Tasty food and absolutely lovely staff! Just wish they had some healthy options, it’s all pretty much comfort food. Also a little bit of a strange concept - inside is like a dated Italian restaurant and has table service but multiple kitchens serving food from all over the world? Highly recommend the szechuan cauliflower - a naughty but delicious vegetable!

Visited for the all you can eat sushi deal in January.
The food was all really tasty and the staff were all helpful when needed.
Would absolutely return

Went here just before Christmas and was very impressed with the staff and quality of food. I went for the chicken ramen which was absolutely delicious. There are 5 or 6 different outlets to select food from with orders going through an app so plenty options when in a bigger group.
The only negative I would say is that the indoor seating feels a little outdated which I was surprised about but all good otherwise.
R. D.
Great venue. Nice staff. Great food and quick service. Big enough menu with a nice variety
J. S.
Interesting concept. Order everything via app and it comes out when it does. The desserts were amazing and the Bao bun (katsu curry) was the first time I had it and wish we would have gotten just that. Chicken satay was not very good and we left it. Please book as that seems to a must. The outside area has heaters we saw as we were leaving.

Came here before a show and we sat upstairs and the atmosphere was amazing. The food was also amazing - you can choose from so many options on the menu from lots of different types of food - Italian, Greek, japanese, Chinese etc. Would definitely recommend for the atmosphere and food.
S. L.
It was really busy when we went but the staff were lovely and doing their best to manage the crowd. Orders were backed up in the Italian kitchen so ordering from different places on the app didn't flow too well. Nevertheless the meal was lovely and we enjoyed it. Would definitely go back especially if attending a show at the hydro/secc. But will just make sure there is plenty of time before the show if its busy!
J. B.
Very friendly staff from start to finish.
Easy system in place for your food/drink orders. You are given 90 min allocation for your table. We were finished and outside in 40 min.
We chose to eat inside and at 18:00 hours and it was very busy.
Food was decent and reasonably priced.
My only criticism would be that its very loud and very warm... for me. :-)

We sat at outdoor dining area at Friday night and it was busy. There’s a car park right next to it but cost £3 for 2 hour parking, the ticket machine was broken so need to download an app to pay. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Lots food options including Chinese, Japanese, Italian and all that. Pay via the phone and the price was alright. Around £3 to £10 depends on the plate. The only annoying bit was that our first dish arrived five minutes after ordering, and the rest took 10-15 mins more, then our friends took like at least half hour more. So basically the dishes might not arrive all together and it might be a down side if you prefer to enjoy the meals until all dishes have arrived. Other than that was great night out.
A. S.
Enjoyed the food although a little pricey. You can select from a range of different restaurants. Service is quick and friendly. We have sat both inside and outside depending on weather although outside now has coverings which is great.
S. B.
Ate here whilst visiting for a show at the Hydro which is 2 mins walk away. Service was great. The pizza was one of the best I have ever tasted even in Italy. Will definitely be back next time we are in Glasgow
T. C.
Food was nice, however the restaurants on the website and the restaurants available to order from when in the venue where different. Food was nice though, but 25 minutes for a drink to arrive after ordering is a bit much.

My wife and I LOVE the restaurant Pickled Ginger on Argyle Street Glasgow. We were advised that they had relocated a limited menu to the Cranside Kitchen as part of their response to COVID 19.
FOOD
We booked and turned up not expecting to have the flexibility to choose from 3 other restaurants (Rioja, Halloumi and can't remember the other!) We stuck to our original choice and didn't regret it. ALL the food (yes, ALL OF IT) was DELICIOUS! The loaded Kimchi fries were spicy but not overly so. The katsu chicken was generous in its portion and the pumpkin Tonkatsu was also delicious. Best Salmon Sashimi we've ever had also. The best Chocolate Mochi and Baklava we've ever had!!!
AMBIANCE
We were sat by the window and upon arrival could have day outside if we wanted to. The view of the Clyde side was lovely.
