Reviews of Bothy Glasgow
B. S.
Gorgeous decor, roast lunch was a bit cold and small for the price, no crackling or apple sauce with the pork. Haggis, neeps & tatties was delicious. Good alcohol free cocktails if you ask for them.
L.
This stunning restaurant serves a variety of nice dishes, well decorated and perfect location, let alone those friendly staff. Will definitely come here again.

Great staff! Lovely vibe. Cullen sink was good but I thought it would be better. Was very thin. Pork belly and beef cheek were fantastic!
Z. Z.
Well, this place is perfect for weddings and the decoration of the BOTHY is beautiful!! The desserts were delicious and the service was excellent.
A.
My first time back at the Bothy for many years. I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, delicious and really well presented. Real attention to detail.
We visited as a party of 5 and were well looked after. The staff were very attentive and could not have done more. The venue was packed with diners but this did not in any way effect the speed or quality of service delivered.
Gin serves, cocktails and summer spritz drinks were all fantastic.
A great venue for a special occasion, highly recommended.

Great culinary experience in Glasgow's West End, glad to have tried it! Interesting menu celebrating Scottish food, beautiful dishes, great flavours, high-end service. My personal favourite were the salmon (starter), salmon (main), and the unbelievably tasty honey parfait with the lavender tuille! Definitely happy to recommend and happy to go back!
R. G.
Arrived for a Sunday lunch. Beautiful food, drinks and restaurant. Probably the best in the west end.
C. W.
Great Scottish food, in a luxurious but comfortably relaxed coorie setting. Wine choices are usually very good value (with the exception of Champagne) and staff are always very friendly.
The ideal place to entertain visiting guests from abroad.

Went for lunch here as a walk in and it’s one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The ambience, decor is great and the staff first rate. Meal was fantastic, full of flavour, fresh and simply delicious. Beer selection is spot on and the Espresso Martini, like the food is one of the best I’ve had. I happily look forward to returning / going for dinner here.
D. W.
All I want to share is that the Bothy is a truly unique dining experience. The atmosphere, the staff, the food are all first class. If you are looking for the highest quality food experience you need to book yourself into the Bothy. I think you should go for it.👍👍

