Lovely local restaurant if you're in Cumbernauld. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the manager Andy and our server Hannah could not have been any nicer she was so friendly and efficient. The food was great and was very reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Booked the Dovecote for my hubby's birthday and was so pleased! The staff had dressed the table with banner, card streamers & chocs..... Such a lovely touch & my husband was chuffed to bits! The menu had a great choice, the meal was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more attentive & helpful! Would definitely recommend & go back again. Food and service is absolutely excellent here. Staff are always so welcoming and in a friendly atmosphere. Hana is lovely and so attentive to everyone, nothing is a bother. She is a wee gem. I've stayed at the Premier next door a number of times on business this year so have breakfast and evening meals here on most occasions. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is tasty and great value. All the staff do a great job of looking after everyone. Particular praise goes to the lady who serves breakfast. She always has a smile and a cheery welcome and sends everyone on their way with a decent breakfast in their belly and a cheery "have a good day!"

Great staff. Ribeye was served rare. It should’ve been medium. But it was replaced without question. There is no where near enough pepper sauce to cover a steak and they charge £2 for each tiny serving. Ricotta cannelloni was nice. Parking is very limited as it is shared with the hotel. But of a pain really. We would come back (if they increase the pepper sauce!)

I've been working away from home and eating out for over 20 years and this has to be the best place I've ever been. The staff are amazing, very helpful and informative. I would like to say a special thank you to Andy the regional manager. Kate, Hana, Jodie, Sharon and Donna You all have made my time away from my family worthwhile, I have made some good friendships and will be sad to say goodbye.

Staff where really pleasant, however, we had a very lengthy wait time in getting our order taken, then another lengthy wait in getting our food.. Total time in getting food on the table was just under one hour🙄 hopefully Beefeater will employ more staff going forward. In a positive note the food was very nice. Apologies if this sounds like a conflicting review & doesn't help in you deciding whether to dine in the beefeater.

Turned up at the Dovecote without pre-booking and the lovely manager managed to find us a table....thank you ! Our assigned waitress was extremely nice and very friendly and nothing seemed a bother for all that she never seemed to have minute to turn around. It had been 20+ years since we had last visited as we now live in Inverness therefore surroundings has changed but still a very spacious restaurant and Covid regulations were strictly adhered to. On entering from the carpark you could easily get in with a wheelchair as it is all level. However, once inside, the various areas were only accessible via a few stairs. There were a small number of tables on the ground floor that is visible from the entrance so there may have been more. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the food. The Doom Bar Pie had an overpowering taste of onion which detracted from the taste of the stew and the fried haddock still had skin on which was unexpected and although the waitress apologised for the haddock (we did not complain about the pie) it wasn't her fault, we just did not expect it. When we stayed locally we frequented the Dovecote regularily so this was a "passing through" visit only and therefore not likely to visit in the forseeable future

I had a family celebration dinner ( my sons birthday) here on the 03/03/2022 with 4 adults and 2 children. Before arriving having booked a table I phoned ahead to ask if I could bring a cake, upon hearing it was a birthday dinner the very nice guy on the phone said he would set up the table with a birthday banner and when we got there it was so great , the table was decorated and there was also a balloon 🎈 on the table with fancy napkins as well. The staff where great and had a lot to deal with with us seeing to the kids and ordering but they honestly couldn't have been nicer. The meal,pudding was great and they brought out the cake I handed in upon arrival and when it was brought out lit with a candle the staff also sang happy birthday as well as a few people having dinner at tables near by . Thankyou to all the staff for making it a wonderful day and for having patience with us ,we'll definately be back. Thankyou Julie.

We visit this restaurant regularly as our son who is autistic lives routine and his steak! The staff are extremely friendly and always helpful. The food is always phenomenal. Never once have we had to send back a meal or complain, which is a feat when you go out with a large number of people. The steak is always cooked to perfection and the flavour is indescribable. The changing menus with seasons is a great idea even though a lot of the main dishes continue on again it's great for an autistic child. The noise level is great too for those with sensitive ears although depends on what time you go. The music is very low and I'm sure if you needed to the manager can find a quiet little corner. This has been requested by us in the past and we have been able to still enjoy our meal with our son who doesn't like busy places. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The quality of food and service is top notch and you won't find better within the area.

Usually like going here but this week's experience was poor. Welcome wasn't particularly friendly. I understand the need to complete covid protocols but it can be done in a friendly way. Website for purchasing drinks was poor. All food and drink on one page required endless scrolling, no filters or tabs. Saved my payment details as requested but didn't actually save them. Waited around 15 mins for our 2 drinks on each of our 3 orders, even though it wasn't busy. At a few mins after 10 we were abruptly told they were closed, although advertised closing time was 10.30 and no last orders were announced. 2 mins later were reminded so promptly drank up and left. Won't be back in a hurry.

