Reviews of wagamama edinburgh st andrew square
L. M.
We went yesterday as unplanned visit as another restaurant overbooked his tables … we had a great time. The food was delicious, tasteful, creative, spicy, fresh. we had some of the best gyoza 🥟 we had a long time. We also tried three of the fresh juices, super yummy. £47 for two including starters, mains and 3 drinks. We’ll come back. The staff was very friendly and professional which is always great
D. V.
Overall great restaurant. I would recommend you come a little early, or get ready to wait, since it tends to have very long queues to go in, especially during the weekend. Once seated we were served very quickly and the waitress was just amazing. We didn't manage to finish all our food and she very nicely assisted us in packing the leftovers so that we could take them home with us. The food is really good, however I think you can find a few more authentic restaurants in Edinburgh. Nevertheless, had a great experience. They are very allergen friendly. Extensive menu.
M. J.
Never disappointed when here. Spices blows your socks off, but it's very tasty.
Good atmosphere, reasonably easy on the pocket.

Despite a queue to enter during lunch time on a Saturday, It moved quickly and once inside our food arrived promptly. The waitress we had was very friendly. Absolutely fantastic food and service from Wagamama!
A. O.
The food at Wagamama appears simple but the taste and ambience is lovely! The menu has a wide variety of Asian food grouped into Ramen (noodles in broth), Donburi (rice, protein and crunchy veg), teppanyaki(noodles and crunchy vegetable), curry and kokoro bowls.
I first visited Wagamama in London and decided to give it a try in Edinburgh and I was not disappointed. I have visited the restaurant a couple of times and gotten take out once (of which they mixed up my order but apologised by given me free appetisers). My regular is the fire cracker as I love extra spiced food. It’s quite pricey and at-times there’s a long queue but absolutely worth it.
A. S.
One of my favorite Wagamama locations. Clean and new, modern design and delicious food! Tons of vegan options too. Highly recommend.
G. C.
Had such an amazing experience that I've never had in any wagamama before. The man is called Elliot. He made us 3 foreigners feel so welcome and made us laugh so much his service was outstanding. Keep it up and like I said open one in letterkenny in Donegal we need decent food because last night it was absolutely amazing. There is so much I could say in this review but I won't apart from Dyson and Santa Elliot your a ledgend 🤣🤣🤣🤣
M. H.
Very good also vegan food, kind and friendly stuff, interesting and healthy choices! It is a bit loudly and not so cozy, but to eat it is perfect.
A. “. G.
Food really good, staff very helpful and restaurant friendly, warm and inviting. Plenty of room per table and staff attentive. No long wait for food etc.. Disabled parking outside, easy walking distance to city centre. I ordered teriyaki Sirloin soba and korean buns. Very tasty, plenty of different drinks to try.
M. W.
It's Wagamams - you can know what to expect but this place had a good ambiance. Our table was nice and the food was delicious per usual. The dessert definitely looked better in the photos but was still great.
T.
Bit of a queue on Saturday night, but food came out quite quickly. Staff are very friendly and food was nice.
H. C.
Queued for about 20 mins, sat down and ordered quick at friendly service, delicious food and good price. Everything you’d expect from a great restaurant.
A. N.
Very quick and friendly service despite having to queue pressure for a few minutes we were updated and had all allergy discussions so they knew how to accommodate us once seated. Tamas (our waiter) was super friendly and attentive!! The food was amazing!! The only criticism I would give is that my food arrived about 5/6 mins after my husband's which meant he was busy eating whilst I sat and watched. Would recommend but hopefully they bring the food out at the same time next time.
K. M.
What a fabulous experience we had at this branch today! All 3 of us plus a baby and 2 dogs. Can’t thank the staff enough, they’re so nice & attentive. Big shout out to the manager(?) who made sure our dogs got some water and treats. Thank you again, you made our day!
S. M.
Great staff, good food ! Cosy atmosphere.
J. S.
I've never been to a wagamama before wow it was fab the food to the staff was all spot on nothing was no trouble for them
G. F.
Naomi was one of the sweetest servers we’ve ever had! Excellent customer service from her. Thank you Naomi! Food was excellent and Naomi allowed us to have our sides first before the mains which was amazing. Definitely recommend!
T. F.
This restaurant offers great value food. Of course it's not exceptional but for the price it's really worth it. Pad Thai are great do if you're looking for a fast Chinese restaurant with good not expensive food, you can get there.
C. S.
The squid and duck gyoza were on point.
Great variety of asian fusion dishes
Firecracker chicken and the curry were delicious. Would definitely come again to try the rest of the menu
The waiters were kind and attentive.
S. J.
Food was great quality. Cooked fresh and quickly. Price was decent too. Two mains, two smoothies and two desserts for £45.
S. P.
Really lovely location in Edinburgh. There is lots of space inside and it feels really COVID secure. The kitchen is open so you can see your food being cooked. There are loads of different options for food, including plenty for veggies/vegans. Only negative was that some of the veggies were burnt in the duck donburi. Apart from that, the food was absolutely delicious, fresh and delivered hot! Oh and the staff were absolutely wonderful.
H. M.
Always a great dining experience - relaxed, when it's ready it comes, food made fresh and happy to accommodate for allergies. Friendly staff, happy to help and advise on the menu - see you again soon!

