Reviews of Mharsanta - Scottish Restaurant & Bar
Y. L.
I got a bowl of Cullen Skink, I liked it except I find it much too salty. The haggis Scotch egg was also good, except the sauce that came with it didn’t work well or compliment the dish at all. The sticky toffee pudding was nice.
The restaurant had a good atmosphere, quite dark, and the waitresses were kind and friendly. The food came out very quickly.
S. T.
I had a great experience at that restaurant. The server, a young man who claimed was of Polish origin, was friendly and answered all our questions with enthusiasm and provided great advice. I had the haggis and my girlfriend has the vegetarian variant and we both really enjoyed it! Of my whole trip across Scotland, it was hands down the best haggis with neeps and tatties I've had. The desserts were also fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking the best Scottish cuisine dinner experience in Glasgow.

First dinner in Glasgow, and it was a success. Heard about the place from the City Sightseeing bus, looked it up online and decided to try it out. Pics online looked good, menu looked like it had some local dishes, and reviews were good. Never had haggis before, and I thought the easiest way to try it would be in the form of croquettes. It was delicious 😋.
Wife ordered the steak 🍖 pie, which was really tender and tasty.
I wanted the ribeye, however, it was sold out. I had the bacon cheeseburger 🍔, and it was good. The only issue I had was that the fries 🍟 weren't hot. I'd definitely go back to try the ribeye.
The stff was friendly and knowledgeable. The ambience felt good, with several large parties that looked like locals having dinner.
A. M. R.
Very busy. Chips overcooked and not crispy as felt they had been cooked a while ago and kept warm. Would have preferred fish batter crispy as although tastefully was a bit soggy.
S. D.
The food served here is delicious. The service is commendable and personal. The desserts are heavenly. And the Mojito drink I had was so good 😊
A. C.
Another one of these Merchant City restaurants I'd been meaning to visit for a while and unfortunately another mixed experience.
The starter of Cullen Skink was perfect. It's difficult to make a bad Cullen Skink but this was definitely at the top end. And the main of haggis lasagne was very filling. Unfortunately the bread served with the soup was paper thin and any attempt to butter it was futile unless softened under a hot soup bowl. And the brownie dessert while nice was seriously overpriced for the size of portion.
All in all, a lovely Scottish restaurant - well decorated with attentive staff - but a couple of things that meant I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars
I. M.
Fantastic place with great food and buzzing atmosphere.
Service was good, just about attentive enough.
We had the haggis bon bons for starter and I had the steak and sausage pie, which was excellent, and my wife had the Chicken Balmoral.
Would love to go back when we visit Glasgow again, great time had
L. T.
Lovely restaurant serving good Scottish food. Nice decor and friendly welcoming staff. Had a really good time.
C. M.
Very friendly attentive staff, food was excellent, love the way the Sunday roast comes with an extra dish of gravy, & the cauliflower cheese in it's own dish.
Cullen skink & haggis croquettes to start, then Roast beef Sunday roast, followed by sticky toffee pudding with ice cream & a chocolate brownie with drambuie cream
L. M.
A simply delightful meal, eating off the Christmas menu.
Service was very good, staff very friendly. Setting was intimate and pleasant.
Food was incredible - so fresh, with lots of taste and flavour. Possibly one of the best meals!
Well worth a visit for some high-quality, tasty Scottish cuisine.
M. G.
I highly recommend the Mharsanta. Food is absolutely amazing. I had the Chicken Balmoral and Scottish tablet ice cream. Staff brilliant too.
G.
Food was brilliant. However, felt a bit rushed when ordering. My father suffered a stroke not long and the individual waiting on us was rather rude in this respect, and clearly couldn't see that he has some health issues whjch are pretty glaringly obvious. That said, the place was busy but still, not what you really expect at a good restaurant. The drinks were also a wee bit expensive, and what I assume were "edible flowers" in the drink certainly did not seem edible. Overall, food was great and affordable, service poor due to that experience, and drinks expensive so will take a while before we return.