The Bothy played host to my best friends wedding in their private room and garden. The space is truly ideal for an intimate wedding and incredibly tasty meal. Amazing service by a team of attentive and friendly staff... My only wish is that my friends could marry here again!!
A. B.
Cosy yet quirky interior - excellent service and the most amazing chips I've ever had. And mushy peas like my Mum used to make. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
B. F.
The place ia gorgeous and the goat cheese appetiser was marvellous but the Salmon and the sticky toffee millefleur were a disappointment… no flavour and clearly cut in the ingredients compared to last visit a few years back. Service was wonderful but we had to wait a long time for the check and felt forgotten. Overall not value for money anymore. :(
R. L.
Lovely little place. We had olives, feta and some tasty bread with drinks. Sitting outside in the sun, enjoying the atmosphere.
C. M.
2 of us had the three course set menu at £16.95 each, what a wonderful choice, everything was very tasty.
The other 2 had the a la carte menu, plenty of choices, everything was cooked to perfection, 4 large soft drinks & 2 bottles of cider, all for £118.00, already looking forward to our next visit
C. T.
A favourite wedding venue to shoot at! It's a beautiful and rustic venue, with wonderful staff and picturesque spots for couples shots, a short walk away.
S. G.
Beautiful place with stunning food and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Definitely recommend and I will be back
J. J.
Dinner was good, tough the portions were smaller than I had expected. the meats did taste very good, we had the lamb and the duck breast and some salads. This is the place to go for authentic Scottish food. Just expect to pay about 20-25£ per person.
J. S.
I had a very enjoyable dinner here with a friend on Monday night. The food was lovely, staff were very friendly too. Service was great.
D. M.
Tad disappointed. Our server and food were average at best. It was not hot enough and pretty tasteless, the food not the server.
M. T.
Great atmosphere and food. The fish and chips dish was huge and delicious! Servers were friendly but we were left unattended for long periods of time where we couldn't get anyone's attention. We waited 35 min for deserts that the kitchen had just forgotten about and later couldn't get anyone's attention to ask for the bill.
M. S.
The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and like the atmosphere
D. C.
It's a bit hard to find if you don't already know it's there, but Bothy Restaurant is worth seeking out. The ambience is sophisticated, the menu is filled with traditional items (the cullen skink was delicious), and the service is outstanding.
P. C.
My Huband and I had lunch today and chose from the A-la-Carte. The food was fantastic as were the staff who were very pleasant and helpful. For starters we had Salmon/Crab and goats cheese with pear which was amazing. For mains we had Fish n Chips and Cornfd Chicken which was excellent!!! We will certainly be back to try their Evening
A-la-Carte!!
O. W.
The restaurant is insanely good. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was even better. It was also really reasonably priced. I recommend the sticky toffee pudding!
G. C.
Had the pleasure of celebrating a wedding in their function room upstairs; food was delicious and the attentiveness shown by staff throughout the afternoon and evening was top class. Will definitely swing by when I'm next in the area to try out some other items on their menu.
C. S.
My son had his wedding here after having to change venue due to Covid. The staff were great and applied Covid rules well. Food was great. Would certainly return after Covid.
M. N.
Tasty food, cozy ambiance and friendly staff. Good location away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Highly recommended!
L. B.
My friend's had their wedding meal and reception here this year. I can't thank the Bothy staff enough for their service, everything was perfect. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere they'd created in the room for us was incredible. Would really recommend trying out this hidden gem in the West End of Glasgow. You will not be disappointed.
C. J.
Visited here for a wedding reception during covid restrictions. Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Food was great and the drink selection varied.
P. N.
A fabulous restaurant to dine in and taste well cooked Scottish produce.
Lovely interior design. Friendly and helpful staff who enhance the visit.
k. r.
Amazing venue. Here for a wedding and the decorations were beautiful. Grace was our waiter and she was so lovely and friendly. Best vegan food I think I've ever had at a restaurant - haggis, 'fish' and chips & chocolate tart - delicious and very generous portions. Would definitely go back.
A. F.
Fabulous restaurant, great food and wine, the staff were outstanding, really lovely, super professional but also really kind.
And the wallpaper in the ladies is to die for!
K. G.
Amazing dining experience. Beautiful food, cosy boutique setting, friendly fun staff & reasonably priced.
M.
Lovely meal, good flavours and go9d presentation.
Polite staff but lacking in attentiveness, left with 1 drink my whole meal not offered a second drink. Order slow to be taken and not offered our first (and only) drink till we were 20 mins in.
This did not ruin our day but it was a wee bit frustrating
J. S.
The food and service were very good, however the atmosphere was lacking a little bit. Otherwise a nice experience in a nice restaurant
J. L.
Fantastic food, great service, all the family enjoyed the evening
i. a.
It’s an annual pilgrimage back to Glasgow from the states and when back The Bothy is a must.Fabulous food, with a Scottish influence,,friendly staff and great decor, hard to,fault
