Reviews of Rishi's Indian Aroma
U. L.
Dosas were good.. And matched our expectations. Few items that we asked for were not available ( Rose milk, sweet lassi) . There aren't much desert options. We ordered their desert sample platter and it wasn't that great! The gulab jamun was burnt on one side.
The filter coffee was really good.! We ordered two starters but they ended up serving it after the dosas🙄. Overall an average experience
C. B.
Loved the experience dining here and trying their dosa! So big and tasty. Also the chilli squid and chilli chicken were delicious starters.
k. a. r.
Some of the best Indian food I've had in a while.
There chicken tikka is the best I've had. Definitely recommend. Also their Mango Lassi is great. Range of food and drinks. Friendly cheerful staf. High overall quality.
Absolutely loved the whole experience.
We met some few Indian people among staff and from the same home place they recommend us best food and prepared according to our needs.
And special thanks from me and our friend's to @GARSE DEEKSHITHA 😊. She is very kind and recommended the best food what to have.
Definitely recommend Rishi's aroma indian and will go again.
V. P.
Great place for Indian food in Glasgow. Dosa and Chole Bhatura were good. Filter coffee was refreshing. Keep your expectations low if you are an Indian, because everything is bound to taste a little less spicier here. Lots of seating, but gets crowded at times so always better to reserve a table beforehand. Excellent service. Definitely coming here again.
k. s.
Well cooked and well presented….and service from the staff also superb, Highly recommended specially staff name called she is really good in service
M. C.
Glasgow sleeper!! Phenomenal food and service, thank you Mo. Friendly staff and atmosphere.
A. C.
I went there once to eat with friends, following a recommendation of a south-Indian friend. The interior design is rather simple but the dishes in which the food was served, were nice and ornamental. We enjoyed the food and the amounts were good too.
We were served by Mohamed and his female collegue and they both looked elegant, professional and polite. All in all, I recommend this place and will go back if I have a chance!
L. S.
Decent food where you get good south Indian food. The only problem I had was with the staff. Nobody bothered to ask us for our order until we called them and placed the order. They took long to serve us too even though the restaurant was almost empty.
e. a.
Exactly what we asked for! Attentive staff! Beautifully spiced food ! Lovely atmosphere and most importantly clean! Will definitely vist again when in Glasgow!
M. S.
Excellent food - dosa and biryani is very good.. our usual go to south Indian place for many many years. reasonably priced with some real anomalies such as three pieces of chicken in the photo for 6 pounds
Update today on the notice..see photo. You can loose a belonging and that can be left on the premises, BUT how can your belonging be STOLEN and at the same time be left on the premises..
I must say the quality of food, service and communication among the waiting and kitchen staff was not good today..
A. L.
5* for food and service. The food was soo fresh and tasty, the veggie samosas were the best I've ever tasted. The staff were friendly and attentive. I'm just gutted we are not local because for sure this would be a place to visit regularly
J. N.
We were travelling from London as part of a family group. Found Rishi's Indian Aroma on Google and wanted to give a try and was not disappointed. Great food and great service and comparatively great price too ! Worth checking while you are in Glasgow
R. D.
I've been frequenting Rishi's about 10 years now & unfortunately the quality of food has gone down. Suffers from high levels of inconsistency. That being said, it is still the only place in the city centre where you can get a reasonably priced dosa. Encouraging to see they have finally improved the decor recently!
A. P.
Me and my friends visited this place on 30th Dec night for donner. We ordered chilly chicken, lamb chops, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, naans and biryani. Taste of all items was average. Biryani is not recommended if you like Hyderabadi style biryani.
Service was below average. I would not recommended this place if you are looking for authentic Indian recipes.
A. K.
One of the best places to visit in Glasgow for tasty South Indian food, we tried masala dosa, idli and orange juice, they were all super super good. Also, the chutneys and sambhar were quite tasty, i totally loved dining out here, also the songs were lit 🔥🔥
A. K.
If you are looking for South Indian cuisine especially Tamil Nadu / Chennai (Madras) cuisine then this place is a must try.
Surprised to see that they mentioned 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒏 65 - 𝑩𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊 𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 special dish. If you have tried the dish in the actual Buhari Hotel from Chennai then you might like the one that they serve here. The taste was close to that. But you might not see the 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒏 90 dish which is actually very famous in Buhari Hotel - Chennai.
Z. K.
Had an amazing Paper Roast Masala Dosa, the waiters were really friendly
and great value for money.
R. C.
Perfect if you love south indian food like Masala Dosa, Idli, Vada etc..
I come here every month and my office colleagues also come here specially for Mango Lassi
Visiting Rishi's means you are sure that you will have healthy & hygienic food
I love this restaurant and shall keep visiting every month and recommend others as well.
Rishi's Staff is very friendly, they respect customers
C. S.
Ate takeaway from here two nights in a row while visiting Glasgow. Had the chicken jalfrezi and chicken vindaloo. Both excellent. Excellent portion size too. Very fast takeaway.
R. S.
I order online frequently from Rishi's and no complaints. However was little disappointed with few items like Idli and Vada which were not that fresh. They were prepared in the noon and reheated and served in dinner.
So as per the staff, Best time to have them is around 3-4 pm or may be in the morning.
A.
Food is absolutely fantastic. Probably the best Indian restaurant I've been to. Their samosas are absolutely outstanding and size portions of the main courses made it hard to finish the meal. The curries were very fragrant and the chicken was just cooked to perfection. I find that in a lot of places chicken pieces in the curry are quite dried out but at Rishi it was tender and juicy. I couldn't recommend it enough!
A. G.
Yummy and one of the best places to have Indian masala dosa..
Friendly atmosphere
Great customer service
Prices are so reasonable
I've been here a good few times for sun brunch..
If you havnt tried it yet, then u missing out
A. M.
Wrong timings updated on google. I have wasted my 15 mins of walk looking around for Indian food, however the person said restaurant is already closed as its Sunday but google shows 11pm. If correct time is updated on google then it will save others time as well.
G. B.
One the of the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. The quality of food suggests why it is also ranked one of topmost on TripAdvisor. Do try South Indian specialities like Dosa. It was amazing, but bit careful and ask how spicy 🌶 you want. Their bar menu is also nice and very reasonable priced as compare to most other restaurants in town. Definitely for a family treat. There is little waiting most of the time to get a table but staff was really courteous.
A. W.
A must go place if you're craving for decently priced and tasty south Indian food..this Restaurant offers quite a good variety of north Indian delicacies as well..including some yummy desserts and array of starters too ! Don't miss out on crispy podi dosa, sticky toffee pudding and south Indian breakfast platter ♥
J. T.
Go for the peshawari naan and Saagwala chicken. Amazing aroma and combination. It's the culmination of the south Indian and north Indian cuisine .
K. B.
Delicious masala dosas and lamb biriyani! Friendly and kind waiters. Very welcoming. Lovely appropriate decor. A must!
A. k.
Authentic Indian food.... delicious and tasty with warm staff.
Dosa and chole batura was amazing!
The staff was welcoming but one guy who hushed us back to the waiting area because we went directly to the eating area. Looked kinda racist with his treatment.
