I live close to this so use it as a local pub. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The service is always great. In winter the real log fire is a welcome warmer creating a lovely atmosphere. There is a small beer garden area at the rear but it has limited sunlight. Two plates of fish and chips and two glasses of wine came to £40 including the tip. Typical prices for the area, great quality. Would recommend.

Myself and partner came yesterday for a Sunday roast was outstanding food & excellent Service. Wish I knew about this place before, Felt very comfortable! If I hadent of been driving would of loved to tried the cocktails, always next time! On the way out every staff member made the effort to smile and wave goodbye very pleasent. Will be back!

Pleasant, tasty pub food. Service was good. Large range of beers, spirits and cocktails. One, bland low alcohol lager on the drinks menu so if you're not drinking alcohol you're stuck with that, water or sweet carbonated drinks. There is a wide selection of tasty low alcohol beers available these days and interesting mocktails so no excuse for that, hence only three stars.

Lovely food - and friendly staff. Only dropped a star as we couldn't hear with noise and had to ask a few times to get the music turned down! Sorry we are over 40 and all the gigs have affected our hearing!

Went for a Sunday Roast. Fantastic. Portion sizes were good. You're at £20 for starter and roast beef main, so standard but very good meal. Pub has a really cosy vibe with very friendly staff. Would go again!

Been to Drake a few times and I will be there at least a few more. In case you wonder what gastro pub means, The Drake is a perfect definition. Amazing food for every occasion - weekday dinner, weekend luch or even a graduation lunch/dinner. Staff is always very friendly and attentive. If you want a great food but you don't like fancy restaurant settings, The Drake is the place to go.

Great bar but we'll not be back for food. We like this place but having now eaten there we'll stick to just having a couple of drinks. Service was fine but the food was definitely only average. Soup of the day was gazpacho - but was advertised as soup. Pretty sure they thought nobody would order soup on a warm evening so didn't heat it! The burgers were tasty enough but nothing to write home about and the chili jam on the menu (for the burger) was not obvious at all in the flavour.

You could easily rush past this place, not realising it's there - so unassuming does it look. But what a miss! Excellent menu with both old favourites and more adventurous options. The food was lovely, staff are very kind and the prices are ok. They had lost our booking though which meant we were placed right at the busy bar for food rather than one of the booths however all in all it was good and I’d go back.

The bar is characterised by original bare brick walls, coal fire, attractive garden area to front and a heated and fully covered rear garden that also features a plasma screen. For those who don’t wish to exclude any of the family from their weekend of fun, they’ll be pleased to know The Drake are family and dog friendly too. Friday and Saturday nights provide a vibrant, bustling atmosphere with resident DJ’s playing until 1am for those who want to party until late!
