J.Not local but had a bit of time to kill, went in for a coffee and a slice of cake, staff were friendly, cake was nice, ordered through QR code on table and my order was on the table within minutes. Everything was clean and seemed like a very chilled environment. If I’m ever in Hull again I’d revisit.

Only things wrong was we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive (again it was delicious!) And there was no check back in the tables from the staff running the food and drink out to customers

N. J.We've eaten here quite a few times, quite busy, a historic and popular place with views over Princes Quay. Also an outside (with heaters) seating next to the Quay. Nice sharing and individual plates. Lovely range of hot, cold, soft and alcoholic drinks.
Went for my birthday with family and were given a window seat so we could watch part of the Hull Art installation Light Show (see photos).

Accessibility - this is a historical building and so mixed, there is a small seated area on the ground floor, a few steps in and to the loos.

C. W.The image of the flat bread serve does not do it justice. Falafel and hummus with salad in, served with chips and coleslaw. My fridn bought the meat lasagna and the cheesy garlic bread. We could not believe how amazing the food was. All so fresh. Staff are great, very helpful and tidy. Work well on their own and together. The area is a polite part of Hull, you're sitting along the Dock where the fishermen used to come in and anchor down. The museum viewing out onto the dock has a window where the "head guy" so to speak would sit, at the window, watching the boats coming in. (Do not judge me on the word head guy haha history is not the reason I am here 😂). I'm not sure about the men's toilets, but the walk to the ladies is very nice. Mcoys building itself is very prehistoric. This area helps make Hull beautiful again.

The owner who had been serving us could see that there was a lot left on their plates,asked how things were,was given a reluctant response (because we tend not to complain.)
To his great credit he deducted the cost of the fryups.
So well done to him.
There were plenty of people in and out eating so we must have just hit a low point of the chef's .

A. J.On arrival, everything was explained clearly and in a friendly manner by who I assume was management or senior staff. Easy to order and drinks/ food were served fast. Food was hot and very tasty. Only suggestion I would like to make is that the younger staff seemed a little inefficient, this is not their fault, I feel it’s inexperience and maybe a little extra training could be given, they seemed almost unsure on how to speak to clientele so felt a little uncomfortable and awkward. Such as placing the tray on the table and standing over us....it wasn’t said until after an awkward silence that we needed to remove our own food plates etc off the tray before they would remove it. Maybe a confidence thing? Overall, we would return.

Fairly bustling atmosphere, almost always fairly busy but good, large outside space & very central attractive city centre location. Not open late very often but perfect for quality breakfast, lunch or afternoon treats. Their one weak point is not having a very staggering range of cakes but otherwise food is excellent quality & good quantity

D. E.My wife and I chose a table outside because it was a sunny day. The outside area is protected by glass screens which keep the wind out and it was a pleasure to sit there. We both chose baked potatoes with a topping and side salad, and we both had a nice cappuccino coffee. You go inside to place your order and the food is brought to your table. All necessary hygiene precautions were taken by the staff! It was a relaxing lunch at a very reasonable price, reduced due to the government's "eat out to help out" discount scheme. I would recommend McCoy's even after that discount ends.

C. B.A few years ago I might have rated McCoys a 4 or even a 3, the service could be ridiculously slow at times, and the food lacking at times. However after one instance of being left waiting over an hour for my food and complaining, the service has greatly improved along with the food. The portions are generous, reasonably priced, a good variety of food and drink, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating area has smoking and no smoking sections, and is ideal on a warm summer day. Now one of my favourite places to eat.

S. S.Always reliable for good fresh and healthy food options, the menu has reduced somewhat over the years, but still has a decent offering for most people. It's also in a great location with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. They offer a broad variety of drinks and really tempting deserts are often available too, although they do sell out being so good. The staff are pleasant and helpful, always enjoy visits to here, it's a long standing favourite cafe personally.

My pasta was just about cooked and had too much pesto, the burgers were barely cooked and full of gristle, same with the bacon, and the whole burger was dripping with grease. Decent polite service and my rekorderlig came with a clean glass with ice with rasperries and mango slices so not all bad. I'll come again for coffee and drinks but never food.

Have to say it was more latte-esque (double shot of espresso in a medium to large mug, about a 10oz drink it seemed) espresso itself is medium-dark roast from what I could taste, )

E. M.I love this place best coffee ever been coming for couple of years now every Saturday morning is my ritual. Owner and staff so friendly nothing is to much trouble. I've now started taking my grandson in the week when I have him they all make a fuss and he at 13months likes to investigate everything there is but they just make him feel special and play with him if not busy... The food is fantastic and need to bear in mind that there can be a wait when busy but it's worth it and good food freshly cooked does take time if you want something in your hand in seconds then Mcdonalds is down the road... This place has got it right I don't go anywhere else... Thanks to the McCoy's staff for a pleasurable visit every time..

R.This is my favourite place to go for breakfast in Hull. The food is great, the drinks selection is vast (including freshly squeezed orange juice) and lovely staff. Reasonably priced and nice whether you sit inside or out.
R.Always enjoy coming here as food as pretty spot on and filling. Only gripe would be the baby changing facilities. Trying to change my son in a tiny cupboard with no room to move is not the most comfortable experience. Other than that, highly reccomend

A. L.McCoys is an excellent spot for a little lunchtime snack. It's got lovely views and it's drinks selection is enormous (I want to say they have at least 10 hot chocolates to choose from at least!) and you must try the homemade lemonade.

J. B.Called in for lunch with my daughter and was shown to a table for six on the top floor. Served hot drinks first and food came about 10 minutes later. I had the pulled pork flat bread, my daughter had the falafel flat bread, both served with chips and coleslaw. We weren't offered any condiments but they weren't needed anyway. The food was as delicious as it usually is but the room was so cold we had to keep our coats on and I covered my legs with my scarf it was so bad. I can only presume the heating is broken or the radiators just weren't turned on. Two other tables of diners asked to move when other tables became vacant so it wasn't only us feeling the chill. I wouldn't let this put me off going again though as the food is always good.