M. N.
Felt like home ,The dosa , Chicken fried rice and a few starters along with spicy sauce was amazing b
A. Y.
Few dishes are really good like chhole bhathure and Gobi Manchurian. The staff is bit unsatisfying... my personal experience twice.. The tea is not Indian chai being such a good food restaurant, I expected that.
A. P.
Great place. Very affordable food. Really nice ambience. The food tastes good. It makes you remember the taste of India.
Although the service can be improved. We have to wait for 10 minutes for the bill after we were done eating.
A. A.
Great indian food. The ambience was also decent. The staff was friendly. This would most probably become my go to choice when I'm craving indian food.
T. S.
Dosa is great and quite big for one person to finish. Chicken pepper fry was fresh and tasty 😋 Filter coffee is a must have 😀 Overall good experience as service was quick and efficient too. Thanks 👍🏼
l. l.
Such fresh food! My friend recommended me here a couple days ago. The portion size was so big!
I must say sauces tasted so fresh.
Will definitely be back for a Friday treat. :)
C. M.
So glad we came across this place the food was excellent. Service spot on .
Will definitely be back .
I would definitely recommend.
R. K.
One of the best authentic Indian restaurant in the city centre.
I have been there many times. And each time loved it.
Almost all the options are very good and must try.
If you going for the first time do try chicken/lamb/veg ghee roast dosa and filter coffee.
A. S.
Staff can be bit rude at times.
Some dishes are worth the try especially dosa and chana bhatura.
The quality of food is good and ambiance is really authentic too.
The food you great over is one of most authentic Indian food you can get in the city.
Please book in advance to save yourself from the hassle.
M. I.
Brought up my mother and father in law all the way from London, was a bit stressed about finding the right place, five stars wasn’t enough for Richis ! This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, the staff is also really friendly. ( Mohammed ) was an amazing host, he made us feel welcome, Stuff know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some Indian classic, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Glasgow. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Glasgow. Highly recommend
K. L.
Best vegetarian food in Glasgow. The chef made special daal without onions on our request. Defo must visit
P. k. S.
Family visit recommended only and only for south Indian dosai, please never try chicken 65 there they serve it as chicken pakora,0 mark for Indian food there. Replace for chilli 🐔 that come like this.i am going to that restaurant when it was opened 2013.still did not improve service all unexperienced staff, short of staff always.we all friends goes there instead of banana leaf I always recommend this place for dosai
C. R.
Walking through Glasgow we happened upon this place for dinner. The rice is fabulous, order the pilaf. The sauces were a beautiful balance of creamy, rich, and mild heat. It was a bit loud so a bit challenging to chat. A bit pricy.... Chicken Tikka masala was 10.95£ .. Or 18.97 CAD. So a little over priced. If you go .. plan ahead. Order one dish.. one rice ( enough for two) and nann (2 pieces each) .. share the sauce over the rice... And the meal seems more appropriately priced.
A. D.
We ordered a high quality ingredient authentic dosa, but the paneer butter masala and starters were average.
The two things holding this place back were
1. Atmosphere: The inside of the restaurant feels like being inside a giant empty aquarium tank because the lights are so cold and harsh. The grey walls make the atmosphere feel a bit grim.
2. The service: although everybody was very kind and polite, it felt as though it was everybody's first day working as a waiter. All the staff seemed a bit confused and ditsy, and after a while it got a bit annoying.
s. p.
South Indian food was very delicious. North Indian dishes were ok ok. Staff is very professional and the price is economical. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for South Indian food.
K. v. C.
One of those close to home restaurant, we went around 9 pm, the service was great the food what we get was delicious.
We ordered Dosa and Mysore bonda although the main things were great,
The sambar and coconut chutney was pretty bland.
The important part of eating a Dosa is the sides and it was a let down.
It was a mismatch between the Dosa and Sambar. Dosa is a 9 and Sambar is a 2. I really hope they fix the Sambar.
Service, ambiance and most of the food was good.
V.
We have been fan of Rishi's Aberdeen for a while now. So when we stumbled upon the Glasgow branch, we gave it a shot. Being a south Indian, I know how hard it is to find authentic south Indian foods and Rishi's is one such rare gem. We ordered two varieties of Dosas and mini idli. Finding mini idli is equivalent to finding an oasis in the desert. The mini idlies were exactly like its made back home in South Indian restaurants and Dosas were on par too. They were served with four types of chutneys and sambar. The chutneys were authentic south Indian and not the sweet chutneys catered for the western palettes. It's huge relief from the usual punjabi/pakistani 'curries' that are sold in the so-called Indian restaurants here. We also ordered naan and mutter paneer. Their paneer was prepared chettinad style something we truly enjoy the taste. The naan was soft and fresh too. All in all I highly recommend it to those people who adore authentic South Indian food. They also offer south Indian thali but only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I also want to thank the staff for their prompt and professional service.
B. R. C.
We've been in Glasgow for a week. This restaurant across the street from our hotel we stopped by before we leave tomorrow might be the best place we ate all week. I had chicken curry saagwala. So so good.
a. b.
Tasty south indian food , must try dosa here witth coffee. Mango lassi is also good here .
However below things to consider.
1) its kind of at -1 so not a wheelchair accessible entrance
R. S.
Fantastic place for South Indian food. Recommend Chilli fried idly and Methu Vadai. Liked the Sambar and Chutneys too. Food tasted like a Mumbai restaurant!
Certainly go here for South Indian food in Glasgow!
D. A.
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 4.5/5
Hygiene: 4/5
Food: 4/5
Value for Money:4/5
Initially made to wait before I got a table to eat , however once I got a table the staff was extremely friendly and the service was quick. We mainly had their south indian food which was recommended by others to us and I must say it was better than the Sarvana Bhavan that you generally get outside India or the Middle East.
The Idly could have been better as it seemed to be a little hard comparatively. I also cant agree less that the food is expensive but Indian food in Europe and the UK is comparatively (but the quantities of the dishes I had were filling).
Personal Favourites: Puri Bhaji and Gulab Juman
A. H.
Authentic South Indian style taste, limited variety but no limited taste. Service was excellent and food presentation was great.
B. B.
Food was nearly Indian. I really enjoyed the Sambhar and Vada. My friends had Masala Dosa and Idli, which was also the best in Glasgow in their opinion.
B. P.
Very good food. Good quality and quantity other than any Indian restaurant. Best place for Indian food.
R. P.
Tried mutton sukka and Dosa. Was closest to Indian cuisine than most Indian restaurants in the UK. Must go! especially if you are craving for south Indian food.
R. S.
Everything was good until last visit.. food was cold and glasses were not clean.
J. M.
Feels sooo good to have crispy hot dosas. They actually make really good crispy paper dosas. The sambhar and red chutney is totally worth it!
S. P.
Good place to have Indian cuisines in Glasgow. The portion is very good, find it difficult to complete the meal.
S. K.
Definitely recommend if someone is looking for a south Indian taste. The food is good not only for a dine in but also for delivery, most of the times it was good with very very few times being oily which is something I personally didn't like. I'd definitely recommend for others to try. Tried most of the dishes in their menu, definitely recommend!
C. T.
Lovely food bright fresh decor, pleasant prefessional staff. Didn't know this place existed, what a pleasant revelation.
