Great service, excellent mango and passion fruit cocktail. Lovely place.

Fine food and lovely place. I had the chicken breast with creamy mash potatoes , cabbage and wild mushroom. It was absolutely Devine, especially the gravy. The cod croquette were well balanced in flavour with just the right amount of salt the enhance the flavour of the cod. I had the chocolate fondant with a soft vanilla ( Madagascar I think) ice scream scoop. It wasn’t special but still enjoyable :)

This restaurant has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and the staff are lovely. The food here is nice enough but we can't see ourselves going back. It seemed quite expensive for what you are paying for especially the desserts

amazing reataurant located a road up from Princes Street. the decor of the place is amazing and has you looking around around constantly. menu is fairly limited vut what is on there is very nice. i can recommend the fish and chips at £18 and the pandoras jar cocktail.

I went here as it is linked to the hotel that I'm staying at and didn't want to walk out. I had the steak which was cooked as requested (rare) and very juicy with a healthy portion of fries. The service was very much with a smile and the waitress was attentive without being intrusive. Would recommend for a business dinner or possibly date night (but not the most romantic of places)

I've been here several times during the day, when the restaurant is very quiet. It's rather nice to have the place to oneself. Service has been consistently good; nice smiley staff who are efficient. The cocktails here are marvellous and worth getting a few. The food here is also great. Portion sizes are decent and beautifully presented. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

I can not review kitchen as I had only drink there. Place looks lovely. Really nice decor. It's a huge place but cozy. Great location in the heart of city. Bar looks good and clean. Drinks are tasty but... unfortunately Poor customer service. So slow without passion. They all Iooked depressed 🤣 will be back just to try food too 🤫

It would have been five stars but after, wine, steak and awaiting our coffees, the bar man told us in no uncertain terms. You need to leave as the next party has arrived, so very rude. The waitress however and the rest of the staff were exceptional. Let's hope this bad tempered man doesn't let the rest of the team down again. Food was great, wine was lovely and the atmosphere lively.

We went there with 7 friends for a Sunday dinner. The atmosphere was nice and the meals were good. Service on the other side wasn’t as good as it should be in a place like this. As a waiter, you simply don’t ask customer if you can bring the bill... you wait for them to ask you. Also, be careful if they ask your if you want bread, olives or a side: you will have to pay for them.

First visit here and will definitely be back. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. We had the vegetarian sharing platter followed by the Mac and cheese. Excellent selection of beers and wine. Fab cocktail menu. Bit of a track to the toilet but they were spotless.

The atmosphere was nice, the meat I ordered was medium rare instead of blue as asked which is not a big deal for me. The wine selection is really good and the dessert was fantastic. I remove 2 stars for the waiter's attitude, who started by "do you want some water?" when we arrived to give us 2 bottles of still water before the tap water jars arrived with the starters. When the order was complete, he asked "and you want olives? Bread? Yeah?" before serving us 3 sets of olives and bread. With the fish my friends ordered, he strongly suggested a side which obviously wasn't included in the price. To sum-up his aggressive selling was very profitable for the restaurant, but left 10 customers the feeling of being scammed. From a restaurant of this category, this shouldn't be expected. Go there and say "no" to any suggestion.

Outstanding. We booked a cocktail masterclass for 2 and had a wonderful time. We spent 2 hours being shown how to make 6 delicious cocktails which we then enjoyed. The bar tender was a good laugh and worked really well off the cuff despite being really put on the spot at times. We were also shown how to make the signature George's marvellous medicine cocktail which was a real show stopper and both of us had a turn behind the bar making a cocktail too. We then finished off with some amazing deserts. We loved the ambience of the venue too. Next time we come to Edinburgh we'll definitely be back for more cocktails and dinner too. The masterclass was a perfect birthday surprise for someone who likes something a bit different.

Very stylish and contemporary. The Team look great and the welcome and service was fantastic. I had the chorizo, chickpea & feta salad which was delicious very tasty , the right portion size . I would definitely recommend for lunch even for business as the atmosphere was perfect .

