We went to this cafe for race week for the first time and now been back 2 more times since to try out the other meals. The breakfast was lovely, the beef roast dinner is delicious and our reaction when the Beef Burger turned up was wow! The staff here are lovely too and made us feel very welcome. They are dog friendly too and even put sausages in a bowl and water down for our little fury friend to enjoy while we were there. We can't wait to try out the Steak night soon Trish!

Lovely friendly welcome, absolutely stunning breakfast that kept me full for the whole day, all enjoyed with a lovely view of the Cathedral.

When I was in residence as organist at Gloucester cathedral for a week two summer’s ago, we decided we should give this place a try somewhat later in our stay. I wondered if the pews came from the cathedral whenever they swapped them for chairs. I’m sorry to say we didn’t try this place sooner, as everything was beautifully done and well seasoned (which is not what I can say for the main pub in town that shall remain nameless, but perhaps they’ve since discovered salt). The lunch is still memorable to this day and the meat and mushroom pie was wonderful. The service was good and it was neat dining on a pew.

Lovely breakfast, warm welcome caters for GF which was great. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Delicious and home cooked

Nice and cosy restaurant, closely located next to the Gloucester Cathedral.
The people working hear are lovely, the food tastes great and the atmosphere inside is calm and relaxing.
Definitely recommend eating places like here instead of those fast food locations.

The cafe is situated just next to cathedral abd I'm sure lots of tourists come to visit it fir a cup of coffee or tea.
That was my first time to visit it. Its small place and stuffy in it,no fresh air,so I decided to be outdoor where there are some tables to sit on . I ordered French fries and a cup of coffee. I didn't wait long time it was served on time. Unfortunately I was disappointed when I saw hair on French fries and that was disgusting, and might be poisonous, I can't stand hair in the meal. My friend told me to take it easy.
If your kitchen staff have long hair (any length that can be tied up or could fall in front of their face) or a beard (anything beyond stubble), then they should be wearing a hair/beard net. Stray hairs can fall into food, which is not only unpleasant but can contaminate foods. If in doubt about whether a member of the team should be wearing a hair net, err on the side of caution.
Hope,my advice will help you to keep your staff well to Hygiene.
Best wishes

Had lunch here after a visit to the Cathedral Lovely food, really friendly staff and a beautiful location.
Also dog friendly with fresh water made available when we arrived.

Lovely little cafe tucked away by the cathedral. Only negative for us was the toilet facilities were a little cramped for nappy changing duties (had to be done on the floor) but that wouldn't stop us visiting again. 👍
