Was a bit sceptical due to reviews. Had the Sunday lunch fixed menu & all 13 of us all enjoyed. Between us - fish was excellent, pasta a bit spicy but lovely, roast dinner was brilliant. Staff wonderful and this visit has restored confidence to visit again.

Nice and peaceful place to have dinner. Good menu although they do like adding chilli to a lot of things so a bit more variety rather than chilli something with everything. When that's your only complaint though it's pretty good. Staff were attentive but not in your face and were all very pleasant. The fajitas were delicious and the coffee was particularly kick and smooth as an after dinner coffee. Would definitely go again.

A warm bright clean modern and very friendly conservatory style eateries. A decent menu, comfy seats and tables, spotless loos and attentive waiting staff. Obviously a popular spot for locals as it was well if not completely filled filled over a week day lunch time. It adjoins an indoor dining area for those who prefer that. Spacious dining area well separated with decent social distancing, however the glass house area is a little more cramp. Good service and staff all wear face masks, good on them but it must be extremely uncomfortable for them wearing those over a full shift. Hearty portions of food, good value for money, especially with the dine in help out option

Had a really enjoyable brunch at the Oregano after some shopping at the local retail park, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and food was delicious, the staff were amazing and customer service was impeccable. The menu has a great variety of choices in all genres!

Went for a works night out at a party evening, very nice building and an easy location to get to, staff were mostly helpful, although if your vegetarian we had to answer a couple of extra questions and wait until the meat eaters had almost finished before we got out meal. Entertainment/DJ was OK although we felt is was geared more towards older 50+ people, however our biggest gripe was the overall price. We paid £1440 for 30 people which got us a 3 course meal, entertainment and 25 bottles of bear and 5 bottles of (very cheap) wine. This isn't a bad place its actually very nice, we as a group just felt we'dve gotten better value and more suitable entertainment I'd went into the city centre.

Went tonight with family. We had table in glasshouse. It was really cold and was getting quite uncomfortable. The staff were very nice and friendly but everything took so long which was not great. Felt forgotten about. Food was nice enough. I wouldn't rush back to be honest.

Very nice hall for private functions and events, place adhered to Covid Rules upon entry, very clean great big room with plenty of places to sit, big bar towards the back of the room and giant windows. Food was good and very plentiful and the coffee and tea service was very nice. Great place for a big gathering of people.

Firstly asked £20 deposit to make a booking. Arrived at reception waiter says ‘no booking for Johnston here’. I said must be paid deposit. Next thing oh yes it Is here! I said is the glass house very hot was 24 Deg outside. Yes he says. I said could we sit on terrace as long as we can be in shade. Boy took us to table. Adjusted Brolly so fine. No mention fact different restricted menu on terrace. I asked if could pick from other menu. No is reply ‘they’re pretty strict on it’. So we opt to stick with ‘terrace menu’. Sun moved I asked waitress if she could adjust Brolly to shade sun. She said not really! I said will I do it myself? To which she shrugged. I did it myself. Food was ok nothing to write home about. Got home and realised they didn’t deduct my £20 from the bill. Phoned up got ‘relentlessly cheery’ receptionist said oh if you want to come in with receipt. I said not coming back and didn’t keep receipt. She said send your bank statement showing it and we’ll give you it back. I said what you refund right away. Oh they’ll have to phone you. I said your acting as if wasn’t bad form not to deduct deposit. ‘I’m only the receptionist’ says she’. I said please tell them they should have a system to deduct deposit paid. Not sure would go back!

We ate in the Glasshouse section of the restaurant. Unfortunately it was very noisy due to a party of x8 wedding guests whose conversation increased in volume commensurate with their increasing alcohol levels. The acoustics of the venue only amplified the din. Not the fault of the restaurant of course. However, the meal itself was only okay. Standard pub grub in truth and my party felt somewhat overpriced for what it was. The fish was small and lacking substance as was the steak pie though the chicken and haggis was very tasty. Prices were a little above average for what we had and drinks (£5) for a pint of lager were even more so. An okay restaurant.

Went here for Sunday dinner late afternoon with a friend. We chose to sit in the restaurant rather than in the conservatory area as that was rather busy. Service was very good and we chose the two courses deal which was very reasonably priced. I wouldn't say that the food was outstanding but it was definitely tasty and good for the price so I had no complaints whatsoever and would go back if I was ever in the area again wanting a Sunday dinner.

I was so excited to see the Terrace open for food and drinks once lockdown started to ease. Limited menus, plastic cutlery etc, however the sunshine, the brilliant staff and the chilled out music made it a real pleasure . We felt like we were on holiday and the staff really pulled it out the bag. Well done!

Had lunch there yesterday, told by staff they don’t do a lunch menu despite having had the lunch menu on numerous occasions. Heard another customer asking for the lunch menu and being told they don’t do a lunch menu! Not we have stopped doing the lunch menu or it is not on at present but making out they have never done one when we have clearly had it before. The food on the al a carte menu is exactly the same as had been on the lunch menu but obviously much more expensive like £6 for a starter, £12 for pasta and £7 for an ice cream sundae making for a very expensive lunch and definitely not worth the money, I’m afraid we will not be returning anytime soon which is a shame as it was one of our favourites for a lunch but not on an al a carte basis.

I stayed there for three nights and I thought it was a good place to stay. I had my pug, and he easily adjusted. It is right next to the Vets Park with dog run. So, we went there every day. It was quiet and the outside car noise did not bother me. The staff was very polite and well organized. The rooms were pretty big. No issues with parking. Easy to take out foods. Cab came right away. They did not have any shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, comb, or hair dryer. So, you might want to bring yours.

Extremely disappointed once again by the Oregano management!! Was planning on coming along to pay my respects to a very good friend at the function after the funeral, which now I can`t go along to as function suite upstairs and no lift, I am in a wheelchair. I am hoping that they are being honest when they say they can`t install a lift due to age of building?? Yet there is ample space all around for external lift and I know older buildings with lifts. Also, have been constantly asking them to have small ramp installed so I can get into Glass House, Have they??? NO once again. Very poor and discriminating service, its 2020, try and move on and stop just catering for able bodied, I come a lot to your restraint but will think twice in future!

Eagle Lodge is clean and tidy. Very spacious, free car park. Prices are reasonable. The toilets were clean and quite modern. Staff tidy and friendly. The only thing that lets the Eagle Lodge down is there is no disabled access.

The Oregano Restaurant's food is delicious. There is an extensive menu and no qualms with the staff. If there is a problem with the food or beveridges, the staff are more than happy to sort out the problem. They are attentive yet leave you to enjoy your meal. The Restaurant itself is tastefully decorated. Dark wood floors, tables/chairs and wooden blinds, and a tiled ceramic floor make it look modern. Walking throughout the establishment there is a real flame fire on the wall, again very modern and stylish design and pleasant to the eye. Further on there is an impressive Glass House extention where one can eat anytime of the year, but it is particularly beautiful in the summertime. Now for the reason for the four stars. The ladies toilets are in dire need of attention. The doors squeak ear-achingly loud, the water comes out of the taps so fast that it hits the sink and splashes on the surfaces, the floor, (me) everywhere, not to mention the warm water tap is NEVER EVER warm. Cold is what one gets from both taps in all seasons. Its highly irritating, especially in an establishment such as this. Washing hands in cold water - in an eaterie...tut tut, very unhygienic. Get it sorted Oregano!
