We decided to go to the Bush Inn for my birthday lunch on recommendation from the ladies at work. I was extremely impressed and really enjoyed the food. The place is very tidy and it very presentable. I like the flower walls. There are pods you can hire to eat in, which look really good. We had a picnic bench meal. It was fantastic. Couldn’t quite finish it all but they gave us a paper bag to take away our remaining cake. The staff were polite and tidy, and the food was brought out fast and hot. Would definitely recommend everyone to visit.

Wonderful experience today. Had the picnic bench. £20 per head. Had a bread chicken fillet burger, chips with cheesy sauce and bacon, veg spring rolls and a cottage pie. All wonderful. The puds included a blondie lollipop, Beuno brownie, vanilla raspberry cupcake, a cloudy lemonade also a few other items. Was really fantastic. Only criticism I have is it needs something cheesy on the dessert side of it all to cut through sweetness. Service was great also. P.s you guys need to get a website if you don't have fb it's impossible to find bits.

This is one of the best places I have done. Have to book before and you must order the picnic bench afternoon tea. 10 deposit, and costs 20 per head, but you get 4 snack portions of savoury and sweet on a picnic bench. See photos to see what I mean. Such a great little idea. Nice and friendly staff. Would recommend. Travelled over an hour to get to after wife saw on Facebook. Will be going again soon!!!

Four of us had picnic benches sat out in the glorious sunshine. It was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked and prepared. The staff were very helpful and didn't rush us. Couldn't eat it all so we were given doggy bags to take the uneaten food home

Lovely place, very pretty with friendly staff. The food was great, we had the autumn picnic table, it came quickly and was very tasty. By the time I got to the last item I was feeling well stuffed, the individual items are small by design but I definitely felt like I had a solid meal and a half 😁 Lovely decor as well, including big flower walls for your obligatory Instagram pictures and a cool Halloween pumpkin arch display by the door. Good value overall, a nice experience.

Fantastic views, helpful polite staff, beautifully decorated interior and fabulous food too. I met my friend who I hadn't seen in years at the Bush inn yesterday. It made a perfect halfway point between where we both live. The Bush inn was due to close at 3pm which meant we would have to find somewhere else to go so we could sit and chat. When we told the chap who took our payment (I'm assuming manager) he kindly allowed us to stay on the premises enjoying the beautiful sunshine together. Brilliant above and beyond customer service...couldn't recommend enough!

My wife and her colleagues had their Christmas meal from the festive menu. Their meals were preordered which allowed for very prompt and friendly service. The food was delicious, and there was a nice, relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Oh and their picnic benches are definitely worth a try. Highly recommend this place for food, drink and friendly service.

I love the Bush Inn! Their picnic benches are amazing and the staff are absolutely lovely. We have tried picnic benches in other places but they have been nothing in comparison to these. The Bush Inn are the original and the best! Edit: We have always enjoyed going to the Bush Inn. The food is always delicious. This time we were extra impressed with the service. When we booked, we were told we would be in the marquee. We thought that would be okay but, on the day, there were wasps flying around and the children were getting upset. The staff managed to find us a table inside instead. We know how busy they are and how many bookings they have so we were very grateful that they managed to squeeze us in inside. The staff are always so lovely and helpful!

Awesome little pub in the countryside. After hearing rave reviews about the afternoon tea, myself and friends travelled almost 2 hours to try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed! Gorgeous food, served in a unique way. Can't wait to visit again!