Went here when it was fairly busy in 2019.
First time going here to Wagamamas.
I had the Chicken Katsu Curry, Edamame beans, Pork dumplings and a cheesecake (can't recall what type). All of the food came pretty average amount of time for how busy they were and the food was quite delicious.
It was interesting having our meal/table right next to where the chefs were cooking. Just watching your food be cooked up.
Now sadly to the bad bit and the reasoning to not having 5 stars. Once we finished, we asked someone for the bill and they said of course right away and then we waited there for 30 minutes. After waiting this long we asked again and then they went to get it eventually. I understand that they were busy but to wait 30-40 minutes to pay and leave, it's just a bit too long.
But other than that the food was really nice and j would recommend!
R. M.
Had the most amazing time with our waiter Adam who knew so much about the menu and was super friendly. He really made our night would highly recommend coming to this restaurant and sitting in Adams section😂
F. F.
Lovely and fast service. The vegatsu was brilliant
S.
This Wagamama is really huge.
Service was excellent , our servers made sure we had everything we needed all the time .
Even it was a really busy Saturday dinner time, the food didn't take long and it was fresh , hot and really delicious.
Excellent customer service excellent food .
d.
It was a bit busy during our visit, my side dish came well before my main and wasn't very hot. Apart from that the overall experience was good and the staff were friendly.
J. B.
The food was amazing as always at Wagamamas, lovely location with a really welcoming interior, our server Sophie was lovely and made our visit the cherry on top of our weekend away
C. M.
Really good for a food chain. Service is always quick, food always tasty. Gluten free ramen is great! Prawns were delicious. Great for a quick bite to eat or to go with friends!
H. H.
Good "Japanese" food. Is a food chain but food is still of a good quality and variety. This particular restaurant is quite spacious with two levels to accommodate enough people. Interesting enough dishes don't come in a particular order, so you might get your noodles before your soup. Very kind and helpful staff... remember to ask for the dessert menu at the end
V. G.
Though the ambiance and staff were great, I wasn’t entirely impressed with the food. The gyoza tasted great, but I found the ramen was lacking in flavour. They did do a good job in terms of presentation! However, there are a variety of more authentic Asian restaurants in Edinburgh that have tasty soups for a better value.
A. A.
Lovely ambience. We got there pretty early so wasn't crowded. Had the gyōza starter. Was nice. A tad too crispy but that's me nitpicking. We had ramen which was very lovely. No idea how to use the large wooden spoon that accompanied it so we nicely ignored it 😂. In all was a good experience and would be visiting again
G. M.
Lovely food and excellent service; made us feel right at home on our first night visiting Edinburgh.
M. S.
Great restaurant for Japanese food. Limited but delicious vegetarian options.
S. P.
Wagamama has now vegan menu! Their smoothies are fresh and delicious and Foods are tasty. I like their food as they are less salty. I can always add bit of soy sauce, if necessary.
My favorite dish is a starter, wok fried greens. Also tried their vegan yasai pathai, vegan yasai itame. Fresh juice called Positive highly recommended. blueberry spice is good as well
N. F.
So we stepped just around and looked for a place to eat good food. Then we stumbled upon Wagamama. It is a very big restaurant compared to Edinburgh's average restaurant sizes but still is very cozy atmosphere. It is very hard to describe which Asian food direction it is going, since it has a bit of everything: ramen (Japanese), curry (Indian) and pad Thai (Thai), which in my eyes is positive since you will get a bit of everything and if you come with a bigger group, everybody will find something to eat. I was eating a seafood ramen (see in picture) and it was delicious! I also ordere a large fresh juice (they have plenty of it) so all in all a great offer. The price range is on the upper middle scale, but for the quality of food, it is definitely worth it. The waitress was very friendly as well. And they have an open kitchen. I would come back here!
G. T.
Very efficient and helpful staff. Food was very tasty and enough to not be over filling. For my first ever visit to a Wagamama I was very impressed. Would definitely recommend and go again.
c.
Good food, good service from the waitress. However we had to wait about an hour as we had a buggy and they could not seat us. Even though the upstairs was completely empty and they were sitting tables of 1 person at a 6 seated table.
C. R.
Really enjoy going to wagamama, particularly for their vegan options. I tried their vegan f-ish special and it was fantastic. I'm delighted that 50% of their menu is plant-based now.
L. B.
Came here with 2 friends. We had such great food and the staff were absolutely lovely. (shout out to Thomas!) would recommend this wagamamas to anyone. Thanks for a great evening!
P. “. S.
Wagamama is usually a safe bet for all. Tonight as a tourist in Edinburgh it was a good find. The food was very good, service was very good, and the wine was lovely....
Only thing that prevents a 5th * is the desserts are a little of a let down.
Still happy to recommend....
A. G. P. M.
Me and my friends came around 9:30 Pm as the shop was about to close at 10. And we had our Bus at 10 to Glasgow. We thought we will miss our Bus, but the service was fast and the staffs were so lovely . Thanks and love you guys . Cheers
N. L.
Wow! What’s great place! Modern industrial furnished with an open kitchen! Fresh food and simply delicious! - try the chocolate ice cream as a desert ;) ... This is how I personally imagine a good „fast food“ restaurant. Please expend to more countries in Europe! Greetings from Germany!😊
S. K.
