The food is always excellent. It's not often that I go somewhere and want to try every thing on the menu! Nice, welcoming atmosphere, good service, great food and dog friendly in the bar area. We always try to make it down for the Tuesday pub quiz or just as a wee treat to have dinner out the house. I'm here all the time and am glad to be so local, always a good time out :)

Pre-5pm menu seemed a little limited, but to be fair the whole party did find something they were happy to order and all enjoyed the meal. 3 yr old also very happy with his choice, which is always a bonus, as happy toddler = happy parents! Staff were attentive and food quickly served and tasty. Toilets reasonably well signposted and baby change facility very good.

Great place to go for a nice relaxed drink with the added bonus of free parking in the road outside. As a group we’ve been here a couple of times now and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. One of my favourite places to go for a blether and a drink!

Great food and atmosphere. Spur of the moment family birthday treat which everyone really enjoyed. Decent value I thought too. Service was very efficient, there when needed and left alone otherwise. Usually head into Glasgow for a meal but hadn't booked in time and nearly settled for Silverburn when we realised we'd overlooked Newlands. Better buzz and loads of choice. Can't believe we've not ventured to the area before. Wife took a friend back to Bungo's yesterday and we'll all be going back soon as well as trying other places in the area.

Phenomenally accommodating, fantastically welcoming! From booking to leaving my experience with the Bungo and its staff members had been nothing short of amazing. I had picked up that my booking didn't specify in/outdoor seating, called to check and had a lovely chat discovering that they coincidentally were trialing outdoor seating that very day - lucky! At a first-come basis for outside we came to an agreement that I could check-in an hour beforehand. The weather had been miserable but patches of sun and great service made the experience worthwhile! We'd initially been accommodated with our own table (no one else was mad enough) and attentively served throughout despite us being the only ones sat out. Sharing sides, the rosemary chips and Korean Cauliflower had such standout flavors which went well with a drink or two in hand. Overall, everybody's friendliness charmed us creating a brilliant atmosphere and the food and drinks were a fantastic - everything about our visit made returning to normality an even better experience than we'd anticipated. 5-stars, easily.

Great first place to go after things slowly opening up again, family friendly setting, staff are also very nice. That bloody shame and chilli & ginger mojito mocktails were amazing! Burgers were very tasty to. Definitely would recommend.

The music was too loud and fast, even after they turned it down for us and when busy it would be better not on at all.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch here recently. When we walked in, it was obvious that the clientele felt very comfortable here as they were all engaged in deep conversations. Almost like being at home! The menu offered considerable choice and my vegetarian daughter was also very pleased. Staff were very helpful and speedy. And, to top things off it was reasonably priced.

First time eating here tonight..... Awesome! It was one of their "taster nights".... Lebanese Vegan themed food and it was so good. Six courses and everyone more scrumptious than the previous. They do lots of food tasting night based on foods from all round the world. The staff was on point, service was great too. Look out for the next night as its well worth it.... Good food based on a couple of tasty pub snacks I have had. The staff are usually nice, and I like the ambience on a quieter day. Brunch however, was a worse experience. Our waitress was, frankly, weird - quite rude and with a really odd manner. I booked a bunch of visiting friends in for brunch based on previous good experiences in the bar, but our food took a REALLY long time to arrive and was not that well presented when it did come.

My dad is obsessed with this restaurant. I'm really not sure why since the food is pretty average. Last time I ate here I had the mushroom and truffle eggs- the eggs themselves were rubbery and overdone and there were no mushrooms. Scrambled eggs are pretty hard to mess up, so its almost a feat that a restaurant would manage that. Other stuff on the menu is a bit better, so I'd recommend with sticking to really simple dishes. Service is really, really good, which is why I'm still giving them a four-star review.

I am not local to Glasgow and turned up without a reservation on a Sunday brunch time with my 9yo son and our whippet so didn't have much hope (what with child, dog and also special dietary needs!). The bar and restaurant were very busy but the waiters super helpful and welcoming. We were asked to wait a bit and within 5/10min they found us a table with comfy seats and space for the dog. I recommend the coffee (black and strong) and the Eggs Mornay from the brunch menu. My son loved the lamb and beef meatballs in tomato and rosemary sauce with garlic toast, followed by vanilla ice cream with a side of berry compote and chocolate sauce (he couldn't decide between them so he was given both): he found them equally delicious with the ice cream. A special thanks to Corrie who kindly looked after the whippet so I could go to the ladies' room. Great restaurant, great food, great vibe, we'll be back!

The Bungo is an uber cool venue on the Southside. The staff are friendly and attentive but the kitchen struggle to keep up with orders. The food is good but not great unfortunately, but despite that, the atmosphere is enough to make you want to return.

Visited for the thai pop up event and the food was amazing, lovely atmosphere upstairs when we had a drink before hand. The only thing that spoiled it for us was the rude staff member when we made a polite enquiry as they were running 30-40 minutes late with the event.

Went here for a magic show as part of the South side fringe festival. Billy Reid is a great magician well worth seeing. Had dinner before the show we all went with the special which was a beer and a burger. Surprised to find no choice of either. it was a chicken burger and a bottle of Sol. For under £10 still a good deal and delicious.

Very nice & friendly bar & staff. Food is good. Dogs are allowed in the front of the bar. Good mix of people come to The Bungo & evenings are frequently busy. They've now started a Comedy Club - excellent. The Bungo is where it happens. Enjoy!
