Really wanted it to be better than it was, as was out for a birthday celebration. Nice server but service painfully slow, made worse by a number of items not available on the menu such as fish & chips and sticky toffee pudding to name a few. Food was well received by the majority. Avoid the nachos as not worth the money, came with BBQ sauce, not salsa? Strange. Plus points no rush, ample space, child friendly and plenty of parking.

1st time visitor but won't be last. Great selection of hot and cold breakfast items with table service for ordering hot food. Unlimited food, coffee, tea and fruit juices. Service was great and I had a couple of plates of hot items and some fruit from the continental buffet.

Unfortunately I was here for a wake but the staff were amazing and very helpful the prices are a little steep for my liking as it was over 8 pounds for 3 cokes and over 16 pounds for 2 Jack's and coke and a pint. However the food was delicious and was a decent size.

I was booked in by my company. Not recommend eating Prawn cocktail prawns were ok sauce bland lettuce not much better. Hot sauce half chicken slaw nasty, corn cob looked microwaved. Chicken was ok cool but skin needed to be BBQ to Chris’s it and sauce would have been better is skin was forked and flavoured the meat. Veg rice was an extra charge as I don’t do fries. Won’t be recommending Beefeater.

My first night here was terrible. Everything I ordered was out of stock and I settled for a ribeye steak. I ordered it medium/rare....came well done. Seemed to have a soup of the week rather than a soup of the day. The waitresses were really helpful and friendly, especially the blonde lady in the mornings. Had a great sense of humour and really made us feel like we were at home. Drinks are a bit pricey though...London prices.

Somehow, Beefeater seem to keep me interested in their food, time after time. Even though I have eaten at 30+ of them, they have enough choice to keep me going, but first and foremost it's the quality that keeps me coming back and the Black Bear was no different. The steaks are sublime, perfectly cooked and the sides are of equal quality. One of the nights I thought, no steak, let's try a salad...WOW!!! Superb!! Beefeaters seem to have it just right and long may they continue doing so with me as a customer.

It's okay, trying to be more than just standard pub food so I can appreciate that. They didn't have the tikka burger I wanted to try so settled for fish instead and was greatly disappointed. The batter was greasy and the fish inside was dry and almost inedible, with the skin still on! I understand that's a personal preference but I hate the skin still being on battered fish. The only reason this place is getting three stars is for the dessert. It was magical! A cookie base with a tart cherry filling, topped with chocolate brownie and a scoop of ice cream. 100% would eat the pudding again, but nothing else

Fabulous - start to finish - all staff so friendly and helpful (Lianne in particular). Great food, I had rump steak and could not have cooked it better myself! Felt very safe to eat here too as sanitisers stationed everywhere. Staff All wore masks as we had to, until we were seated. Tables well spaced for added safety. Can highly recommend the food. Loved this place. Shame we were only passing through!

Upon entering the restaurant we were asked to use the hand sanitiser. Shown to our table and was explained the one way system if we needed to use the toilet or when leaving. All clearly marked out with the arrows on the floor. They had tables with signs on which meant there was space between each one and partitions. Servers had masks and gloves on. Overall they took the health and safety of covid-19 prevention extremely high. Meal wise was very nice, although the rib eye steak was a wee bit overdone but the fillet steak was very very very good, wish I had that instead. Although I spotted the premium surf and turf on the menu which I think I'll go for next time. Shared the churros sundae. Delicious. Overall it was lovely meal and felt safe with he precautions in place. I've been to a couple of steakhouses in Glasgow and the prices for their steaks are generally twice the price of the ones here and I would say I'm happy to just come here for steaks. Will definitely come back in future.

Booked over the phone arrived on time waited a few mins then shown to table no fuss. Didnt have to wait too long to place our drinks and food order and staff were nice and polite . Decent menu food arrived piping hot no complaints. However watch out as the car park are installing parking restrictions so remember and put in your registration upon arrival.