PARKING
Final thing, the restaurant give you free all day parking upon arrival so that you don't need to worry about paying for a car park space. They take your vehicle registration.
NEGATIVE (ONLY 1)
My only negative is that a large soft drink is £3.50 or £2.50 for a regular soft drink. This is where most of our £10 per head eat out government discount was spent as we had 2 large soda water and limes each.
G. M.
Delightful, each kitchen delivered amazing dishes and such a diverse range of food. Recommended for groups where you can't decide what cuisine to eat. Easy and fast ordering at you table with their menu list on your phone.
J. D.
Second visit and it was better than the first. Chose from small plates menu. Great food nice staff all round highly recommended.
A. R.
Excellent location, parking a few metres away if you can't use public transport, huge number of options which change regularly, brilliant Japanese and Italian dishes, good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Can't ask for more really!
J. M.
Very nice staff quick service. Prices about what you would expect. Not cheap but not the most expensive. Amazing selection of food due to their being about 7 restaurants on the same menu.
É. B.
Unique place overlooking river Clyde, the crane and the qzirky buildings in the area. Food choice was amazing (5 different kitchens / cuisines) and everything was so delicious!
Surprisingly quick service after orders submitted via app (you need to scan the barcode on the table which takes you to the menu of drinks and food, all 5 kitchens and then your orders are put in one basket).
Very friendly and professional staff.
The reason for 4 stars only is that we couldn't figure out which dishes were for sharing (tapaslike small portions) and which were a full dish for one person. This resulted in a hilarious amount of full dishes ordered by one of us. Wasn't a problem really (we ate everything because it was utterly delicious!) but it could have been good to see some indication on the menu. Also, I don't think indoor is accessible for everyone because of the stairs but could have missed the elevator (and not sure about the outdoor part, that probably is).
Question to staff: Are paperbased menus available for those without smartphones or not so tech-savvy (e.g. older people or people with learning disabilities)?
All in all, great experience and we will definitely be back!
S. G.
Busy place with buzzy atmosphere. Service is Speedy ..... when it's busy naturally the staff are not as fast. Loved the location and menu.
L. G.
Love this place, great selection of restaurants all ordered from app. We were lucky it wasn't to busy, ordered from Japanese and Greek tapas and everything arrived at table at same time. Quality was absolutely amazing.
S. H.
Pizza was okay but Stornoway black pudding topping was doing all the work holding up a poor base. Drinks were in paper and plastic cups while nearby bars have glasses. Gin selection was poor, only two options. Underwhelming service but nice location.
J. S.
An interesting place that had five or six menus of different cuisines (eg. Italian, Greek, Thai etc) Food is okay to good but felt a little bit as though it was produced by process. Setting is a bit like a hotel restaurant and a little bland.
g.
Prices were quite steep but what else can you expect from such a classy establishment.
Good range of food and drinks.
Heaters over all the benches 👍🏽👌🏽
J. W.
Food selection has significantly reduced which was disappointing on Friday. No pizzas, no poutine and very limited choice compared to our last visit. Igloo lovely and cozy with a heater and service friendly - why only plastic cups allowed for drinks? It’s a faff of using app to view separate menus and it’s especially annoying having fill out bank details every time you want to order something.
R. P.
Such a good place to go eat. The outside area is fantastic, you can sit outside in all weather with the set up. I love that you order and pay for your food with a QR code. Really great food, an amazing selection of menus, you can order from any/all. Such a great idea!!! Will definitely be back.

I was at the comedy day on 05/07 with work friend's and had a great day. The service was fast even compared to other beer gardens in the the city. The food was lovely, I had the chicken satay and the peanut sauce was out of this world.
Would attend other functions at this venue and very much recommend.
A.