What a lovely Wagamama. Considering most other restaurants weren't able to seat us. They were able to seat us straight away. And I forgot the waitress name but oh wow, she deserves a raise! Amazing service.
F. W.
We've used both the Glasgow Silverburn and Edinburgh branches. The latter is by far the best. The menu is the same but the taste of the food is far superior. I think the delivery from wok to table is quicker in Edinburgh so maybe that's the difference.
M. W.
For me is always 5/5 visit. Overall I choose some starter and ramen, I never left unsatisfied. Staff is very friendly, they can answer all questions you have, and also modify a dish for you.
Now with COVID-19 times there are some restrictions in place, like screens between settings etc. Place is always clean, only cons - look above you if there is any water dripping from condensation on a/c pipes.
b. b.
We love the Chicken Gyozas! The food is very tasty!
The to go reusable packaging is very nice!
We have visited multiple Wagamama restaurants and the staff has been very courteous in all the places.
The online takeaway ordering experience is fantastic.
S. B.
You can't go wrong with Wagamamas. Love the food. There are better Japanese restaurants in Edinburgh close to George Square that are better value.
N. A.
Love the food at this restaurant every single time. Great portions, quick service and a very casual environment. Fantastic for those parties where you know people will show up late but you still want them to eat
V. M.
Did take away, very busy, food was lovely but portions were very small.
T. K.
Lovely service, nice food
L. C. (.
The host who sat us (sorry I didn't catch his name - tall guy, dark hair and glasses, London accent) was so welcoming and informative! A rarity in hospitality these days.
F. N.
Excellent food! Let me get that out of the way real fast. If you're into pan-Asian, you can swing by wagamama and won't be disappointed. The ambience of the place is nice and warm, especially the staff. Great service! Totally recommend if you're around St. Andrew's.
M. B.
First time and didn't disappoint, delicious ramen and fab service
T. R.
Tasty lunch place was busy and much food was delayed quite a while but waitress was lovey and gave me this beautiful turmeric curry free..
C. G.
Nice place, very limited drink selection, had the chicken katsu curry, was very dry and rice was either overcooked regular rice or undercooked sticky rice, not bad but wouldn't recommend too highly, however it was cheap earning it the 3 stars instead of 2
C. G.
Wagamama's food was great, as usual, and the staff were friendly. Yet we had to queue outside for almost an hour on a Tuesday evening at 7pm... and there is no way to book which is a shame so I'd get there early if you'd like a table
p. r.
Had to queue 20 minutes to get in on a Sunday evening... Understaffed... Did not have my vegan option available (how does this happen?) and choose the wrong option which I was not keen on (my fault of course) so disappointed as it is not cheap!
C. B.
Tasty katsu curry, spicy option: really really spicy! Great place to meet up with a friend for a nice lunch on a Sunday.
M. R.
Great service and yummy food. Ideal location in the middle of Edinburgh
S. C.
Really nice staff and the food was more than awesome!! It was a bit pricey but the food deserves every last Pound.
N. S.
Delicious food and friendly service. Mrs. Klaudia helped me a lot in choosing the dish. 😇
M. S.
Just great
Staff were friendly, food was brilliant, atmosphere was spot on.
If only the juices were filled to the top of the glass.....
L.
Service here is amazing, the guy on the door today was super helpful, polite and a real asset to wagamama. Even though it was busy and wehad a wait he made it really smooth and pass quickly doing all he could for our comfort. Great communication and Superb service. Don't know his name but deserves recognition. London guy on door on Sunday at 2pm. Great food also.
H. S.
Excellent food and service and value for money. Thank you Ola for looking after us
L. C.
I'm a big lover of Wagamama's, and it's often a firm choice when eating out as service, value and taste I've found to be consistently excellent. Not to mention a fantastic vegan menu 💚
We went on a busy Friday evening, got a table within 5 minutes and food arrived promptly. I had Yasai Katsu curry, miso soup and pickles and chilli and garlic salt edamame. One noticeable difference was the portion size, larger slices of sweet potato and aubergine compared to than in London (I previously lived in London and ate frequently at various Wagamama's)! As always fantastic value for money, great flavour and swift service 🌿
*Top tip: Ask for extra katsu sauce, it's free!*
M. W.
It started really well with good service and the food was very good and no problem whatsoever, however as the restaurant became busier the service began to suffer with our waitress forgetting about our requests completely at one stage with a gentle nudge needed to remind her. Coffees arrived with only sugar sweetner in the sugar bowl provided. No checking before presenting to the guest and again a gentle nudge needed to secure sugar. Staff shortages?? It appears so but at least the online payment platform saved further potential delays.
B. M.
Welcome at the door was excellent. Food was good but the table service was poor. Waited ages to place our order and had to track someone down to pay. Longer waits would be expected if the restaurant was busy but it was pretty quiet. Wagamama is usually dependable but we won't rush back to this particular restaurant.
S. Q. G.
Really good Japanese food. The only thing I didn't like was that my plate took longer than my boyfriend's, so he had almost eaten his when I started mine. Apart from that, it's a great place to eat.
M. J.
Friendly staff, delicious food, affordable prices
A. U.
On 05/03/2022 I came to this place 9:15pm ask table for one only me and the waiter say no is closed. that can seat only till 9pm and I ask if I can order take way and he say no, only order by delivery, that’s rude…
N. S.
Delicious food and friendly service. Mrs. Klaudia helped me a lot in choosing the dish. 😇