T. r.
Awesome food and in affordable prices, great staff and friendly service. Recommend having to check with staff for fresher food options.
B. P.
Very tasty and delicious south Indian food 😋. 5* for the service and cleanliness. Helpful staff. Yummy desserts 😋.
D. S. H. B.
This is a simple unpretentious, quick service, no-fuss eating restaurant for mainly South Indian foods and some Indian dishes.
Popular with Indians and also locals.
Friendly staff with average decor.
Great location and vegetarian and vegan friendly.
R. C.
Guess coming to Glasgow and having an obligatory Indian meal can be striken off my list. Or can it?
The thali was as good as you would get it in bangalore.. For A moment I thought it to be right around the corner of my in India. Its THAT authentic. The tastes and flavours were extremely good, with a healthy dose of spices. Contemporary Bollywood songs too lifts the mood up.
Week be going back for more. :)
A. H.
Excellent food and having eaten Indian food for many years I was very surprised to come across something new. Dosa! Will be on my list of favourites now...check it out🫔 delicious 👌
D. W.
Really good dosa, I couldn't recommend it more. All the prices are very reasonable and the staff are lovely too.
E. B.
Masala sardines for starter and special biriyani for main. Great flavours. Large portion for biriyani, tender chicken, almost perfect lamb and one very tasty king prawn!
S. K.
Love this South Indian place. The food here is delicious, whether it be curry or South Indian dishes. I always order a dosa and nothing beats it. They offer a variety of chutneys with sambhar. Definitely worth giving this place a try if in the mood for Indian food.
V. S.
Had the mango lassi & channa bhatura. Absolutely delicious, reasonable price! Will definitely be going again.
s. r.
Fantastic dosa, a south indian breakfast dish which for unknown reasons is not popular in this indian loving city. Rava onion is my go to but have variety of s indian dishes, veggie, vegan options as you would expect, friendly service. Perhaps not as spicy if you Indian food fan but can crank it up simply by asking.
R. K.
Was there at noon on a Saturday. Had Methu Vadai and Masala Dosa. Did not know the Dosa would be that big. It was tasty, had a great time!
g. s.
We ordered Idly, Dosa and Lamb Kola Urundai.. the food was good and the service was quick.. over all a good place to try South Indian dish..
S. R.
Very good authentic south Indian food.. you won't go wrong by eating in here.. Ambience is normal but main thing is the food n customer service, which both is very good.. food prices are reasonable and their lunch menu is good too, try their south Indian thali.
R. P.
Excellent fooD. Authentic Indian Food. Great service.
Sorted!
N. G.
Lovely fresh tasty food. Decorated to a good standard. Staff are pleasent.
Masala dosa is awesome 😊
N. N.
Very tasty food would be easily 5 stars however £15.95 for sharing platter is a joke there was enough food for one person literally nothing to share lol.
another star down for horrible rude servers.
We spend £98 all together.
Heads up if you order JD with dash of coca cola you will be charged separately for JD and separately for coca cola so keep in mind to order full size of coca cola for your JD since you are paying full price for it.
Regardless of service we have received we will definitely be back hoping for a better experience
L. M.
My husband and I went here last Saturday for his birthday. Absolutely delicious food and drink. The staff are very welcoming, polite and can't do enough for you. The dosa was yummy, as we're the chutneys. The curries were beautiful along with the garlic nan. We loved it that much we're ordering take away from it tonight. Very authentic food and a very popular place. We will always come back here
R. E.
Came here excited to try their filter coffee and was given coffee that looked & tasted like Latte. Food was good but coffee is disappointing.
G. K.
Tasty food. We came to glassgow fro. London for second time and didn't go to anyother place for indian food except Rishi's. Extremely delicious food, fast service and courteous staff.
Chana bhatura and idli sambhar are must haves.
A. L.
I was looking forward to this place, heard about these 5 foot Dosa"s ( massive crepe / crispy thin pancake rolled up) and served with lamb, chicken potato paneer and dips. A little disappointing and also could have been a bit more generous with the paneer filings.
k. v. k.
Very good flavours of south India in the center of Glasgow
A. A.
Nice staff. Standard menu with the addition of dosas.
Average food but Riley naan bread. Huge portions of rice which was nice.
Cartoons on the telly booming out over the speakers was odd.
R. M. H.
Fabulous masala dosa at a very reasonable price. We've been to the Dundee branch too and the food is equally good in both. The family dosa is insanely large and delicious when you have a group.
A. H.
The food was good, but expensive, and the service left much to be desired. Not a good value.
A. N.
Their Madras masala dosa is good.
S. M.
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. beautiful presentation and wonderful dessert. Servers are great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Glasgow .
E. W.
Out for dinner with my husband, not been for a while. Service good, food delicious. Cauliflower starter I highly recommend, normally go for a dosa but decided to have a change. It was totally worth it! Both of us had a lamb main course. Dopiaza and Kadai respectively, both delicious with tender lamb. Looking forward to our next visit ( hopefully sooner rather than later)
S. D.
Go-to Restaurant!
Whenever we come from shopping and don't want to cook food in the evening. Its the Rishi always, started eating here from January 2019, never disappointed. Almost tried 80-85% of its menu till date. Anytime you go, food is always good. Nice to have a descent Indian restaurant in the city center.
L. R.
Highly recommend very good starters and must try house deserts along with 5ft dosa
S. t.
Delicious food. I had saag paneer which was really great. Will definitely be back!
F. F.
Nice and clean ambiance… dosa was good … can improve on chutneys
S. S.
Great food...specially south Indian food.
Authentic food and good quality.
Never disappointed by the service as well as taste.
Must visit for south Indian food in Glasgow
N. N.
Ultimate food but service is too slow and you have to long wait in restorent just to sit even lots of tables are available, because someone will come to take you in sitting area.
C. P.
Great food, terrible service. Best masala dosa I had in UK.
b. s.
For authentic Southern Indian cuisine. No-one comes close to Rishis. The fact that the Indian ex-pat community all eat here tells you what you need to know. Try the Dosa dishes when you come.
W. W.
I'd heard that rishis had 2 new chefs and decided yo risk it cos over the last few years it had gone downhill , but good news , the food was excellent, fresh dosas , amazing lamb curry and good service only downside in my opinion was the table top drinks menus are old dog eared and generally scabby looking , Hey Mr manager throw them in the bin and get new ones , cos I did not want to touch them 😷 .
F. M.
Dosa is great. Also poori. Service is good. I keep going there almost every week. One of the best Indian restaurants in Glasgow on a budget.
B. T.
The food we ordered was very nice, prices are reasonable, but the service was cold. The staff don't look at you, speak to you or show any interest. With so much competition I'd go elsewhere for that reason.
b. b.
Best place for Authentic Dosas in the whole of Scotland. Crispy rava, masala, podi, ghee roast dosa with proper Sambar, coconut chutney, green chutney and red chutney. The Medhu vadai and sambar combination is just out of world. The filter coffee was very nice too. The Staff are very courteous and helpful.
If you are a south Indian residing in Glasgow you are lucky. Even if you are residing in Edinburgh - this is a must do and it's worth the one hour train travel.