Wonderfully decorated and staff were incredible, plenty of parking and would highly recommend a visit. The walls are decorated through out with flowers, and truly is stunning. We went on a Sunday and the roast dinners looked and smelt wonderful, however we went for the Picnic Bench. Presentation 5Star. However slightly disappointed with the food. First it wasn't bad. Was good but not excellent. More constructive criticism I guess. The deserts served in glasses like mouses etc were divine. But just felt, the chicken burger could be given a bit more love, the sweet and sour chicken could of had more than tea spoon of a sauce on and some of the cakes like the lemon drizzle were rather dry. However the Wife loved it for mothers day, and the theatre of the place was wonderful. I am aware I am a miserable sod, and the above is not a slating more a almost at perfection comment. Keep up the good work and looking forward to coming back if I'm allowed. Try some moist cake this time 😜

Traveled from Wales to try the food here and we were not disappointed! For a Tuesday night at opening time it got busy quickly, lots of indoor and outdoor seating with parking to accommodate. The food was delicious, fresh and suitably priced. 3 of us had the autumn picnic bench which came with a mini steak pie, hotdog and waffle fries, 5 various mini cakes and 3 mini drinks per person all for £20. The staff were very accommodating offering to change the pie and hotdog to chicken tenders for one member of our party. Another opted for the rump steak off the main menu and it was perfect, no complaints. Overall the service, food and decor was faultless, a lovely meal out for a special occasion.

Always delicious, always warm and welcoming and always something different on those picnic benches. There are very very few restaurants I would travel an hour to get to, but this is one of them. We go along every time the picnic benches change and love every single one. Absolute heaven!

I visited with a couple of friends on the 15th April, sharing the spring picnic bench for 3. Due to the rules for corinavirus we were outside in the garden under a marquee. The tables were spaced out and the seats were rattan style with cushions. Perfectly comfortable for eating outside. The view over the hills was particularly nice. The food was fantastic. The beef lasagna was tasty and served in a small dish, ideal for dipping the fries into. The fries were cooked perfectly too! There was a chicken burger which was very good and tasted freshly cooked in a nice batter. Yum. And then the desserts! Wow! What a selection. Yum yum yum! I definitely recommend going here, the only negative I can come up with is that it's too far from where I live (just over an hour's drive). We will be going back soon! 5/5 definitely recommend.

Great value, unique picnic-in-a-pub experience. I would recommend this. It's different and very reasonably priced. You will be full! We had the Easter picnic bench, and it's really impressive when brought out to the table. Such a fantastic idea. Best bits were the savouries- chicken burger, delicious crunchy seasoned wedges and loaded potato skins. Also a mini lasagne which was ok but not great. I found the sweets very sweet indeed. It's just personal choice but I would have substituted one or two of the items for something made with fresh fruit, or even a mini cheese platter or something. I would come again to try another seasonal picnic bench, but would make sure to reserve a table in the old part of the building not the extension.

Cosy, fairly small, fast service and super unique. I’d recommend for lunch as it’s quite out of the way with no signal or WiFi if you need to find your way home. Warning, pace yourself because it’s a lot more food than it looks! You 100% need to book as the picnics are extremely popular and get booked up quickly. What a lovely looking pub. Has all the appeal of a typical country pub. Plenty of car parking and an attractive interior to match it's persona. Barman / Landlord was lack lustre no warm welcome more a right let's get this shift over with. Perhaps an off day. We went straight to the table and the waiting girls were very attentive and welcoming. A real saving grace. We had pre ordered their legendary picnic table. Out it a came in all its splendour. 1st impression and photo value has wow factor as it looks like an artist's canvas. Then we tucked in. Fish and chips, over cooked cheap poss freezer burnt battered fish on nice fresh chips but had to ask for tartare sauce and no lemon. Cheap frozen sausage in batter on a stick with a very nice curry sauce. A cheese burger, stale roll over cooked burger limp brown lettuce needed more than the table spoon of ketchup that was brought out for a table of 4 to help lubricate that burger down. Then the sweet stuff rocky road bar very nice. Victoria sandwich probably good on day it was made but that wasn't anytime soon. Probably same day as the very stale scone, not sure if 2 sultanas make it a fruit one or not with jam and a very nice pot of clotted cream, instant win for me, shame about scone. Trifle was ok. Lemon cheesecake was ok. Orange drink was a bit limp and strawberry drink was I believe a revamped mad dog 20/20 from the 90's. Being charged £5 for 2 glasses of lime and soda water was steep but other bar prices seemed fair. Overall an experience I won't be repeating but fair play for the visual presentation. If the execution could match up you are on to a real winner.