K. S.
Was looking for a classic Scottish dinner to help warm me up after a long day of walking. The food alone would rate the 5 stars however the service is why I’ll go out of my way to recommend this restaurant to anyone I know visiting Glasgow.
The young lady who looked after me was by far one of the best servers I have seen for a long time, knowledgeable about the menu, friendly (and I mean genuinely, took time to chat and really engage), super efficient and didn’t miss a beat offering drinks/desserts etc. A real example of great service and great hospitality.
I had the creamy mushrooms on toast to start and the haggis neeps and tatties for main. Two dishes I’ve had many times and both some of the best I’ve ever had.
N.
Service can be improved but the food is really good! Recommended!
n. w.
There in Friday for dinner, great service and at no time were we rushed. It was a Christmas set menu so pre order..only negative was I had steak and wasn't asked how I would like it cooked. Thankfully it came medium rare.
M.
Really enjoyed this place. The food and cocktails were outstanding. The best Bloody Mary I've ever had. I recommend the smoked mackerel pate and mussels.
M. S.
The food was delicious and well presented. The service was friendly and on time. The private dining hall downstairs was a bit too dark and claustrophobic, but we still had a lovely dining experience overall.
S. C.
Had an appointment nearby so booked lunch with my husband. There was a good variety of food, Scottish or with a Scottish twist. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back
L. B.
Came to Mharsanta for lunch from Northern Ireland with my family . We all had something different from the menu and each and every meal was fabulous from the kids Mac n cheese to the haggis lasagne , steak& sausage pie ( to die for ) and the yummy haggis burger . Our waiter for the afternoon was Lee, who went above & beyond to make our experience in Mharsanta wonderful, I would definitely recommend Mharsanta for a full Scottish food experience, We will definitely be back, ty for everything xx
M. M.
Wow, stumbled across this whilst in Merchant sq and being unimpressed with the indoor scene.
It was empty when we arrived probably due to weather and early lunchtime arrival.
The lunch menu was extremely good value and two of us ate and drank well for under £30.
I really wanted mince and tatties, was perfect and massive bowl of seasonal veg was crunchy but just needed a dash more seasoning. A nice surprising find
R. J.
The food was really nice I had the Salmon whilst friends had steak etc ..and all said it was good 👍would have been 5stars ..just thought the service was a little slow
T. L.
Been in here a few times now and every time we have absolutely loved it , my own fav is the mussels mmmmm the steak pie is delicious as well
T. E.
Lovely atmosphere staff lovely. One young man made more effort to help with birthday cake etc sorry cannot remember his name .food lovely. Parry of 10. Couple of bits of food was ok. great night all round though
J. K.
Fantastic Scottish food. They said they were busy and the service would be slow but was still extreamly quick. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items!
N. s. M.
The seafood was great and highly recommended! It's one of the best places to get together and have a private hall there! They have really friendly and nice staff!
M. P.
Never ever considered I would see a haggis lasagne... but it was fantastic.
C. “. B.
Great Scottish restaurant. Not ott Scottish. Just right. We were served by Ashley who was `pure dead brilliant`
Have the mussels or the Balmoral chicken. Definately try the Glasgow kiss cocktail.
g.
Excellent, well run establishment. Tasty menu and friendly, attentive customer service. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.
K. P.
First time to this lovely merchant city restaurant but will certainly be back. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious with plenty to choose from.
K. F.
An unusual menu with something for everyone. Nice, helpful staff. Would go again if I were in the area.
A. R.
Reasonable restaurant. Basic pub food. ( prices ok).Great service and friendly staff.
J. W.
Amazingly tasty steak cooked perfectly - honestly wasn’t expecting it to be so good! We were a large table of 17 people and our waitress was so lovely, helpful and patient with us. Nothing was too much trouble and we all had a brilliant meal. Thank you!
W. N.
My husband and I had lunch here today...haggis lasagna and club sandwich.
Both delicious, served hot and made with care.
We loved the atmosphere...good spacing between tables and the music ( very pleasant) was where it should be: in the background.
Great service too.
Definitely among our favourites now.
