Reviews of Madha - North & South Indian Kitchen
R. A.
The Owner/wine server made for a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, we were a group of 5 all of our dishes were very tasty, Trying Dosa for the first time was super fun and yummy. The best part was not looking at the menu just having a little chat with the server. The wine list is incredible for an Indian restaurant small but great choices along with good prices
J. M.
Good but not great.
Certainly different from other Indian restaurants and I think this is their unique selling point. Really good service and I hope they do well.
D. B. M.
Excellent service and enjoyed what we ordered for dinner here - rose lassi, grilled fish, lamb & payasam. Do visit if haven’t yet.

Just casually searched for best indian restaurant in glasgow and found this gem. The food is just heavenly…authentic and tasty. This is one of best indian restaurant in UK offering the authentic taste. Hospitality is just marvellous, hard to miss out the love and guidance of Mr.Joseph.
We tried Tharavu mappaz, Kerala Porata, Nadan addu curry in the main course. Must to try starters - erachi thenga fry and kanava masala.
Defintly will visit again…

A wonderful place. The food is outstanding, probably the best I’ve eaten outside India. The owner is very friendly and seems to have an incredible memory for faces , remembering us from a previous visit a couple of years previously. The service is very good. A restaurant that has to be on your list of places to eat when you visit Glasgow
A. A.
A place with good ambience and an even better staff. The food was delicious. The price was bearable for the service provided. Will visit again!
V. S.
Hands down one of the best places in Glasgow to eat, regardless of the genre of food. Having said that, they do do outstanding dosas - possibly the best I've ever had. The authenticity of the taste, the presentation was impeccable.
But perhaps more importantly, Joseph is the sweetest man I've ever met! Outstanding service. Recommend this place 10/10!
K. W.
Absolutely delicious food and excellent service!
The manager was very friendly and shared interesting details about each dish. We had the squid and lamb to start and I’ve never had anything like it — highly recommend.

Our first experience trying out South Indian cuisine. Unique, exciting flavour all-around with knowledgeable waiting staff to guide us through the menu. Highly-recommended.

My partner and I visited Madha this weekend and it was incredible, we left very full and happy! We are both vegan and the selection available for us was really great! Joseph was a fantastic host from start to finish and was excited to talk to us about their vegan options which we loved. So if you’re in Glasgow and looking for incredible Indian food then you definitely need to try Madha.
A. V.
If you're looking for genuine South Indians or North Indians, you can find it in here. In Glasgow, most of the other restaurants that mention indigenous food do not offer authentic Indian cuisine.
I am glad I found a place that really taste like home.

Madha is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants of Glasgow. The food tastes really authentic and the ingredients are fresh and good quality. They have lots of vegan and gluten free dishes. All I ate was incredible!
Joseph, the owner, was also really kind and always checking if everything was ok with me and my meal. The atmosphere of the place is incredible (lots of small details) and I loved the fact there was Indian music playing.
Definitely going to come back, specially after knowing they have a kind of a big pancake made of rice and lentils (dosa) I want to taste and share with friends... ;) 5 stars restaurant!
P. S.
One of the best hotels in Glasgow for South Indian Food. Went there for Onam sadya and had authentic Kerala sadya which was really really good. We were so happy with the food and service. The owner, Mr.Joseph makes sure that each and every customer is having a great meal with no concerns and provided us with excellent service! (Thank you Jospeh uncle for making our Onam away from home happy!) 😊😊

Visited this week for the first time. We were blown away by the delicious food and fantastic service. We loved hearing about the dishes we were eating and the owner could not have been more helpful explaining what to order etc. The food was really special, not the food you find in Indian restaurants typically. I was absolutley gutted to realise I had left my doggy bag on the table after our meal! Will definitely be back to try again.
K. H.
We googled where has the best vegan Indian food in Glasgow and your name popped up. You didn’t disappoint. The food and service couldn’t have been any better, it was absolutely delicious, and the staff were just lovely. There was not one negative. Would definitely recommend and hope we get to come back soon x

BESTEST INDIAN FOOD GUARANTEED!😊
was visiting this place based on the reviews we found in google... very convenient location walkable distance from the high street station and st mungo wall painting....
loved the ambience the moment we entered
and Mr.Joseph was very professional and kind to us he lead us to our table and guided us with the best dishes in the house and we had a very lovely meal and were given complimentary poppadoms as well which was quite unexpected and kind😊
DEFINITELY, a must visit place if ur craving best Indian food. will visit for sure if in Glasgow next time thank you 😊