P. R.
Fantastic dosa and prices very reasonable
D. S.
Been a regular customer for many years, food and service has always been of exceptional high quality, I am always looked after very well by all staff, especially Mr Mohamed . Prices are very reasonable as well. My favourite Indian restaurant in Scotland.
F. M.
Fell in love instantly. The food is gorgeous, felt slightly bad because I wasn't as hungry as I thought I was. Will definitely be heading back again in the future :)
It is the future and we came back!
b. S.
I came to Glasgow with the family, myself and my wife and little boy fancied something different than McDonald's and KFC. The food was very nice 😋 at Rishis .must try
C. P.
The dosa and mutton varuval were incredible! We got the onion dosa and masala dosa. Very flavourful and (if you are Malaysian/familiar with Malaysian food) very similar to that which you would find in a mamak — which is high praise!
Lost a star from me as the masala chai was disappointing. Tasted quite diluted but I’m wondering if it was because we ate at the end of the day and they batch make their tea daily? In any case, not sure I’d order it again.
Otherwise all was fabulous, service staff were attentive and friendly and I will 100% be returning again.
S. D.
Superb place for Indians in Glasgow near to cinemax one can have a lunch and go for movie experience really my dead taste buds have been reincarnated after too many days after having filter coffe of Indian style. Best place to have Indian food which is located in centre of city bath street. Even rates are reasonable we can find a crowd from every part of the world south and north Indian food is available. Even meals on plantan leaf is available only during lunch time pakka bharteeya restaurant. 100/100
H. S.
Amazing Indian restaurant with variety of food. Their prices are also reasonable and they provide great service. Just loved the food so much that This restaurant has now become my go-to place to eat Indian food. 😍😍
D. P.
Traditional South Indian Thali is being served here... I felt like I was having my meal somewhere in Tamilnadu, India... Good service from staff and Kudos to the team for serving a delicious meal...
H. K. D.
Rishi’s aroma is pocket friendly and taste of the food is awesome. I would prefer Ghee a roast dosa and it’s mouth watering.
P. H.
Fantastic place 5 stars all the way nice and clean and friendly staff.
P. C.
Food had too many onions to bloat out the dishes which made it sweeter than it should be. Place is fine as an establishment but food is adequate. Don't like fenul in my naan either. They should ask. Price is reasonable.
P.
Went with another couple. Not that busy for a Friday. Staff were friendly. service was a bit slow. Had an issue with the vegetarian starter which far to chilli. Compalined and we were told that the chef said that it was meant to be very chilli!!! We were only offered a small amount of yoghurt.
Had 2 meat curries and found that there was not that much. Disappointed with our visit.
D. M.
Updating review after most recent visit. Think this is the third or fourth time I've visited. Each time has been good. Foods been great and worth the money. Staff seem to be really good as well. My only grumble is until today did not know there was a lunch menu as I hadn't been made aware. Could've just been the time I visited previously but I'm sure it was around the same time although it was a bit busier. Apart from that slight grumble it didn't stop me returning as the food is amazing.
P. A.
I am frequent to this place, if you wish to really enjoy your meal then stick to their core competency, which is Dosas (veg, chicken) all sorts. It is very difficult to bear the quality of their Dosas, for a price given.. Really economically planned menu. Portion size is very sufficient, my advice is don't do breakfast, if you are going at lunch time for Dosas. Drinks are slightly overpriced. The location is great, Bath street, makes in the town.. so convenient to walk. However, restaurant is recently refurbished, but, unfortunately, it is not done with good taste. Place looks sad, no music, no decorative lights, which can turn the mood bit off. They must add bit trendy look, remove grey ftom the wall, heavy leather chairs etc. Being downstairs, coming from bright light from outside, it looks more darker.
But, food is very good, no complaints with the food. Keep the good work guys. Sorry, forgot to take pictures of their scrumptious food, next time for sure.

Lovely & Tasty Indian cuisine. Must try.
N. S.
Rishis used to be the best place some time back for South Indian food in Glasgow. But now I think the taste and the food quality is not that good and the taste is not that great
V. N.
idli and dosai/vada/sambar are really awesome taste , felt the same taste how I enjoyed the food back in india(tamilnadu). Variety of dosa's. Indian filter coffee and masala chai are good. prices are reasonable. So highly recommend who wants to try indian food in glasgow especially tiffin items .
J. B. M.
Writing this whilst eating at the best place in Glasgow for dosa. Doesn't that tell you something?
S. S.
Ghee roast masala Dosa is amazing. ,👌👌
C. S.
The service was great, our food came quite quickly and was very filling. Wouod definitely go back
A. K.
Great tasting authentic South Indian food. I love their masala dosas and biryanis. The best biryani in all of Glasgow! The prices are reasonable and the staff is quite friendly. Good service. My only complaint about the place was they don’t do take always or deliveries; but they are now on JustEats. I wish they were on Deliveroo as well.
A. G.
Amazing food best in Glasgow vinod ..sibina.. raj ...
M. C.
Truly amazing place for Indian cuisine.
P. D. P.
I'm grateful to this restaurant as they serve South Indian food items like Idli, vada, bonda, and many different varieties of dosas.
However, to please a south Indian the idli has to be perfect and hence I am only able to give only 3 stars after my visit yesterday.
a. m. k.
I am from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. I was suprised by the authentic taste of the dosa's and vada. if anyone wants to actually taste the authentic flavors in Chennai (regarding the dosa's and vada) I would recommend this restaurant
A. M. J.
Authentic south Indian style food. We had dosas, egg fried rice, chilli chicken all very delicious. Will be our go to place in Glasgow for South Indian food.
g. g.
Really good service and food. Recommend the Malabar fish curry. Very similar to the curries i ate in Kerala, India. Delicious and authentic. Great at the price due to the "eat out to help out" 50% off the bill.
A. P.
South indian dishes are good and chole bhature as well however the quantity is very less.
K. P.
Edited review: I have been regularly going here for 3 years now, but have now noticed the quality starting to decline. The South Indian food is really good, however they have some really weird policies while ordering the food now. For example, I ordered a Chana bhatura that comes with ONE Bhatura and some chana, and when I asked for an extra bhatura (obviously willing to pay for this) they straight up told me to pay for the entire dish again (its like £6). Any restaurant will let you order part of the dish as an extra. The wait staff Ive seen over the past couple of months looks to be extremely demotivated for some reason, I don’t know why it is that way, but its definitely affecting their service quality. The bathroom (mens) is just extremely disgusting. I really do not know how they are not in violation of any health codes. Every single time I have been here, one sink is clogged up with water (and stuff floating in the sink, yuck!) and the other sink doesn’t even get hot water. It’s not a fun experience washing hands here in winter. Just order take away from them as eating at the restaurant isn’t really as good as it use to be.
S. M.
Authentic South Indian restaurant with friendly staff. We have arrived quite late since we just got back to Glasgow after our North of Scotland cycling adventure. Staff who has helped us were friendly and we could still order our meal. It was obviously we had arrived late, but they were still happy to serve us. Food was delicious. The dosas were great ! Reasonably priced.