Not only is the food always fantastic here - steaks are always cooked to perfection - even the calamari is not over cooked and rubbery, but tender and moist. Also if you are part of the rewards scheme - which i recommend you get many discounts - i had a 50% discount voucher and had a wonderful family meal, 6 of us had 2 courses, all mains were steak and the bill was just over £100 including drinks - how can you beat that 🙂😎

This place has been a favourite for a wee surprise treat over the years, but our last visit was a disappointment. Our server was completely disinterested in us. I felt uncomfortable - as if our being there was a chore. My steak was advertised as 'unlimited chips' but not once was I offered, nor fresh drink orders offered. The place was very quiet, being mid afternoon, so no excuses. The food was good - it always is in my experience - but it wasn't enjoyed on this occasion.

Our server Allison was fantastic as always. Very kind, helpful and pleasant. The restaurant was was busy and yet she did well to make sure we were well looked after. We have stayed at the Premier three times in the last week and eaten both breakfast and dinner at the Black Bear. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional. We couldnt fault them. Breakfast and the Mixed Grill were especially good. Not often I recommend a chain but I wouldn't hesitate to go back here

Staff were nice and the decor of the place was nice and inviting. Ordered myself beer battered fish chips and mushy peas and the other half ordered beef and cheddar pie with mash and green beans. The meals came and to be honest was quite disappointed. The fish was nice but it wasn't beer battered as it said in the menu and my other half didn't particularly like the beef pie as it was suet pasty. Only thing that was really good was the desserts afterwards. Would come again but it would of been nice to get what we had ordered.

The staff were lovely and service good. All steak (3 out of 5 dishes) was requested cooked rare, all came over-cooked. The stroganoff steak did not taste like any stroganoff I've ever tasted which was really disappointing but it was still an ok taste just not what was expected! The restaurant itself was really tired, broken and dirty looking, badly in need of a refit!

Wont be back for a while after today,s visit ! My wife wanted fish and chips only to be told sorry we don,t have any Pollak left only Haddock. No problem I,ll have the Haddock she informed the waiter, both our meals duly arrived, Haddock looked nice but when sliced open found it had been cooked with skin on it and she had to pick the meat away from skin to eat it, also found the peas were cold. Readily accept that fish can come with skin but feel it should be stated on menu and or informed by waiter. My meal of open steak sandwich was very nice to be fair. Waiter did ask if everything was all right with the food and before my wife could answer he was off to serve another customer. Then came the bill an extra £2.49 for the Haddock, my wife questioned this only to be informed its stated on the menu that the waiter had taken from my wife as she had asked for fish and chips originally so she had no chance to read this, nor did the waiter point this out when he informed her that they only had Haddock available. We duly settled the bill and left discontented with the level of service.

Well, tonight was one of those nights where the meal was just perfect, got the mixed grill, I of course couldn't eat the whole thing...have a tomato had to go in the bin, soz. Onyhoo, 2 things would make here even better...a proper steak pie on the menu and...proper full fat pepsi back on the refill...can you not just charge a bit more or even 2 a 2 drink minimum for the extra charge...2 is all I need man. Over the past two years the Black Bear has went downhill with their service and the quality of their food. I feel that you are paying the same price for food that is to lower standard. There has been a change with the staff also as before they had the staff were always extremely helpful and friendly and now I feel that some have a terrible attitude towards the customers.

As a pub... Black Bear only have terrestrial TV, my suspicion was peaked when I walked in to watch chpions leage and it was easties with subtitles on. The place could do so much better if it sorted itself out. It needs... Proper sport on TV Craft beer (they only have commodity stuff like tennents and Stella) Allow dogs and promote things for kids to do Clean up their grounds, there's litter EVERYWHERE! Install a wee play area Etc etc Could be a right good wee community hub, but it's just a bit tired and sad. Food in the restaurant is pretty good tho.

Sunday roast was terrible Thick chunks of tough almost inedible meat,1beef medium,1 well done and 1 lamb.Couldnt tell the difference between the beef and the lamb! Vegetables were undercooked. Used to be hand carved joints,I suspect this is a cost cutting exercise and cheao meat.Service was slow but staff friendly and polite.Dessert was good, buy the quality of the main course means I wouldnt go back.