Great location, environment and friendly staff and service, but very different ramen than I expected...

Not bad.. the juice is nice but the wok-fried greens too oily and salty

This is the first visit to wagamama for me. I was so amazed by the staff. Just a perfect balance of friendliness and interest and advice on dishes. The atmosphere was chilled and there was no rush even though people were starting to queue outside. I loved it and thanks guys!
C. Y.
Amazing food! Service was quick even though it was very busy!

Great restaurant. I love the meals
L. M.
Very good service, nice and varied menu. Although people were queuing as we were - we didn't feel rushed during or after our meal. Tables were kept very clean.
C. B.
This was my first visit to Wagamama and I was very impressed. The food was excellent and came quickly despite the restaurant being busy. The staff really stood out. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff were welcoming, friendly and informative taking the time to talk to customers and offer advice and suggestions, even a quick intro to using chopsticks with some Japanese cultural info thrown in for good measure! Highly recommended and I'll certainly be back.

We really enjoyed our lunchtime visit here. We both had Ramen: grilled chicken and beef brisket ones. The staff were friendly and efficient. We got a table straight away and our drinks and meals arrived really quickly. The food was very good and the portions were perfect for lunch - not too big, not too small. Wagamama came up with a great way of settling bills. Just scan a QR code on your mat (paper menu on your table), type in your table number and pay online. No wasting time waiting for the bill. We'd definitely be back next time we're in Edinburgh.
K. B.
Big, spacious restaurant, good central location, good selection on the menu. Friendly service.
S. M.
Love the food here and service was good. This is one of my son favourites
G. M.
A impressive chain restaurant offering Asian style dishes. Food has been tasty and decent portions and affordable. A wide selection of dish types with meat, fish or vegetable. Service has been attentive and quick. Very popular restaurant
R. J.
Fab! 1st time there and I didnt like my food. So they asked me if I wanted something else and just changed it! ☺️
A. S.
Had a great afternoon meal here yesterday :) staff are great, especially Elliott, who was on the door and keeping the queue happy :) Thanks.
M.
Good noodles, although we waited quite some time for our food.
Otherwise, great location and lots of seats.
C. G.
Always a delightful experience. Will always recommend the fat Buddha beer and pad Thai. Good to see the introduction of the wee Thai buns and squid balls. A little disappointed with the use of Nespresso plastic pods as the choice of coffee 😏
J. R.
Classic wagamama chain restaurant, always lovely food!
K. T.
This is a large Wagamama with seating on two floors. Decor and style familiar to anyone who's dined ay a Wagamama before. The food is to the usual Wagamama standard, which is good, and service is quick. Personally I think Wagamama have got the balance right for value and quality and I'd happily recommend one to anyone looking for good food at sensible money. Yaki Udon is my favourite, but the Katsu Curry and chicken and pork ramen dishes are also delicous. Deserts however can be a little odd at times, when they try and cram an oriental twist into dishes that just don't need it.
M. “. B.
Great service and food. Well done and very Covid conscious which is great😊
W. Y.
Very nice place to have a quick lunch in the city central. Very good service. Kids can ask for paper and crayons.
S. C.
Love the place and vibe. Wouldn't say as authentic as the names of dishes, but tasty nonetheless.
C. T.
Very accomodating for my son who is gluten free. Good service. Also the kids chop sticks went down well.
G. L.
Just had a gorgeous meal with the hubbie at Wagamama's St Andrews in Edinburgh. Had to jump on and leave a review, the waiting on staff were exceptional, very busy time for them but they were on the ball to make sure everyone in the restaurant had what they needed, there was even a queue at the front door so to get the tables turned round with clearing and anti-bac with brilliant. Thanks also to the chef's and kitchen staff, both our meals were spot on x
B. R.
First time experience in a Wagamama, super helpful for gluten free options and really knew their stuff . Nice options that I really enjoyed. Helpful with toddler too with chair and space. Would certainly reccomnd ☺️
J. T.
Great food. Healthy and tasty. Also great service.
H. A.
Had a very delicious lunch here with friends. Vivian was lovely and helpful when it came to dealing with my allergies. Having a separate non-gluten menu is brilliant!
T. H.
Fantastic vegan menu and super tasty low alcohol beer. Also the usual array of meat dishes. Busy on Friday & Saturdays.
K.
Loved it. Friendly helpful staff. Good choice of well prepared, tasty food.. Hard stools and benches not to this old guys taste, but fortunately some comfortable chairs
F. M.
Got to love a Wagamama. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Great quality tasty food. Good options for free from, ask to see the allergen guide

Excellent! Starting from a very lovely chap at the entrance who booked a table for us to a waitress who was very friendly and attentive just to the right extent. We had yummy ramen, noodles and katsu curry (rice was not good). White chocolate and matcha cheesecake was divine!!! Definitely will be back.
B. G.
Staff very helpful and polite. Food was great too!
M. S.
Excellent food. Very kind staff. Special Naomi the lady from Japan who served us was very professional very kind and helped to choose the right plates.
Thanks Naomi