A. H.
Wonderful and lively restaurant in beautiful west end in Glasgow. Great food and good service.
R. S.
Lovely menu and good quality cooking. Definitely a place to visit.
R. B.
I had a genuinely lovely meal here again. Veggie and non veggie haggis were eaten, good beer and delightful desserts with can-do attitude from the helpful staff in a distinct atmosphere.
Price was even good for the great quality.
V. C.
Loved it! We enjoyed the atmosphere a lot, the service was great too! Good prices, worth the visit!
Note: The soup of the day was great as it was accompanied with an amazing bread!
J. H.
Decent restaurant. The lamb dish was very stylish and delicious. And the desert definitely put a high note to the dinner.
J. K.
Beautiful setting, great food and service also good. Family friendly.
J. C.
Great food served by kilted staff who are super friendly. The restaurant is traditional but not stuffy - a real metaphor for Glasgow! Haggis was not to be missed. Hidden down an alley, well worth the journey into the west end
A. V.
Beautiful address, the dishes are excellent and the setting is pretty.
K. S.
Amazing atmosphere and very tasty Scottish traditional food !!!
A.
This place is gorgeous, such as food and drinks! 💙
M. M.
Lovely meal with friends and a great menu.
G.
Great food and atmosphere, the private dining room is a fantastic setting.
A. S.
First time I've been there. Very reasonable and lovely fixed price lunch. Nice ambient atmosphere and decor. The waitresses were great AND hot
J. J.
The food was great! The sticky toffee pudding had the perfect level of sweetness.
S. H.
Just had an excellent meal here, the food was so full of flavour and balanced.
Had the Cullen Skink for starter, delicious, followed by the Haggis Neeps & Tatties, (some might say nothing special but to me it is) better by far than the one I had at another place last night.
Compliments to the Chef.
And the service was excellent too, friendly, warm welcoming and genuinely considerate.
We couldn't have had a better evening or nicer meal.
D. S.
Great food and a lovely atmosphere. A great part of the West End in Glasgow, and well worth a visit.
J. M.
A fantastic, up market roast dinner. In lovely surroundings.
L. B.
We were lucky enough to have our wedding here, absolutely stunning setting with the most amazing food! Staff are so attentive and lovely, can't wait to go back for a meal!
C. D.
Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had in my life! Every course was absolutely delicious, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and service wasn't very long.
The atmosphere is relaxed and they appear to have a smart casual dress code. It seems a bit dark when you go in at night but this is just for the atmosphere, they're not hiding anything!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to absolutely everyone (except vegans, sorry!) and will definitely be back asap.
D. C.
Great food great service at a wedding in the Scullery upstairs. Intimate space for a wonderful occasion. I've not been here before but now plan to go back for more wonderful food in the restaurant.
S. S.
Went for dinner last night and had a lovely evening. The food was incredible and the service was excellent. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu!
T.
This was quiet when we visited this evening. I thought the food pretty good: better than I'd anticipated. My lamb was nicely cooked as requested and the rope grown mussels very tasty. The wine list was decent rather than exciting. I liked the decor - dark wood and prints. There is, as the name suggests, a Scottish ambience but it's not over the top. Friendly staff.
k. w.
Away on business food was first class
K.
Fabulous service. Good food. Beautiful restraint. Also getting a seat outside in the sun to enjoy our dessert and coffee was a teal plus too. Will be back.
t. l.
Very comfy. Such a pity the twice cooked pork belly is not available today. Had a great lunch.
T. D.
Here for a wedding. What a great venue it is cosy with a big touch off class the food is exceptional and the staff very pleasant and attentive. I'm sure if you visit you will return time and again 😃
R. C.
Such a hearty and warming meal. We had arrived late due to traffic from a day trip, and they had their kitchen about to closed, but they stayed open for us. They were also patient with us and did not rush us. The food was definitely great and the place had a delightful warm feeling. Completely satisfied.
D. F.
Great food good service we will definitely be back
P. K.
Lovely food, great service and beautiful decor
N. A.
Have been going to the Bothy for many years and has always been a favourite to take friends visiting Scotland to for a meal. Visited recently and felt it has lost a lot of what once made it so special. Very little atmosphere with lights up full and generic music. Menus are now giant laminated cardboard like a chain restaurant offering special deals. Food was decent and the staff were attentive but definitely lacking its previous charm and authenticity.
J. B.
Great food, great atmosphere with brilliant service.
P. K.
Good Scottish food, great service and a fantastic location for food before heading to other places
D. J.
Celebrated the wedding of my brother and sister in law in the private dining room upstairs. Room is fantastic for small gatherings.
Staff were very nice and helpful.
Food was top notch. Would really recommend here.
The only downside to the private dining room is access. You have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the room so if one or more of your party have any disabilities then this is not for you.
There was a lift but is for staff only, must be to do with health n safety or insurance.
I have also dinned in the main restaurant and again had great service and great food.
Regards
Donnie