OK so the concept it great I think. The layout, seating etc etc is all very good. The reason for the 3 star review has to be the pricing. The price of the drinks is too high. £7.50 for a glass of wine or £32 for the bottle and you can buy said bottle in a shop for less than £7. That's just taking the piss. The price of the food is too high. Some of the food we ordered looked like generous portioned starters. As soon as I finished my food that I had ordered I was considering ordering something else. I decided against that and just waited till later on.
If we had been sat in a nice restaurant the price really wouldn't have bothered us but you have to remember your sitting outside in what is basically a beer garden. Considering this is a pop up beer garden in a car park the prices should reflect this. There is some absolutely great and beautiful beer gardens out there unfortunately this just isn't one of them.
L. M.
The yesterday. Food is excellent and the service quick. Like a lot of places now you view the menu and order via a QR code Web link. The menu and order system works well and looks good. The only criticism is that the dishes need better descriptions or the menu needs to make it clear if a side needs to be ordered. Our table ordered Katsu curry, but it came without rice (just a little salad). When ordering the menu only asked what sauce type and offered loaded fries. Other than that I enjoyed the visit.
Note: if it rains this venue could become is a write off. No real cover.
J. T.
An interesting combination of restaurants with large outside seating area. The choice of food is great, there's a good range of different types of cuisine so the chances are you will find something to everyones taste.
The plates vary in size massively depending on which restaurant you order from. We've found a couple of plates each is usually about right!
Drinks menu is good, lots of options, though mixers can get pricey.
Location you can't fault, extremely convenient for the hydro and close to many of the hotels.
Business customers be warned though, trying to get a VAT receipt here is like trying to get blood from a stone. As ordering is done from your phone, you get emailed a receipt, but, without a VAT number. Phoning and emailing hasnt gotten me anywhere. Asking the staff for one whilst your there is also a waste of time.
J. M.
Cranside kitchen had a really well thought out outside area and I really appreciate the effort put in to essentially make a carpark look good 😅 There are a great selection of foods to chose from and you never had to wait long to be served.
The reason they have lost a star is because of value for money on drinks - everything is overpriced for what you get - remember we are still sitting in in car park after all! My first drink was a prosecco and I don't think the "glass" was filled to its potential
Before I came here I seen a previous review that said something like "the cocktails were too strong" to which I reacted "pft, surely that's not a negative" but I was proven wrong! We got the peach iced tea cocktail and it came in a very small plastic cup (like the ones from school discos back in the day) which meant it was pretty much pure alcohol on ice. A little more effort for these drinks would be nice since you're paying a larger price for it.
A. G.
Great atmosphere, fantastic variety of food. Great use of online ordering and paying - hopefully sticks around after pandemic. Only downside was the variety of cocktails and the cost of these... quite pricey. Would loved to have seen some deals on these.
M. L.
Food was good, service was prompt. Nothing to shout about, but good atmosphere.
M. D.
I went here on a Friday evening and the hot weather helped make the atmosphere come alive. Food was great and service excellent. It was also busy, so popular, but nothing the staff couldn't handle.
Had a great time, and will definitely be going back.
J. B.
Good choice of food
R. A.
Staff friendly and helpful. Good idea offering different menus so you can have Greek, Italian, Japanese, Chinese etc. Something for everyone. Drinks quite expensive nearly £6 a pint and not a lot of choice drinkwise. Sat outside on picnic benches with overhead heaters which were needed as it was pouring and a bit windy.
h.
I loved this place for the aesthetic. However you charge FAR TOO MUCH for drinks. £5.85 for a pint of perroni is far to expensive for it not even to be served in a glass. Id recommend this place maybe if you've just been paid! Besides from the price this place was awesome. Great service.
s. r.
A good selection of food and easy to use app. My only quibble is that you have to put card details in every time you order a drink. A PayPal button or remember my card option would have made the experience slicker. But this didn't impact on the enjoyment of the experience.
