First time we have visited The Greek and what a fabulous experience this was. Staff welcoming and attentive throughout our time at the restaurant. Food is amazing, both taste and presentation. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Will certainly be visiting again soon. Highly recommend.

Well popped in her to see how it was with the wife at 4pm ish yesterday (friday) so it was quiet. Baby's? Or Harry I think he called himself, the manager, Greater us with a warm welcome into the cosy and spacious restaurant. Inside is lovely, decorated with flowers and plants giving a warm interior. There is a secluded booth for larger groups, we sat by a radiator as it was cold out. I ordered a Mythos beer and wife had a lovely lemon drink Loux I think. Not sour or sharp nor sweet or tasting of saccharine. So, food wise, we ordered calamari, tirokafteri, spanakopita, dollars and Olive bread made that day. I have to say the food was so fresh and the hot starters exactly that. The manager did a quick check back, not in our face or hanging around but polite and brought extra lemon wedges. The food was full of flavour, beautifully cooked and not heavy on the chilli in the dish with them. We took our time then had a pork and chicken gyros (no photos of these as huge and tbh the best I've had). The thyme/salt coated chips were superb. Nothing was greasy or overloaded in oil. All that food plus 2 beers and a softie for 42 quid, money we'll spent in this Greek family run restaurant. They do takeout too. Toilets were spotless. Fantastic and well worth visiting. I'd suggest booking as doesn't have loads of tables. We will be back. Loved it.

We shared a great mixed grill sharing platter that was certainly plentiful for two, with a side dish of halloumi fries. Fast friendly service. We'd made a booking and I doubt you'd be able to walk in off the street on a Saturday evening as it is a popular place. I enjoyed a dark beer with my meal which was comparable to a European dunkel style. Overall: highly recommended dining in a very popular location.

On first impressions I was underwhelmed. The interior is simple, like that of an Aegean coastal village, washed blue woodwork, white tiles and simple wooden tables and chairs. Not particularly loving the fake vines and flowers on the ceiling. That added nothing to the ambiance except looking cheap and gathering dust. The restaurant was a lot smaller than expected, but cosy. Authentic greek music playing in the background,but not too loud, making the atmosphere feel very relaxed and comfortable. Clientele were a mixture of cultures including Greek or Cypriot, which is usually a good indication of the quality and authenticity of the food. Service was attentive and tables were sanitised before being seated. Hand sanitizer also available on each table and strictly table service, which most of us prefer. Going forward I hope this remains. The menu isn't crowded, cold meze dishes and hot meze dishes, should you wish to pick and mix as a party. Plus meals from the grill which consist of Gyros,Koftas, Sausage and cutlets. There is a specials board with traditional Greek dishes, such as moussaka. I opted for the Chicken Platter and a Greek salad . If eating a meze the dishes are brought out in order of preparation, cold first. This is a traditional way to dine. Greek wines and desserts are also available. The platter was a sight to behold, in hindsight I shouldn't have ordered the Greek salad as there was plenty on the platter. The chicken was delicious, shredded and very tasty. The food was very fresh and simply seasoned. This however was very clever as it complimented the freshness of the salad. Sliced pitta, skin on fries and homemade tsatziki dip also included on the platter. I definitely couldn't finish it all. My only criticism is that I would have liked to see Greek rice as an option, homemade flatbread and there was an overkill of green peppers in the salad. Overall it was a pleasure to visit with a hipster vibe. Ample parking on the avenue at the front. I would definitely recommend. The most popular dish appears to be the Gyros. Go on, go greek!

We came for valentine’s day and were really impressed, the food was really good and big portions. My partner ordered the chicken gyros and I had the halloumi souvlaki, we also really recommend the aubergine dip. Started with CALAMARI to share, with dip. Perfect! My main MOUSSAKA, GREEK SALAD. The moussaka was so tasty and intense , not dry, ate with a Greek salad, plenty of it, enfused with olive oil n balsamic! My guest had Greek lamb cutlets, with salad. Food Fantastic. Wonderful ambience, well chilled, just like the wonderfull Greek people. This was a lunch time service. Go again...U BET!

Nothing short of 5 stars. Not eaten Greek food like this since being in Greece. I think I have a new favourite Hull restaurant. I would defiantly recommend, we travelled 40 miles to visit and it was well worth the travel.

We got there late for our table and they were very busy, so we were told we would only have an hour for our table. Very disappointing... Until half an hour later we were told they'd moved some things around so that our table wasn't needed for the rest of the night and we could have as long as we want! Great service, and amazing food. WETV We visited the Greek today and can sum it up as WETV. It was very WELCOMING. The ambience is light, airy if a little basic. There are extra tables outside. The waiter was efficient, thoughtful, patient and friendly, especially when he realised that I was relatively new to Greek Cuisine. We only wanted a light lunch but he happily added hummus, spicy cheese dip and pitta bread for us to sample free of charge. Two of us ordered a chicken souvlaki and the other chose pork gyros. These were substantial and delicious. We found the meal substantial ENJOYABLE and TASTY. It was well- priced and represented good VALUE. We arrived just before lunch and it was almost empty. When we left, it was full of people. Clearly it is a popular establishment and we look forward to returning.