Surprise dinner from our daughter. A very pleasant evening. Food great. Lovely Scottish food at its best.
J. D.
I've been here multiple times for lunch and dinner. It has a convenient location and a warm classic Scottish atmosphere. However, the food and service have not been up to standard on recent visits. Our group of five all had the two course lunch -- and it took almost two hours, far too long for two simple courses. The waitress explained the specials twice and we waited about 15 minutes to have our order taken. Water was not refilled and it took 10 minutes and multiple attempts to flag down a server for the bill. For the food, my soup was OK. However, my pork chop was overcooked and under seasoned with gravy that was bland and tasted like it was out of packet. The pattern repeated with my colleagues' sea basses. I expect better; it should be for price. I'm afraid I won't be returning soon. My advice is to skip it and go to Five March instead for better value (three courses) and tasty food.
C. M.
Venison was excellent, staff friendly and attentive. Definitely will go again 🙂😁
K. &. B.
Fantastic service and an excellent menu thoroughly enjoyed the evening and a dram or two
D. N.
Delicious traditional food. I had the beef cheek pie and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambience reminds me of Gatsby meets Scottish Pub and it comes together so well. This restaurant was recommended to me early when I moved here and I'm definitely glad I went! I highly recommend!!
S. B.
Excellent classy food and basically can be recommended for any event.
V. L.
I would love to give them a good review due to the decor and atmosphere of the place. However, I got the Sunday lunch (roast beef) and my beef was terribly tough. The Yorkshire pudding with the sauce was decadent though 😍. It was a shame I could not finish the dish
P. M.
One of my favourite places in Glasgow, lovely building and decor. Food is excellent and consistent , staff very nice but overworked I had to ask 3 times for water and drinks, twice for dessert menu and twice for my bill. Still had a great meal.
J. M.
Have been several times and it's always good beautiful decor Scottish themed but not tacky. Menu gives good options and food is pretty good my only slight criticism is it's just a little expensive. Staff politely attentive and service good I will go back.
j. c.
Excellent food,service, location
H. N.
This is one of my favourite restaurants. I have never had anything other than a lovely meal here. They serve decent beer, good wine and the food is excellent. The menu can really only be described as modern Scottish. The staff always seem happy and friendly and nothing is a fuss. It is a nice place to go for a quiet meal or for a bigger night out and while it is usually lively it is never overcrowded or noisy.
m. m.
The decor was perfect, kind of smart rustic Scottish. Toilets very clean. Staff friendly, efficient and kilted. Food pleasingly moderate portions. Excellent quality but limited vegetarian options. Goats cheese and risotto on the menu is always disappointing to me because it's so predictable and boring. The shallot tart however was tasty. We were a party of 6 and the service was 10 out of 10.
H. S.
Great service and lovely food
R. L.
Lovely spot for some drinks and nibbles in the sun.
C. M.
Lovely atmosphere and lovely food
M.
Was here for my sister's wedding during covid and the staff were extremely professional and followed all covid restrictions but still made the wedding feel special. The food was amazing too. It was a small wedding but it was a great day. We had to be out by 10 and they let us come back in the morning to tidy up.
J. H.
Very nice food and drinks, but quite pricey overall. Service generally good but very slow.
M. D.
We stopped in for a wee dram and sticky toffee pudding and TBH it was life changing. The sticky toffee pudding was deeply caramelized and delicious. And the whiskey was great too obviously. The staff were nice to us even though we didn't have a full dinner. We should have ordered the food though because everyone else's tables looked amazing. A great place indeed.
A. B.
I have been to the Bothy a couple of times over the years, mostly for work dinner as it is very spacious and it can easily accommodate large groups. I thing their party menu is also really good and although they do try to accommodate for vegetarians they don't have vegan options. The staff have always been nice and the atmosphere of the place is really good, a very cozy, tartan aesthetic.
K. M.
Great place for tasty and fresh Scottish food. The menu caters for every preference. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. Wine list is fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
P. R.
Superb food, service and decent price. Was a bit concerned about portion sizes after reading some reviews but they were just right. Haggis starter and beef Wellington were excellent, service was prompt, friendly and attentive and everything came at just the right time. I’m often a bit underwhelmed when eating out in Glasgow but would highly recommend this place and will definitely go back.
K. W.
Lovely place to eat, food very good staff are attentive and professional.
G. D.
Took my Mum here for her birthday and received brilliant service. Nice menu, friendly staff, food well cooked and good wine selection. Excellent ambience, relaxed and comfortable. A stones throw from Byres road yet secluded enough to keep out the riff raff. Highly recommended and will book again.
t. t.
A welcoming atmosphere, 6 of us were seated at the table right at the end of the room which felt really homely. With hearty Scottish classics on the menu and it's hard to go wrong when done well. I had the scallops with ham hock for starters and fish and chips for my main.
j. p.
Lovely restaurant. Reasoble price and good quality locally sourced food. The menu does not change that frequently yet I have had many wonderful evenings here.
The staff are always friendly and attentive yet on the informal side.
It should feel a little cheesy with the Scottish theme and tartan wearing servers yet I've always felt they have managed to navigate that quagmire quite well.
