Reviews of Cafe Alba

An unassuming cafe that turned out to be a very competent and tasty place to stop.
Staff were very efficient, food arrived very fast and on hot plates. Nice seats in a clean and well run place. All the food was of a high quality with what appears to be well choosen and high quality stuff.
Meat appears to be the good stuff and even the cake was obviously well made with good ingredients.
For a cafe this is very good. Nothing what do ever to say negative.

Went here today for lunch and it was wonderful! Easily got a table and staff were so friendly and helpful. The food is a little pricey but well worth it. Will definitely be back!

When this place first opened everytime for years I thought of sitting in I was overwhelmed with anxiety by the indifferent, sutle racist staring I got from a lot of the white people sitting here. As a victim of vicious racisum in this very depressing very bigoted town I try to avoid places that don't have a single coloured person in them.
Once I sat in and did not feel comfortable as the white folk kept looking at my every move. I would always just get a take out.
One day I finally got the courage to sit in as it was not too busy.
I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, the fresh delicious food which I already knew they did from taking out. I would definitely come again but a bit pricy on some favourite dishes.
Cafe Alba is the only decent place that offers such a wide range of traditional british food.
Pity Cumbernauld people from generation to generation have not changed from the day this totally anitsocial very judgemental and ignorant town was built.

Come here for breakfast every time we go on holiday in Scotland. Just a couple of minutes of the motorway. Located inside the shopping centre, is much better than what you would normally expect. Friendly and helpful staff, good food, clean and bright. Reasonably priced. The standards are as good year to year.

Food is always good with vegetarian options including veggie breakfast and the coffee is good. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Best to come early or book ahead for busy times.

My wife and I have just had lunch in the Cumbernauld restaurant and as usual it was great. The young staff are great in here helped by the senior members and all of them could work in any of the top class restaurant in the country. I was a dining room steward for 4 years in the Merchant Navy and I know great service when I see it.

Amazing breakfast. Highly recommended to try Loren sausage and haggis doubler.

Arriving at the Cafe I was met by a pleasant assistant who took me to a nearby prepared table. Shortly afterwards the assistant returned with their menu, my food requirements were taken, and then it was straight to the kitchen with my order. A few minutes later my food arrived, looking very appetising. It was pleasantly hot, tasty and freshly made. I had plenty of room either side of me to enjoy eating the food, and the table area sufficient to lay out my food plate, teapot, cup and saucer with room to spare. Prices were reasonable, the food was freshly made, arrived quickly and served up hot by pleasant staff.
