W. G.Absolutely amazing food and HUGE portions! Got greeted at the door immediately with a dog menu, and the doggos scarfed down their dinner. The drinks were amazing. The staff was friendly and prompt. Although it was a bar restaurant, it was nice and quiet and you could actually have a conversation. Best way to end off our Scotland tour!
T. P.GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE. We reserved a table for 7 people here for a late lunch. The staff were very attentive, I never had to ask for a drink in fact I was double parked most of the time.
The food was great; not too expensive and good quality. The portions aren't massive but that's fine for a lunch. I would definitely go back again.
R. M.We ordered from here and it was the first time I’ve ever felt like I’m eating restaurant quality food in my living room. Well presented despite being home delivery, all roasting hot like it had just left the kitchen and tasted incredible.
Hopefully this is where home delivery is headed because they have set the bar high and I won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon.
D. B.You know a place is to your liking when the first menu you get is the doggy menu. Food is great l, portions are collosal. Nice and quiet on the Wednesday we were there. Great for nervous dogs. Super friendly staff as to boot.
L. N.Bit of a dodgy looking place (I suspect by design) but the food is great. I had the fried chicken burger with sweet potato fries and they were really tasty.
P. B.Great little venue with a small outdoor terrace, nice sun trap on the rare occasion the sun is shining, good beer selection (my favourite Drygates Seven Peaks) and great menu.
Tennents, Orchard Pig, Guinness, Menabrea and tonnes of spirits and cocktails.
Wings Wednesday, £12 for unlimited wings for 1.5 hours and they’re not slow in bringing you out your next portion either.
3 small plates for £10, incredible and super tasty.
And a great value doggy menu! Our little one loved it 🐶😁
M. L.Great pre-gig meal, Chicken Waffles is a winner, staff most cool (even sticking on an NBT playlist for the gig clientele, nice touch), venue quirky and prices decent for excellent gastro pub fare. Definitely get yourself booked in if visiting the Barrowlands
w. b.An excellent restaurant in the East End. We had burger and half chicken with halloumi fries and pulled pork fries. Really nice food, huge portions. Very friendly staff and good vibe and music. Will be back.
T. M.I booked the BBQ grill for a surprise 30th Birthday party and was not disappointed! From the beginning the manager Mel was great at emailing and answering the many questions I had, the communication back and forth made the whole process easy for me. The price per person was reasonable and the food provided was great, the selection and amount of food provided was tremendous! The bar staff, (shout out to Scott!) were so accommodating and kept us fuelled with the best cocktails, nothing was too much to ask from them. The staff were all so friendly, polite, hardworking and would go out of their way to accommodate any requests we had! I believe the staff made our evening as good as it was and I would highly recommend Van Winkle to any persons looking to use as a function or just for food/drinks! Thank you again for making my partners 30th a night to remember!
S.Awesome chicken wings, whole wings...can not complain. Bit out of the way if you're in the city centre bit worth s visit