A. C.
This is a little gem in the Merchant City. The fair is Scottish with a 3course lunch for 1 at £14. To add local Scottish influenced cocktails at £7.50. Staff are freindly and attentive and will try and accommodate were possible.
J. R.
Staff were fantastic, most of the food was very good. Hunter chicken was dry and ice cream was sorby not ice cream some of the bread was hard. Place itself was nice
A. H.
Excellent selection of well-prepared Scottish cuisine, with a decent bar selection. The restaurant can be a bit noisy, and the wait staff was very nice.
L. V.
This was such a great birthday dinner and a great way to end my trip to the UK.
The food was tasty, the service was good and it has a great atmosphere. I'm glad we went here
D. E.
Nice Scottish food experience at reseanoble price
S. N.
Great food!
Service was lacking after meal was first served, e.g., asked for water refill, never came; asked for mustard, never came; never saw server again until she wanted to clear the table
V. S.
Great Scottish food in a nice setting, served by nice staff. It can get quite busy in the weekend so make sure to book in advance.
K. S.
Lovely place for dinner and staff were really friendly , cocktails were refreshing and good scottish food
A. V.
Very friendly and professional staff which is very important to me. If the food was below par, good service would make up for it. The food however is lovely. I will go away and recommend to my friends.
P. M.
The restaurant was very busy but the staff were attentive and friendly. Food was lovely especially the onion rings.
W. P.
Absolutely fantastic , food and service was great. If you want a table book in advance is it is very popular.
R. M.
Beautiful food and great staff. Definitely be back.
a. m.
Food was amazing and staff were lovely and attentive, we will be back😃
R. C.
Delicious food at great prices along with excellent service
D. L.
It was fine, although they scimped on the ingredients in the sandwich. The piece of chicken was very small and there was no bacon. A chicken and bacon sandwich costing around £10 and they make a mess of the filling? Service was prompt. Staff friendly.
E. E.
Nice one. Pleasantly surprised. Sat in a booth nice and cosy. Haggis croquettes were very nice...Happy to take a full plate of them. Mussels and fries...tasty too. Good service. I will be back.
S. K.
I’ll be back!
Set in the heart of the superb Merchant City this lovely restaurant is a must visit!
The Scottish menu is delightful with dishes for all tastes. The haggis croquettes with Whisky sauce are awesome as were the crab cakes with katsu curry sauce that my wife loved.
Opting for a simple fish and chips on a Saturday night seems a bit bland but it was the complete opposite, so fresh and absolutely delightful with the best chips you’ve ever tasted.
With a great setting, awesome food, very friendly staff and very reasonable pricing this is our new ‘go to’ restaurant
G.
Great scottish grub, a fabulous taste of the local delicacies. Haggis was top notch in a variety of ways. Friendly staff to boot! Thanks for a lovely family experience!
S. C.
Great Scottish Fayre...great service and all round great dining experience.
s. m.
Table of 8 ordered food and my burger was cold when it arrived. They did replace it but it took over 10 minutes and by the time it arrived the rest of the party had eaten their meal😭
Not ideal sitting with no food while everyone else was eating. They did apologise but no offer of any discount after a a £280 bill😮💨
F. G.
Lovely Atmosphere. Great food. Friendly Staff.
W. M.
Amazing food, great atmosphere. Staff friendly and lovely Scottish theme.
S.
A very friendly welcome with amazing food, highly recommend haggis lasagne 👍🏼
B. G.
Really enjoyed my lunch but would have liked our starters to be warmer as both the haggis balls and the garlic bread with creamed mushrooms were luke warm , otherwise would have given it top marks
J. E.
We weren't expecting much from this restaurant given how simple and 'pub fare' the menu seemed but we were very pleasantly surprised. Not only was the service exceptional (more so because the woman serving us seemed to be handling the busy outdoor section on her own) but my husband and I both agree that the burger was one of the best we've had in Glasgow. And we've had a lot of burgers in Glasgow (don't judge us! Haha). Can definitely recommend.
