The Sunday deal was great, but it was a bit hectic. The food was lovely and nicely presented but I was a bit disappointed with the strength of my curry. I wanted it to be nice and hot like I ordered but it was actually very mild. Staff were doing their best but seemed too busy to spend any time with customers

This is a second visit from our first on my birthday in August. We chose the Sunday special, it was absolutely lovely , tasty , normal sized portions with a drink included . The only drawback was that my partner would have liked his hotter in taste, the waiter mentioned at the end of the night how to ask for this with our next visit, of course we will take his advice. My dish was, in my opinion a tasty and flavoursome hot dish. We are talking hot in taste not hot in heat! Lovely setting. We travel in to this restaurant so have to stick to the one drink unfortunately. Staff attentive and friendly. Seem they do a good trade on takeaways, they were busy.

Went with my wife and another couple - first visit for all of us - and we weren't dissapointed. The food was excellent and really good value for money. The only thing we could pick fault on was the lack of attentiveness from the staff when we wanted the bill and to pay - no-one asked if we needed anything or came back to take our payment when we eventually received the bill. Nor were we asked if we'd like another drink or a sweet.

We had a lovely meal here. The food was excellent, a really huge menu with plenty of choice. I had a recommendation from the waiter of a chicken and spinach curry, which was delicious. The naan bread (large) was huge and so tasty, the best we have had in ages. This is a great Indian restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

I’ve just had one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had, and this is coming from a curry fanatic. The naan was, well a naan, good but not exceptional. The Nagha Tarkaari was however, sensational! A wonderful blend of spice and flavour, not padded out with onion and peppers. To top it all, a really, really reasonable price. If you’re in the area you MUST go there. Ps Cobra wasn’t too shabby either!

Excellent. I travel extensively through work and eat curry’s across the Uk. This is a real gem. Original recipes , great service , quietly polite staff (could be construed as aloof although not intended ). No sign of oily or ghee heavy . I had a lamb Nihari and my wife had a chana and paneer Balti. The paneer pakoras were some of the best we have eaten . Highly recommended and close to the village hotel (where we stayed)

Always had a good meal whether eating in or taking out. A bit of a delay last night on collection but nothing too major, just made the granddaughter hungrier. Good choice on the menu and nicely cooked. Probably the best Indian restaurant in the area.

Very good Indian food, best I know of in the area. I have been many times and will go again. Plenty of cramped seating in the restaurant, the food is also available to take away. Toilet for customers only. I wouldn't get the poppadoms and pickle tray starter they offer, it's overpriced and the pickle treys are kept between customers and brought out again and again. Overall though the place is excellent.

A great eating experience plenty to eat and real quality. Definite value for money, would recommend highly. Staff were exceptionally friendly and the service was excellent. It was my daughter's birthday and they brought out a birthday cake, unexpected, which was 'the icing on a lovely evening'. Thanks we loved it.

Didn't get off to a very good start as my friend tried to order the mango lassi which I must note was on the menu and available only to be told to order something else as 'it would take too much time to make'. Our group spent around £200 at the restaurant, which was a good price for 9 of us for the amount of food we got. The starters, the curries, sundries and drinks were all good quality however some wrong orders were brought to the table that were meant for other tables. This was quickly rectified so we were very appreciative of that. I would return.

Hadn't been here for a long time it won't be long before we are back. Best curries we've had in a very long time garlic nann is to die for, it was a little more than we usually pay but was well worth it. Highly recommend.

Very good food, attentive polite waiters,excellent value. I've edited this review as it now a while since this restaurant opened and it is now running much smoother. It wasn't bad, but now it's better. Two courses couple of rounds of drinks £25 per head including the tip. Can't go wrong. Since the covid lockdown, dinning out is banned. However today 27/6/20 we used the website and ordered food for delivery. Our order arrived in a timely manner. And ive got say the quality was first class.

Decided to give this new local restaurant a try and went there on a Sunday evening. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't fault it all. The staff were helpful and friendly but not overbearing. The drinks were reasonably priced, not a rip off like in some places. All in all a very enjoyable meal and a place we will definitely go to again.

Food was average I'm sorry to say. I've enjoyed takeaways before and they have been delicious so I thought I'd try eating in. I was advised by staff the meal I'd ordered was medium spice, however it turned out to be very mild and lacked flavour. Sorry but I was disappointed.

Not much to say except, this is my goto curry house. Its not a slop house, the food really is good quality, the staff are friendly and helpful. The best thing, some might say is the pricing, compared with other curry houses (not the slop houses, which I never use) in the area its cheaper. If you're a good curry lover, you can't go wrong.

Went here as a plan B after original restaurant had to cancel booking. Rang 30 mins before and they had a table ready for us upon arrival. Friendly staff made our visit wonderful. The selection and quality of food was superb. Worthy 4* rating.

What an absolute diamond.. We called for a late bite after the kiddies panto.. Great service, lovely staff.. The food? 5*.. I love stuff I've never seen on a menu and I was spoilt for choice.. Finally tried the mixed starter for two.. Arrived on a sizzler skillet on a bed of fried onions. Huge onion bhaji, chicken pekora, seehk kebab, chicken tikka and a lamb chops each! Followed this with the Gate of India Flavour and a garlic nan.. Absolutely wonderful flavour and a large portion. Will definitely be calling again... Maybe a smaller starter as I couldn't finish all the main...

In Leeds for the weekend, staying at the Village Hotel south, we walked down to The Gate Of India for a meal, the restaurant was well presented and clean, the staff were polite and welcoming...and the food was absolutely beautiful, absolutely recommended , one of the best Indian meals we have had in a long time...