Had been wanting to come here for a long time and finally managed to book a table. The food was good however I felt the service let the experience down. The waitress continued to keep clearing parts of the picnic table away whilst we were still eatting which was strange, we felt rushed, we were never given the price of the picnic table until it was time to pay - I should have asked but it was difficult to get any staff members attention. I would go back if I was passing but wouldn't make the trip out.

My parents hired a private dining pod as a surprise for my 18th. I had been eager to visit for a while having seen the picnic benches advertised on social media, but it absolutely exceeded all of my expectations, the only downside being the limited parking available. The festive picnic bench was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Hot food was cooked to perfection and portion sizes were very generous, unlike a traditional afternoon tea. The staff were so friendly, service was efficient and nothing was too much trouble - they even prepared food from the main menu for two members of the party, both of whom said the scampi was the best they had ever tasted. The heater in the pod worked a dream and the Bluetooth speaker was a personal highlight! The pods have such a relaxing atmosphere and made our experience feel like more than just meal. The balloon and candy cane was such a lovely touch and the Strawberry Woo Woo cocktail was divine. The festive decorations in and outside the pub looked stunning. Absolutely worth the 1 hour + journey and reasonably priced. The perfect experience for anyone looking for something a little out of the ordinary and COVID-safe. We’re already planning our next visit! Thank you so much.

Very instagrammable... we went for my birthday for the spring picnic bench and it looks like a bloggers dream! Lovely idea and the deserts were really good. Sadly the savory food did not blow my partner and I away. We travelled an hour to get there and the cost and drive, for the food quality I would say wasn't worth it. However if you're local then its worth a visit :) It just wont blow your taste bud socks off! Nice though

Temp check on way in, tables well spaced, table service in place, separate entry and exit points. An exceptional example of how distancing should be done. On top of that the food was excellent and service was superb. Very filling mini snack table but bagged up the cakes to take away with us which is a nice touch.

- It's a little expensive here but you do get what you paid for. The team here is lovely aside from one who seems to be a bit of a jobsworth, but some folks are born with a bit of a stick lodged up there. - My last meal here was a bit of a let down, the pie was difficult to eat the fish and chips were so greasy and the scone was stale. - Usually the food quality is good, maybe it's because I went on Saturday and they just use whatevers left over I'm not sure but I won't be going back on a Saturday - Plenty of free parking here right next to the entrance which is a bonus.

Ordered a meal to take away recently. We had fish and chips which was delicious, all served in boxes with usual accompaniments. We were able to collect at a pre arranged times, with no contact. I would highly reccomend the Bush Inn and will I will be ordering again.

Fantastic place to visit. Though out of the way it was still busy, presumably by the well marketed picnic benches which drew myself in! Was running late to our booking but after contacting the Bush Inn they were more than willing to delay our table for 30 minutes which was extremely helpful. Upon arrival staff were attentive and took our drink order which sorting our table out. Within 10 minutes of being seated this adorable little bench dotted with food appeared. All food was hot and freshly cooked, all of which tasted delicious! Though small in size it's surprisingly filling, highly recommended!

Firstly we have seen trade change dramatically during the 17 years I have owned The Bush Inn. In the early years (1995-2004) we had a pool table & darts team, but those friendly locals were 18-25 yrs old - they are now i n 30-40s with mortgages and children. The majority have moved out of the village due to high house prices. Once the smoking ban was introduced we found more and more people requiring good pub food- as a consequence we removed the unplayed dart board and pool table and redecorated. The reduced supermarket prices for alcohol has played a big part in the demise of the British pub. We open lunchtimes from 12 and evenings from 7pm (saturday 6.30pm) these have been our opening hours since 1995. As for saying we are inconsistent, I have been the chef since day 1 preparing fresh, home-cooked value for money food and have many loyal regular customers. Drinkers are very welcome here - not just those that are eating. We will be celebrating 18 years of successful business in May.