It was refreshing to find an authentic Indian restaurant. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The dosa was delicious. Next time we're in Glasgow, I'll be happy to eat there again.
A. A.
Amazing! Very authentic Indian food (as per my Indian partner's opinion). Good portions and very tasty, awesome flavours. Friendly staff and good service. Highly recommended :)
S. K.
The best Indian food outside India in Scotland. This place serves authentic indian cuisine. If you are looking for soul food, do give this place a try.
n. j.
This food is exceptional! Very generous portions and so filling! Their Aloo Gobi is the best one I’ve had. Lovely and sweet, with just the right amount of spice. The naan bread was so nice too. The service was so fast and the staff are friendly and attentive. The best Indian food we’ve had, and we will be back!
E. J.
I rarely do reviews but this place truly deserved one !! The food is absolutely real and authentic to its name. I was a bit skeptical at first to see if one can find good South Indian food in Scotland but I am blown up by the quality of food and service this place offers. The key ingredient of success in this places besides the food is the warmth hospitality you will undoubtedly find as you enter the place is of the owner Mr Joseph. As a food enthusiast himself, he makes sure his customers are satisfied to their taste palettes. One will never be disappointed. A must visit place !
C. B.
Had a lovely meal. Service was quick and friendly (super quiet on a Wednesday evening, we were the only ones in). The dishes are a bit different from what you usually find in Indian restaurants, and the food was delicious. I had chicken murgi palak which was creamy and very tasty, my parter had the lamb mapas which was very mild.
M. S.
Best restaurant in Glasgow. Food is always excellent. If you like curry this is the place to go.
N. C.
Absolutely outstanding service & food. Joseph was a dream host and catered for our unusual dietary needs with a delicious Jain meal. Will be back when next in Glasgow 😋 Cheers Joseph!
J. M.
Fantastic food, only bettered by the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Joseph. Serving both Northern & Southern Indian food, you are literally spoiled for choice.
Just give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
V. M.
Had an amazing and delicious Onam sadhya. Felt like home. Very friendly staff and Joseph the owner was very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Discovered Madha looking for somewhere to eat in Glasgow. Not knowing the area was just glad to be able to reserve somewhere at short notice. Wow, what an experience. Food was absolutely superb and the best we have ever tasted!! There was a unique depth of flavour to all the dishes. Service and communication about the food was simply outstanding. The knowledge of staff and recommendations were faultless. When back in Glasgow, will definitely make a reservation Best Indian food we have ever had (and we're knocking on a bit and have had a lot if Indian food in our time.)
S. C.
The best Indian I’ve ever had. We had the veg thali and some sides and it was incredible. Really good service too.
S. D.
Just a truly fantastic experience the dishes are unlike any other I've ever tried, do yourself a favour and definitely try the food here you will not be disappointed and remember you're supporting a local business get out there adon't eat don't just order in to eat.
k. k.
Authentic food. Ambience is good and owner is very courteous... recommended.
M. H.
Fantastic dining experience. The staff were not only extremely attentive, they were also so knowledgeable about the dishes they were serving. Coming from a vegan, they could not have done more to make me feel at ease when it came to what I was eating, and drinking, as I was assured the wine was also vegan. If I could give more stars I would. Definitely a must for anyone visiting Glasgow.
F. F.
Good Indian food, especially South Indian and nice hospitality.calm n beautiful interiors as well. I will recommend to all those who loves Indian food as such.
R. T.
Really impressed with the politeness and attentiveness of the staff. The restaurant is also very clean and well kept. Menu is a little different to your standard Indian restaurant. I haven’t been to India yet, but can image these are authentic dishes you could expect. We had a very pleasant visit.
D.
Excellent, interesting and extensive menu both North and South Indian. It's all freshly cooked. The only issue is it's in Glasgow and I live in Edinburgh but it hasn't stopped me. I have been four times so far and eaten the Thali each time just because I can't decide what I want from the huge menu! Last night my friend came with her 11 year old daughter who loved the food too. It's very reasonably priced, very clean and friendly service.
K.
Lovely South Indian restaurant, serving authentic meals. Quick Lunch Dosa excellent and competitively priced, with very friendly staff keen to highlight ingredients and ways Indians eat it. Good variety of poppadom sauces. Modern but tasteful decor, toilets spotless. Surrounded by regulars at lunch time so clearly very popular.
S. W.
Excellent food and service, authentic Indian cuisine made to your taste!
n. s.
Food was good and taste is of indian only..nice gesture by the staff and quickly served.
J. M.
If you’re looking for a very different curry experience I’d recommend this restaurant. An absolutely superb range of tastes and spices. Just let the waiter know what you like: chicken lamb fish prawns or vegetarian and wether you like it hot spicy or mild. The chefs will do the rest. This is by far the nicest curry I’ve tasted and with a range of starters just to get you in the mood. 5star all day long.
J. B.
First time in the restaurant.
Food was really good and staff where really friendly. I will definitely be going back.
S. D. M.
Service excellent, food amazing, lovely ambience, definitely going back
J. J.
Had the Onam Sadhya on Aug 21st with my partner and friends for them to have their first Sadhya experience. They absolutely loved the experience and the food. And as a Malayali myself, I was really surprised and impressed with how authentic and homely the dishes were. Such an amazing experience altogether. The staff were kind enough to explain the curries, the way to eat it and recommended some amazing dishes as well. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely visit again. Thank you, Mr. Joseph for taking care of us.