P. W.
My partner and I both went for lunch . Staff were very friendly and courteous and there was a Lovely ambience within the restaurant. All our food was of a very high standard and I would highly recommend this for everyone ☺️
M. T.
Very very good food. King scallops were best I’ve ever had. Only 3 for 10 pounds but they’re so good I’m honestly not mad. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, wife got the fish pie and it was perfect. Great Scottish menu
J. G.
Amazing food staff fantastic on the ball very pleaset go back in a heartbeat
J. R.
In Glasgow for the first time and wanted something traditionally Scottish so fortunately we were lucky enough to come across this restaurant.
Covid appropriate as soon as we crossed the threshold and made to feel welcome straight away.
Both decided on a cocktail starter then only had a main meal each, sharing a bottle of wine, but the portions were generous so no need for a dessert.
Happy to report that the staff were excellent in their knowledge of the area and great recommendations to enhance our enjoyment of the city.
Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, and more importantly the staff who supported us
A. K.
Warm friendly welcome. High standard of cleanliness throughout. Staff friendly and professional. Food was delicious - fresh produce and cooked to perfection with warm plates and hearty portions. Will definitely return. 👍
J. W.
Excellent food, great service, and nice atmosphere. The desert and cocktails were average. Went for lunch menu which was great value. Highly recommended.
D. B.
Had a fantastic meal here with my family. Great food food and great service.
D. B.
Had a lovely meal. Would have given 5 stars if the Rib of Beef had been available.
Shame it was so quiet, just hope our restaurants survive this winter with the uncertainty around Omicron.
J. S.
The Veggie Haggis, Neeps & Tatties was so delicious! I usually have doubts about vegetarian meats, but here I was surprised. I would take 10 more portions of this home with me. My friend had the haggis lasagne and it was also delicious. Especially for meat eaters and vegetarians in general, the perfect meal.
D. S.
Food amazing, staff amazing, will 100% be back.
S. H.
Absolutely delicious food and fab service
V. K.
The interior is stunning, the food is delicious and the service is A*, definitely worth having a meal there!
We ordered mussels and chicken croquettes for starter, loved it, perfect portion size and delicious sauces. Had a roast lamb with mash and a burger, definitely one of the best burgers I've had. Great job chef!
b. r.
Excellent service, food and cocktails amazing
H. C.
Lovely food and great service thanks
S. C.
Food good, although portions could be bigger, esp starters. Staff friendlt Table was at back of resturant next to serving hatch so noisy & not pleasant watching staff scrape left overs of plates while your trying to eat.
A. W.
Nice location with good music, excellent food and friendly staff. Definitely a must go on my next trip to Glasgow. Greetings from Germany
R. L.
Went as part of a Work night out and was impressed. Food was good if slightly pricey, staff friendly and helpful.
E. E.
Very nice. I liked the food, deco and service. Sat in a round booth nice a cosy. Mussels with fries were great, lovely sauce. Haggies croquettes were sooo good.
E. H.
My mother and I were very unsure of where to eat and were stopped by a lovely girl at the door promoting the cocktails. Recommended a few and the food and she wasn’t Erin in the slightest. Food was amazing. Place is spotless and the atmosphere was fab. The girls and guys serving were also top class. Defo recommend
J. t.
Stylish, modern, welcoming restaurant. All staff very helpful and friendly. Nice soft music in background and food delicious. Will def be back, thank you
C. M.
This is a lovely restaurant serving Scottish food. They've got a good sized a la carte menu, with lots of choices including vegan options. The food itself is very good. I was there with a large party of people and everyone commented on how good their meal was! Good customer service too. I'd definitely go again, and would recommend.
J.
Visit started well - attentive staff. Scallops cooked to perfection. Then it wen downhill, two steaks arrived medium towards well done when we had asked for rare. They were exchanged with Manager stating that it was 'appalling' and giving us a large glass wine each on the house. The replacements arrived and were medium rare not rare. We ate them and I did enjoy mine. My companion was less convinced. I would go back to give them the benefit of the doubt but not go for steak. Ladies loos had run out of loo roll. Mixed review this time.
