Compliments to the waiting staff and the chefs! We were very well looked after (2 adults & 2 young kids) by super friendly staff and the food was yummy!

Just had our Xmas lunch here and it was excellent. From the initial meet and greet to the food and to us leaving 2 hrs later, everything was faultless. Lunch was absolutely delicious, we could only manage three out of the four courses ( had to take a rain check on the coffee but managed to squeeze in the mint chocolates 😁). Compliments to the chef and kitchen team! The waiting staff were attentive and our courses weren't rushed making our lunch time spent at the Oyster Reach very enjoyable. If Xmas lunch is happening here in 2021 we will definitely be coming. Would highly recommend. Well done !

Recently visited for breakfast again. The staff especially Shane and Julie were great and accomodating. Lots of people in for breakfast but still managed to fit us both in, which was brilliant. Very warm, friendly atmosphere, food was a very good standard. Have recommend The Oyster Reach to loads of people.

Three starters and four mains from the lunch menu for under £40 is great value. Potato dippers were the standout, a lighter option to loaded skins, all the taste without the heavy potato. The rump steaks exceeded expectation, no fatty parts or gristle. Nothing left on the plates at all. Skinny fries loved by the children, triple cooked chips enjoyed by the adults. Salad was fresh, spot on. Ambience was pleasant, not too busy midweek though enough to have some background buzz. A very good experience.

My partner and I were out for a ride on my motorcycle on Sunday to Alton waters we passed the Beefeater on way there and decided to stop on the way back and I'm very glad we did it rounded off a brilliant day out. We were seated quickly. I want to mention our waiter (Josh ) he was brilliant, took an interest in our day out, made the right amount of conversation, he was very polite, made sure everything was good with our order and quickly got our drinks and refills. As someone that has worked in the industry he would be someone I would have wanted working at my restaurant. Menu choice is excellent. It was nice to see food on the menu that were similar to what every other restaurant does but with a little difference. My wife had the slow cooked roast beef which looked great and she said tasted excellent the roast pots and Yorkshire where brilliant. I had the Tabasco chicken burger with fries. I think it was really really good. Loved the flavour it was well presented neither the burger or the fries were greasy which again is good to see. I was offered more fries because the are free refill!! I wanted to leave room for desert. My wife had the crumble with custard which was well presented and tasted really good. I had the trio of sponges with ice cream which tasted incredible. Shame no refills on the desert. But I was full. The cost was similar to other restaurants I've been to when you look at the menu in comparison. But the main thing is the food is great. Quality of food to cost ratio is definitely balanced well. Everything was very clean, table,cutlery, menus and salt and pepper grinders. Really impressed for such a busy place. The bad part which was the carpet upstairs could do with a new one. That's it! Thank you again the beefeater and Josh for a brilliant experience.

Large seating area. Staff are pleasant. My only negative is the portion sizes are on the small side. I recently ordered the smothered chicken and the meal could’ve done with being at least 20% bigger. The portion of coleslaw was tiny. I will think twice before returning.

Booked a table, got there and was seated straight away, server came up and took our drinks order while we chose food. A gentleman came in quite a while after us ordered a drink and food. We were still waiting for our drinks when the gentleman got served food and drink before we'd got our drinks. We had to ask the server if we were actually going to get our drinks let alone our food order. The server actually asked if we'd already had our drinks... duh no glasses on table might be a big clue. ...... After the day we'd had was close to walking out. . Food arrived and was lovely but they need to sort this out... Not even an apology. Makes us reluctant to visit again seeing as how this was our first visit turned out...

Disengaged and unhelpful. Many things on menu not available, or arriving not as described. It was for a birthday get together so we made of it what we could. And Harry helped with that. We are from the area, so this place is known and has been frequented before. Practical for meeting up with family. Unfortunately this time a let down.

Odd that there was no salad, and that fries were served instead of what the menu described with the smothered chicken dish, which was chips. This was for 2 meals. They were enjoyable though apparently. For my meal the chips were not triple cooked that's for sure with my fish. The fish was crummy and lovely and hot. A little side salad would have been nice with my starter, mushrooms in breadcrumb just to make it more appealing than a few fried sliced mushrooms on a plate. Aesthetics is everything.

Have some haddock, but too oiled for my taste, and too much batter, the fish itself is very small quantity. Good Stella Artois beer. Menu for childrens. Good selection for dessert. Quite disappointed with this restaurant. I'm not familiar with Beefeater restaurants and was looking forward to our lunch on our visit. The service was good but alas the food tasted as if was taken straight from the freezer and microwaved. The portions were not that big either, sadly the price paid did not reflect the quality of the food unfortunately. I've eaten far better recently at other establishments.

We had no problems parking - the carpark is a good size. The staff were friendly. We ordered from the Christmas menu and the food was really good. Cooked perfectly and really tasty. I had a lovely dessert and a costa coffee too. The seating was comfy and our table was reasonably private. The only negative was that on the evening that I visited, the women's toilets were grim - the worst I have seen.