A good place to grab a drink if you're in the area, or staying in the attached hotel next door. They have a nice wine list and a good selection of drinks. The atmosphere is really nice and always buzzing with a mix of locals and visitors. The food on the other-hand isn't amazing: well presented, but a somewhat limited menu and there is something just a bit bland about the food.

Lots of staff but inattentive service. Had to ask to be served while 6 members of staff were hanging around the bar doing stuff. Great drinks well made. Food nothing special. Worth going if you want grown up drinks but try and sit near the window otherwise it's a bit dark and not great atmosphere.

Located in the back part of the George hotel this is an impressive looking space with some fancy touches but still managing to remain quite laid back. Our visit was at 3pm on a weekday so unsurprisingly there weren't many people there but plenty of staff to assist. We had a reasonably long wait for food, although staff were apologetic. Food was really tasty and not any more expensive that similiar places in the George Street area. Food options are like upmarket pub grub - fancy fish and chips, steaks etc.

The food is amazing, fresh, Scottish and inventive. The restaurant is spacious and cosy. All the wine is also served by the glass. My only small remark is that the bar was supposed to close at 1am and they just singlehandedly decided to call last orders at 23.10 :(

A great place to dine, the atmosphere was fabulous and the food was well presented and (seemingly) delicious. However, one of my group came down with severe salmonella poisoning after, we believe, eating an egg dish for their starter. Went in search of fish and chips for lunch and found The Printing Press. Claire was attentive, thoughtful and fast! Our lunch was fabulous - crispy and light and great smashed peas and fresh hot chips. We had come from The Queens Arms around the corner where we sat for over 15 minutes being ignored. Our mood was turned around by Claire's great service and delicious food and drink. Highly recommend!

Great bar great food and great atmosphere. They hold so many weddings in the hotel that you often see a bride walking around, always a nice sight! It always strikes me as a business mans bar but i always see other ladies around lunching. The menu s great, I've always enjoyed whatever i've had. Wine selection is delish too. Try it

Had an issue with a key fob which I won in an online competition for 20% off food and drinks. My party had a nice meal but when the bill came only drinks were reduced. I queried and the waiter went away and came back with a printed notice saying fobs are only for drinks. Obviously its not the first time this has happened then.. anyway I paid full which left a sour note , it would have been good to acknowledge the error and give the discount in good faith.

If you are looking for a beautifully situated bar for a cocktail - Tempus is the place for you! Located on the St Andrews Square end of Princes Street, Tempus offers a chilled out environment to enjoy one of their many delicious cocktails. The only qualm I have with Tempus is the standard of their bar food. Disappointing to say the least but they do have a very grand restaurant area towards the back of the bar which I am sure is delicious.

The food, restaurant, decor and staff are good. However do not expect the 25% discount voucher to be emailed to you if you complete the comments card. It won't be. This has happened twice now and they shrug their shoulders and fob you off when you call them and try to address it. Shame really, lost our business due to this.

A very clean place with friendly staff, good selection of drinks and wall to wall with a resturant and hotel, it's a bar with two bar counters inside so plenty of capacity here. Prices are above average but you get a top notch place to sit and the toilets are actually nice and doesn't try to kill you.

You are looking for a posh place with a good kitchen, here you are. The collection of antique typewriters is a plus for myself, but it is just decoration. Bartender quite helpful, has cute pre-mixed old-fashioneds in small bottles, an amusing twist. Kitchen is very good, wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Not cheap, but also not over-priced given the quality. Hanger steak was outstanding, duck was good, fish was swimming in butter, got to dial it down with the butter, the steak also came with a carafé of clarified butter. Tasty, thank you

The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen is such a exquisite place to dine. Everything about our meal was lovely, from the excellent service, to the food, our drinks, and the elegant decor and atmosphere. It's not the cheapest place to dine, but you pay for what you get and it's worth every penny.
