Reviews of Clutha & Victoria Bar
J. G.
Great bar for relaxing in the afternoon sun either in the beer garden or out front to watch the sun go down. In the evenings the atmosphere is very chilled with fantastic live music playing. The staff are excellent, we were in Glasgow on a 2 night break and were staying across the road in the Holiday Inn Express. We will definitely be returning to Clutha & Victoria bar wherever we are staying when in Glasgow from now on.
D. H.
Great local pub, local music where you are invited to play and sing. Beer garden. outside seating good fun.
C. P.
Beautiful bar. Would definitely go again. Great food too and the pizza is definitely recommended. Good range of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. Staff were polite and pleasant. And the live music entertainment was wonderful too.
P. C.
Very laid back atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff and very amenable setting. Great place to stop off for a beer (or two!!!) and a pizza. Not the cheapest in today's world but good value for money.
R. J.

Excellent local pub. Selection of craft draft beer available. Live music different bands, always packed on friday-sat evening. 2 bars outside seating area available. Not very clean and service can be improved, however the atmosphere is great and that beats it. Suits for a great pint of beer night out. Well recommended, check out for yourself

Just popped in for a pint before getting train home.
Great pub, friendly staff and wish I had longer in Glasgow so I could have stayed longer.
I will return

Clutha and Victoria bar is one of Glasgow's most fabulous bars is a proper Glasgow bar here you will meet all sorts of people form Glaswegian, bikers, Punks and steampunk.
This bar is a great place to visit to get a taste of Glasgow if you are a tourist and you will always find someone to chat to and have a good time here.
They have good music on all the time, and at the weekends they do live events with local bands, and it is a cracking venue for it because it's quite compact, so you feel part of the experience.
This pub has tables outside at the front and rear. At the back is an excellent place to a smoking and a drink because you're quite sheltered.
The food and drink
The food is delicious in this place, the service is quick, and everything freshly prepared. I enjoy your nachos and pizza. Nachos have such a complex flavour it is unbelievable can't explain it just yummy, and they have a great variety of amazing pizzas. It is suitable for vegetarians too.
The drinks are very reasonable price with a great variety of drinks to choose from.
Accessibility
There is no real problem with accessibility into this bar and around if you use a wheelchair. The only thing you have to be aware of is when you're in the downstairs part of the bar you need to go round the outside to get to the accessible toilet. They have a perfectly adequate disabled toilet with plenty of transfer room.
The staff
The staff in this bar are incredibly friendly and always happy to see you. They have been accommodating with my needs when I am here.
Also, they go above and beyond with customer service. I was here one night I watched one of the staff members helped an older gentleman who was struggling to walk to get a taxi and got him into the cab.
Brilliant staff.
I would highly recommend you go here for a night out when they have live music on you will have a great time.
A. M.
The pizza's in this place is by far one of the best tasting pizzas I ever had. Highly recommended. I would have given it 5 starts but it was pretty chilli inside so jackets stayed on
K. W.

I. K.
Great staff and great food and service. If it were any better than its current high standard it would rate as excellent. Four ****s is very good and will continue to go there and I highly recommend the Clutha to lovers and friends all.
C. K.
Resurrected after the helicopter crash, it is now a great open and light area with music most nights. Also two outdoor beer gardens when the sun shines.
P. I.
The Gerihatricks visited this pub yesterday while training for over 65s walking football tournament the Scottish cup on Saturday .Great pub but unfortunately the staff a bit grim faced.
k. s.
Great pub for live bands.
A. S.

Sat out in front during the hot weather.could off had umbrella on tables for a wee shade. To keep drinks cool. Reasonable priced.
B. R.
Staff are friendly and working hard to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit adhering to enhanced hygiene and social distancing guidlines. We made use of both the outdoor and indoor spaces. Lunch and drinks that could easily turn into dinner and drinks. All reasonably priced and incredibly moreish. See you soon.
A. G.
I love visiting Clutha, it's so full of character and lots of interesting people. Always seems to have good performers too.
f. k.