We mostly come at Saturday lunchtime, so at less busy times your experience may vary. That being said, we've been here several times over the past year or so and it's been fine. Not excellent, but not terrible. Service is polite but often slow, food is fairly good in itself but mains are often served lukewarm. We ended up leaving before dessert today because we ran out of time to eat it. Tables and toilets are clean. The menu they've brought in this month has black text on a dark grey background, which half of our group found impossible to read - bring a magnifying glass! It's OK, but could be much better with some more attention to detail.

Booked a table online, but as we were running early I also phoned to ask if we could arrive early and was told it wouldn't be a problem. On arrival we were greeted promptly, shown to our table and given menu's. However we were given no instructions on how to order so after sitting for 15mins I asked a passing waiter how we should order he said someone would be with us shortly and after a few minutes more a waiter did come and take our orders. The drinks came after another 5min wait. My partner and daughter were given glasses for their bottles of coke but curiously my can of drink did not. Not a huge problem but it would have been nice to have been asked. Anyway after another 10-15 minutes our food came of which everything was correct apart from I asked if the pineapple could be left off the Griiled gammon which it wasn't. The food itself was good and hot but I did feel for the prices we were paying there wasn't an awful lot on the plate. Nobody came to check if everything was OK and when we had finished it took me finding someone so I could pay. All in all the place felt as though it was under-staffed as the wait for staff to attend was longer than necessary. This all left us feeling the experience was not good value for the amount charged. We will not be returning I'm afraid.

Stayed at the Premier Inn for one night over 4th March. Accommodation was comfortable but the room was cold. No central heating just a small wall heater. Had my evening meal in the adjacent Beefeater Restaurant. The food was good pub grub, as I would expect served to me by a very helpful 5022 Denise S. Staff wasn't friendly upon arrival, ask me and my friend wanted breakfast. We said we wanted two coffees her response was " TWO COFFEES, TWO COFFEES. OH. not sure what the fuss was about. Manger needs to give staff further training on customer services on how to speak to people. Was very unprofessional and very rude. Then over heard staff talking to another staff how we came in for coffee. Cause people nowadays don't go to pubs/ restaurants to order just coffee?

Having only reopened 3 days ago due to Covid closure, it was awesome to be some of the first customers to be welcomed back. Attending with my son and husband we were greeted with first class service by Sean the manager and looked after by Linda, a lovely waitress, throughout. The kitchen staff did themselves proud with top notch food. My husbands steak was cooked to absolute perfection as was my sons chicken/ribs and my luxury beef and panchetta lasagne. Rang to book on a Friday night, pleasant staff on the phone - informed me I was able to use a Tastecard if I had the app. Arrived nearly 15 minutes late due to not knowing the area, table still wasn't ready when we arrived. Partner ordered paprika chicken - was very happy with hers. I opted for the double short rib and maple glazed bacon burger...Very nice, thick burgers. Not cheap ones like you get in some places - very weird to have a minced beef and cheese sauce though - a little too much meat for me if I'm honest. Chips were lovely though, as were the jalapeño poppers.

Can be a bit hit and miss. One time everything fine. Next time (with large group) had to wait for my main whilst everyone else had theirs, then when my meatballs arrived they were still frozen in the middle. Staff are always happy and polite and food tasty, although not the biggest portions. Not too many veggie options but they have a good allergy folder. Will return again to see what happens this time! UPDATE: Returned and everything was fine with the food. Just wish they would clean the glasses properly. N.B. If you have the 'bottomless' chips make sure you ask for a top-up in plenty of time as ours turned up just as we finished our main course.

Read and heard mixed reviews so was a bit apprehensive about going and was pleasantly surprised. They were fairly busy, but went we walked in there was someone there to greet us in less than 1 min, we didn't book a table (3 adults + 2kids) and got seated upstairs. The lady that served us was very friendly, approachable and made us all feel comfortable. Food was really good! Roast beef was delicious we asked for rare and rare we got it! Buttermilk chicken burger I had it with cheddar cheese instead of stilton and it was delicious. Kids loved their pasta too. For desserts I had the apple crisp and it was amazing...I could've eaten a whole tray.of it!! There's some outside seating that i'm sure I'll be back to try when its warmer!!

Great reception staff with banter, took us to our table no problem. Easy to read menu, attentive waitress, food came out lovely and hot, the mixed grill (A pub classic) was lovely (They even cooked the chicken fillet moist so it won't get stuck in your throat!). The dessert menu was easy to make a decision. The rocky road sundae is a must for any given sundae!

Went with family for a evening meal, staff very helpful, got a deal on the kids food so it wirked out quite cheap, overall food was good quality, they have air conditioning as it was very hot outside and the temperature inside was perfect. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is the beer was awful, I had to return 2 pints of Stella and 1 pint of San Miguel as it was undrinkable, the staff agreed and I ended up drinking Pereti which was ok.

Was staying in the Purple Palace so the obvious place to eat. Not been into a Beefeater for awhile but the pub is pretty standard. Didn't start off well with the bar making my drink wrong and the waitress not checking. Food was great though - sticky duck wings as a starter followed by a ribeye steak. I have nothing to complain about. One waitress was a little pushy - trying to force feed me a dessert and trying to explain that a sticky toffee pudding was the same as an apple crumble - really??!! The other was lovely.