So happy I came to this place. Great choice of original and healthy dishes. I had the kokoro bowl and mushroom buns, my partner the katsu chicken curry, they were amazing. Customer service was beyond and above, everyone was helpful and kind, but maybe Peter most of all. We especially appreciated the fact they allowed us in after 5 although curfew was at 6.
We had a great time!
K. G.
The service was incredible. The food arrived very quickly and the waitress made sure to check on us regularly. The food itself was great as well!
E. A.
I really love this place. The food is delicious and well priced. The service is courteous, but quick. It can get very crowded at week ends.
D. T.
Very nice and helpful staff, especially one lady, she was around advised me, helped choose a really good meal and dessert coconut ice cream and interested if I'm satisfied. Recommend this place.
B. C. W.
Just what's we needed after some bad food in the Highlands. Simple and delicious!
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
An easy feed !
I. M.
Definitely would recommend for all. They have options for vegan, veg, meat eaters and even Muslims. As a Muslim I struggle to find places to eat where food can accommodate me, but a very kind waiter called Elliott explained through the menu what I would be able to eat. He had done research from beforehand about all the entire menu what is suitable for Muslims and this is very rare, and I really appreciate it.
The staff in general are all very kind and welcoming but Elliot outshines and helped us alot.
Food is spectacular as well.
Would definitely recommend.
E.
Had the most amazing meal but what was more amazing was the service. Our server naiomi went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal, even customising dishes. She was the most lovely, kind lady who really enhanced our experience. Thank you so much Naiomi, it was a delicious meal for our last night in Edinburgh and your customer service was the best we've ever had.
G. R.
Absolutely lovely food came here for the first time on my birthday
Food was prompt and tasty
but when we asked for the bill the waiter said he would get it right away we ended up sitting there for another 30 minutes with an empty table and a huge line of people waiting for a table outside staring at us... Which was rather awkward.. we had to ask again for the bill before he ran over and quickly gave it to us... Not sure why this took 30 minutes.
But apart from this the food is very nice
M. J.
Nice food, but the staff can be a bit more welcoming
M. A.
Helpful staff who customised the food to our liking by tweaking something not on the menu. High chairs for kids.
T. A.
The vegan menu is so good! I’m a big fan of Wagamama!
C. Y.
Great staff, so baby friendly and welcoming. Food really tasty but a bit slow and not quite like the images would lead you to believe, the curry came with no veg whatsoever, totally different from the picture! But the prawns were delicious!
A. L.
Lovely food, great service. Recommend the Sake & Buddha beer & desserts
E. P.
Great food , vegan and others. Good prices , efficient staff , nice atmosphere.

S. W.
Brilliant friendly staff, perfect size portions - and utterly delicious!
M. D.
Good food, tasty gin and tonic and usual free green tea.
Overall good service, staff could have been a bit more attentive.

Wow. What a lovely manager..... Excellent as always, well worth a visit....
S.
Lovely food however they had no prosecco which was a shame
b. o.
Open kitchen. Good food with nice presentation. Lovely service. Really clean
M. K.
Took no time at all to get a table despite a long queue and the service was so efficient! Food arrived at slightly weird times but was delicious.