We went here for a "cheap bit fancy" meal as student around 20 pounds a head with minimal drinks set meal etc. We also have had fancy meals with chilled bottles of champagne on arrival for a birthday and spent quite a bit more. It works for both.
(Also nice place for a quiet brunch or for mid-afternoon coffee.and cake)
I. R.
Excellent meal and service. Fixed price menu terrific value
D. S.
Fine modern Scottish dining. Was there for a business dinner with Belgian guests, who enjoyed the local seafood and fish. Also nice to see a carefully selected quality malt whisky list. Worth a visit
C. D.
This is hubby and my second visit to The Bothy. We came first for out second wedding anniversary and loved it. Our second visit didn't disappoint. Lovely food and friendly staff. Love that they all wear kilts too!!
J. B.
Fabulous food and wonderful setting .A 60th birthday upstairs , service was excellent.
S.
Lovely meal with our Chinese friends who were visiting from Hong Kong.
Disappointed to be told that there were no scallops or crab cakes left on menu at 7.20pm.
Dessert menu cards looked tired and well used. Replacements would not go amiss.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.
B. C. E.
A hidden place. Would have never guessed to continue walking down Ruthven Ln. Staff wears indeed kilts which is a nice touch. Food is nicely decorated. Magnificent interior and resulting ambience. Desserts around £5 or £6. Main dish starting mostly around £14. We were a group of 12 and staff managed well. Might return for another visit.
f. r.
Terrine, pork belly and sticky toffee; succulent but starter poorly presented. (Pork belly pictured)
W. P.
AMAZING! 10/10
Super relaxed atmosphere with amazing food.
Cocktails were great aswell.
E. B.
Great food, great service and so reasonably priced. First visit but will definitely be back
A. A.
Food was delicious, staff attentive and friendly. And of course everyone is in a kilt!
T. W.
Traditional Scottish food in the heart of the West End. This should have been brilliant but I came away from the experience slightly underwhelmed.
Service is excellent, decor is lovely and food is pretty good. Seems a little pricey for what was on offer, especially with regards to the drinks menu. Soup was excellent, but the black pudding starter really wasn't great. Lamb and chicken mains were very nice, but desserts fell a bit flat again. Kilted staff also strikes me as slightly cheesy, but I guess it fits the theme.
I'd visit here again as I can't help but feel I didn't catch this place at its best, but off this single experience there are better options in the nearby area.
S. M.
Beautiful restaurant with fantastic food, even offered me an off menu dessert option to accommodate a food intolerance.
d. j.
Great food and staff brilliant
V. M. (.
Food was okay. Starters ordered when it was almost empty and they were great but mains let it down.
Ordered steak and it came med-well done instead of med-rare. One plate was sent back to be heated up as it had gone cold by the time it got to us, the other had lukewarm veg. Espresso martini was spot on though.
Kitchen obviously has some timing issues.
G. P.
Fantastic wait staff and a nice room. I just wasn't very excited by the menu. The food was in a word - fine. The kitchen might need a little prodding. The couple who introduced me admitted they were more impressed on a previous visit.
L. S.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff were excellent and the food was delicious.
B. C.
Excellent restaurant with congenial atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Menu varied and of very high standard. Really worth a visit. Try it and I'll bet you will return
M. A. (.
Brought visiting colleagues from across the globe to eat here and they didn't disappoint! From the quality of the food, to the kindness of the servers accepting that we wanted to have everything brought out for sharing we had a fabulous night!
V. R.
We have enjoyed many visits to The Bothy, and this evening as a group of 12, we were as pleased ad ever. Excellent food, cosy and comfy surrodings, friendly efficient staff. A pleasure to spend time with our Italian visitors in such a fine restaurant.
M. M.
Great food and fantastic set course menu at lunch which is great value.
M. M.
Delicious food, very good atmosphere, nice, helpfull and friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!! Very satisfied 😌
R. Y.
ah the Bothy. I don't go often, I like to save it for special occasions, but every time I do I'm reminded of the absolute class of the place. The staff are always very polite and always in kilt order which is a nice authentic touch and adds to the feel and ambiance of it all, the food is always sourced from Scottish rivers and farms and always packs a stunning amount of flavour, it's a little bit pricey but it's to be expected for the quality of food you get. Put shortly if you've not been, GO!!!
J. M.
A great restauran, un the middle of the west end. Very good service and fantastic food
P. S.
Typical high-class resort hotel. Good rooms if expensive. Good restaurant with buffet style meals (bit on the expensive side for lunch and dinner). Direct access to beach and Dead Sea floating! Towels at the beach. Pools in hotel as well as spa.
M. G.
Had a great day on Saturday good food, good beer but the pudding was tremendous
M. V.
A lovely environment with cute staff in Scottish attire is the start of an always lovely meal. My family and I always come to this restaurant when we are in a celebratory mood. It is a sophisticated Scottish food restaurant I completely recommend.
J. F.
An outstanding restaurant. Fresh, innovative food with a distinctly Scottish flavour. Staff are always a pleasure and arikena food balance between attentive and intrusive. Family friendly and food deals make for a regular haunt for us. Greedy coffee is highly recommended.
j. c.
Well designed menu offers variety of very tempting dishes all expertly prepared.
Relaxing ambience and comfort seating allowed us a three hour and superb lunch.
J. C.
The food here was delicious. The service was fantastic! It was definitely worth going! The appetizers, main courses and desserts are definitely worth another visit so I can try more items on the menu.