K. S.
Food is really good but based on my recent experience, the service has really taken a dive. Yesterday with a big party of 12 it took them 30 minutes to take our food order which and that is including me asking about 20 mins in, what happened to taking food order. Staff kept forgetting our orders and just taking forever with anything. I truly hope it is a temporary situation as the food itself is still really at very attractive prices.
E. M.
Food is fantastic - lots of options with fish as well. Dosas are delicious!
You need to have time, as service can be slow.
H. b.
Really lovely and tasty Indian cuisines.
a. j.
This is the best and only south Indian restaurant we find ourselves going back to. Amazing south Indian fare , we usually have Madras masala dosa , kothu porota , lamb biryani ,filter coffee and lemon soda here.. and always found the food to be very authentic and bringing back memories of India
T. V.
new one on me but went with a friend who is a real fan of southern Indian cuisine and he was not wrong. For me food I had not tried before but definitely will again. wish I could remember what we had but it was really tasty and for me not too hot (spicy).Obviously a hit with people from or experience of the regions cuisine so must be good.Friendly service as with most restaurants featuring Indian food.
I. M.
Went to Rishi's twice in the month of January this year. It was one of a kind experience. The food was awesome. Authentic taste of India. In the dessert section, Gulab jamun with ice cream was super awesome. One of my colleagues (Scottish local) tried this restaurant alongwith her family. She loved every bit of it and enjoyed the food a lot. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone in a heartbeat. One of the best Indian restaurants in Scotland. Will definitely go back sometime soon.
U. K.
A great place, in Glasgow, to get the authentic south Indian taste. Visited a few times and had good experience. The staff is polite and helpful.
A. K.
Nice and decent restaurant if you want south Indian taste. We came here many times and the place keep amusing us. Recommended!!
J.
Could miss this place as it's below pavement level. Except the aroma of Indian cuisine. Service welcoming, prompt, efficient, and friendly. Food piping hot. Would definitely recommend.😃
R. Z.
I visited with my whole family a few days ago. There were about 10 of us and the service was absolutely incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and not only that but the service was very quick. Food arrived pretty quickly so we didn’t have to wait for too long. Also the flavour of all the dishes we got were filled with spices and the portion was very decent too. Excellent, we were very pleased.
S. J. K.
Never Ever Disappointed. Always, the Best and Consistent. Affordable Prices and Perfect Ambience. When it comes to South Indian Food, They are the best in the town. Must try. Never bored of their food, taste and Service.
d.
The best South Indian food I've tried outside of GOA India. Very tasty and nice served. Staff is wearing face masks due to Covid-19 situation. Definitely recommended.
R. S.
Rishis is one authentic place for South Indian dishes in Glasgow. Prices are decent and a meal won't dig a hole in your pocket. Food is good and tasty. Has ample amount of seating and parking is on the road.
K. O.
I can assure you won't find any restaurant that makes dosa as good as at rishis. I loved South Indian food and the taste is exactly like India.. 10/10
A. O.
The food is very nice and the staff were quite welcoming. We've been here twice and on both occasions, most of the customers were Asian or Indian, which has to be an indicator that the cuisine is authentic. The only downside is the very grey decor...could do with something more cheerful.
K. L.
Amazing South Indian food. My friends partner is from India and he took us here. The food was amazing and very different from you generic version that we get in most Indian restaurants in Britain. This place is a must try and you MUST order a dosa. It’s also very inexpensive if you try the lunchtime menu. 4 of us ate a feast and drink and the bill only came to £40. I was bowled over by the quality and the service. This is now one of my top places to eat. Please leave a like
D. G.
I'm not very familiar with Indian restaurants, but I have to say this time i really enjoy the quality of the food we had.
The lamb chops was amazing and I've try the dosa for the first time, I really like it!
I really appreciated this dinner, and I will definitely return to this amazing place in Glasgow!
A. U.
Most of the four stars reviews i guess is because of good food. But waitress are pathetic.. They are ignorant and don't show hospitality at all. It's not good be somewhere where waitress behaving like this with you while you eat. Asked for extra chutney while eating dosa and we got it after we gave up. Waitress spill the coffee on the table and didn't properly clean it too.. I understand that mistakes happen. It's just how you can make it up to it.. not by offering something but could be by simple sorry , not just cleaning it half of the coffee spilt on the table.
Great food though.
M. M. D. M.
Good food, really poor service.
Had a booking this evening and restaurant was not that busy. We were shown to a table with no cutlery, and given menus which did not have descriptions of a number of dishes which were a bit unfamiliar to us.
We asked for a jug of water twice and still didnt receive it. Staff were very nice, however we had to go hunting for them to pay the bill.
Nowhere near as good as the Aberdeen restaurant, which has a much wider menu available.
Not sure if I would go back again to be honest.
E. W.
Had never been before but from outside looked inviting. Warm welcome on entrance My friend Phyllis & I got two dishes to share. Food was excellent & portions just right. Staff attentive without being overbearing. Definitely recommend trying this place as my first impression was right & I will be back
R. K.
The best place if you are an avid South Indian cuisine lover. The menu's upgraded but the taste is same
V. J.
Nice Indian restaurant. Good south Indian food. We ordered masala dosa and rava onion masala dosa. Taste was very nice. All the chutneys were tasty, except coconut one. I didn't like that much. Overall food was very tasty. Dosa size was good but I think they should serve some more sambhar i.e. sambhar quantity was very less.👌😊👍.
N. K.
Amazing quality of South Indian food in Glasgow. You will enjoy South Indian food here and it's not being served in any other so called Indian restaurants. In this country all Indian restaurants only just serving North Indian cuisine. If you want taste a different food this is the best.
S. K.
Lovely Indian and South Indian food. Specify the spice levels and you get the taste you want. My family's favourite place! Go on weekdays for lunch and some stuffs are of less price when compared to weekend rates. Go, spice up!!
J. M.
Fabulous restuarant with great choice of food. Our server, Erica, was very knowledgeable about the dishes, gave recommendations and was attentive to refilling our drinks, clearing plates etc. Wonderful flavours, beautifully presented dishes. Couldn't ask for a better Indian restuarant in Glasgow City Centre. Thank you all who work there.
R. G.
It was my first visit to Glasgow and I didn't expect to find an authentic south Indian restaurant in the middle of the town center! The food was very authentic and customer service was excellent. At the same time I would recommend to repaint the walls as there are stains all over the wall!
Overall it was value for money.
G. K.
Good food, even though rishis is famous for South India food, it's North India Punjabi food is also awesome. Its biryani and chef special chicken lollypop is very tasty and must try dishes.
N. S.
A nice place to dine in with friends and family. They offer a wide range of Indian cuisine including north and south Indian dishes at affordable prices. The place often gets full during the weekend and festive season and you may have to wait for about 10-15 mins to get a table. Post meal you can have desserts like gulab jamun, gajar ka halwa etc. Mango lassi is quite nice. The size of dosa and bhatura is quite impressive.
M. W.
Great South Indian Food, great protion size and price. Really good information and service if you have any food allergies. Dropped a star because they use wheat in the idli and dosa batter and that meant I couldn't have what is usually a gluten free option for me at a South Indian restaurant.