Was my first time in a Wagamama was good food
R. L.
Our server Vivian was amazing. Attentive and thoughtful, ensuring we have a good dining experience.
L. D.
The restaurant is lovely and light with a relaxed atmosphere. We were seated near the window and right next to the open kitchen which was amazing!
I had a good time and me and my friend both enjoyed the food we had. The menu is well designed with pictures so that you know what you'll get incase you have no idea about Japanese food.
Overall I would definitely eat here again and I think I'm going to bring my family along next time.
M.
I often go to wagamama and that’s because I really love their steak chilli ramen but the last time I visited just left me very appreciative. I’m not exactly sure whether it’s because I go often or... well I don’t know, but on top of the meal, I received a banana katsu as a desert that was completely on the house and I just thought it was very kind of them (also it did taste quite nice haha). Though I’m not in Edinburgh right now due to covid, that was my last meal there and it was memorable and so if the staff see this then I’d like to say thank you again.
I. S.
The food at my work canteen is a bit better than the meal I had. Ordered duck fried rolls, sauce I would say needs a serious reconsideration, it wasn't great, it spoiled the dish, then the dough was quite dry. The main curry... nothing special
And I think the rice was either overcooked or the type of rice they use didnt help the dish. The toilets need maintenance: all of the taps I touched were moving. The reason I put 3 and not 2, is because service was really good. Very nice and fast waitress. The food they brought also very quickly. So basically people may be coming here if they are really hungry and all the other places are overbooked.
D. P.
Good service and good taste. I really like this place for freshness.
P. M.
Modern airy venue if a little cool in October. Reasonable Asian food, quick service. Partitions on tables.
L. C.
Brilliant, staff were lush and the lady that served us was so lovely and helpful, 10/10 food fantastic as usual 😀highly recommended
L. C.
Food was great and staff were nice and friendly. Will definitely recommend.
P. T. O.
The open kitchen is impressive. The chefs aprons are spotless and their routine clean and precise. That in addition to the menu which is tasty anyway, but seeing the care they took in showcasing the whole process was giving confidence. BTW loos were just as clean, as the saying goes - judge a restaurant by its toilets - so the overall impression was an honourable pass.
D. W.
Food was good quality and very tasty. We were seated quickly and staff were friendly and polite. The problem was that people were not getting their food together and the drinks came when we were halfway through the meal, despite ordering them first. One of the drinks was forgotten so we had to ask for it again. About 15 mins between each persons main and dessert arriving..
L. M.
Food was nice and service was very good. A very pleasant visit.
S. R.
Food was great, lad serving us was brilliant, patient and friendly and brought my partner some ice (unprompted) for her fresh tattoo which she really appreciated 😅 👌
C. L.
My partner and I went here for the first time last night. We were seated instantly, the staff were amazing, very attentive and made us feel very welcome.
We both had the beef brisket ramen, it was amazing.
We will definitely be back. Couldn't recommend highly enough
A. R.
Used to love wagamamas but feel over the last few visits ingredients have changed to poorer quality and no reduction in prices, particularly the cut of meat used for the teraki soba and your soy sauce. I dont think I will be visiting again unfortunately, as it was one of my favourite places to eat. Still ok, but now overpriced for the quality on sone dishes. Good service as always though. Thanks
J. P.
Visited with family, a few of whom had never tried the cuisine before and were quite unsure. The staff were very helpful in advising and guiding them through the menu, which was a huge help. We managed to get a nice big table to seat us all and had s great night together; thank you Wagamama!
A. P.
We got 15 minutes before closing and as we were entering the door I could hear the mad cooks saying: "No way!!" That's not something as a customer you want to hear.
I understand it was late, but if the place is still open and take orders..
Still the waiter were so nice and very attentive!
L. H.
Best wagamama I've ever been to!
The staff were very friendly and service was quick.
We had the best food I've ever had from wagamama!
I had the grilled duck donburi and it was so good. Lots of flavour and wasn't dry at all.
We also had a ramen that was also very of flavour.
When in Edinburgh will definitely return.
S. A.
Lovely dinner this evening at St Andrew Square, the staff were friendly and very helpful, great to be back in a restaurant after opening up again. Delicious food and Green Tea is always lovely.
F. W.
Absolutely lovely food! I had the Wagamama Ramen; it was delicious, a good sized portion and well presented. My friend I was dining with ordered the same and they had forgotten to add an egg to the dish but this didn't bother us. I ordered the cloudy lemonade and it was slightly too sweet but that was sorted once the ice melted. The service was slightly slow, however, the staff made up for it as they were very helpful and conversational creating a very inviting atmosphere.
F. B.
Great food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome highly recommended
S. H.
It was very busy, but it was expected for a Saturday night, and had to wait a small while for table.
Food and drink options were fantastic, and also excellent quality. We had the chicken gyoza, naked Katsu, and the Tantanmen beef brisket ramen. 10/10 would eat here again.
V. S.
Pretty cozy restaurant with amazing ramen. Would recomend to anyone who wants to get quick and tasty lunch.
D. V. a. S.
It was quite clean ans large area, the food was so fresh you could taste the quality of ingredients were great! The staff were falling over us to make sure we had a great experience. Also plenty of wheelchair access also. I felt overall friendly atmosphere, quite busy also due to location.
k. k.
The place is good 4/5.
The staffs were really friendly. 4/5
The katsu curry tasted a bit different from its usual and chicken was overcooked 3/5
Overall 3.5 could have given better if food was up to its standards.
D. D.
Nice service, good kitchen.
D. P.
I'm never let down whenever I visit a wagamamas!! Love the atmosphere and staff here in Edinburgh.
C. H.
First visit to Edinburgh branch, quick service and highly recommend the teriyaki duck meal and the pad Thai but the bang bang cauliflower was fantastic!!"
T. P.
Very friendly, but this is not Japanese food, it might be inspired by ramen, Japanese fried squid and others, but it’s totally different. In my opinion it is overrated from a culinary perspective though the location is nice and staff is pretty friendly and quick.
G. F.
Great Japanese noodles and asian dishes at quite a reasonable price. The owner is a very nice person and she cares about her customers.
The Indian restaurant next door is great but more expensive.
The place is very cool, nice industrial and modern design.
Merci beaucoup madame 😉
G. K.
Average. Food and service was not great. To compare with other wagamama's - it can be improved.
T. M.
Wasn't specifically impressed despite it being new. The atmosphere itself is quite nice with an open plan industrial feel. There appears to be some teething problems. We went here for an office lunch on a weekday and our dishes came separately even though not very busy, with one wrong order. The food itself was nice however.