Bothy Restaurant
3 Jan 2018
Lovely little lunch.
Hidden little restruant off the busy Byres Road. We decided to have a lunch at the Bothy as we had heard good things. We entered to clean crisp decor, greeted by gentleman in a kilt. classy. it's slightly dark and feels cosy and welcoming, the server had good humour which made us feel settled. we where shown to our table quickly and given all needed information about the menu and what was available for this lunchtime. Drinks where offered and brought out very promptly. We didn't feel pressured into picking quickly. We ordered from the lunch and À la carte menu to try and experience a selection of the food available. We wanted our food all out together but waitress advised it was better and quicker to split the order so all food would come out when it was ready which was very helpful and something we had never been offered before so really would speed up the process if you are in a rush. The drinks came and they gave us a water for the table which I feel is a must for any restaurant. We ordered coffee and apple juice as well. The Americano was good wasn't bitter and came at the right temperature and with lovely piece of tablet. Our starters where Cullen skink and haggis bon bons. The bon bons were nice little small but nice and being from lunch menu I guess small makes sense. The whisky sauce was little to heavy on the cream and very watery so felt less like whisky sauce more like a side soup. The Cullen skink was enjoyable and had a lovely selection of fish through it not too heavy on the cream. After we where finished dishes were cleared and we waited for our mains. Our mains were steak burger and lamb chop. The burger was juicy and came with a special burger sauce. The coleslaw was nice and well prepared and handcut chips where little bit more like potatoes as they were quite thick, but nice none the less. The pork chop I had asked for jus on the side this came correct but I must say the jus is needed as the pork chop was little dry and tough but tasted nice, for me the mustard mash was a little too spicy but I am very sensitive to this, the selection of veg with garlic was lovely and the stuffing, although I was unsure if I'd like it was the best bit. After finishing our food, we asked for the bill, which like everything else was delivered very quickly. The waitress gave us 20% off as we'd had to wait longer as chef had forgot to put jus on the side. We didn't notice the wait but we're grateful for the reduction and honesty. I feel we would eat here again but only by ourselves without the children like we had done today. I wouldn't recommend for young or autistic children personally. I'd say Bothy's is very much an adult eatery.
v. d.
Really great food and atmosphere, with kilted staff, a great menu, and good service from start to finish. Basically opposite Hillhead Subway, ideal for visitors and locals alike. Best experience on a four day visit.
D. B.
Fantastic food, great staff and reasonable prices in a great setting.
S. O.
I was torn between a 4 and 3 star rating. Feel this venue is much better for lunch and dinner than brunch. My husband ordered the poached egg and avocado without the egg (I know) and ended up with a lovely slice of toast with a fairly thin topping of avocado. The least the could have done was cover the toast. I did have eggs, scrambled, but these were overdone. Good portion sizes.
M. L.
Nice little restaurant hidden away from the main street. Good selection of food, including some Scottish dishes. Also, good selection of wines. Price was reasonable. Overall, a great restaurant, which I would definitely visit again.
S. K.
Love The Bothy! We dropped by on a rainy weekday afternoon, and receives a warm welcome in the cosiest of surroundings. They offer a range of Scottish fayre for all pockets and the food is always outstanding.
S. L.
Great restaurant and kilted staff too. Just don't bother with the crab cakes - no crab in them, just potato. Great haggis dish though and a vegetarian option too
C. P.
Great food and good service. Food was excellent, best chips ever.