K. S.
A quaint place in the middle of Glasgow city and they do a very good Masala dosa. The only thing that keeps me going back to this joint. The chole bhature is decent and a good choice if you want to try multiple items. Kingfisher on tap is always nice.
I was disappointed by the vada, as it wasn’t freshly made but warmed up in a microwave.
Portions are big enough and good value for money.
I prefer going here rather for an Indian breakfast than lunch or dinner.
R. D.
Good for typically Indian food, however it is bit costly and there is "No Take Away" service offered at this place. I would like if they start "Take Away" service if someone is willing to visit and carry themselves. I am not asking for door to door delivery though. Also at this place you will be able to enjoy typical desi music as well. You will get a feel like home.
J. C.
The food in here is absolutely amazing. I will 100% be back. Staff are excellent for service and price in this place was great for the food.
H. R.
I been there for my dinner and it was more then my expectations. Authentic Indian taste and very nice atmosphere. Very delicious food, worth money and very reasonable prices. Thanks a lot specially to Bikesh the manager and faiza. Very helpful and cheerful guys. Thanks again and must visit place.
A. C.
We first visited Rishis about a year ago and it's fast becoming our go-to Indian restaurant.
Superb authentic Indian food serving dishes that generally most other Indian restaurants in Glasgow do not provide, although you can still get the typical curries, etc.
Lunchtime thali is superb and the food in general is very good value. Service is friendly and good, although it's never been particularly busy at the times when we've been (usually around lunchtime or in the afternoon). Well worth a visit.
S. V.
I was staying in the area with a colleague and this was a great Google / TripAdvisor rating win. Both rated the restaurant highly. I would have to agree, the food was incredible, with great flavour and good portion sizes. I would strongly suggest booking as we went on a rainy Tuesday afternoon and it was very busy.
s. P.
Love the Dosa and cutter paneers masala!
U. S.
Very nice place for pure authentic South Indian food.
The sambhar and chutney were too good.
Even tried Indian curries, which were also very nice.
Please visit and do try the vegetable biriyani. Just too good.
A. B.
Tried Masala dosa and Masala tea, both were excellent and tasteful. I recommend others to try.
However customer experience could be improved.
A. S.
Second-best Tikka masala I've had like ever, and I've had at least from 15-20 different Indian restaurants. Staff is nice and friendly. Rice can be shared between 2 people. One suggestion could be the lighting. It's very white and doesn't fit the furniture and/or vibe. They could try with yellow lights from the ceiling for a better mood. Doesn't affect the taste though!
W. M.
Fantastic food - prepared well. Good prices. I will be back
A. S.
Rishi's Indian Aroma is one of the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow for South Indian food. Ordered medu wada in starter and it was soft, eating with chutney and sambar an amazing taste. I had Madras Masala Dosa and was delicious with green and white chutney and, Sambar. It was little bit spicy which was adding more taste to your tongue. Overall service was brilliant. I'd recommend to for Rishi's
S. J.
I had Masala Dosa and Fried rice there. It's superb. One of the best Indian restaurant here in Glasgow. You will not regret it.
PS : I have now been here many times. So many dishes are here are very nice. Please try Mango Lassi.
R.
Regular customer... excellent south indian taste food.. love it
F. L.
Definitely the best restaurant for typical Indian cuisine. One of the best places to dine. Never lets us down. Great ambience, great people & great food. 5+ stars for the great team. Such a homely feeling. Would love to visit this place always. Keep up the good work👍
R. U.
Absolutely loved it, one of the best places in Glasgow for authentic Indian food. Lots of vegetarian options
G.
Very quiet tonight Great food and service as always
D. S.
Service is a big let down . All the three stars are for the chef . Being out of India for four years we were desperate for some good authentic food. Every dish was up to mark and the closest you could relate to South Indian cuisine . This is after we tried x number of restaurants across cities in Australia where we are currently settled . I would have definitely given them a 5 star if the service staff was better . Arrogant and needs better training on service . Especially the ladies who served us . We had to keep calling them back for cutleries and plates . If service dosnt make a difference to you then this place is a must go. Try their dosas , sambhar , porotas, Gobi Manchurian , sardine , chicken 65 and everything South Indian .
S. K.
One of the best if not the best south indian cuisines in Glasgow. Kotthu Paratha is highly recommended. The Chinese cuisine served is Indo- Chinese cooked to perfection for the south asian palate. Took 1 star off the ratings only because a few the waiting staff have some ways to go but am sure that's the easy part....Definitely recommend a pit stop here if you are looking for the above cuisine style.
A. G.
All time favourite place. Very nice and fresh food. The staff is friendly and approachable, they serve order in time.
Dosa's, lamb biryani and kebabs are very nice here.
My daughter love the cone shaped dosa(she call it castle dosa) and vegetable noodles here.
They use very good spices that giver a very nice aroma and taste.
O.
It is a very large restaurant that has many tables and a bar, good for groups and family, service is fast and food is nice
v. p.
One of the good Indian food restaurant in Glasgow. You will be finding here all the most south Indian dishes like dosa, idli , uttapam and medu vada to name few.
Quality of the food is good as well and the service is also good but sometimes on weekend there service takes time.
Menu wise its not costly as compared to other Indian restaurant in city center.
Would recommend everyone to try at least one and have their specie madras dosa.
A. R.
Good authentic South Indian food!! Initially had a different perception before entering the city about this restaurant hoping the restaurant might be very small which will only handle the take away!! But was really happy to find the available options for the loads of varieties of south Indian foods 😃😃. Me and my wife enjoyed the feast starting with Mysore bonda, Idli, methu vada, rava dosa and then tomata rice we and we ended with delicious Indian filter coffee which no English/Scottish/American coffee can equal :) I would recommend Rishis Indian aroma who are foody to taste varieties and believe it's cost effective too!!!
L. R.
Loved the food- I've had take away and dined in and always great service and tasty food! Nice variety and great recommendations from the staff when asked what they suggest 👍
A. J.
One of the best south indian delicacies tried in Glasgow. Your other dishes are also excellent. Keep up the good work.
J. M.
Very good authentic South Indian food. Only been once so far but will definitely go again. The dosas were great ! Reasonably priced.
J. N.
Wonderful meal. Food cooked to perfection, light and tasty sauces, tender meats. Very attentive staff. Highly recommend.
S. M.
We ordered the Rishi's special biryani, comes with pieces of chicken, mutton and a tandoori King prawn. Little heavier on the pocket (11.45 to be specific) but the taste and quantity is very good. They also serve a gravy (they call it the curry sauce), which is really good. You can have that with a naan bread. Only miss was the raita which you need to request separately but they didn't charge us for that. Overall, a must try for the Indian folks around and others who are looking for authentic Indian cuisine.
S. S.
Nice place to have authentic southern Indian cuisine.
Dosas are must try.
S. A.
Food was really good but I find the staff over there kind of rude. Would recommend the food but poor customer service by the staff.
K. D.
Very friendly attentive staff, plain decor lets the food speak for itself.
Partner had the shish kebab, came out with two which was very much enjoyed. I had the calamari which was beautifully cooked, just superb.
Partner had the chicken tikka masala with pilau rice for main and I had the chicken bhuna with mushroom rice, we shared a peshwari naan, all of it was incredible, very authentic regional Indian cuisine.