G. V.
Not the best experience. Was the first beer garden I have visited after lockdown and was rather busy. Had to wait 30+ mins for some drinks. I have ordered my second drink at 9pm and didn’t have it at 9:45 still. We have asked about it and they said I would have to wait a bit longer when the place was closing in 15 mins. We asked for a refund and the owner/manager of the place said he would process the refund the same evening. We didn’t receive anything and tried contacting the place through website and phone with no luck.
M. M.
Nice place to eat and drink outdoors but not Covid safe.
We have been a few times and like this place for it's concept and atmosphere. There are several restaurants you can order from, on an app, and they will bring everything to you. The food is varied and good quality. The drinks are pricy. £5.85 for a pint of beer is a bit much imo. The staff do the minimum. Service is not great and I get the impression it is not a wonderful place to work. "Comments" when booking online seem to get ignored. We requested a seat by a heater but were seated in a cold spot, even though there were warm seats available.
The big issue for us is that they keep handling our glasses by the rim! This is unforgivable during the current pandemic. One server, we think might be the boss, picked up our drinks from above, so all five fingers touched the rim of the glass. And he never wore a mask at all. Other servers also regularly touch the rims of the glasses or touch them high up, near the rim. I think the plastic glasses are very flimsy and difficult to handle but that is no excuse. Place your tray on the table so we can help ourselves! We used alcohol gel to clean the rims but, obviously, that affects the flavour.
The staff do not follow their own one way system. There is no alcohol gel available when leaving the toilets - Important because you have to touch door handles on the way out.
E. M.
really really great if I could give them 10stars I would. the staff are friendly & professional, service was very quick and they came to check how the food was. The food itself was well presented, fresh and really tasty. if you want a fantastic meal out, I'd recommend it
D. H.
Food from the Italian restaurant was pretty good. The staff service was great as well however they did appear understaffed (lots of people clearing tables but not able to take orders, and one great member of staff run ragged serving all the tables). A good option when the weather is nice though and hopefully something that is here to stay, for summer months at least every year!
J. F.
Great service, food and atmosphere. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Bonus being able to order something from more than 1 menu. Already looking forward to our next visit!
L. P.
Food was borderline average for the price and the venue was very noisy.
E. M.
Amazing food, amazing set up, amazing staff. Can't fault it.
M.
Was good attention warm outside 👌and the pizzas so good. But the Spanish kitchen too bad. The over price for the small portions of calamari is unacceptable 😑
J. S.
We did the Greek quisine, having lived in Greece for a season, i knew what to expect, and this place smashed it. Incredible food. Slightly confusing with the QR menu to start. Very very happy with the front of house team and Bravo to the chefs
D. M.
Good food , nice out door seating, plenty space, not into ordering on a app, Miss a waitress but I guess that's the new normal
S. M.
Great atmosphere, food from @pickledginger was amazing. Staff worked well and service was fine. We had a lovely afternoon, would recommend to visit before the weather gets colder! If not I am sure will be just as good sitting inside.
I. C.
Interesting concept and it was a good experience. Food could have been better and the drinks selection was a bit limited in some areas especially decent ciders.
F. C.
Went with friends and had a great time. The place and staff are set up to adhere to social distancing measures. We had Halloumi and it was brilliant as usual. Stayed outside until 10pm and then we were allowed to go for drinks inside until 1pm
L. M.
Nice location, 5 minute walk from exhibition centre train station, right across from Radisson Red. Staff really friendly, all in correct PPE. Drinks menu quite limited if you're looking for beer, and all quite expensive too. 2 rounds for 2 people cost us £28 so not a cheap night/day out. You pick from one of the 5 menus and all of your table must eat from that menu too. We chose the Italian menu which had a good variety but few vegan options if that's your type of thing. Would be really nice on a sunny day, not much shelter from wind or rain otherwise. Dog friendly.