Food is excellent. Very well presented and tasted amazing. Fantastic flavours and textures. Staff were suitably attentive. Great ambiance and eclectic decor.
J. H.
Nice food, nice atmosphere, good staff. However, brought in a visitor from India who was really keen to try haggis. We went for the haggis, potatoes and neeps starter. Served as a small tower with plenty of sauce, plenty of potato, plenty of turnip and a tiny tiny ... tiniest ever...slither of haggis at the bottom of the tower. Waver thin haggis. Nothing even like as thick as in the picture posted by another contributor in her Google Review photo for this restaurant. Hmmm...could have been better folks.
F. D.
Great quality food in a friendly atmosphere.
Attentive service from all the staff. All at a reasonable price.
J. M.

Brilliant Sunday roast, especially the roast beef and Yorkshire puds! Warm, cosy, friendly. Fantastic for families and couples alike.
M. G.
Great place for a family meal. I like the Scottish theme and Scottish beers. Unfortunately they don't have any Scottish cider which is a pity because it is very good.

The BEST FOOD in the West End..
R. W.
Good Scottish themed food at very fair prices in relaxed surroundings with helpful staff. Just a few minutes walk from Hillhead underground station and the big carpark behind Ashton Lane so easily accessible.
Y. S.
I had my first Cullen Skink there. It was a tremendous experience. I was a bit surprised by the presentation of their haggis but it was great. Booking your seat in advance might be a smart move.
S. V.
Great food, amazing service and really good atmosphere. Cheap as chips! The best was the server with the traditional scottish skirt! Will definitely come back!
M. M.
As always, amazing food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere which made for fantastic evening all round. Big thanks to all uninvolved. Have a great Christmas! 🎅

Was there for lunch, excellent varied menu, friendly staff and nice to find a place that allows some space between tables so you can actually have a conversation with your fellow diners.
T. B.
Very friendly and helpful service. The food just excellent, all in really nice surroundings. Best of the West End!
E. F.
Living in the West End I am surrounded by many wonderful restaurants worth exploring. Time and time again though I return to the bothy and every time has been great. A relaxing lunch (outside in the summer) or a cosy dinner in the candlelit restaurant never disappoints. The haggis pakora with a creamy whisky sauce has to be tasted accompanied by pretty much any main. Sticky toffee pudding fans, you can't go wrong!
A. O.
Nice food and a great service.
C. W.
We held our wedding in the private dinning room in January a very small relaxed wedding it was amazing .staff very attentive without being intrusive .room.decor.table the full package could not fault a thing.compliments to the chef and kitchen staff for our meal it l was beautifully presented and a delight to eat .

The bothy is a gem and the staff are always lovely friendly and professional. Hopefully a few more vegan options will be available. Highly recommend.
I. A.
Extremely good food, I'm told the menu changes often to take advantage of seasonal specials and I thought the prices were pretty reasonable considering the quality of the food.
D. C.
Great food and atmosphere, limited menu.
D. N. R.
This is an excellent restaurant and has maintained a high standard over many years. Top marks to owners and all the staff!
n. r.
recently visited and as a vegetarian I do not expect an overwhelming menu ,but the options available were extremely poor and the risotto I was given would have fed a small nation , just to let you know, that eating a large bowl of the same food, which was very bland, does not make up for a good variety of decent food on a plate, I'm sure your chefs can be more creative. I do like your veggie haggies neeps and tatties very much, could this be a main course.
M. C.
Excellent food, lovely staff, friendly atmosphere.
S. E.
Lovely food. Cosy atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Good veggie and GF options too 👍

Very Scottish in decor, waitresses in kilts. Food nice but some was unexpectedly nouveau quisine, some not, but no warning of this on the menu
A. O.
Food is fine, nothing impressive. But be warned they'll charge you $8 for a few slices of crap bread if you ask for it with your smoked salmon. And not tell you.
G. C.

ah the Bothy. I don't go often, I like to save it for special occasions, but every time I do I'm reminded of the absolute class of the place. The staff are always very polite and always in kilt order which is a nice authentic touch and adds …
V. M. (.
Food was okay. Starters ordered when it was almost empty and they were great but mains let it down.
Ordered steak and it came med-well done instead of med-rare. One plate was sent …