J. N.
First time lunch visit. Cullen Skink was lovely. I had the Steak Pie afterwards which was jam packed with lovely meat and was extremely tasty.
Will definitely be back.
S. G.
Beautiful food at very reasonable prices and staff were very attentive. Will definitely be going back
R. A.
It was ok.for a lunch, food was average, service was good. Kids portion was far too big.
I. R.
30th Birthday Celebrations, 26 February. Service first class, food delicous, fantastic night, everyone had a great time. Will definitely be back soon. X
G. W.
Nice vibe to the place and good music. Service was a definitely not the best. I had the veggie haggis neaps and tatties which was average at best. Its supposed to come with a creamy sauce which I didn't want and I suspect would hide a multitude of tastelessness if you go for it. Wouldn't rush back.
C. S.
We were given this as a gift, voucher for two main courses. Lovely setting, friendly staff. We ordered two starters which were lovely, but I'm afraid the main courses were a major let down. My husband ordered the steak pie which in itself was nice, but it was served along with overcooked or reheated chips and veg that was dried up.
My stories were fine but only discovered 3 diced potatoes and a spoonful of turnip. Disappointed.
A. V. S.
Great food, cocktails and service both times I have visited them
R. H.
Ate from the brunch menu and it was definitely better than I expected. I started with the wild mushroom on toast, the dish was perfect, down to the lovely sauce as well as a portion size that did not leave me full. For my main I had the club sandwich. It was served with real bacon and a grilled chicken breast not simple lunch meat. I will definitely be back to sample the full menu.
E. C.
Amazing food, we got the Goats cheese, avocado and watermelon salad. Drinks were fab and the lemon cheesecake was good too!
Staff really friendly
E.
Delicious real traditional Scottish food, very helpful friendly staff, and a relaxing specious environment, with nice Scottish music playing at the background. Put a cherry on top of my first visit to and experience in Scotland.
G. N.
Food amazing..definitely recommend the mussels. Delicious, plentiful and all food good value. Visited on a quiet Tuesday evening. Service good.
E. R.
We had a lovely lunch. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Relaxed welcoming atmosphere.Liked the modern Scottish vibe. Disabled toilet is accessible. Group area for booking downstairs. Altogether a very enjoyable afternoon, would strongly recommend it😊
E. M.
7 of us had a fab meal in here lovey restaurant
G. M.
I had the mix grill and it did not dissapoint.
The food was cooked to perfection. Our servor was friendly pleasant and cheerful .
2 of our party had the good old fish and chips and also not dissapointment there.
Interior is classy and you really are made to feel welcome
C. B.
Fantastic meal of scallops on black pudding followed by chicken breast stuffed with haggis. Awesome cooking and a brilliant atmosphere.
M. R.
Only mu second time trying Gin and the barman was very helpful explaining it to me. Lovely experience in a lovely friendly environment.
J. L.
Food was OK but the drinks were definitely over priced , I would not be in a hurry to return 🙃
S. M.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience tonight. Food was fantastic as were the staff. Can highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back.
D. M.
Disappointed.
Eight of us celebrating a birthday. The decor is very nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. Food wise, disappointing. I had scallops to start - three tiny scallops topped with rather over cooked pancetta. Main course of mussels in white wine sauce were nice. My wife chose lamb shank, which was a good half hour underdone, therefore tough in the middle. One friend had her starter served on top of shop bought brown bread instead of the crisp rustic bread advertised, so it went sloppy and inedible. They had no prawns available, so prawn starter and surf and turf choices had to be changed. Complaints about these issues were met with "I'll let the chef know" responses but nothing further was done. Very disappointing indeed. I've given Mharsanta a very generous three stars.
M. M.
Badly organised kitchen, menu selection is excellent but the end result is very average, nice decor and waiters did their best but chef let them down
J. M.
Visited on Saturday 2 June 2018. What a surprise, atmosphere, food, service all first class! The staff were great, knowledgeable about the range of food on the menu, provided excellent recommendations and were genuinely happy to assist.