Was here not too long ago, the front of house staff were very accommodating, friendly and attentive. Although the food wasn't the best, might have just been an off day going by the rest of the reviews but my wife ordered a medium rare steak that came exceedingly well done and dry. I ordered the pork ribs that weren't particularly good either as the meat again was very dry and just slathered in sauce.

The food is good and the service is great, but we've had to knock one star off for reducing the veggie options in the last couple of menu changes (we have a mixed veggie/non-veggie household). Apart from that, the Dovecot is a lovely warm inviting building that has multiple different seating areas partly dependant on time and staff but also for kids, couples and bigger groups. Looking forward to the next visit and hopefully a revised veggie menu.

Really surprised with this place. Can't quite remember the managers name but he was a nice, cool, attentive black guy. The staff were guided by the manager and were very good at looking after our party of 15. Constantly offering to top up our unlimited soft drinks was a very good touch. Pate starter was good, steak main was cooked perfectly and dessert was lovely. Brandy ice cream was like brandy with a wee touch of cream, best I've had. Wee hidden gem of a place, hope I can visit again.

The staff in this place are amazing, we go to the beefeater quite a lot and we always get a warm welcome and fantastic service throughout! Neil and Anna deserve a special mention as there service is always outstanding! The food is really good and is brought quickly, if you can manage the three courses it's definitely worth it. One of our favourite places to eat.

I had lunch here in November and was disappointed to see that Christmas menus were already in place. I felt that the season of goodwill was being abused by a company that was all too keen to introduce inflated festive prices. The food itself was okay but not worth the over-inflated prices. Service was fine and the place was popular. The only positive selling point for me was the Christmas deserts. These includes profiterols filled with amaretto cream accompanied with sherry flavoured ice cream, (Or something like that). It was worth the over-inflated price. Had I dined during December a Christmas menu would have been fine but in November I felt exploited and will not return quickly. Such a shame. Such greed.

Eat there a lot and the staff are always happy to take requests of no sauce / dressings or to switch potatoes for another side. So, food is always perfect and we clear the plates! I have loved the salmon teriyaki, tuna steaks, paprika chicken ... would love the grilled chicken thigh skewers to come back too! Worth every penny. My friend and l had lunch today in the Divecoat Cumbernauld. It was a really fab wee day out. Totally appreciated their due diligence for the Virus and felt really safe. The service, from all staff, was lovely, they couldn't do enough, and all wearing masks ect. The food is of a good standard considering the back of house is struggling for chefs during the pandemic.. I simply could not give 5 stars even though the food was very good. The first helping I got was unfortunately still frozen in the middle. However, they could not apologise enough and replaced the meal without question and offered free dessert. Having been brought up in an hotel, I am aware of how easy it is to pass something simple onto a newer employee who then tries to cut corners not realising the long standing protocols are there for a reason. Thus a meal slips through still frozen inside. It is not really the fault of the establishment.

Sited on a slight hill this restaurant might have been a challenge for someone in a wheelchair. Well placed lift offered generous access to most of the main area. Throwing in a 'curve ball' with an extra tall person in my party didn't deter the efforts of the staff to please and we were soon sitting at a table everyone could get their feet under. Food was however a standard menu for a member of the Beefeater chain although every effort was made to comply to our individual requirements. Staff were always very helpful and made both for an enjoyable meal and time spent.

I was in the Dovecote earlier with a friend, the good was excellent, the staff are pleasant and welcoming. Likewise, a nice atmosphere with low lighting and background music. My daughter, my friend "stewbo" and myself were greeted at the door by a lovely gentleman called Andy, (being a cumbernauld lad I believe he may be known as "Andy fae Sax/Paps"), he was extremely polite, clearly been brought up with manners and etiquette. The waitress, a beautiful young woman known by the name of Hana, (with her bright blue Halloween style contact lenses exaggerating her eye colour) was very efficient; drinks were delivered within 2 minutes of ordering, desserts 3 mins, food ~ 18 minutes. She gave my daughter a farewell and a cuddle. I recieved a farewell and then made it clear that I wanted a cuddle and weather permitting a kiss 😁. 5 out of 5, nice place, I definitely will return. Fantastic staff at the Beefeater and until this evening 28/07/18 same at the Premier Inn. I know you shouldn’t let one staff member influence your stay/review and I haven’t but the receptionist at the Cumbernauld premier Inn, was rude, threatening, bullying and down right nasty and all I asked for was an extension lead for my sleep apnoea machine as the nearest socket is on the other side of the room. Hope no-one ever wants anything difficult as she may become a real monster.

Newly renovated and still smelling of paint the Dovecote has a nice open plan layout with a good atmosphere as well as a good selection of alcoholic beverages. The food is typical of a Beefeater chain and rather costly but that doesn't stop me giving it 5 stars