T. R.
Great lunch there
Brill atmosphere
M. M.
I've not been in the Clutha for years but it's still amazing.
D. M.
This is one of the top live music venues in the city. We went on a Wednesday night, which is open mike night, and the acts were excellent and varied. Great selection of beers and drinks - prices average for town centre. Well worth a visit.
F. B.
Great wee night band was gd
C. D.
Great bar highly recommend a visit . brilliant music venue and bar staff friendly.can vape inside pub.
G. G.
Great atmosphere, good barmen and women. Decent food and very well priced. What's not to like.
J. L.
Good beer friendly staff. And still great live music.
A. W.
There was a band on when I was here here they were not of the highest standard but definitely listenable. The audience however were exceptional, really enthusiastic and certainly enjoying themselves and probably not one of them under 50 years old, kudos to them. It's the first time I've been here and the surprise was the tree growing in the middle of the bar giving it a Hobbiton feel. The service was good, no complaints.
J. P.
I went there a bit early and had a lunch. Very good value for money and good pub food. Went with the kids and they enjoyed their food too. In the evening there is live music once a week and a nice outdoor area. Really good atmosphere and location. Made some good friends there and hope to visit again!
J. T.
Fantastic day out in clutha bar brilliant band the Black Triangles Eddie you and the band made our day. Bar staff work there socks off. Clientele mixed age group but friendliest people. Really recommend this bar. The piper who played with the band near the end of the set was great👌😊😊
R. H.
Good atmosphere and pizza.
F. R.
Love the new menu. Staff great. Only thing that let's it down is tables are not cleaned in between customers. After being in an hour none of the tables were wiped, looked dirty, and there was a change of customer. Candles and menus put on the dirty tables. Great for music.
J. H.
Had a great time visiting this bar after flying up to Glasgow to see a mate who lives there. Loved the eccentric locals, particularly Kevin, whilst sitting outside by the river and, later in the evening, listening to live music indoors. Recommend a visit if you don't know Glasgow very well.
J. S.
This is our favourite place in Glasgow. The food is great! There's a basic menu although the chefs are amazing and will negotiate what you fancy. Best pizzas in town. They turn basic pub food into something amazing. We're never disappointed! Our family have had many a celebratory dinner and a drink here, I'm fact we spend our wages in here, think we must part own this place by now lol. Brilliant staff, food and great bands. Roll on another weekend at the Clutha/Vicky Bar. Love Jackie & Angie xx
N. B.
Visited Clutha for first time just a week before Christmas and enjoyed a"bargain lunch". Deep fried mushroom starter and fish and chip main course for only £7.00. It was an unexpectedly good meal. Surroundings a wee bit spartan and not terribly warm but we had a warm welcome from the staff.
Check it out if you are in the area - you will be pleasantly surprised.
B. N.
Great atmosphere. Such a wonderful bar with great music and very kind people. They have a live tree growing in the center and it goes through the roof. Many famous people performed here and it is also well known because of an tragic accident when police helicopter malfunctioned and fell on to the Clutha while it was full of people.
K. “. w. a. d. M.
If you don't know the Clutha, you haven't been in Glasgow. If your visiting Glasgow and haven't been in the Clutha, you've missed a big part of Glasgow that tells you what Glasgow life is. The Clutha is Glasgow.
N. C.
Have to get to this place if you are ever in Glasgow, the building it's self it's intriguing and they often have live rock and indie bands on, the decor is awesome and everyone was having a good time! And I had a lovely pilsner there and they had an extra bar outside result !
d. f.
Great atmosphere n friendly staff
A. M.
Good music, great staff, good crowd and awesome regulars!! Food's really good and generously priced. Some drinks are a bit overpriced but for the city centre and free music no one should be complaining!!
Keep on rockin in the free world!! 👍
J. T.
Excellent venue with a huge tree in the middle of the atrium leading up through the skylight! Coolest thing I've ever seen in a pub. Great music and a nice beer garden too.
J. M.
Nice seating out front. Not a good beer selection.
D. G.
Brilliant service, served very quickly even though it was very busy ( before Scotland game). Food was great.
A. F.
Had a fantastic day on Friday with all the oldies . We bought our dinner which was £5.00 for a two course yes a two course meal. Then later we were offered free boxed pizza and chips ,what a place great atmosphere. X
K.
Historical and popular Glasgow bar devastated by helicopter crash, still only beer garden and terrace available but still very busy at weekend. Bar staff very busy and good live music so worth at least a short visit.
D. M.
Very reasonable prices. Good food. Nice range of beers. Excellent live music. Very busy Fri afternoon leading to staff struggling to met demand, but trying well.
B. F.
Very cool bar to visit, we had the fish and chips and it was delicious. They had a tree in the middle that they built the pub around. My only complaint was that the music was a little to loud, Im a young 30 year old and my ears could hardly take it.