We bought a itison deal for 2 meals for £20 . Ill start with the negative points . We had to pay £1.50 extra for fried rice which wasn't stated on the voucher .we tried to order a leg of lamb dish that costs £23 and they asked for £17 extra. Considering you get a chicken curry with the voucher at £13 I would have expected to pay no more than £10 extra for this dish . We were disappointed that we didn't get to try this dish as I wasn't prepared to almost may for the full dish on top of the voucher credit. I think the management should consider rethinking about the supplement price on this dish. Anyway. That's everything that's negative with doesn't include the food. I got a lamb soup and the misses got samosas which I generally don't like . The soup was quite spicy but it was lovely and I had some of the misses samosa and that was equally lovely to my surprise . We then ordered lamb bhoona and a duck dish that I don't remember the name of but both were cooked to perfection . Both the lamb and the duck were so moist and juicy that you could cut them with your fork. I would highly recommend the food here . Its made to a very high standard and there wasn't any way to fault it at all. 10 outta 10. The main things that I didn't find good was being charged £1.50 for frying my rice and wanting £17 extra for a lamb dish especially when the voucher said lamb dishes are £3 suppliment . I understand this was a leg of lamb and £3 extra wouldn't cover the extra costs but £10 extra would be a fair supplement price to pay. Other than that you can't fault the place and the service was very professional and we weren't rushed to eat up which the misses liked .
R. P.
Exceptional service and beautiful food! We had the masala dosa and a vegetarian thali both of which I could not fault, amazing flavours and very well cooked. If you are looking for good quality authentic Indian food, look no further - this is the place for you. We are vegetarian however they also cater to vegans as well. The manager who was serving us was so friendly and kind to us and his other customers - he made sure everyone was looked after and happy with their meals. Would highly recommend and we will be back again!
B. P.
Joseph was an excellent host. Provided a great guide to the dishes & what was suitable for our Indian tastes. Had Erachi Thenga Fry (lamb dish) & Panka Pyaz (onion bhaji style). Both excellent. Also had the Badsha ki khana which was tasty. For mains the sea breem wrapped in banana leaf was delicious as was the lamb curry with kerala roti. Loved the sauce with the tender lamb. We washed it down with kingfisher on draught & a strawberry mocktail. I highly recommend the food for a more traditional taste of South & North Indian cuisine. Worth a visit & try Joseph's recommendations to suit your palate.
J. D.
Excellent food at very good prices. Particularly impressed by the staff’s encyclopaedic knowledge of their dishes - being able to reel off the primary ingredients of everything we asked about. Also extremely vegan friendly. Will definitely return.
H. R.
Madha has it all; exquisite food and fantastic service. This is just the second time we've eaten here but haven't been disappointed on either occasion. Joseph, the restaurant manager, is always welcoming and interested in each customer as individuals. He explains every dish in detail and makes recommendations for individual needs. This is not mass produced food, but fine dining, prepared just for you. You also won't find most of the dishes offered in your local Indian either. This is a very special menu. Glasgow is lucky to have this restaurant so I hope you get there soon. I'll see you there.
I. B.
Excellent food and so friendly staff. A great place for a great meal.
S. C. M.
Lovely meal and presentation. Also exceptionally nice and polite staff. Got the taste of kerala food after a long time. Thank you for the best evening.
M. R.
There is absolutely nothing I could fault about this restaurant. The service was fantastic, the food was just delicious and the price was very very reasonable. Will definitely be returning.
A. M.
True representation of south-Indian food in Glasgow. We ordered a paper dosa, paneer chettinad and malabar parotta between the two of us. Everything tasted just like from the kitchen back home in Kerala, India!
Great food! Kind and well-spoken staff members. Clean environment and pleasant ambience.
We are definitely going to visit again! 😊👍🏻
M. U.
Staff were super friendly, the food was above average but the service was slower than I would have liked. Decent selection of vegan choices, which is good.
J.
Amazing food, service, friendly staff.
Highly recommend.
H. V.
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very calm and nostalgic. Came here for our Lunch great spot to visit if you miss authentic Kerala taste, especially Meen Pollichat, and Erachi thenga fry stood out .Welcoming and friendly owner, truly cares about your experience. Don't hesitate to ask for the recommendation from the menu :D
N. T.
It’s one of the finest meal I ever had since I moved to London! Kuddos to the team!!
E. P.
That was excellent!
I recommend it, and will go back for sure.
Couldn't make my mind on the menu so much everything was tempting, and as the one I got was incredible, need to go back try the rest ;(
J. M.
To start with the owners Joseph was very engaging and inviting. The atmosphere was comfortable. The decor was beautiful and understated.
Now to the food! This was without a doubt the best Indian food I’ve had. The flavors were well balanced. The dishes we had were spicy but not over powering, however you could gat any dish made to your preferred heat level.
The menu was easy to navigate and understand.
As a chef I would say that this dining experience was as it should be. I’m visiting from abroad and should I have the good fortune to come to Glasgow again I will most assuredly cost the establishment again.
Well done Madah. Well done Joseph and staff.
v.
Wonderfully friendly owner/manager and staff, delicious food and brilliant customer service. They have many vegan and gluten free options, so there is something for everyone.
M. S.
Authentic south Indian dishes, imaginatively different from your classic Indian restaurant. Prices are on the high side but they are in keeping with restaurant prices in this part of Glasgow.
J. T.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, absolutely delicious! The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive with out being in your space. Will definitely be back!
A. R.
Recommended for good authentic and spicy Indian food. We came all the way from Edinburgh to try few dishes and it was really delicious. Must try Erachi thenga fry and kanava roast from starters.
L. J.
Separate vegan menu, great hospitality and fantastic food. A real gem.
C. T.
Treated to birthday meal this afternoon at the back of 4. Was met at the door and offered assistance in identifying the meals on the menu. Very clean. Tables nicely spaced. You can sit at a few tables in the front or through the back there was approx 90 seats in 2s 4s and 6seat setups. This is not one of the usual curry houses the menu is almost entirely different. We were assisted in our meal choice and had mixed starters. The food was excellent and although spiced you could taste everything. I was given a wholemeal nan and was really pleased with it. As the restaurant was empty when we went in we had choice of seats and were not rushed to choose our meals. If you want the taste of genuine Indian food I recommend you try her
G. S.
It's easy to take an Indian out of India, but impossible to take India out of an Indian and this place made me feel home with the delicious, authentic Indian cuisine where in which the chef prepares food which fills our heart. The best.

