A bit pricey, so not great for people on a budget, this is more of a place if you're feeling fancy and want to splurge on good food. It's a very spacious place, a bit dark even at lunchtime, but overall the atmosphere was great, very chilled out. The cocktails were very good, we had the Flamenco and Fiesta De Los Patios - a great blend of flavours and just strong enough. I had the octopus and squid as a starter, which was very tasty. The portion was large as well, so be mindful of that when ordering starters. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the sauteed potatoes it came with were absolutely brilliant! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and service was consistently good. Overall, I'd strongly recommend this place for special occasions.

Nice and welcoming, as it was my first visit they’ve explained the menu, understood my preference and recommended as per that. Can’t fault the fillet in any way; amazing rich flavor, tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. I would never hesitate to go for it again.

This is my second time to visit the Spanish Butcher. There’s no doubt that the service was extraordinarily good. The staff gave us a detailed description of the menu and advised us on how to order more sensibly. We ordered two starters this time Street Corn - with chess, lemon, chilli and sauce, it was so good. Bone marrow - the wrong dish as I misunderstood the menu, but it was surprisingly good, a little greasy but really tasty and only 💷5. We ordered the 500G of galician chateau with peppercorn sauce. The beef was tender and I think 500G was not enough for two people sharing, 600G might be more appropriate. I’ve read some reviews that this restaurant is a bit pricey. However, I personally think that based on the location, the decor, the service and the fact that the main focus of the price is on the beef (if you order beef to share comes with two sauces and two sides), the price is reasonable compared to other restaurants in the same level.

Excellent. The service was friendly and the food was largely of a very good standard. The olives were some of the best we’ve ever had, croquetas - decent. Starters of scallop and octopus were good but not great - the sauce overpowered the scallops, whilst the octopus was very large and didn’t need the addition of potato. However, the Galician chateaubriand was outstanding; one of the best pieces of beef I’ve ever had. Dessert and cocktails were good and the NZ Pinot Noir was lovely. Highly recommended.

We had dinner on a weekday evening. The place was busy but the waiting staff were friendly, talking us through the menu. We shared Galician pork, which looked like steak in its presentation - it was the best pork I've ever eaten. Obviously, not cheap but worth it for a special occasion.

My wife booked the Spanish Butcher for my 60th birthday. We were welcomed warmly and given a glass of Cava each because it was my birthday. I ordered squid & octopus followed by Abanico Iberico de Bellota. My wife had pork cheeks followed by sea bass. We shared a tomato salad. Everything was delicious and cooked beautifully. Portions are sizeable (we couldn't finish the salad). Service was friendly, courteous and efficient. All in all a wonderful evening.

Visited years ago with some friends and have been very keen to return. While visiting Glasgow again popped back in with my wife for a birthday celebration. Was very happy to see it’s as good as I recall. Service was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were delightful. Steak was cooked perfectly, and the cocktails were enjoyable and interesting. Two courses was also plenty to be a meal, as the portions are generous. Definitely worth the cost, and I will be visiting the next time I am in Glasgow without a doubt.

Lunch with friends on a fairly quiet Thursday. Service was excellent from the moment we entered. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive. I had pork and would say it's the best I've ever eaten. If you like Spanish flavours this is a must try. It is relatively expensive, however portion sizes are good and the quality makes it worth it.

This would have been a 5 star review, because the food was excellent, and the service, to begin with, was also excellent. However I was very disappointed to find myself presented with the bill before our dessert had even arrived. That is one thing, and to an extent I understood maybe wanting to close the till. But to come back with the card machine and demand payment while we are actually in the middle of eating our dessert and coffees, that was completely inappropriate. I would add that it was not late, this was 10.15pm. It was also a birthday celebration, which you know, because kindly you brought the dessert with a candle and birthday message, so I am all the more disappointed that you left us with this negative impression after such a positive start.

Liked it overall but the choice of meat and portion size can be confusing and you WILL spend more than you anticipated for sure... Also it was very noisy and not a relaxing night out for a meal and conversation. It was a Saturday night .... Sure...but the hard "industrial" decor doesn't help soften the loudness of large parties....I'd go again but maybe in the week when it may be a little "quieter"!!!!

