Reviews of The Ivy On The Square Edinburgh

A delicious breakfast at The Ivy Edinburgh. Muffins toasted to perfection with tasty cream cheese and very silky smoked salmon. My son had a selection of breakfast pastries proving the theory that tasty morsels come in small packages and all washed down with a scrumptious hot chocolate with the very lovely addition of a toasted marshmallow. They even give you an extra smaller jug of more hot chocolate which is a very nice touch!

Amazing food and fantastic service. The lovely waiter brought out a cake for my mum's birthday as a surprise for her (I had not ordered it) she was over the moon. Everything was delicious food wise highly recommend The Ivy.

The service was 5 Star. The food some of them were adequate portion, other was not worth the money but food presentation was great.
The atmosphere and services which make people want to come back.
Recommended for family gathering or friends catch up.
We will be back. Thank you for a very attentive and polite waiter 👍

Went here for breakfast over the festive period. That was the only time we could get in as they were understandably fully booked up. It's the first time I had visited an Ivy restaurant and I was not disapointed. Breakfast was a traditional Scottish one with haggis and tattie scones added to the usual cooked food. It was all excellent.

A good dining experience and the decor adds to a relaxed atmosphere.
The service wasn’t rushed and we enjoyed our escape from a few hours of shopping.
Good food with an extensive wine list.
The best seats upstairs by the large windows seem to be reserved for people in the know but hey why not as we were only visiting Edinburgh for a couple of days.

My friend and I visited for afternoon tea yesterday and it was just fabulous! The team were so friendly and helpful, and were able to accommodate my request for a vegan afternoon tea with ease. What was really nice was how the chef had put thought and care in to the vegan option, which was just a wonderful as my friend’s non vegan afternoon tea. I even had vegan clotted cream for my scones (made with coconut!). Really impressed.

We had a delicious brunch here and our waitor and waitress were Friendly and helpful but in another section this wasn't the case. The food was good but some of the items were forgotten when plated up, it was rectified. The French Martini is made perfectly. And the decor and atmosphere is good. Thank you.

A nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. The indoor setting is rather unique and vibrant. We came for brunch and it was a good overall experience. The staff were friendly and professional. We are giving 4 stars because for the price we paid it wasn't the highest quality food. For example the fat on the bacon wasn't fully rendered down with some of the mini pastries slightly raw on side. A full Scottish breakfast is around £14 plus drinks. The rest of the menu items are around £8. Overall, I'm giving a borderline 4 stars but would consider dropping to 3 if the food is not perfect.

This is a fine dining establishment and for the price point a good introduction to quality cuisine. However with that comes rather easily manageable portions, but the menu is varied and the food tasty.
The service is as expected in such an establishment and this is a good food experience.