They have a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages to suit all tastes including green tea.
L. l.
Good Indian food with south Indian flavours
E. G.
Authentic and Delicious South Indian food in Scotland. The Madras Mysore Dosa is a must have!!!
S. “.
Been here 3 times, would be more if colleague liked Currys. Atmosphere can be a bit lacking but for a good Indian meal look no further.
Chicken 65 is the best starter in my opinion, they also do a 5ft dosa which is pretty impressive good for groups too. The chicken jalfrezi is my favourite.
A. M.
Rishi's is a family favourite!! The staff are lovely, the place is nice and clean, and environment is friendly. The food is on another level! It's amazing! The best Indian restaurant ever! The only indian restaurant I would ever recommend!
C. B.
Really worth going to for its more unusual menu of South Indian fare. Good quality, tasty food and pleasant, friendly service. Decor and music choice a bit odd but added to this being a change from the norm.
P. R.
Rishi's is an Indian and specially south Indian restaurant. Very good options for both vegetarian and nonveg people. It has few good veg options for lunch. Ambience is cool and have bar also there. The place can also be used for small celebration parties. Overall nice for typical Indian food.
A. C.
Great South Indian restaurant serving traditional Indian food as opposed to the usual "chicken korma" type restaurants. At only about £6, one of the dosas will easy fill you up but if they don't there's a great selection of small dishes to top you up. If you feel brave, go for the 50inch family dosa.
A. S.
Good selection of North Indian and South Indian dishes. Prices are also reasonable. Recommended. 👍🏻👍🏻
M. K.
Very good authentic Indian food unlike the bastardized versions that you find elsewhere. I am in UK for past few months and was craving home food. This brought back memories. Highly recommended.
A. H.
Came here at 10pm on a Sunday night when food options were few nearby, glad we did! Delicious food, big portions, nice atmosphere (even at that time). Good menu that goes beyond the usual options.
G. T.
Best dosa in Glasgow. Plenty of North Indian food on the menu as well but the south Indian starters and dosas are what keeps me going back. The mango lassi was freshly made and washed down a fine meal. Service slows a little when it's busy but the food is worth a short wait. Prices are very reasonable and they have some great value lunch deals.
A. A.
Wonderful staff, specially Erica. Had more then 3 meals at this resturant and being in scotland this resturant never disappointed me with great Indian taste. Had dosa, chana bhatura, naan and other things and all were very nice and tasty
C. D.
I thought I knew Indian restaurants......until I visited Rishi's. This redefines Indian cuisine and sets the bar at new heights. Beautiful food, perfectly balanced spices, excellent and helpful service, in a fantastic setting (much better suited to an Indian restaurant than the restaurant that was previously on this site). Up there as one of the best restaurants now in Dundee.
S. H.
The food is fantastic and feels very authentic. The service is great and the staff is always very friendly. It's my favourite Indian restaurant in Glasgow by a mile.
S. R.
Slow service, young staff busy, the quality of food has gone down.
N. P.
Delicious authentic Indian classics, 5 foot dosa is highly impressive! For 3 people to share with starters. Mango lassi is to die for...only rather smoothie , as quite thick...which I personally loved :-)
R. H.
A fantastic dining experience! If you think 'Oh, it's a typical India eatery' think again! Their dosas are superb and an excellent draw- I haven't found anywhere in the city that does them quick like Rishis.
S. L.
Very good curry and clearly enjoyed by people who know their curry. Tasty and freshly prepared but slightly smallish portions. Also l, perhaps not as exciting as I expected. Very friendly waiting staff. Will definitely return though.
S. V.
Good food and perfect ambiance.
n. B.
Best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to, would generally travel back from Yorkshire just to eat here again
N. D.
If you are not in Tamil Nadu and want to enjoy the meals, try the South Indian Thali here in the Rishi. Keep-it-up. I enjoyed 5 days of hot lunch time meals. Kaiyala Saapdunga. Thank you: the samayal master in the kitchen.
Besides, i tried Dosa, real treat, even my wife from TN could not match this at Singapore. At this distance from the Dosa country the taste and the texture is more than authentic.
Only suggestion to Rishi's, please change the basumathi rise to Ponni in the meals. Why because the the Basumathi is half cooked.
Only any one travelling to Glasgow from India will understand my message.
WR, Narendran
N. B.
Recommended by a friend and visited... wasn't disappointed. Lovely dosa and and friendly service. Satish was very helpful and recommended the dishes. Would definitely return when back in Glasgow. Well deserved 5star for the service and lovely food.
S. S.
Had an amazing experience in here.
I went in here with my 8 friends and all of them ordered a loooot of food. Everybody's stomach filled with joy of food. I totally recommend this place if someone is looking for Authentic south indian food. Kudos to the chef's.
Staff is nice and friendly.
Thanks for the great food. 😊
S. S.
Food was alright. Nothing out of the ordinary yet expensive
V. S.
Used to be good but last visit was disappointing. Chilli paneer seems to have been miniaturised into portions for infants.
Dosa was still good but sauces provided were again pointless. One dip and they were finished. No attention from staff.
One payment of bill we used to look forward to the chocolate mints but they have now been withdrawn.
I know costs are rising but with dissatisfied customers you don't need to worry about costs as you won't have a business.
Sort it out!
B. S.
This place might look a bit like a cafeteria but they serve some of the best Indian food I've ever tasted. Absolutely top quality.
A. R.
I had dosa at Rishi indian restaurant. The taste was good and the price was reasonable. The service was very quick ( may be because of dosa ) . The boys were polite and helpful. Really worth to have south Indian food
B. J.
Service can use bit improvement. Ambience and taste was good enough. We tried 5 foot long family dosa and it was really good one.
A. S.
Excellent dosa with authentic chatnis and sambar. Couldn't fault the dosa experience. Other food not quite up to the same exceptional standard, but still one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten at in the UK.
G. E.
Rishis is a hidden treasure! Situated in what used to be Sanninos on Bath Street, its not quite as elegant surroundings as it once was but boy, does the food make up for it.
Perfect portion sizes, food absolutely bursting with flavour, light and tasty - not stodgy My eyes are often bigger than my stomach when I go for an Indian meal, but not here - I came away satisfied not stuffed.
D. K.
Location on Bath street is definitely a plus. Serves vegetarian south Indian dosa delicacy with amazing choices including meat/chicken option. South Indian starters masala vadai (lentil based deep fried) is my favourite here. Other Indian curry favourites is also on the menu. Indian beer Kingfisher is on draft. Staff are courteous and overall clean place including toilets. No need to book although on weekends it's safer to book.
N. M.
Overall it's good experience. Staff are Ok. Food is good and tasty. We had South Indian varieties and are delicious. Good place for quick bite.
H. D.
First time trying this Indian we will definitely be back food was amazing and staff were friendly
I. S.
After having a terrible experience at a nearby competitor we decided to look for another restaurant that cared about providing good customer service. Wow, the food was delicious and the server was very attentive. We are very happy that we left the other place and found this hidden gem.