Amazing dishes with properly rich spice. The garlic naan is the garlickiest naan and the Nalli Gosht is to die for. We ate far too much because everything we had was amazing. Definitely a favourite.
M. T.
Very tasty authentic Indian food. Pleasant staff. Neat and a good portion of meals ate served.
R. J.
First time going to this restaurant. I went with family for Onam Sadhya. It was a great experience. The food was authentic. And the staff was good. Would recommend anyone who wants to try good Indian food to this place.
A. W.
Lovely family dinner. Food was fantastic and the host was a pleasure to meet. Would recommend if you want some great spicy food.
P. T.
I’ve been eating curry in the city for 40 years. This is the best and most authentic meal I’ve had in Glasgow. We asked Mr Joseph the engaging Keralan owner to recommend a selection of starters and mains for our party of 8.Delicious,freshly cooked amazing array of fish and meat dishes and wonderful bread and rice.
It felt like you were being hosted in this lovely guy’s house for the most delicious home cooked food.
Every dish was wonderful-for a curry the flavours were all there but not overpowering.
Mr Joseph is an attentive host and went out of his way to make sure we were all happy with our food and looked after.
This restaurant deserves some serious attention from serious foodies.
We will definitely be back
Keep up the good work you deserve to be a very successful restaurant.
Thank you
J. G.
Some of the best Indian food I've tasted! The service here is great and the staff are so warm and welcoming. I highly reccomend a meal spent here. Wonderful experience. 5 stars.
a. c.
Food was lovely.staff were amazing.but portion size disappointing for the price you pay.and charging £4.00 for a can of beer not draught a bit much.
S. S.
In town for a wedding and had a friend recommend this restaurant. Service was amazing from the second we walked in. Took our coats, asked us if we needed any guidance or recommendations for the food. Helped me choose a dish that wasn’t too spicy (I’m slowly building up my tolerance). My boyfriend was looking for some quality curry since he was back in the UK and this place delivered with all his favorites. Would definitely recommend!
C. F.
The food is excellent and worth five stars, but the service sets Madha above any restaurant we have visited in many years.
The owner (?) is happy to not only recommend dishes, but to bring them out and sincerely promise that if they aren't up to expectations then there will be no charge. Of the 3 new dishes recommended, we loved them all.
It's a feeling you are in a place that cares about food and the origins. We all tried and enjoyed something different from the menu and my daughters normally stick to one dish and one dish only. This is what a restaurant should be.
V. P.
I have been to London, Edinburgh, India but this was my best ever experience of Authentic South Indian taste. Honestly highly recommend if you are looking for such authentic experience
I. M.
Best Indian I've had in Glasgow, very authentic and friendly service as well
r. k.
We were very hungry, and getting some tasty food which reminds you of your home after that is heaven. The restaurant is very good and the food is heaven.
M. R. Q.
A culinary discovery and delight! Expectations were high, after reading all the exceptional reviews for this restaurant (and the very thoughtful and considerate answers to the handful of not so good reviews), but we were nevertheless very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service and the explosion of unknown flavours from the food. From start to finish the meal was a success - the onion bhajis were crisp, tender, sweet and spicy and all of the four main meals that M Joseph chose for us, based on our preferences, were an absolute revelation with subtle flavours and well balanced spices!
M. S.
We tried a variety of dishes and, I can honestly say, that we were not disappointed by any! Food was simply delicious, as was the service from the manager (Joseph) and co. Highly recommend.
J.
Joseph is an absolute delight! Everyone was so accommodating and friendly, especially with my dietary requirements. Huge selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Came here after a friend who lived in India recommended it as the best Indian food she’d had in the UK - she was right!
K. F.
Madha is the best Indian restaurant I have visited in the UK. That's something I don't say lightly. The owner is from Kerala in the South of India and the food is authentic - fresh and very tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food takes a little time coming out so it is cooked perfectly. You can taste the passion in what they cook. Relax, soak it in and enjoy the cuisine!
M. P.
Amazing south Indian food and very friendly host. They specially made the veg stew for us and I cannot recommend it enough.
S. S.
It was excellent. My husband and myself had Dinner there. Since we both have been to India several times, this food is REALLY Indian food at its best. The Thali was excellent and the Paper Dhosa amazing. The Manager and the staff is very friendly and helpful! It was a great evening! Looking forward to our next time in Glasgow to go there again.
C. M.
Highly recommended! Great quality food with wide range of vegan options, really enjoyed the thali and dhosa. Excellent service, definitely will be back 👍
d. c.
Paper rice roll!!! You have try these amazing. Overall the customer service was excellent the food was different and delicious. Highly recommended on my part
F. D.
Food was fantastic and there were some exciting choices on the menu as well as the old favourites. My calamari starter was delicious and a first for me in an Indian restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was great. Will definitely return soon.
U. B.
Myself and family been on a scotland tour.we been in Madha restaurant in Glasgow.let me say you my experience was unbelievable.the quality and variety off North Indian and South Indian dishes are mouthwatering.the neatness, friendly staffs are outstanding. If I go to Scotland again I will get down in Glasgow only for the experience of MADHA.five star restaurant no other words.
I. M.
Fantastic meal and first class service as usual
r.
Honestly was there for first time this week and its been a long time since i was so impressed 🙌 unrivalled service. its so nice that the owner Joseph takes the time to go round the tables. its not forced- you can see he has a genuine love for what he does.
sidenote- as a vegan i felt very welcome. they have a separate menu with an abundance of choice which is great to experience. thank you to everyone at Madha 🙌
J. B.
I hv seldom been to an Indian restaurant which would prepare the Indian food with its original taste. Madha has managed to maintain the original flavours of the recipes. The service is exceptionally good. Very friendly staff. I am not very big fan of rating stars but this team deserves it. The total experience was better than many restaurants in 5star hotels. Would definitely visit again if around Glasgow.
R. c.
I was really missing the taste of kerala cusine for the last 8 months, as I've been in Scotland searching for kerala porotta. As every malayali once will definitely try to have where ever they go if once tried. After lot of search and review scuterinizing I found this restuarant near Argyle Street, Glasgow where the ambience was really wonderful. A same kerala touch restaurant with classic painting and a big spaceous room to dine-in.
The very first I ordered for starters which was Tapioca and squid which was really aromatic and the authentic flavoured taste melted my tounge as I recollected the taste where I lost somewhere, Finishing that I ordered porotta as well as chettinadu chicken curry.. I was eagerly waiting for the main course, The porota was served hot and Crispy. I really enjoyed a lot. Will definitely make a visit with my friends who miss their homely food. Next time it would be Fish polichathu to be on table. The preparation and presentation level of food was awesome. Really enjoyed it.👍

