Very nice restaurant, located in a very charming corner, the food was delicious, we tried the Haggis and the Chicken Supreme, both weee very delicious, full of flavors and very beautiful presented. There is a nice pub/restaurant atmosphere, with lots going on. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Lovely staff in this bar and restaurant, they really look after you, but with a relaxed manner. Genuine and friendly, the staff make you feel like you are with friends. The food was really high quality in both taste and presentation, the flavours were superb. They also have some interesting beers with nice guest beers too. Definitely going back next time I visit.

Amazing food! Took my 12 year old too! Service and food just wonderful. Salmon superb and my son said his chicken was great. Had an affogato to top it off. And my son had the homemade trio of ice cream. Perfect!!!

We booked the Magnum in advance during June 2021. Although it is a bar restaurant they trully treat you with a high standard. The menu choices seemed small in variety but made up more that expected in taste and flavour. They were very attentive and polite. Thank you to the lovely staff and cook.

I love this restaurant/bar and keep going back with friends and family. The food is great - I had a Cullen skink during my last visit (Scottish fish and cream soup) that was really delicious. The staff are lovely and helpful every visit is as good as the last. They also have an excellent gin selection.

Have eaten here multiple times and always enjoy it. Have a decent whisky selection and interesting food options. When I went I had a haggis spring roll which was surprising but quite good. Steak and burgers also great.

Came here on a recommendation and was not especially impressed. The decor makes the place feel like it’s trying to be elevated dining, but winds up being a little gaudy and cheap. We ordered the haggis spring rolls (which were fine but an odd combination) and the Cullen skink (amazing), but their wine selection is lackluster.

Popped in for an evening meal and a pint before heading out on the train. The Magnum is just far enough away from the beaten path to escape the madness. Our waitress was working her first shift and the staff were breaking her in gently. She did fine. I had eaten earlier so opted for the Cullen Skink and a nice pint. My wife enjoyed a main course (a cheese plate, something healthy) and my daughter chose dessert. (Chocolate Cake & Ice Cream) Excellent atmosphere and service. I do wonder if the staff all had bad backs because they all stuck the back of their left hand on their lumbar region when leaning over the table. The place was quickly coming to life when we left. Looks like a great place for large and small parties. I'd go back.

Staying on Albany Street for a few days, this was our closest pub. The whole appearance is clean and modern with firm traditional roots. The owner and his team were more than hospitable and took the time to make us feel very welcomed in Edinburgh. Worth a visit!

A bit disappointed as the roast chicken was poor and the burger mediocre. The chicken had none of the goodness of a crisp roasted bird and instead tasted more like bland poached chicken. The kale, zucchini and pea soup to start was quite good. Service was good. The ambiance was a bit bland but functional.

Went to The Magnum for lunch. The food there is absolutely delicious. We both had the soup of the day and then I had the venison which was so well cooked that it just melted in your mouth. Will definitely eat there again.