G. F.
Our first visit and it was great! My son has a severe nut allergy and their process for checking the menu is the best we've come across. We'll done Wagamama! We will be back!
D. W.
Great food with fast service and really friendly staff. Nice relaxed lunchtime meal, can always recommend the gyōza 🥟
R. B.
Excellent take away just as in other locations
S. S.
Its a good Japanese inspired place with great food, ambience and friendly staff. Everytime I am confused about where to dine in, wagamama always comes in as a solution..😄😄. I love this place and their food.
M. L.
My favourite restaurant ..always delicious , lively atmosphere & helpful staff ..has i always change what i want on the menu ..
J. A. M.
The menu is the same as others Wagamama Restaurants. The staff are great, always with a smile on the mouth. The waiters are very diligent trying to advise you if it is your first time in the restaurant, or talking about the specialties that are offered. It has a good quality price and is located in St Andrews Square; which makes it ideal for a stop after a morning of shopping in the surrounding.
L. T.
A favourite restaurant. Love the food which is full of flavour and always freshly prepared. So many dishes to choose from. Lovely helpful and informative staff.
A. M.
Japanese restaurant at maximum levels.
Great dishes, great food, great staff. I hope I'll be back soon!
J. D.
Great place to dine. The food was delicious, really nice service and options dining in or outside
D. S.
Really lovely customer service
Dropped a pint of beer and they were super lovely about it.
My son has nut allergies and they went above and beyond to make him feel safe and welcome.
R. A. A.
Love the food and adorable
T. W.
Vegan menu !! So great to have flavourful vegan food that makes you full and satisfied. Free green tea , if you want so that makes wagamama affordable I believe. Drinks at restaurants can be over priced. Large portions , thumbs up from me.
A. M.
Great service and awesome katsu curry
M. g.
Best place to eat out, such beautiful flavours. Some staff not always the friendliest but the food more than makes makes up for it. Definitely give this place a try!!! You will not regret it
J. T.
Pan-Asian restaurant with a Japanese focus that stands out amongst other chains. The food is delicious and there's a huge range of authentic dishes available. The Shirodashi ramen is my usual recommendation, but I tried the ginger chicken udon on my visit to the St Andrew's Square restaurant and was not disappointed. The staff are amazing and are always really helpful, especially with allergies. Highly recommended.
S. F.
I love the food at wagamama and this was no exception, the only issue I had was the staff were quite slow with the service and the noise of the road works outside the building. However the wagamama ramen was delicious and my other halves tofu curry was also very tasty but too spicy for me!
S. C.
I like it but I don't love it. For the price (approx £5-6 for starters) and £12+ for a main, I feel like there are better value options of equal or even better quality nearby. This is newly opened so everything is nice and shiny and new, with seating downstairs and upstairs, where you can peer down on your food being prepared.
S. b. f.
It's really nice food there grilled duck ramen was Devine
K. T.
The ramen is superb yummy. Love it
P.
Great food and great customer service, tried the lovely beer called Lucky Buddha which has a great looking bottle and so I wished to take it home but didn't want to ask and be a pest but our amazing server, Niomi (I think that's how I spell it) asked if I'd like to keep the bottle as wagamama's was the only place I could find it, great service from niomi as she made me and my partner feel very welcome and I'd happily go back again for this reason.
L.
Delicious, all was really good and tasty but as I do not like spicy I had to ask and at the end I got a bit of spicy I was not advise, food is served as prepared so every one starts different, not at once. I keep coming back, love it.
T. K.
Fantastic had a gluten free menu so i was very very happy. Excellent food and service.
T. C.
I had a unique experience at this wagamamas. The day I went, they were introducing a new vegan dish by Gaz Oakley so it was cool meeting him. His dish was really good. I'm an avid meat eater so meatless dishes never truly satiate me but this one was really good! It was tasty and filling.
Got the firecracker as well which is always killer but I love the spice!
And a myriad of desserts. From all of them, I liked the cheesecake the best and that chocolate cake.
The starters are also amazing. Especially the chilli squid.
Didn't expect it to be so good.
B. S.
Food was brought out super fast.
J. M.
Fantastic food once again. And a great Thank You to the manager who reduced our final bill after we sat with another customer who required and Ambulance. It was a lovely gesture.
M. M.
We booked a table yesterday 4:30 , the staff are friendly and helpful ,the food was delicious and i would like to thank the guys who made the Sirloin steak it's just perfect meal I ever had .
Wish you all the best .
A. N.
This my 1st time with my friends and I really enjoyed it and the staff there were wonderful
d. a.
Excellent food, friendly and helpfull staff. Will absolutely go back next time I am in Edinburgh.
K. N.
Fusion japanese food with stylish & modern. I love the interior design of this branch, contemporary style with good lighting.
Ramen's soup was not hot enough for me and its taste can not compare to authentic japanese ramen.
Good staffs.
B. W.
Love this place! Food is amazing and service is great.
The place looks great as well, would highly recommend this place if you already love Japanese food or if you're trying for the first time. Some people may find it quite expensive.
Y. Q.
Went in with my baby, manager gave a personal touch to come say hello & ask if all ok. Great fast service... food did not disappoint
C. S.
Excellent ramen noodles and Asian curry selection. Lovely fresh juices and a great cocktail menu . The ice cream is worth a try too, topped with roasted, caramelized sesame seeds it is delicious!
R. G.
Brilliant service can't wait to go back
J. L.
Staff were welcoming and helpful, found food to be better on less busy hours, early afternoon instead of early evening etc. but a tad bland without a good dash of soy sauce. Had a table which is always preferable to benches so this was a very fortunate experience.
P.
I love wagamama as a chain and have never had an issue with it as it’s my favourite restaurant. The food was lovely and the restaurant was very clean my only issue was one of the staff members was very rude and continued to give me dirty looks however saying that, the rest of the staff were lovely. Thank you once again for a lovely meal!
D.
St.Andrews Wagamama is just as good as all the others I've been to. The service is also exceptional too, very cheerful staff and of course food tasted great especially the teriyaki soba sirloin steak.
C. P. (. M.
Great food, and fast service.
Popped in for a quick lunch, and boy it was quick. Food tasted great, service was quick, and no one stared at me too much when I pulled out my tablet and watched TV with my meal.
Would definitely return again.
M. N.
The food was amazing, the staff couldn't do more to make you feel welcome and the service was flawless, thank you for a great meal 😁😁
P. N.
Great food!! I loved it, I'll go there again anytime I visit Edinburgh
D. Ç.
Everybody loves but not me. Staff is helpfull. Food is not but bad.
A. A.
