasure of returning in the future, especially for any special occasion meals.
D. T.
Stopped in the dome for drinks on a night out with work colleagues. It is a very impressive place and worth calling in to admire the building and Christmas decorations, (even in late October)
D. T.
We had a lovely Christmas dinner. The service was excellent. Only one negative comment it was very drafty where we were sitting. I had to put my scarf over my shoulders to eat my meal.
I. F.
Soup was lovely, experience had to be had ...cocktails we're lovely but staff not covering there tables ...asked a couple of times for our order but had already given it ....plus they need to clear their used glasses as it was very unsightly for people sat facing it ...decorated beautifully...
S.
My 1st visit and was for morning tea!
Absolutely delighted with the whole building and atmosphere.
The food and service was wonderful. Have already booked for afternoon tea when the Christmas decorations are up.
J. T.
My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea here served by a wonderful young man who paid the best most excellent attention to detail was polite courteous smartly dressed great customer service etiquette and his name is Paul
