Simply the best kept secret in Suffolk for a takeout lunch. Jenny only serves the freshest, homemade ingredients and creates such interesting, healthy and delicious savoury and sweet delights. You simply must visit and try.

Just visited for the first time. I was looking for a takeout salad that wasn't supermarket brought or subway...something fresh with actual flavour... I wasn't t disappointed!! I had a medium salad with a bit of everything. The portion was generous and they really packed the container! Absolutely delicious! Glad I picked up a loyalty card! Excellent value too! :)

What a lovely cafe, friendly and helpful staff, very cheap and delicious food. I enjoyed a tasty soup and my husband had a veggie sausage roll. We also took advantage of the takeaway salad bar and bought a chocolate brownie as they looked so good.

I have been using St Nicholas Deli for 3+ years, I have never had a bad experience there, without fail the quality of food is excellent, the service is quick, the store is clean. Apart from their lovely sandwiches they have tasty salads, soups, baked potatoes, homemade cakes/sausage rolls/scotch eggs/ to tempt you. The loyalty card, where you get one free sandwich for every 7 purchased, is a bonus. Great place for lunch!

Have visited here a few times now after having basically lived on 'chain stores' (you know the ones...) packaged plastic sandwiches meal deals. Popped in here one lunch time after hearing some amazing reviews. I was not disappointed. Beautifully fresh sandwiches, made to order in front of you. Don't like one of their suggestions? Change it and have exactly what you want. My favourite - Brie, bacon and avocado ciabatta. All served by the friendly owner - and with a loyalty scheme also you really can't go wrong. Holding an event soon and will definitely be going to these guys for a quote.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough, easily the best sandwich shop in Ipswich with a great range of sandwiches and a nice twist on the salads which goes away from the standard lettuce and cucumber and brings to the table pesto pasta and giant couscous. They also do jacket potatoes and soups which are perfect for this time of year. I also have to thank them for introducing me to grilled halloumi.
The loyalty card scheme is another touch of class as it rewards you for repeat visits which are hard to avoid once you taste the food.
In case anyone thinks this is all made up you can find me in here most lunch times where i will happily ratify this post and you could get a really tasty lunch at the same time

Whenever I need to buy lunch, I usually pop in here. Great selection of panini toppings, the option of having it toasted and usually there's some homemade cake for sale too. Today, I had the best millionaire shortbread I've ever had (not exaggerating!).

Always a great sandwich - pretty much a Carmen on ciabatta for me every time.
I would say that it lacks a little bit of atmosphere with the current owners. It’s not a criticism as such , it’s just that the previous owners and staff were more extroverted.
Maybe even just some music would help.

Great selection of sandwiches, soups, salads and nibbles, fiendly staff, Private Eye to read if you need to wait or eat in, Radio 6 music. Whats not to like.
Good loyalty scheme too. Unfortunately I only get there a couple of times a month.

The service is fast but extremely busy during lunch periods.
The sandwiches are excellent - they were popular for the generous fillings provided however I cannot say that now as I and others have noticed a significant change in the portion size.