The main course was excellent (salmon teriyaki noodles, forgot the actual name. I think it was #46). The vegetable gyozas were below expectations (still not bad). Great service and interior. A bit overpriced.
Z. K.
Amazing experience, Elliot who received us was amazing. Definitely recommend to everyone. Customer service on another level by Elliot!
Thank you Elliot from the family who needed Halal food!
A. C.
Great food which cheered us all up; hubby's dinner didn't arrive until 20 minutes after the others and despite knowing this can happen and being ok with it, we got the meal for free. Wonderful service.
k. b.
I don't know how it tasted but we were sat right next door to it and it smelt Amazing!!! Looked good too from what we could see
S. E.
Great food. Great staff. Same old great Wagamama vibes.
C. B.
Modern restaurant in St. Andrew's Square. The food is good but portions quite small. Sort of Chinese/Thai food eaten with chopsticks. We were given a table by the window which proved to be very chilly with the cold coming through the glass!
R. R.
Great service, great food
L. S.
Want to say well done and thank you to all the staff who put the effort in making this experience safe and easy. Moveable barriers made for a pleasant and intimate dining experience and we actually prefer it. Staff went above and beyond making sure we knew what was happening and what to do.
We also loved the QR code option to pay. Meant we could scan pay and leave withiut having to ask for a bill. You shoukd keep this option. Well done Wagamama St Andrews Square
A. d. l. R.
Brilliant. We waited for our TakeAway having glass of wine next door, so our TakeAway was delivered to us!!! That's good service ... Fab food for our train journey home😁
D. C.
Delicious veggie choices and fast, friendly service despite being very busy.
K. M.
Great service, seated quickly during a busy Saturday evening. Waitress checked on us regularly and food came out hot and within a reasonable time.
F. D.
Delicious food and great service. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Can’t wait for my next visit! Thanks Wagamama!
I. W.
You always know exactly what you're going to get with Wagamammas, food is always good, always done the same, and no matter which one you go to it feels very much the same as the others. Great for a social meal, not exactly fine dining!
A. M.
Food was excellent and service was fast. The restaurant got busy mid way through our meal (around 7) so there could be a wait for a table
M. R.
I went to Wagamama in St Andrews Square, Edinburgh. The staff was amazing and REALLY friendly. Food was really tasty. Nice place to go and the kitchen is open so you see how they cook and it' nice and clean. Will definitely go back.
K. G.
The chicken katsu curry was delicious. Could have used a little bit more curry sauce but other than that it was super tasty and the chicken was really well cooked.
M. S.
Had a nice meal here. Despite it coming out wrong, Naomi could not have been more accommodating in fixing it. Excellent customer service. Well done.
H. a. s. S.
Good food with friendly staff. Good location.
M. “.
Great foods! There the ramen is fantastic, tasty and rich...Delicious!!! If you love space foods, they have a very good selection of them. I high recommend this place!!❤
J. M.
Despite being extremely busy service was impeccable and food delicious
C. C.
We were served by Nao Mi tonight and she was amazing! I highly recommend this place as it was extremely fast service with amazing food and a really good atmosphere. Nao Mi made the experience all the more better :)
D. J.
Very chic two-story noodle house!
K. T.
Great food, great service
L. L.
Haven’t been to Wagamama in years as it closed in Brisbane. Went whilst in Edinburgh because they had a mixed menu of vegan options and carnivore options and loved it. Staff were helpful and accommodating to us.
D. L.
Waited a really long time for food and drinks. Everyone's food arrived at different times and we had to keep asking where it was, or order again because staff forgot. Poor service but the food was very nice..
m. h.
Name said it all. Decent food
r. q.
Always efficient and very attentive staff! Good food and quick service, and loving the new way to pay online.
T. D.
Excellent food and very good service (thanks Jacob?) BUT...the fly in the ointment...with gin & tonic at ~ £7 a pop we tried for two more gins, but this time with no mixers as we had enough left IMPOSSIBLE - "the computer says no" - you only get what the till allows - customer choice be dammed! Pity TD
M. F.
First time in this food chain. Food was okay but nothing special. Especially considering the price. I had the chicken ramen. Could have been a bit more spicy.
M. S.
Do I need to say more, I think the picture speaks for itself 😋
F. D.
Food looked and was amazing
L. T.
Friendly staff. Great food.
n.
Wasn't as good as the first time, food was just warm and our order was wrong with a couple of items. But still tasty as ever!
M. G.
Always love wagamama. Asian Fusion food, healthy and delicious. Great for vegans and all lovers of authentic food.
A. M.
This was my first visit to a Wagamama. The Edinburgh restaurant has truly made me a big fan after one visit. The staff, the food all that went with it was on point.
d. w.
Decent service, great vegan food, a massive improvement on the portion sizes and content of food. Will definitely visit again. Great vegan menu
K. B.
Server was Kai, he was extremely friendly and professional! Food as always was amazing, can't get enough! Will be back as soon as possible
G. B.
Pretty close representation of some classic East Asian food. A little underwhelming on the spicy dishes.
M. M.
Was in for dinner last night. Despite a plethora of waiting staff, our table of 5 people appeared to be invisible. Waited 20 mins before having to ask for a waitress to come to the table to take our order. Very disappointing.
R.
I love the food but dont like the ordering issues and the seating arrangements best for groups and especially not for people wanting strangers slurping in the seat next to them
S. M.
Great atmosphere inside. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food as always 🙂
S.
Great food, very nice staff and amazing atmosphere. Will be coming back!
S. H.
Beautiful place to chill and enjoy some quality food prepared with love and attention ..
M. G.
It was okay, not great. I had been to several Wagamama branches across UK like London, Belfast etc.
The quality and taste were better in other branches.
P. S.
The lady who served us was so lovely! I love wagamamas a lot because the food is always amazing and the service is always fast and friendly.
c. w.
Great food and service.
D. C.
Great vegan selection but the chairs are hard and uncomfortable
A. A.
One of my favourite places. Vegetarian and Vegan food are nicely labelled. Also kids friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Great restaurant. Good food, nice staff. 5 stars.

Truly delicious food (chicken firecracker). Shame the old Isi Metzstein building was demolished to make way for it but that's hardly Wagamama's fault...
C. C.
Fantastic food as always

Spicy and delicious, Staff is very friendly. 35£ for a starter, two mains and two softdrinks.

Have yet to try a great range of their menu but even so.
C. R.
Never disappointed with Wagamama! Food is always excellent and staff friendly and nice.

A welcoming selection of asian delights and the staff tolerated all our quirks and staying til the bell tolled at the end of feasting and drinking
C. S.
Servers are always lively, nice vibe about the place and the foods always fantastic
K. E.
Quick service even though really busy & lovely food!
E. -.
The noodles were okay, but the sirloin steak was rubbery to a uneatable state.
