Delicious, beautifully presented food and wonderful cocktails. Staff very friendly. Highly recommended. The truffle fries were and Basil daiquiri were amazing.

The food here is incredible. Each dish is carefully crafted and the flavours are all so well balanced! We will definitely be returning :)

Had dinner at Oscar last night with friends. I follow a plant based diet and had food off the dedicated vegan menu. It did not disappoint! I had the gnocchi, and the humous with flatbread, and was thoroughly full afterwards. Recommend booking ahead - it was a Tuesday night and we got the only free table when we walked in, it is proving very popular!

Went in for brunch and it was pretty packed. Ordered the smashed avocado which was brilliant but a little small on the portion size.
Also the biscoff pancakes which were delicious.

Just came in here for drinks and they were really tasty and good value for their quality. The service was a bit lacking though, often left waiting a while for someone to even notice that we needed drinks, even when it was only us and another table left. One of the staff was just stood most of the time talking to another table and not paying any attention to anyone else. When we arrived I think we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order and that was only because another member of our party arrived which reminded the staff that we had booked a bigger table and that they needed to join tables together and therefore move other diners that hadn’t booked. I’ll come back but keep the poor service in mind

Thought the ambiance is good. It is ambitious and new. Limited range of beers. Limited and bland vegan options. Had the sweet potato option. Most expensive vegan option as one of my plates. Was disinterest ING and small portion for the price. Might go back if menu improves.

I liked the restaurant. It feels they use very fresh and good quality products. They have many vegan options and all of them sounds delicious. I got the vegan eggs for 9 pounds. Also ordered an Americano, but found their coffee quite weak.

Honestly, I have never written a positive review about an eating place, but , Oscar's was fantastic, not joking , and I have No connection at all to any of the owners or staff at Oscar's- it was Brilliant, fantastic flavours , I had 2 x small plates and dark chocolate mousse, all excellent. my Daughter and her partner were very happy with their meals too (although, they had been before). I will definitely bevback. My only complaint is that there was No Draft beer nor lager which is a definite should be in my mind. Please take note of this management/ owners. Apart from that, Oscar's cannot be faulted, and, this is from a grumpy old man ( ask my Daughter) xx

Decent, and a good night out, but when you're encouraging six dishes of your small plates between two, we need bigger tables! Food was tasty, dont get me wrong the chef clearly knows his stuff, but always got the feeling that whatever had been added last needed to come off (random edible flowers, anyone?).
The decor is good, but we were sat right by the door on a chilly November evening and not entirely comfortable. Waiting staff great. Welcoming & attentive without being overbearing!

Food was great, fresh and tasty! There was a pleasant ambiance and the staff, a little slow to serve, were polite and efficient.
I'd go back for the food and to see if the staff were just pushed today!

Three of us had a wonderful brunch before heading for a weekend walking in The Highlands.
Top spot, friendly staff, good quality ingredients and great coffee.

I love dog friendly places. Loved the food and staff were friendly and attentive.

The best cocktails in Shawlands and possibly Glasgow, the nicest people ever, welcoming you like a family member ( non toxic one) making bespoke cocktails whn you are not quite sure what you want... food also insta worthy making you salivating just a little...

We went in for brunch and had the smashed avocado with poached eggs. Your using that bottled stuff for your avocado with way too much Xanthan Gum in it. Just looks like a green buttery type spread. Tastes like what plasticine would taste like. Seen few others mentioning this also in the past.
Shame as everything else was top drawer and will be back for couple drinks.

Flavours are amazing, but the portion sizes could be that wee bit bigger for the prices asked (another sign of southside gentrification)! All in all very accommodating for veggies and meat eaters but could do with distinction between vegan and veggie - some of us want cheese and not just a go to vegan menu! Service a bit muddled/slow but a nice vibe overall.

Excellent brunch menu, dishes were really good and big portion sizes.
Great drinks selection and well priced.
Front of house very pleasant, professional and keen to look after you

Lovely venue and nice staff. Baked eggs were way over cooked though. Also a bit disappointed that the eggs are not free range. Oscars, surely you can set this out?

Great food and great service. Seen a few vegans complaining ( what's new).

