Went for lunch and arrived just as they had lost power. Got seated, ordered drinks and power was back reasonably quickly. I tried the steak pie, my wife had the "Chicken Milanese". The steak pie was ok but a bit tasteless. Make sure you read the description for the Chicken, it's a different style of Milanese than we have had before. It was tasty though. Service was just ok, we struggled a bit to get the attention of the waitress to order desert and had a wait for the bill. Overall it was ok but has a bit to go to get five stars.

First time in the Blantyre Carrigans, been to the other two and I've never had a bad meal. The staff here were excellent and the food was simply amazing. I'd recommend anyone to get to Carrigans to experience the great food and friendly atmosphere that is provided.

Second time coming to this restaurant. Went with family and they all got steak pie and fish and chips, they all cleared their plates, the portions were huge and freshly made. I had Gambas Al Ajillo which was lovely, they made my portion bigger as I was having it as a main instead of starter. We also had dessert which was out of this world, also huge! On top of the lovely food, the service is exceptional. Will need to bring my own wee family along for a meal so thank you Carrigans!

The food is always great. On this occasion it was the first outing I'd had in over a week due to a bulging disc in my back pressing on a nerve. I was only able to sit for short periods of time. We were sat at a half circle table, which was so comfortable for me to slightly lie to be comfy. The staff seen this and brought me pillows to help me be as a comfortable as possible. It's these little touches that make this a fantastic venue. The staff couldn't be more helpful!

60th birthday celebration with a family meal. we were not disappointed. the servers were polite and seemed very happy and answered any questions willingly. the food was off the scale. Big portions of very well cooked and very tasty food. I had the prawn cocktail to start which was delicious. then I had the Lamb shank which fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. This came with carrot, greenbeans and broccoli and a portion of Calcannon which had the best mash potato I have ever tasted in my life. Great night. can't wait to come back

Carrigans fitted us in for an hour on valentines day even though we hadn't booked and they had full bookings. The food was excellent and my husband had the small roast beef dinner which was still a very big plateful. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Will definitely be back soon.

You can't go wrong with Carrigan's if you are looking for great food served in a great pub / restaurant. The mains portions are always very generous , and that goes for the starters as well . Plenty of great choices on bar and restaurant menus . Now doing a lunch for £4.95, can't complain at that price. Carrigan's is now part of the fabric of Blantyre, and it's always a pleasure to pay it a visit .

Was a regular for lunch timer which with lunch menu was always mixed and exciting choices. Obviously pandemic changed that they now do mainly Al Carte apart from limited light lunch. Takes such a short time to cook in oven really disappointed. £60 for lunch x 2 a bit much think will give it a miss

The meai was really nice but not as good as Hamilton branch .Went back to Blantyre to give it another chance and guess what 18.30 no sirloin steak/no lamb shank/no sweet of the day .This is the third time we have been and the meals you have picked before you go are not available. Service was good apart from one girl with Eastern European accent she was very brash.The sweets have more than halved in portions and my apple crumble was poor. Really like carrigans but will be giving Blantyre a miss from now on .

Because it is during the busy Christmas period, they managed to squeeze in the additional bodies at an adjoining table. The service was good and our particular server was very attentive and friendly. The surroundings were very agreeable in this week restaurants location. The food was very enjoyable and the portions were perfect. In all, we had a delightful experience and will have no issues returning on another occasion.

I was part of a funeral party which attended Carrigan's for the reception afterwards. This was clearly a sombre occasion but, on meeting the owner John, it was clear from the offset we were in good hands. The premises adhered to covid-19 good practice throughout. Our party numbered @ 50-60 guests. The function suite was superb and came with bar, food servery and very competent staff. The food itself comprised of delicious buffet items, both hot and cold... and plentiful. John and his team were absolutely adept at being right there when needed, and their prescence undoubtedly helped lift the day. Thank you for that Mr Carrigan. I would highly recommend Carrigan's Blantyre.

So first time in here, starts off with a friendly approach and a smile from all staff even though we weren't booked in, got table and it got better from there, sat down ordered drinks after getting asked straight away not like any other restaurant where you have a to wait 5 mins before they ask you. Then comes the let's just say the best waiter I have ever encountered who was full of enthusiasm and drive who had a lot of passion for his job. Food was out in the space of 10 mins after ordering starter then about 10 minutes of finishing starter main meals where out, if you're going anywhere for a meal with either friends or family definitely visit this place I have left a happy chap with a full belly 😊 thanks guys.

Lovely building and surroundings, very pleasant staff. Service was fine, was shown to our table right away and didn't wait too long to order or for our food. The only fly in the ointment in regards to service was that we waited just a bit of a while for our drinks orders to arrive. Food was good quality but unfortunately i didn't enjoy my dish so much. Calzone pizza filled with (as described) chili beef, pepperoni and mozzarella. I may have been niave but, i expected actual small bits of beef flavoured with chillies. Instead it was a calzone filled with chilli con carne, kidney beans, some peperoni and a single blob of mozarella in the middle and the middle only. Not for me I'm afraid, I'd rather have my chili con carne with done rice. The mushroom starter was a bit over done too. I would return and try something else in all honesty. It was decent enough quality over all but that calzone...

While visting hamilton. I went into asda blantyre for shopping and I asked a lady in till about where I can have some delicious food. She told me carrigan's, high blantyre. Go their and enjoy your meal. So I thought, why not and went for it. To my surprise, I could not believe such a posh restaurant in a small town like blantyre. Staff, cant praise them more. Very friendly and so polite to you. I just walked in late at 8 pm without a booking. Still they where happy to welcome me. Wow, I thought myself. Because I was late I couldn't got a chance to order the roast. But i ordered southern fried chicken, and Mrs ordered beef lasagne and for starters potato skins. We both were very pleased with tasty meals . Big portion, and very nice interior setup. Now , if anyone ask me to recommend a nice place to have meal in blantyre. Without a second thought I 'll say carrigan's. Just like the lady from asda recommend it to me . Don't miss it if your anywhere near hamilton. Thank you carrigan' s and staff lot. I 'll be returning for a meal when ever I am in blantyre. All the best and keep it the same.

Hadnt been in this place for 20 years. It was like having an outa Blantyre experience. The place is absolutely beatiful inside, as good as any restaurant ive been in. Ordered steak pie, i love steak pie but always a gamble as sometimes you eat it you're chewing every mouthful for 5 minutes as the meets tough. It was cooked to perfection. Waitress recommended chips rather than potatoes and said they were lovely, sure enough they were lovely. Portions could feed a small army but you can get a cheaper smaller dish if you prefer, i had the full portion even though i didn't feel particularly hungry, i demolished the lot. I didn't have a starter but couldn't possibly have eaten a sweet. Maybe they could make their main portions a little smaller and they would make more money on sweets. The staff were lovely, couldn't have been more attentive. I was visiting from Cheshire and i will definitely be back. My only complaint, if i could call it that, it was quite cold but to be fair, it was a really cold day and it was busy so assuming they get really busy on a Sunday, maybe id be complaining it was too warm if i'd arrived 2 hours later. I do eat regularly in the area as i have immediate family in Blantyre but Carrigans is by far the best in a 10 mile radius. I'll be back.