Newly opened Indian restaurant on Albion St. I live nearby so thought I would try it out a couple of days after they opened. Madha is very different to the place that was here before. Very nice interior and friendly staff. Food was really excellent and drinks very good value for money. Since they'd just opened, there were a few teething problems but since the food was so good, I forgave them these small things. Good to see another nice restaurant opening its doors. Recommended.
H. R.
Great food and fantastic staff - happy and friendly 😀
C. J. A.
Went here for lunch without reading any reviews. The staff were great and the food was fresh and tasty.
As someone else said the owner came round and said hi to every table but it didn't feel forced and you can tell he genuinely cared. He also explained that the staff come from different parts of India so they specialise in their styles of cooking and it shows. All four of out meals were delicious and the naan bread was prepared fresh as can be.
P. L.
Stop searching! You’ve found it! The food was amazing and the service matched it. Service was second to none. Joseph was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Took time to talk through the dishes and even arranged for the chef to cook a dish that wasn’t on the menu. Back in Glasgow next month and I can’t wait to come back. 10/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A. A. F.
The food was excellent. I tried the Mutton Rogan Josh. It comes with meat on bones. Spicy and made my day. I came more than once later. Staff was good and they constantly try to improve. Mixed Indian culture in staff and they connect with you.
Clean place, and can get busy due to demand. Suggest Music could be more quieter in the background.
H. C.
Booked this restaurant because we were looking for something off the beaten track of Glasgow's vegan options. Highly recommend. So many options, beautifully presented and quite simply delicious. The most accommodating service and a friendly atmosphere.
M. S. k.
Visited this place for lunch, restaurant was spotless, food was really nice. Host Joseph was very attentive and polite, couldn't do enough to make sure everything was ok. I will be back..
B. W.
Excellent service, best Indian food in Glasgow.
Been back a couple of times in the past year but seriously good food. As a group of 6 we were able to sample the Duck, Lamb, Chicken, Monkfish and Salmon. An excellent choice of food tailored to your taste by the excellent host Joseph. The Chef is incredible. Every time we are here there is something new introduced. Last night Dosa that looked like a pancake/crepe but was the length of the table that had a unusual cheese taste to it, even though Joseph said there was no cheese in the making of this. Peshwari Nan is the best I've tasted. A great food experience. You definately get more than you pay for here. 10/10
J. R.