P.
Great place. Legendary, you come to Glasgow you have a drink in here. End of.
M. E.
I'm afraid it is just ok. I'm afraid the makeover since the incident does not work for me. Nice bar folk but, worked off there feet. So, slow service, the tables are too big which makes it difficult to manoeuvre around. The outside decoration were never a good idea but, now they look awful and I would imagine put folk off going in. Sorry for being so critical but, the Clutha used to be my 'local"! These words do not apply to the Victoria which appear good.
K. M.
Amazing food and even better service. Offer at moment is £5 for two course lunch and this is amazing value for the quality if the food. I had vegetable crostini to start and mince and tatties for my main, both amazing. Must admit though, I like a glass of milk with my mince and tatties and when asked if I could buy a glass, the lovely barman told me no need, he would simply give me glass. Service like that might see them pennies out of pocket but will guarantee I'll be back spending more money with them. The actual heart of Glasgow. Amazing stuff.
H. F.
The Clutha does a great £5 lunch deal. It's basic pub grub but done fresh and to a decent standard. There's a good selection of beer, and lots of live music and entertainment. Beer garden/yard at the back is a bonus for a rare sunny day!
S. B.
Great band good food and brilliant atmosphere.
J. F.
Wow......the food is outstanding I can't recommend this pub enough......
D. M.
Loved the place when they played live music, will be defo going again .
J. B.
Nice historic bar, friendly staff and good beer.
C. S.
An interesting pub (not many can claim to have a tree in the middle of the bar) with a decent drink selection. Service was a bit slow (only one person behind the bar when we were there) and it's not that warm inside.
S. G.
Good food staff friendly
A bit out off way to city centre but worth a visit
O. T.
Great pizza and beer
J. M. (.
The best free live music venue in Glasgow. Friendly atmosphere, great range of beers, wines and spirits, real coal fires and a large beer garden, shared with sister pub, the superb Victoria Bistro, which has an excellent menu on offer. Far superior to any pub in the nearby, pricier, Merchant City district. The bands are always great too!
T. K.
Super night watching Skaladonia with friends.... Tam
i. o.
Fab! Love the black triangle's!!! Best pub in Glasgow!!!!
B. A.
This is a great wee Glasgow bar. It's always full of real characters and if you're after banter you won't go far wrong here. Visit at the weekend for a party atmosphere and excellent live music.
R. H.
Great venue, l8ve music, decent pub grub
N. B. (. J.
Very small, hard pushed for a seat if you don't get there quick, but great atmosphere. Saw Heavy Load band here and it was a fun night.
P. W.
There's just something nice about this place, I love going there when I visit Glasgow.
J. T.
Great bar. Definitely worth checking out. Open mic night was on when I visited. Made to feel welcome from the locals and staff. Will definitely be back
A. a.
Had really good nite , the band's were all great , a mixture of young and older and the pizza's were brilliant certainly go back again xx
A. B.
I'm impressed by the good service and atmosphere. Was at a party a couple of nights ago, I don't remember the name of the live band but they were truly amazing. Great artists!
T. S.
A time to reflect on those that were lost...and have a 🍺 great welcome and staff.👍
a. h.
Great atmosphere and brilliant crowd and real great rock band. The Jimmy woods band. Great prices for pizza 2 for 1 deals
S. A.
Can be lively , between 6 and 8 , hit and miss with bands , but usually very good .
Bar staff a bit under pressure , peak times .
Good atmosphere , happy mingling , be early if you need a seat !
m. j.
It's Friday night, the weekend's here

A well known east end pub, before it,s recent tragic history ( police helicopter crashing through roof)Scottish folk singing fraternity played there in the 60/ 70s.
R. M.
Nice clean bar with unusual undercover area out back, wasn't there for music but apparently its well worth a look. Quite small though so not masses of seating.
W. J.
Great music venue, decent choice of beers reasonably priced, friendly staff and locals highly recommend a visit.

Words cannot express my sadness at the effects that continue to ripple out following the events of the 29 November. Thoughts and prayers are with those that attended the scene, those that continue to work there in the recovery stage now and the families still waiting for news.

Great pub. Love the pizzas
F. Y.
For the price the lunch is good. Had the steak burger with bacon and cheese (a must). Portion size isn't massive which for lunch isn't necessarily a bad thing, nothing special but done well, meat was fresh and cooked correctly. A ciabatta roll with a steak burger shows some thought, not just a cheap bit of meat served on a roll. Great atmosphere and nice design to the place. £7.50 for the burger with cheese and bacon which is a great price, friends also had the £5 lunch meal with the crostini starter and chicken with peppercorn sauce main. All gave good reports and with a £5 price tag, absolutely nothing to complain about! Overall had better and worse but this falls in the right side of everything.