Thanks to all for a great evening, looking forward to seeing you all again soon. 😀
l. p.
Popped in here for food without booking. Food was excellent, but service a little slow, especially to get our first drinks. Staff were friendly and apologetic for the delays. Would definitely go back and try it again next time I'm in Glasgow
J. G.
Absolutely brilliant food amazing service brilliant
A. F.
Great food friendly staff.
C. G.
Had a nice afternoon tea here - with prosecco. Very nicely decorated, comfy booths and friendly efficient staff. Recommended.
I. T.
Fabulous lunch on Saturday. Great atmosphere, had a cosy table for two and the best Club Sandwich I've had for many a year. Good quality, reasonably priced and very tasty. Definitely recommend it
P. H.
They catered very well for our special event. Very friendly staff,
J. W.
Lovely restaurant. Great Scottish background music. Lovely staff, great service, food was amazing 👏
I. S.
Swish new restaurant in the Merchant City area offering mainly Scottish staples and wide selection of whisky etc. Modern decor offering booth and intimate seating if wanted (so private is was hard to get a waiters attention without standing up!) Food is offered in a bistro style which is stylish without being too deconstructed or minimal. We ate a selection of starters followed by the sea bass, haggis with neeps and stoves. All very tasty and washed down easily with a smooth Australian shiraz (if in doubt pick the second cheapest wine on the menu!)
Staff were friendly and attentive. Our waitress knew the menu and could answer all our questions. Very enjoyable meal and I would happily return next time I'm in Glasgow.
J. S. (.
Great food excellent service defo recommend
J. W.
Popped in with friends on the off chance we would get a table as it looked nice from outside. Great atmosphere, excellent food and service. Liked it so much I've booked our works Christmas night out in here 😋🙂
D. N.
Cocktail bar in Merchant City. Despite the fairly high prices on the menu, we found all drinks to be £5 – not too bad (maybe a promotion during Glasgow 2018). Drinks were nicely prepared and served. Great place to start before moving on.
C. B.
This is my 2nd visit here in a few months on my travels to Glasgow and I must say, the 2nd visit was far better than the 1st! Had Fish and Chips while it was on offer on their lunch menu and to be honest at £7.95 it is fantastic value, this is none of your Wetherspoons nonsense this is freshly cooked, the fish was a great portion and had lovely taste, the chips were absolutely delicious, unfortunately just not enough of them! 😅
Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Glasgow, The Staff were absolutely lovely and make you feel welcome in such a stunning place, the next time I visit Glasgow I will definitely be coming back here! 😀
M. J.
Visited for lunch midweek and found the place to be an interesting, if confused proposition. The menu seemed very gastropub (as did the 2 silent TVs showing Sky) but the cosy booths seemed like genteel restaurant territory. The music upbeat, loudish and poppy, the decor - a pleasant mixed bag.
Drinks choice was decent and not outrageously priced. Food was reasonable if a little flat in places. Their in-house pie was of good quality, with good meat and was not a "pop on the top" pub type pie. The side veg was a mash that oddly tasted soapy (detergent on the plate or something?) and veg that possibly had been a little overdone and limp.
Service was reasonable and pleasant and prices were ok.
All in all, decent but not currently outstanding in a sea of some strong competition.
S. B.
Great place for a lunch. Mostly Scottish cuisine. Would recommend
S. M.
Food was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. A warm welcome was given when we arrived, however the music is a bit to loud and it feels like your shouting to be heard.
G. C.
Great food and cocktails with a Scottish twist. Friendly staff, very helpful.
H. G.
What a Find!
Amazing veggie breakfast with homemade haggis-superb! Delicious scrambled eggs....poached equally delicious too. All served with excellent hospitality.
J. B.
Very very good. Was recommended by our concierge at Grand Central Hotel. It was the best food we had on our entire 9 day trip to Dublin, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
A. C.
Good quality Scottish food, nice selection of Beers and friendly helpful staff. Great they've continued the eat out to help out offer as well .