Hello and thank you for checking out my review - I promise you 2 simple things 1. it will be fair and unbiased, that is to say it will be free from influenced by fear or favor 2. whether anyone finds iþ agreeable or otherwise it shsll be the unvarnished truth.
It is late afternoon when we enter there are two couples already seated - we enquire from the staff whether they have a free free they wave a casual arm and invite us to pick any which are unoccipied.
First thing which struck us was the tables are extremely compact - the compact pot plant fought with the 4 glassez, 3 small plates and 2 side plate with cuttleryfor space - and ended up being moved around like some sort of berserk chess peice. We were frequently encouraged at various times in by our server to offer drinks - however upon perusal of the rather unexciting range and the taffiff I felt the Pol Roger in the window of Oddbins much more appealing.
Once we figured out the single paper menu filled the additional role of placemat - tand after much tooing and froing - 3 'small plates'were ordered.
Commendably we didn't have to wait long for our dishes - chunk chips with truffle mayonnaise - a cube of pork with crackling and karate chopped cooked mini apple - and sourdough with olive oil - we suspect the bread had only recently returned from a 'Star Wars' themed party as it was 'chewy' (the rather fetching rebel Wooky').
The olive oil was inoffensive until about two thirds of the way down the 'eye bath' sized dish it was served in - where surprisingly it turned oddly sharp, acidic abd unappealing - an acquired taste at best.
Pork belly is an easy go-to-dish, and this offering would not disappoint the discerning dinner - however where I come from dwarf pigs are kept as pets rather than served with sauce.
The chunky chips I am pleased to say could have been proudly served up by either of the most recent previous occupiers of this site - 'Batter In' and the famous 'Blue Lagoon' - and rightly so.
The truffle mayonnaise really did 'nail' the taste of maonaisse - however this bold combination resulted in a mayo the colour of which made "50 Shades of Grey" (a tome now found on the shelf of most of the UK's charity shops) rather appealing.
Decor is innocuous early fish bowl meets plastic plants with the music volume set at level which yhe staff clearly enjoyed but made it difficult to hold a normal conversation - taking an unexpected phone call should not be a major challenge in this era of mobile phone communication - its wasn't polite but it was urgent.
So bring your date here if you wish to impress them with "nouveaux cuisine" and the lost ambience of a Little Chef, and for the record I do sinceerly regret the loss of "Little Chef"
In Hollywood they award an Oscar - a rather smart looking hollow gold plated figurine - to the best, - for example the best director, best actor, best production etc what we have here is an example of an equally impressive Oscar sadly lacking the accolade of 'the best'. On a more ipbeat note - "50 Shades" had a follow up - allegedly - so we will no doubt in return, hopefully to award Oscar a bit more than these 3 stars

First time trying tonight and loved it. Two of us shared 5 small plates every one as good as the other and we had a dessert each...outstanding as well as the staff. Back soon :-)

Just what I needed after a tough week. A tasty brunch, welcoming staff and good chat. I'll be back.

Food was lovely, very tasty and the staff were helpful and nice too. Only fault, I felt, was the lack of space at times but apart from that all great place.

Truly original ambience and, especially original menu - like nowhere else on earth - let alone Glasgow. Friendly staff and relaxed ambience. Hard to believe it used to be our local 'chippy'.

Visited this eatery for the first time today. Food was modern and tasty. Friendly staff.

We came across this place at lunchtime today, apparently it only opened this morning! Had the Salmon Remoulade and it was genuinely the nicest thing I have eaten in a while. Big thumbs up.
F. H.
Great food, we ordered dinner off the vegan menu to share and everything was delicious.

Food is great, service arguably better. Always nice for customers to feel valued and listened to.

Delicious brunch (I had baked eggs) good coffee (hot) and friendly service.

Fresh produce but lacks in flavour intensity.

Service was great, nice friendly staff

Busy, nicely decorated, good food

Fine. Not a patch on the competition they're trying to emulate.

Give this guys a chance and support the new businesses opening up in Shawlands.

My experience was lovely

A wee fancy place with some style. Food good although portions not big and it's not cheap. Worth splashing out though for slick service and people watching. Outside tables are all on quite a slope and watch for the incontinent pigeons on the ledges above. Direct hit. 🤬
