Ballinluig Motor Grill and Services, Ballinluig. Large menu with something for all. Ideal stop for a quick meal going up or down the A9. Good kids selection to keep fussy eaters happy. It is good value for money although taking 1 star away a i personally don't like draft soft drinks which is what is offered.

Was here for brunch on 3rd January on trip back up north. Had the full breakfast, it was lovely. Really good quality ingredients. Comprising of 2 sausages, 2 bacon, slice black pudding all clearly from a good butcher fried egg, fried bread beans and slice of toast. Was well satisfied after that lot. The staff are efficient and friendly. The premises is soon to close for a refurbishment so I hope when that's done the only thing that doesn't change is the food.

Hadn't been here for years and I'm glad to say that it is still as good. The food is freshly cooked there and then and you don't have long to wait for it either. A quick half hour pitstop and then you can be on your way again. Will definitely be back again

Staff & Service: Plenty of staff kicking about. Service is quick and simple. I think we arrived at a busy time as they were not too chirpy or smiley. Haha. They were friendly though. Access: Easy access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Food: Simple quick foods. Breakfast: The Scottish Breakfast is generally quite simple. (See Photo) The black pudding was cooked to death but the rest of it was as expected. Deep fat fried and not good for the cholesterol. Lol. I think they just put everything in a deep fat fryer basket and cook it all together. Haha. ITS STILL VERY GOOD! Overall: This is your full on greasy spoon! Deep fat fried is there speciality. Handy quick stop off that gets you setup for your journey. Best described as a greasy spoon truck stop.

Really enjoyed our visit to this place. Really friendly welcome and good selection of roadside grill type foods. Bit of a historic "Route 66" type vibe to it; the A9 would have once passed the front door but now bypasses the village so many may drive past without knowing. Much more interesting than the usual roadside service chains!

Great experience visiting today! Having encountered a closed road ( A827 Logierait to Aberfeldy) I was able to find an alternative route, via a more scenic road (B8019) than that advertised at the scene of the roadworks - due to the helpful staff and their local knowledge. Plus a great bacon sandwich, a good hot chocolate, clean toilets, no fuss, service with a smile. Thank you!

Excellent place, proper roadside cafe just off main routes, worth the 2 minute pull off main road, very reasonable prices. Everything from bowl of cereal to steak and chips or seafood platter. Showers available also, parking little limited but plenty on road if car park full, right next to petrol station. Waitress table service and plenty of seating/tables. Bacon sandwiches are perfect and bottomless tea/coffee. Used by residents as well as travellers.

Food ok with big portions, usually served quickly, staff friendly, possibly just a bit expensive at times, only by a couple of pounds, should have some deals on the menu, like 2 courses for a tenner, really not much choice in the area. Can get very busy too.

The food is okay it's nothing amazing the menu is not very helpful it's has no description to what you are eating (I'd recommend an new menu). And the waiters need there own place to be like a room, as they stand Infront of the counter awkwardly and I thought they were people waiting for a table. Hygiene is not established there, like hair nets and dirty tables I mean this is basic stuff it's not hard, if they had hair nets maybe I would of not got a few hairs in my FOOD. You guys really need to work on this, I will argue that the food was okay and reasonable prices.

If you accept this place for what it is, you will not be disappointed. It does "road side cafe" very well indeed. I've been stopping at this place for more years than I care to remember, and a trip up/down the A9 is made all the more bearable knowing that if I'm feeling in need of some sustenance it will be there for me. We usually stop here if out on the bikes...good food, breakfast is pretty decent using local ingredients, quick service but breakfast plates left for ages on the table. Scottish breakfast is £7.00 not cheap and doesn't come with Toast.. ditched the fried bread and got one slice of toast instead...no real complaints, but no 5 stars due to above. Don't think management read these reviews.

If you are expecting cordon bleu cooking then don't bother stopping it's good hearty food for the traveler and lorry driver alike. Can be busy at times and parking can be difficult but it's well worth stopping in by.

The Ballinluig Motor grill is a must visit restaurant if you are travelling. The food they have is excellent for everyone and I’m sure everyone will enjoy it! The staff are very nice and friendly and service is quite quick actually. Once food was served we were given a plate full of sauces and seasonings like tomato ketchup and vinegar. Next to the restaurant was a Gulf fuel station with a mini supermarket to top up any supplies on the go if needed. Overall fantastic restaurant and would definitely go again!
