Both the food and the service here was fantastic. The attention to detail from Kerry was second-to-none. The food was excellent; the lamb extremely tender and the chicken beautifully succulent. The prices are more than reasonable at less than £5 a pint and £15 - £20 per course. The hot meze is ideal to feed two as a starter, and at £20, represents good value in my opinion.

Excellent food and hosts. However, we had a toddler who had just turned 3 yesterday. She couldn't reach for her food or drink when eating. I had to feed her and ended up putting our jackets on her chair to give her a boost so she could reach the table. It's really a shame that they don't have high chairs. I could have given a 5 star however, because of no high chair it has to be a 4.

Headed here for dinner tonight. Staff very pleasent. Had a meat share plate for 4 bwtween 3 as we are big eaters and it was lovely. All the near was so flavoursome and tender. Had sole flat breads so kept making little kebabs! Awesome! Would come back for sure.

Visited for family celebration and really enjoyed. The atmosphere, food and service was excellent. There is choice for vegetarian dishes for sharing and the portion size is really filling. My favourite dish was Mussaka and Ayran for drink! Only downside is parking needs to be at waterside car park opposite and is expensive.

We were very fortunate to get a table without advance booking, and were extremely impressed with the restaurant. We ordered the hot meze platter and added 3 items from the cold meze. The hot meze were delicious and beautifully presented, each one with its own specific dip. My personal favourite was the fried halloumi. The cold meze were also very appetizing, and the complimentary breads went well with the dips we ordered. My son and I both had Efes beer which was very pleasant. The service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant - but make sure you book!

We opted for a large selection of mezze rather than a main. Although all the dishes were excellent, the Arnavut Liver was a standout success. A decent choice of Turkish wines alongside rhe grub. My first time here, definitely not my last. Outstanding.

We booked late with 15 minutes notice (4 adults and 3 children) and the the staff accommodated us brilliantly. The mixed mezze for starters and the mixed grill platter was absolutely fantastic. Both the food and service were fantastic and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the place. Maybe a little more choice on the children’s menu would help but all in all a great place and a very good choice.

Quite simply, a great restaurant. Having not made a booking and seeking as it was early, we thought we would try our luck and they managed to fit us in but advised the table had to be back for another booking in an hour and a half, not a problem for us as we just wanted some food, sharpish! We ordered 6 cold meze and asked the chef to choose, what an excellent introduction. I especially liked the spicy one and also the carrot slaw type thing. The flat bread was to die for as well, we went through 3 bowls for 3 of us! For mains we had the mahzen platter for 4 to split between the 3 of us. The quality of the food was excellent. It had chops, chicken/lamb shish, chicken/lamb kofte, chicken wings and other delights all on a bed of bulga wheat served along side a plate of salad and with a couple of dips. The meat was cooked to perfection and all the accompanying dishes were spot on. Had a very nice bottle of turkish wine (kayra kalecik karasi red), and highly recommended of you like pinot noir or that sort of thing. All in all, I will be back...!

Mahzen is okay, if you're a veggie be prepared for lackuster mains but the starters are good at least. The service can be slow and if you're not a group of women don't expect much attention for the male waiters. Overall the resturant is overpriced for what you get especially in Ipswich but I'm sure these days this is what is classed as "good food" in Ipswich :( .

Delicious as always. My one snag is the table time limit of 2 hours on the weekend, which means you have to rely on fast service if you have a lot of people. We ended up with no time for dessert which was a shame. The starter and main were very good though.

I thought it was quite pricey but I would definitely pay for this again! Great portion sizes. Amazing flavours. Fresh salad and delivery was free! I asked for no butter in the sauce and they missed the note but phoned me to let me know they would make it fresh but will be a little longer. Didn't mind at all. Delivery was still fast and piping hot. Friendly driver. Can't belive I have waited so long to try this place! THANK YOU - WILL BE BACK! Have already told all my friends haha

Always liked Mahzen and tried a takeaway for the first time for my wife's 70th. It wasn't good it was EXCELLENT. Service from Just Eat also worked well and made the ordering process easy. Thoroughly enjoyable meal and would recommend 5*.

Great food and excellent service. Garlic mushrooms and prawn in cheese starters were tasty. Chicken shashlick and mixed kebab were good quality meats, well marinated with ample veg and bulgar wheat. Side dishes and Turkish salad were full of taste. We eat a lot but couldn't finish all that.