F. K.
Been looking for somewhere to sit and have authentic dosa for ages. Finally got around to trying Rishis. Had Delicious Masala Dosa which came with Sambar, red, green sauce and also coconut sauce. Highly recommend for Dosa lovers or those who have never tried one. Dosa is a thin type of crepe made with rice n lentil batter which makes it gluten free. Masala dosa has a portion of potato mixture inside it. Dosas come with Sambar which is a South Indian type of watery lentil n veg mix. They also come with 3 sauces - white coconut sauce, red chilli sauce and green coriander amd chilli sauce.
M. G.
Awesome food. Great quality as well as quantity.
Will definitely recommend if you are interested in good Indian cuisine...
G. S.
Favourite place for south Indian food. Delicious dosas, great lunch deals.
Would have given 5 stars if would have offered delivery or take away and also, had just a couple of instances of unfriendly service from multiple visits
H. K.
Best dosa in town. Don't like idli but their sambar is very delicious.
B. Z.
This is one of the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. Food is authentic Indian. Service staff is quit polite. Enjoyed my two visit.
Highly Recommended for Indian food
m. s.
We just happened to see this place and so glad we decided to eat here the food was amazing!! We really enjoyed the lamb and chicken dosa!! Proper authentic south Indian food!! Portion sizes were generous and the chana bhatura was delicious!! Very reasonable pricing and service was great!! Definitely worth trying and for sure we will back again!!
R. M.
Never dissapoints. One of the best place for indian food.
k. s.
Great food! Absolutely love the dosas! Service can be very variable...good or too slow. THOSE WITH NUT ALLERGIES PLEASE CHECK WITH STAFF WHEN ORDERING FOOD AS THE FOOD THAT CONTAINS NUTS - has no information on the menu.
r. p.
Great for south Indian food in Glasgow. Have been to many Indian restaurants in Glasgow and this ranks consistently on the top interms of ambience service and food.
G. K. (. H.
Last year we've cycled through south India for a couple of month and since we're back we never managed t experience the same food until we discovered Rishi's.
It is the same food as down there!
Try especially the Massala Dosa and the Idlis!
Amzing! AND CHEAP! We've stuffed ourselves for £12.75!!!
And the Baddham pudding is amazing!
great flavours!
N. K.
Very nice place to have great taste of Indian food....in very reasonable price of good quality and quantity as well..we love their vegetables Biryani and my son like butter Naan and dosa.
R. W.
Really good. Family visit, everybody enjoyed the food, all delicious, all large portions. Price good including drinks and with friendly quick and attentive staff you can't go wrong !
S. K.
Very good food with same north and South Indian spice's, feels like home. Moreover service is good. For almost 4 weeks it was daily dinner place so someone can guess.
D. I. K.
Excellent food. Reasonable prices. Staff was courteous and polite. We ordered Biryani, Mixed be platter, Butter Nan and for the dessert pistachio kulfi + Falooda.
R. P.
The best south Indian resturant I have been to in Glasgow. The food is affordable and tasty. I think they make the best makhni gravy in town.
U. S.
Service was good had to compromise with the taste of food relatively same price as Indiana restaurant in London
N. B.
Chicken kothu parotta was delicious tastes authentic but would have avoided capcicum and carrot.
Chicken briyani was good.

Good food. Nice and cozy place . Loved the spice in madras masala dosa. However , very poor service on weekends. To get the bill it took them 20 mins.

Always my favourite place for Indian food in Glasgow. Great food. Service could be better. Waiters need more training.
C. M.
Great tasting authentic south Indian cuisine. Reasonably priced, definitely worth a try if you've never eaten authentic home cooked Indian food.

“South Indian like Matunga”
We were in Glasgow , Scotland for a day. And based on review , we went to Rishi's. Ordered Paper Roast Masala Dosa. Wow , what a preparation, with great sambhar , chutney. A must visit by vegetarian and South Indian food lover. We ordered Samosa too, that was fine.
A. D.
100% Tamil Nadu food. Also ordered lamb vindaloo, heat of chilli was perfect.

Very tasty good value for money food especially the masala dosa!
Good friendly service.
My only issue is with the lighting, get some dimmers on those spots! 😎
A. P.
Very decent Indian, though prices inside and on the menu outside do not correspond!
R. B. R.
It is a pure South Indian restaurant. The staff do their best. The only thing I would say is it is situated in the basement and there is no disabled access or to take prams. You will have to carry it all the way down on the steps .
K. B.
Authentic South Indian dishes at such a cheaper price in Scotland!! Excellent service as well.
S. K.
Had some very tasty Indian food outside India. Couldn't ask more after a chilly day. Amazing ambience and finger licking south indian tasty food... must visit for everyone who are near glasgow central station

You can't really beat Rishis for a cheap, tasty, filling lunch. The Masala Dosa is less than a fiver, great value and always good service.

A good destination for Asian Indian foodies,
Due to covid 19 only packed food allowed food taste is average since its packed.
p. k.
Best quality South Indian food. Just reduced one star for cost but it might be worth in city centre than any other less quantity buffets
J. B. C.
Been several times, and recommended it several times. Always tasty, with great flavours. So delicious. My favourite curry in restaurant.
T. H.
Fabulous South Indian food.. Something a little different from the run of the mill Indian restaurant. And good vegetarian dishes too. Recommended.

The place which kept us alive with awesome Indian treats ..

Had their lamb beriyani which tasted amazing!! However the Kaseri (dessert) wasn't as good as I hoped. The service was pretty slow.
K. N.
Fabulous choice of dishes exceptionally well cooked. Service this time was not up to it's usual standard, especially for a quiet Thursday night.
A. S.
Very good place for eating south Indian food at reasonable prices.

I. H.
5 star Food, loses a star on slow service and too noisy due to low ceilings and drunks talking too loud. Sit through the back not at the window. Paid cash and they didn't bring back my change!
S. S.
South Indian cuisines are good. North Indian cuisines are ok. Ambience is average overall decent experience
A. V.
I had some food .it was very tasty. I never hadn't have tasty food before from uk.
S. R.
i wish they build up stand and get recognition from the vegetarian society to cater for vegetarian. I. Not sure how the vegetarian food is prepared. Whether separate utensils are used as per "vegetarian society" guidelines
T.
Authentic Indian vegetarian food with great taste.
R. M.

Go-to place for Dosas in Glasgow. Hope they keep the filling portion sizes and prices like they used to be.
P. S.
Best food I've had in years! Good friendly service. If I will go back to Glasgow in the future, this place will be mandatory.
K. P.
I know exactly what to expect when I go to this restaurant. It's an average South Indian restaurant with no specific dishes that are truly good. Everything is average.
P. T.
Dosa in glasgow! one of the best places to have indian food in glasgow. Located in the city square, this is must not miss place for the variety of dishes they serve.

It was the best Indian food that a Canadian visiting a Turkish friend in Scotland could hope for! Delightful dining experience.
s. M.
It used to be great indian restaurant, but not any more. It has lost that charm. Food is okay.
S. K.
The food is pretty good and flavorful. The service was very slow and didn't display the typical Glaswegian friendliness we've seen elsewhere in the city.
m. s.
Excellent service and delicious food. Really enjoyed. Recommended. Best Gobi Manchurian I have ever had.
D. M.
Chole Bhatoora was very tasty