You should definitely book here, especially for a weekend! The food is honestly so lovely and great prices too. Me and my boyfriend had ordered Hummus and pita, village sausage, Spanakopita, Soutzoukakia and Pork Gyros. All of our food disappeared so quickly I didn't manage to get a picture! Just had one of the best take out meals I've ever eaten! We collected our food from the restaurant, they were very busy but the staff were still friendly and attentive! If you can imagine sitting in a taverna in Greece this is the place to eat. Nothing else to say amazing

We visited this restaurant as a family of 15 for Father's Day we had reserved our tables previously. On arrival all the staff were friendly and efficient. We explained we were early as we had travelled from Newcastle to meet family here so could we wait and have a drink til the rest of the family arrive which was no problem at all to the staff and promptly got us a table even though they were extremely busy with customers. The drinks were a little expensive at a small bottle of mythos greek lager at £4. Peroni/Italian lager was on draught however so that was a bonus. Wine was a little pricey too. The food prices however were very reasonable. Babis introduced himself and was friendly and built excellent rapport about Greece and his time spent studying in Newcastle which was nice whilst we waited for the rest of the family to turn up for the meal. When the family arrived the service was on point from the start with drinks and meals being ordered and delivered within a reasonable time frame all drinks were served at the correct temperature and the food was outstanding and well presented. All staff were efficient and friendly throughout our visit. I will definitely recommend and return to this restaurant next time we are in Hull from Newcastle with all our family. Thank you to Babis and all his fantastic staff and chefs for an amazing meal and great time in your friendly welcoming greek restaurant. It was just like being in Greece with the atmosphere, decor and music...it was spot on. Look forward to seeing you all again very soon xx

They redelivered in the time specified with a free bottle of wine to compensate. The food was absolutely excellent. They only lost the last star due to the first delivery going astray. 1st experience of a meal from The Greek restaurant and considering at this time it had to be takeaway it was unbelievably good. Honest with the delivery time and we found all the food arrived hot and well packed. My wife loved the Soutzoukakia as a starter and my calamari was lovely, the lamb kefte had a great taste as did the chicken gyros.

3rd time we have been and it never disappoints , the food is very authentic and fresh as it can get , every time I go I always want to try the mixed grill but it is a dish for two and my partner loves the vegatarian choices so I leave very satisfied and full but hanker for a big plate of meat .

Had a Monday evening free in July and decided to give this place a try. A warm welcome from the staff and the menu explained. The food is made fresh that day and you can tell. Super tasty and portions just right. Authentic Greek tapas. Will be back to try more of the menu.

The simple but delicious dishes at The Greek are packed with flavour. They pride themselves on using fresh ingredients and if they don't have a great fresh supply then the item is taken off the menu. It is easy to get tapas-sized dishes to share, for example try the aubergine dip with dolmades (stuffed find leaves) or the home made olive bread. There are substantial dishes too, and on a fairly short menu there is something for all tastes including meat dishes, veggie and vegan. The dessert options are few - only two sweet pastry choices when we visited recently - but the coffee and the fresh mint tea are both fabulous. There is a small but selectively well stocked bar and Greek beers are featured. I recommend the rather sweet and thick Fix beers to complement their food, my favourite being Fix Dark. The Greek is a small, informal restaurant that is very popular and is often full so I recommend booking in advance. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly and efficient. Your new favourite restaurant.

My wife and i walked in not expecting to be seated as it was getting late. The staff were super friendly and accommodated us straight away . Had some gyros and home made baklava all of which was amazing . The atmosphere was buzzing even though it was nearly empty. Can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to visit again. We visited for the first time last night, it was really nice, i like good food and they served good food, it was rather loud but it was full too, we had our 4 year old daughter with us also which was fine, the staff were all very friendly and served us quickly, i saw from other reviews that the plates were cleared quickly which made people feel rushed, they were cleared quickly while we were still eating which was the only thing i didnt really like, the food portions weren't as generous as i expected, we ordered more, however the food was delicious!! My daughter had the meatballs which she wolfed down! I would explain this more as a greek tapas style place, i would definitely go back, the owner made sure we had enjoyed our visit as we were leaving aswell which was nice of him, very much enjoyed and makes a nice change to have something different.

The calamari was done to perfection (we all know how it gets all rubbery if you get it wrong!) & in the tastiest batter with a squeeze of lemon & a luscious tzatziki dip, but the gyros took me somewhere else! One of, if not the best choice for lunch in Hull. The Greek is as authentic as they come with its staff and menu, even the decor makes you feel like you're on holiday in Greece. Try some gyros, have a salad, get some dip and some pita, it's all fresh and a healthy option. I was stunned by the waiter's ability to cope with the influx of visitors on a Monday lunchtime, he single-handedly dealt with everyone very politely.