Main thing to say - GO HERE ASAP.
Fab food all brilliantly fresh and full of flavour with a great veggie/vegan selection including vegan deserts. On top of that the service is just the right side of attentive. The manager Joseph is a gem. I promise you won't be disappointed with anything at Madha!
D. M.
A simply fabulous curry - in fact probably the best we've ever had! So much flavour and the quality of the chicken & lamb was outstanding. JoJo was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. What a find!
S. S.
I visited Madha recently after word of mouth. I was not disappointed. I am a foodie and I have eaten in many restaurants all over the world and I can say Madha sits at the top for freshness, taste and authenticity. I am from North of Sri Lanka, where the cuisine is very similar to South India. I had to go to London to get my foodie fix when I miss my home food. I am delighted that I found Madha, it offers the real taste of South and North India.
I ordered Mukkuvan soopu, came with perfect spiciness, full of flavour with lot of fresh seafood and it was delightful. The fish cutlets tasted exactly the way my mother made them. So delicate and every bite I took tantalised my taste buds. Then came Erachi thenga fry, skilfully prepared lamb with real coconut chunks, served with textured tapioca, so tasty that I wanted to order again. The traditional Idly Vada came as perfect vegetarian main course, I have not had perfect food like this in many years, except when I visited Jaffna! Idlies were fluffy, the vada was perfectly crispy outside and the sambar had all the ingredients that I would expect when I eat back home! Every mouthful reminded me home and it was a pleasure eating at Madha! I finished with authentic Payasam for pudding, that washed down with Masala chai.
The service was excellent, Joseph was making sure my food arrived in time, piping hot and tasty. One thing about Joseph is that he is a humble man, cares about his customers and he genuinely loves what he does, the service is the best!!
I have been to many Indian restaurants in Glasgow and I find Madha does it for me for taste, authenticity, service and value for money! I could not find any fault with this gem of a restaurant. This restaurant saves me a trip to London!! The interior is excellent and cosy. I highly recommend Madha to anyone, who wants to experience an authentic food heaven. This is a great place to dine in tranquil setting, whether you are with family, with friends, in a party of people or a solo visitor, you should not be disappointed!
J. S.
Joseph is wonderful. Based on our preferences he served a variety of dishes from the North and South. The appies were very tasty and the main courses so flavourful. A great deal of pride by the owners in creating the best food for their customers.
L. G.
authentic south Indian food , couldn’t believe it wasn’t home made by grandma , perfect ambience for a chill out with family and friends
Exemplary service
Strongly recommend
S. C.
Ended up here by chance and I was gladly surprised. We didn't know what to order, and after a couple questions the owner figured out what we would most likely enjoy... and he was right, it was delicious. Just because of this experience it's a restaurant well worth visiting!
a. f.
Best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. Prawns are exceptional and a must have! Staff are excellent, especially Joseph, the most friendliest owner.
R. C.
I've eaten here a few times now. The food is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. The only downside is that I don't live closer 😁
A. J.
Good and authentic Indian food.
A. P.
Have been twice now and every time have tried new delicious dishes. The lamb and monkfish are exceptional. Service is best around the city and got all there suggestion on point. Will DEFINITELY be back real soon!
M. G.
Kerala's delights in Glasgow. Highly recommended.
A usually busy place. Hit by virus panic. Which was great news for us as we got a table at the last minute.
Owner has obtained hand sanitizer. Staff were clearly using it regularly.
Let's forget the panic and feast. Food was fabulous. Although northern India is represented on the menu the stand out here is Kerala's cooking.
Lots of fish lamb vegetables. Flavoured with black pepper, mustard seed, curry leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, chili and coconut
Served with tapioca, rice and rice flour pancakes.
All good.
The owner is a gentleman. Clearly and rightly proud of his service.
Highly recommended.
S. K.
If you read other reviews they will mention how helpful Joseph is. Having now been here I couldn't agree more, very pleasant individual. The restaurant itself is deceptively big. From outside it looks small but there is a large eating area further through the restaurant. Food is excellent with a decent selection of drinks also available. Worth a visit.
A. J.
Genuine Indian
One of my friend recommended this restaurant and found the food and service is top class. The tandoori lamb chops are to die for, just melts in your mouth. Keep up the good work
S. T.
Absolutely amazing restaurant with great food and staff to match! Been here multiple times and will definitely be back. The owner is so warm and friendly, his daughter an attentive waitress and the other waiting staff so willing to share their knowledge and experience of Indian cuisine. Cannot wait to return and try the paper dosa!
H. K.
The service was fantastic, the server did a great job of explaining what was vegan, dairy free and vegetarian and the food and drinks were fantastic. We'll definitely be back!!
A. C.
Had the most amazing experience, the owner Joseph, was so polite and provided an incredible service. Would recommend highly and looking forward to the next visit
J. M.
Amazing food and friendly service. Have been here a few times and can quite honestly say the best indian dishes I've ever tasted. 5 stars
N. B.
Superb North and South Indian cuisine! The owner and staff are friendly, helpful and willing to please. This is not difficult because the food is fantastic! You have to try it! A totally new curry experience.
a. d.
Excellent service, attentive, warm and friendly. As a solo traveller infelt completely comfortable and at ease. Delicious veg thali with a sweet and salt freshly squeezed lime soda. Great value restaurant in a lively part of town. Thanks to manager Joseph and his engaging team.
A. L.
Fantastic Food and Service
We first came across Joseph when he was managing Dhabba in Glasgow and we were always impressed by his friendly service and knowledge. When he moved to manage a new restaurant in Livingston it was natural for us to follow him again
He always talked of opening his own restaurant and he has now achieved this with Madha in Glasgow's Merchant City
Visited on Friday with friends and once again we were not disappointed, the same friendly service and excellent food, all delivered by very attentive staff and closely supervised by Joseph.
Nice décor ( lovely tiles in the loo !! )
All the best to you Joseph for the future we will certainly be back soon
S. K. T.
Great ambience, excellent service, good staff and finally the food will give you a feeling as if you are reached in your native.
The restaurant is attracting local as well . Must go if you want taste good food.
Finally I would have to comment on Mr.Joseph for his courtesy and caring for customers.
J. W.
Great food, not your usual curry house menu. My partner had the Chicken Biryani which was the best she's ever had and we eat a few curries. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended
V. R.
Started with a phone booking. On arrival i was greeted with a welcoming hand shake and referred to by my first name (which continued throughout)
I was asked what i would like, after looking at the menu undecided. The waiter closed the menu. I describe my favourite meal (chicken creamy sauce, 7/10 spice) he then said i know what you would like. i had no idea what was coming but i was more then satisfied.
I was dining alone (work trip) and they made me feel like a VIP placing the napkin on my lap and attending to me often but without intruding. It was quiet but i didnt notice as every member of staff was friendly and helpful.
the waitress at the end had a nice chat (cute smile) and i would recommend the place to any visitor looking for a good curry.
i dont write review but this place deserved it 100%
j. j.
Coming from a Indian background it's very difficult to find food that is authentic and free of any drama. Food from Madhu transported us back home. Reminded us of what our grandma's would cook for us when we go back. To top it up the way customers are looked after by Joseph is really commendable. Definitely a must visit if your in Glassgow. Loved it .... Joseph is awesome...
J. H.
Fond Mahda quite by accident and am delighted. Superb welcome, fantastic menu and really delightful owner Joseph Joesph and Vijay a friendly waiter. The food was delicious. Hot kerelan soup to start with, tandoori baked monkfish with small town of dipping sauce on side. Light fluffy naan and the most delicious cardamon kulfi I have ever had.
Would I go Back? Yes and it is so good I am going to get a carry out for my husband tomorrow. I really recommend this wonderful restaurant.
j. c.
Fabulous restaurant, incredible friendly service and the best and most beautifully presented samosa I have ever eaten. Very reasonably priced. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes but plenty of meat and fish to choose from too. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
F. B.
The food is ok, but portions very small for this prices... I didn't like the service, everyone makes mistakes, included in the invoice what we did not order! also the room is very dark.
I. H.
amazing amazing food, great service - definitely going back!
**came back again months later and still amazing! my favourite restaurant in Glasgow and Joseph is the absolute best, a must visit**
C. J.
An amazing place , delicious food, i would say “home far away “👍🏻What makes you visit it again is the love and warmth of joseph chetta and the authentic taste he offers👍🏻
P.
Best curry in Glasgow, highly recommend. Delightful staff
C. L.
Great spot for delicious vegan food. Affordable, with wonderful service and location.
T. M.
Didn't know what to expect when we saw the menu.. Fears were allayed when full explanation given by very accommodating host. Nothing but courtesy and good service here, food was excellent. Would go again but too far from home, maybe next time in Glasgow. Recommended.
C. K.
Very friendly staff and great food. The vegetarian and vegan options in particular were much tastier than the meat options. Only fault is that the service is a little slow.
B. R.
Food and service was lovely. Paying £4 for a glass of coke however left a bad taste in our mouths. Rice portion was on the small side considering the price. Would still recommend the venue to others but would probably not return myself.
V. S.
Absolutely amazing food. I keep visiting and the taste has literally slaved me. The service is fantastic and the owner is gem of a person.
A must visit for those who crave for Indian food.
E. S.
Fantastic food really genuine indian . After our meal never felt bagged up. Flavours were so fresh Joseph and his staff are so welcoming. Will be back
M. T.
Saap Paneer did not meet expectations even after being charged double the rate of other indian restaurants in Glasgow
V. C.
Staff were very friendly and helped us choose from the menu and explained the difference in curries as the names were not familiar to us. There was a bit of an unexpected rush on causing a small delay so we were presented with a tray of complimentary pompidoms and pickles. A nice touch and unexpected.
J. B.
Popped in for lunch as i work nearby and couldn't believe how amazing the food was, Extremely authentic, fresh and fragrant and perfect portion sizes. I will definitely return in the evening with family and friends and now have a new favourite lunch spot for a midweek treat.
d. a.
Joseph is back with a bang what a great menu and cooked to perfection. A must if you love Asian food. Everything was so fresh and the flavours are incredible. This is in my top 5 places to eat in uk.
S. B. B.
Great Food..Wonderful Ambience..Fantastic Host 'Joseph'..The Masala Dost & Biryani were simply delicious.Thorougly enjoyed today evening..Sapna & Bharat.
B. S.
Food was delicious, not your average "Glasgow Curry" but top notch and really authentic. Service excellent and friendly, Joseph the manager took good care of us. We will be back...
A. A.
This meal was not only incredible but the service was fantastic! Great food, great staff! Im a vegan and was completely accommodated to a full level, not only a great menu filled with options for myself but was helped greatly by staff and even surprised me with a meal made for me!
N. M.
I heard it was good but I can honestly say it was the best curry I've had in the UK. Fresh, extremely flavoursome and definitely not your usual oily fare. We had a mixture of staters, mains and dosas. The starters were tasty, if a little meagre-looking due to presentation. But they were basically a teaser for what was to come. Between us we had a mix of monkfish, chicken, salmon and veggie dishes. Everyone was so fresh a flavoursome, especially the salmon. The Dosa was next level. They looked like massive naans but were light as a feather and tasted complex even though they had only 2 or 3 ingredients.
The service was polite, considerate and friendly. The owner, Joseph Joseph, was very passionate and incredible knowledgable, talking to us for ages about the specific ingredients.
There are many great Indian restaurants in Scotland, but this is the best meal I've had at any of them.
S. R.
Don't think if you are an Indian or Scottish or Come from different country you will definitely love the food and way of service. Thanks Joseph for serving such a delicious food. Worth visiting.
m. m.
Glasgow is just worth visiting for this place! It’s honestly not just Indian restaurant it’s an experience in itself Michelin star style! The best Indian food I have ever tasted! Thank you Madha!
N. B.
A sincere effort to bring authenticity to the Indian food. Very well done Joseph and team. Keep surprising the Glasgow crowd with your amazing dishes.
A. R.