The steak here was great, one of the best I’ve had in Glasgow. I would recommend the glacier chateaubriand cut to share - we had 500g and that was enough to be pleasantly full. We also had two sides - cauliflower cheese and manchego truffle fries are which were both great. The staff were lovely and explained the menu well. Service was good too - the restaurant had a chill atmosphere and felt upmarket but not pretentious. I would definitely return.

Dinner was nice however we had a member of staff on the Monday night who was rather rude. Originally the table was booked for 2 people however we asked if we could have a table for 4 instead when we got there plus it was a Monday night so not too busy. The attitude from the woman severing us was uncalled for. She snapped at us saying if she originally knew it was 4 she could of got it sorted. Probably will not be back.

Can't speak highly enough about this place. One of the best restaurants I have been to in the world. The welcome was fantastic and all bartenders took the time to chat while we had a drink at the bar before dinner. The food was sensational; perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Wait staff were excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu and always close on hand for all your needs. There is a great atmosphere in the restaurant with great acoustics; despite the number of diners there is only a murmur of chatter and low background music can still be heard.

Genuinely the best meal I’ve ever had in Glasgow. The restaurant and staff were all lovely. We had jamon croquetas to start which were beautiful, followed by scotch chateaubriand steak. I couldn’t stop raving about them! The only thing that brings my rating down is the fact that there was no acknowledgement of our engagement. There was a contact number to call in advance to mention if there was a special occasion. Of course we called to make them aware of this. Slightly disappointed as we spent a lot of money here and didn’t even get as much as a congratulations! Slightly let-down by this despite the great meal. I can only assume that this was missed? Otherwise it might be a better option to remove the special occasion section from your website as it will leave a lot of customers feeling disappointed.

Late lunch for our wedding anniversary. Very welcoming and nice table.Starters were superb,i had the iberico pork cheek which was very tasty but the winner was the scallops with confit tomato and mojo verde. The scallops were cooked to perfection with a crispy outside but the mojo verde just brought the dish together. Roast lamb was nice but my monkfish tail with chorizo and caperberries was out of this world. Service was attentive and there was a lovely suprise for our anniversary. Excellent lunch and definetly will be back again and the olives were the best I have ever had.

Such an amazing experience coming here for dinner on Tuesday night. The service here is fantastic, all the staff who were on during our visit were incredible. The food here is out of this world! I had a fish stew for starters and it was so tasty. The steak comes per 100g, which I was confused at by first but means it's perfect for sharing. Will be coming here again for sure!

It was 2 of us and we had meat cuts as a starter (5*) and then the sirloin steak(5*) with the bone marrow and the peppercorn sauce (5*), with the tomatoes (3*), the cauliflower&almond salad (5*) and the sourdough bread (5*), plus a margarita (5*) and a diet coke. The people were fantastic and didn't charge for the drinks because it was an extremely busy night so the service was slow but wonderful staff nonetheless. We paid £84 in the end, and it's really worth it for a special night out. Next work bonus that comes our way, we'll be going back to try the porterhouse which we went for, but the only cut available was 900gr and it would have been too much. Our only criticism was the volume of the music, as we had to shout to hear each other. Recommended

Galician Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. Requested it medium rare and that's exactly how it came, with an amazing crust. The sides, sadly seemed like a bit of an afterthought. Sauteed potatoes weren't seasoned at all, either was the asparagus. Truffle fries were good. Garlic butter sauce with the main wasn't melted. It was a sliced pat of butter. A little dissapointing, but not a deal breaker by any means. The starters of pork cheek and scallops were tremendous. Mojo Verde sauce was a little woody and overpowering, sadly. But the roasted red pepper sauce with the pork cheek was outstanding. Desserts and cocktails were phenomenal. Service was attentive and also excellent. All in all, you can't go too wrong dining here.