D. N.
Very nice place, with a lot of choices for food and drinks. The staff was great. We chose to eat from the Greek restaurant and it was amazing! Halloumi fries are the best 👌 🤩
K. S.
Been only in the outside garden area. Good food, nice atmosphere. Could have more comfortable sitting benches though and drinks in paper cups???
S. W.
Two nights away from home because of work, this place was across the street from my hotel so I gave it a try, it was super busy and after eating the food, I know why! It was fantastic, so much so I ate there again the 2nd night :)
J. G.
Amazing place, especially outdoors on a sunny day
Big portions and cool idea of having many different restaurants in one and being able to choose from each of them!
R. M.
Good venue with very friendly staff that went out the way for you.
Pizza and a couple of pints 👌 but cocktails not too great.
Enjoyed our night there but was a bit concerned why staff weren't using face masks but will defo come back again.
A. B.
Loads of choice from different cuisines. Was excited for baklava - but it didn't taste like baklava, tasted like a cinnamon roll somehow..
I. R.
Some tasty treats from Rioja, today. The Iberico pork cheek and the spinach and gruyere croquettes were fab. The asparagus hollandaise was bizarre though - instead of the Idiazabal cheese topping, there was grated cheddar semi melted over it - not what we expected : ( The Pan Catalan was bland too - no real garlic or other seasoning, so pretty bland.
C. S.
Good food, attentive staff and nice location, at least in the sun. -1 star as we had booked a a group and were tod that we'd b seated together but the tables "next to each other" were really too far away to allow conversation. I understand that this is to follow current guidelines but would have been better if it had been made clearer a we had to go elsewhere.
K. M.
Lovely meal, great staff great choice
W. T.
The concept is great, you get offered multiple menus but you all have to decide to eat from one, the cost does not warrant the quality, we have had better quality food for less money, and the service was was lacking I really wanted to like it more.
P. C.
Nice old dockyard building with over 100 years of history containing a restaurant and pub. Good food comprising of 3 menus Greek, Japanese and Spanish. I had the Greek and it was very good and not very reasonably priced.
C. B.
Lively beer garden, staff are friendly and service was really good. Limited choices on tap, ie. Only Peroni at the moment, and £5.85 per pint, not cheap! But a good range of restaurants to choose from, so it's worth a visit.
S. C. (. L. D.
Dined off the Halloumi menu. Felt it was quite expensive for a pretty inauthentic Greek experience. Staff all observing proper practice with face masks etc. Might be nicer on a sunnier day perhaps but would probably go somewhere else for Greek food.
M. D. N.
great service, friendly attentive staff, disappointing food. (pickled ginger menu)
beef soba yaki was far too salty. portions were too big. salmon, tempura and chicken teriyaki was mediocre. won't be returning.
J. C.
Very good service, bit pricey but food was lovely. Waitress found us a seat in the sun. The beer garden wraps around the building creating a great atmosphere.
K. M.
Lovely to have a place like this in Glasgow. Good to have a selection of different foods to order from at once. The app to order was great and staff lovely.
s.
Well organised and felt very safe. Chose to eat ndoors due to weather and it was great to be able to order from all the different restaurants!
N. H.
It was lovely sitting outside, it was very clean and tidy.. Drinks were in small plastic cups but still OK...
J. B.
Visited for drinks outdoors. Sheltered with some heaters dotted about. Although, the one closest to us wasn't working. Easy to use app and quick service.
J. R.
What a place so cool and trendy and such great service and great service...Next time visiting Glasgow we will be back
J. G.

Food was good and at a good price, but the restaurant was really noisy - it felt like a canteen.
C. B.
Love that you can order dishes from different menus! We sat on the patio and order a mix of tasty things including the kimchi fries which were incredible! Patio was nice and the heaters kept us toasty. I went on a date night. My husband doesn't eat sushi so it was nice that I got to have some! Would also be ideal for a big group as well. Only four stars because the drinks came several minutes after all the food, but I understand it can't be coordinated when ordering from different menus. Will definitely be back!