A. M.
Food was delicious and well presented, reasonably priced too. Only negative was that staff checked on us what felt like every 5 mins as the restaurant wasn't too busy.
L. A.
Lovely food, relaxing atmosphere, cosy booth and friendly staff. The wine and cocktails were fab too 🤩
A. W.
A very decent bar/ restaurant, I think owned by Eden Mill. I was here at a networking event, a great venue for informal meetings, but the entertainment was definitely provided by the fans of a Swedish football team who were marching from the city centre to the nearby Celtic Football ground
A. M.
Nice place nice staff food average
J. S.
Went for lunch. Nice enough meal, but nothing special. The high banquettes may be good for isolating but lacks ambience.
V. C.
Lovely decor and good atmosphere. Food was excellent with a good menu choice and reasonably priced. Staff were nice and friendly.
D. H.
Lunch with work - around 30 of us, sat at various tables which was fine. Pre-ordered earlier in the day and everything came out fairly quickly without any issues. Food was excellent as was the service.
F. M.
Called in for a pre theatre meal and omg what a treasure. Plate of mussels for a starter was enormous. Steak and fries for main was excellent too...best steak ever. Will definitely be back.
h.
Very tasty traditional Scottish food. Service was good and was easy to get a table at lunchtime on a Saturday. Good value for money.
J. S.
Absolutely brilliant food, Service is braw the background music is Scottish nostalgic lol. Love the place, try the Alba cola bloody good taste just can't say enough about the restaurant.
A. K.
Very disappointed.! Ordered a Corona beer, lime in it told waitress didn't like lime waitress came back with pint glass after bottle with Corona beer clearly been poured in glass! Glad I wasent elegeric to lime!!!
A. S.
Lovely meal last night, steak pie was fantastic. Good service and a nice atmosphere.
L. C.
A surprise find. Lunch menu was very reasonably priced and the food was fab.

Food is quite bland and the choice isn't great on the lunch menu. The decor is very nice and the place is big & spacious. Toilets are downstairs.
M. L.
Fantastic night with colleagues. Restuarant could not have been more accommodating. Food was excellent. Hot and delicious. Credit to Scottish cuisine.
J. S.

Great food. Good prices and happy staff. Traditional food too, feel it's so underused in Scotland and it's lovely to see and have here.
J. J.
First time in the bar and I found it to be relaxed and the music volume was at a level were you can still have a conversation without raising your voice. Staff very friendly and helpful.
K. H.

Delicious food, excellent, friendly service and a lovely place to be.
C. B.
The starter of haggis bon bons was fab, but I had a halloumi salad for a main that was far too plain. The place is meant to be Gaelic Scottish but seems to be missing some traditional dishes imho.
I. H.
Whiskey tasting experience downstairs in s private facility. Very enjoyable.
M. M.
The food was good and the homemade chips were great not those cheap frozen chips. The service was great staff very attentive

Not quite 5 star yet, warm bottle of prosecco plonked on table, after complaint it was replaced with cold bottle and ice bucket, I had a burger one patty cooked fine other one way too pink, as I didn't realise I was getting a double burger I didn't mind just ate one left the other, the other main courses were all good, ribs and 2 fillet steaks, onion rings were delicious, starters were excellent, haggis scotch egg, haggis bon bons, scallops all worth a try.
L. A.
This is a weird place kind of pubby but also trying to be fancy. Quite liked it but wouldn't be in a rush to arrange to meet people there, partly because I never feel confident about pronouncing the name 😉

(Translated) If you are in Glasgow and want to taste typical Scottish dishes, Mharsanta is the perfect restaurant.
Dishes are prepared with the best local ingredients including Stornoway black pudding and Shetland mussels. Inevitable whiskey sauces, delicious appetizers and decidedly abundant main courses. The desserts are mouth-watering good. The best part is definitely the excellent value for money, very affordable, considering the high quality of the dishes.
Dulcis in fundo, the super professional staff, very kind and prepared in dispensing advice on which foods to choose, if requested.
In short, a restaurant not to be missed if you want to experience authentic Scottish cuisine!
(Original)