K. E.
Fabulous meal at the newly opened Madha restaurant. Food was fantastic, very friendly attentive staff, very reasonably priced. Lovely decor , this will be my favourite from now on. Couldn't fault any of it , look forward to seeing this restaurant winning lots of restaurant awards.
A. C.
At time it’s great to relish and take your senses through an exotic taste and enchanting journey. Some time it’s delightful to keep your fingers licking J . Matha offers you precisely that - Authentic Indian food!!! You can taste here special South Indian flavours straight from spice garden of India and travel all the way to North to experience freshly prepared Tandoori dishes. It is truly a special gateway to Indian food.
Indian cuisines are mostly fresh food augmented with spices that create a myriad of taste and aura. Indian cuisine is also influenced from the days when they were British, Dutch and Portuguese colonies. Seasonal fried snacks with tangy and spicy tamarind sauce, silky textured specialties of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, North Indian and South Indian Breads, distinctive taste of seafood from the land of coconuts that remind you of the serene beaches of Kerala and Goa … A simple diet consisting of a sumptuous fish curry prepared with garlic paste, onions , red chilies and flavoured with mustard seeds and curry leaves with rice meal ….to a rich prestigious royal Biriyani…All the flavours burst with vibrancy. You can also taste some rich deserts that are made traditionally during Indian festivals. In today’s world where everyone is fed up reviewing the long list of ingredients and preservatives on the packets of food we buy, such great food stands out. Food here is as good as that prepared by your Mother (Matha means Mother). I love to take my kids here whenever we are in Glasgow …I prefer to give them fresh cooked food without any preservatives/stabilizers.…And warmth of a lively person like Joseph and his family truly reflects spirit of India ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ - Be one for whom the guest is God
M. T.

