Fish was decidedly watery and batter fairly tasteless but the actual fish was quite nice big flakes.
Really bad was receiving two very very dirty spoons with the drinks, which while mistakes happen, it was so obvious it shouldn't have
Didn't get anywhere near enough milk and tomato sauce wasn't available as standard and when supplied wasn't really enough for two meals.
Restaurant was pretty clean but dismal. Minimal decoration other than of photos relating to the business.
Service was brusk without much cheer but just about attentive enough.
For near £20 for the two meals I would expect a lot better. Best fish and chips in Hull? Hate to see the worst if that's that case
J. H.Always spot on. Friendly staff, attentive, personalised service and exceptional food across the board, exquisite taste and very generous portions. Always fresh and cooked to order. Just had large fish and chips with traditional patties smothered in gravy and onion vinegar. I'll keep coming back. Thanks. James.
S. N.When I first came to Hull in the late 70s,
The first takeaway food I had was Bob Carvers in the market place, comeing from West Midlands, I'd never tried a pattie, or seen diced up onions in vinegar, or mint sauce to accompany pattie chips, wow..Awesome.
Today I went to Bob Carvers in town, and had the same.
Fantastic! BoB and staff you are a credit to your Catering/ Food business!
The chips were cooked to perfection! Scraps on top! Pattie
D. M.Ordered Lemon Sole, chips are soft. (Prefer a little crunch to them) mushy peas are bland to point of tasting watery. The Sole taste nice was a little greasy but the batter was crispy. Staff are friendly and polite, very relaxed atmosphere, restaurant area could do with brighter lighting, but an all round nice place for a bite to eat.

H.Bob carver's has been in hull many years always good quality fish and chips it was the home of the hull pattie i remember the outside market were Bob's father and grand father had a fish shop under canvas with saw dust on the floor how things change they even had a fish shop on Withernsea market until they closed the market down but the only thing that hasn't changed is the quality of there fish and chips there is 2nd bob carver's in hull 1 in city centre and 1 next to trinity market if you come to hull you have got to try bob carver's
S. S.Great quality Fish and Chips available in multiple portion sizes. We visited here whilst Christmas shopping recently and got a table without any waiting. They offer table service and the staff were very prompt getting the food out. Everything tasted delicious and the prices were very competitive. You are also able to takeaway as you would at a typical Fish and Chip shop.

The staff are nice, service is good and it's clean but has seen better days. A very good cup of tea, and it isn't expensive.