We went for a rare Scottish chateaubriand with sides of manchego macaroni with crispy pork belly bits and the truffle fries. Every mouthful was delightful. We loved it. We eat steak most date nights and that was one of the best. The fries tasted like golden wonder crisps (we like golden wonder crisps its a compliment) and the mac and cheese was great too. We ended up at the restaurant early and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. On a side note this was a voucher bought as a present for Christmas 2019. After the first lockdown we had it booked for a Friday night. This turned out to be the 1st night for lockdown 2...bit of terrible timing for us. The Spanish Butcher still permitted us to use this voucher. Customer service doesn't get much better. Friendly staff and great chuck. Highly recommend.

Visited the Spanish butcher for my Graduation last Tuesday and the food was just incredible. The most tender steak I have even eaten, my mother ordered the monkfish and was also in awe with the food. Additionally my sister has celiac disease, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that most items were gluten free, including all the steak sauces. This made the entire dining experience enjoyable. Beyond the food, the service was amazing. It felt to an extent laid back but our waitress (a young Spanish girl, didn't catch her name unfortunately) was incredibly well informed on the menu and drinks. Recommending and explaining the items on the menu and also presented me with a complimentary glass of Cava as a graduation gift. I honestly could not recommend this place enough, amazing food, beautiful decor and outstanding service. I cannot wait to come back!

I can only comment on the bar, which we visited on a busy Saturday night. Service was relatively quick and the waiter brought our drinks to our seats. We sat right at the window - and it was a good spot. The only things I can fault were the price of an Old Fashioned (£10? Really?) and the dark lighting...but I guess that’s an atmospheric thing. Would love to return for food - I hear great things.

Absolutely LOVED my solo dinner here. I was only in Scotland/Glasgow for a week, but this new-ish restaurant was literally under my hotel room, so I decided to treat myself. Had a wonderful "Bellotera" Jamon Iberico starter, followed by a savoury fillet with garlic sauce and truffle fries (amaaaaazing steak chips, basically), and a lemon-saffron curd with shortbread. The hosts were lovely, the bartender mixed me some kind of delicious Singapore Sling, and my server was so cheerful she made me suspicious! Thanks for a great birthday treat, folks. Hopefully I'll be back someday to try that Baby Pineapple dessert....

Fantastic food and service. They happily adapted their offering for my rather fussy dietary requirements. The iberico pork steak was phenomenal and one of the best cooked and tasting meats I've had in a long while. My fellow diners enjoyed a terrific burger and beef steak. It was a perfect Birthday meal for someone whose favourite dish is steak. The churros were also well received. Although on the more expensive end I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. My one request would be another gluten free desert option.

Tasty food, but you need to be careful in choosing. The Manager didn’t had a nice attitude with our table, telling us to order soon because to close to closing time even tho we still had enough time. However, Gabriele gave us an outstanding service! Good experience overall.

It does steaks and it does steaks very well indeed. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and take great care in explaining the complexities of ordering your steak. Lighting is subdued, the atmosphere is relaxed. It is not cheap but you're getting prime cuts of beef your money.

This place gets the service agenda! We visited three times this week as we were snowed in at the hotel next door. The food is hot, presented well and tastes of excellent quality. Sophisticated, fine dining and impeccable service. Fish is fresh and you must try the crushed potatoes as a side. The daily soups are hearty and wonderful. We were given some complimentary tastings as we are regulars here and if we weren't doing a dry Jan, Feb and March, we would have had a cocktail as they make these properly. Romance, celebration, saying sorry or just hungry are the reasons to go to the Spanish Butcher and oh yes, visit the loo for the most wonderful soap which you can buy off of the net, which we did too. I cannot say anything negative about this place and as a Mystery Shopper for many high street brands; I notice flaws and here I find none. Well deserved 5 stars from me!

A little tough tbh, but served with a nice salsa Verde and ratte potatoes. I would definitely pop back in once the dust settles to try a bigger cut of beef.

It was nice and the thick cut truffle fries were actually the surprise being very good. Service wasnt great. They were really nice but we had to keep asking for things 2 or 3 times. The quality of food and meat is something elslse here, top notch, and was well presented. It's not an 'on a budget' dinner venue but if you looking to go somewhere special this is the place, you won't be disappointed.