Lovely food with plenty of variety on the menu. The starters were a good size but the main meal was huge and we struggled to eat it all. There is also a good range of drinks. Previously when we have visited Mahzen the food and service has been outstanding. This time we were really looking forward to the swordfish steaks as in the past they have been out of this world. Unfortunately this time the quality had deteriorated. My swordfish was OK but my wife's was poor. To be fair the restaurant manager met with us and took our concerns seriously adjusting the bill appropriately so many thanks for that but I do wonder if quality is suffering due to supply chain problems. As a final point I do find it off-putting when the staff all wear masks. They manage without them at ask Italian si you can see a friendly face and enjoy the experience of dining out.

By far the best restaurant I've been to in a while! I called about half an hour before to book a table and they squeezed me and my fiancé in which was very kind of them! We were greeted so pleasantly by staff. The restaurant was very clean and I loved the decor! Our waiters were brilliant! Charlie and Harry! Very happy and funny, knew the menu really well, gave us information about all the dishes. It made such a nice change to see the staff smiling and enjoying work! The atmosphere was great! Also the food I could not fault I only wish I could have eaten more of it! I have already recommended this place to friends and family. I will be going again very soon! :D

We had very late lunch, early dinner here today. I must say that everything in this restaurant was absolutely great! We can't fault it in any ways at all. We are a party of 5. We had a starter each, a main course, a few rounds of drinks each & 2 desserts that the children don't actually need but want.. Our bill was £170 & I think it was very good as the portion was generous & the flavours were amazing. I think this is by far thd best Turkish Restaurant I've been to. Staffs were veey friendly too.

Highly recommended! I went to that restaurant last week with my husband and my little one without booking a table. The staff found us one available. We were served immediately and the food arrived very quickly. The waitress asked us a couple of times if we like the food or if we need anything else - making us feel welcomed. By accident we broke a glass and at a signal 3 people from the staff came to gather the broken pieces and to clean around telling us not to worry and that it happens all the time. Visited as a couple on a busy Saturday evening. Despite not having a reservation we managed to get a table. Starters, king prawns and crispy mussels, we're delicious. It was great. The food was delicious: the sirloin steak was done well and the side of chips were on point; the 4 person platter was excellent, nothing was wasted. The kebabs, the ribs, the rice, all of it tasted great. We couldn't fault the servers. All the deserts looked stunning. The bitterness of the turkish coffee paired really well with the sweetness of the banoffe pie and the chocolate cake. For anyone with less of a sweet tooth, the rice pudding is a great choice, the cinnamon was a great touch. Would definitely dine there again.

I was shocked at the lack of meat provided, i have received more on a 4 person previously. I think that the monopoly effect has now kicked in with this place, shame as the staff and food is spot on.

Had a lovely family day out ruined by the restaurants lack of engagement with families. No high chairs, booster seats or baby changing facilities, despite booking weeks in advance. No mention was made at time of booking either. There was no engagement by any of the staff with our group despite our obvious delight with the authentic food offering. The food was actually ok but it unfortunately was barely lukewarm when it arrived at our table. The beer we ordered wasn’t available on draft and the first choice of wine had “sold out”. As the bill was £120, I also expected a level of service and hospitality and that was not reached. Will not return.

My Friends and I visited Mahzen in October 2016. It was around 8PM when we arrived and our order was in at 8.15. We ordered 3 mixed grills and a Chicken shish. The price of the mixed grill is £16.95 and the chicken shish £11.95. We waited an awful long time for our food to be served and we questioned why this was. The waiter informed us a member of staff was absent and they had just put a large order on. We were given some taster starters on the house for the long wait. Our food arrived at 9.15 and was delicious. A real authentic seasoning had been applied to the meat and was served piping hot. Food prices were representative of the quality and quantity received. If your not a meat eater then the menu is limited. Good place to eat if you like a bit of a meat feast. Im sure the staff numbers will be corrected soon. If your thinking of going, give them a ring to see if they have enough staff on, an hour wit for food is to long.

Don't over order... We visited here for dinner whilst on a business trip. As we could not decide we chose the Mahzen platter for four, though there were just three hungry men... Even we had a little leftover. The platter had a great meze of grilled meats, vegetables and bed of rice all served with an accompanying side-salad. The service was with a jolly smile. This family owned restaurant is recommended - booking highly advisable.

Fantastic Turkish food. Great quality kebabs and done on a dining level rather than a takeaway level of quality so well worth the price. Dining inside was really nice layout and great quick staff.