What a fantastic first visit with my family. Joseph knows exactly what he wants Madha to portray with his product knowledge and his hospitality is second to none.
Will be back soon and also recommending to everyone I meet!
A. O.
Great food and service. They will go to every effort to create something to suit your tastes. If you have a favourite that is not in the menu then just ask and they will try to serve it.
A. M.
Liked the food in Madha. Tried a mixed plate of their starters, acouple of their curries and breads. Really tasty. Their menu also has some offerings ypu don't really see many places in Glagow. The price they ask for a dosa seems high though.
F. H.
Great North and South Indian food, be sure to check out the amazing Thali and Dosas. I hear the Indian cider is good. The owner / host is super friendly too.
D. L.
1st time in Madha tonight, the food was really good and high quality. Service was excellent too and we would definitely go back again. Only negative is that the portions were a little small compared to other places.
A. M.
This place is a hidden treasure and needs to be put on the map..
Absolutely fantastic all round..food, staff and cleanliness is 100%
Absolute must!!
S. M.

Gem of the curry house
Visited after reading all the brilliant reviews and found the food and service really fantastic
The tandoori monkfish is out of this world and Naans were so fresh and light
The best curry ever tasted and will back soon.
P. D. P.
I had delicious Onam Sadhya feast and the taste was authentic.
M. L.
Good food but very small portions. The naan bread was almost wafer thin. Not often I leave a restaurant still hungry but this was one of them
S. D.
The veg(paneer)/non veg(chicken starters were pretty good, couldnt find any good taste in the main non veg(chick) course. A bit slow on the service part.
d. b.
