Always driven past and wanted to visit. Decided to go for my fiancés birthday. Booked online. Friendly staff and sophisticated atmosphere. We were sat upstairs for our initial drink and then moved downstairs to eat. Two different menus for upstairs and downstairs. Unfortunately our service was slightly lost during the transition from up to down but it was acknowledged and we received a free cocktail each. I enjoyed Pate for my starter and my fiancé enjoyed her breaded mushrooms. We would recommend the lamb and linguine for a main course. We shared a brownie for desert. We would definitely visit again for an occasion in the future.

Excellent food and you can book a table with a choice of inside or outside, which is handy in summer when most places just make you fight over outside tables! Had a brie and bacon sandwich and truffle fries, which were sooo good! Followed by a delicious banana cheesecake with rum ice cream. Washed down with a couple spritz cocktails. This place lives up to the hype. Outstanding food and ambience. For brunch I had the Trio - 3 immaculately cooked poached eggs! Also the parmesan fries are a must.

Was ok, food was appropriate to the price charged. Unfortunately they brought the wrong dish for my wife. Not a problem but were asked if we wanted it instead, it would have spoiled the meal as my dish had arrived and we didn't want to wait any longer. We didn't complain as we hadn't been out together for months, it just made for an average experience overal, nothing special.

I’m sorry it has taken me so long to write this review but time moves too fast. I ordered 5 Christmas dinners from Heaney and Mill which I collect on Christmas Eve together with full instructions on how to cook them. The meals were fabulous from the starter to dessert and the snowball truffles. I can’t thank Heaney and Mill enough for making Christmas day so fantastic and stress free. I can not recommend them enough. The restaurant is great too.

Lovely menu, staff and decor, however we inadvertently requested to sit upstairs, if it was on the website that this was the uber-expensive part of the restaurant we missed it! Upstairs is very expensive, with a relatively limited menu range, fine for me as the sharing main course (beef) was delicious, but no chicken which was a disappointment for one of the party, and fairly limited and ludicrously expensive vegetarian option (gnocchi), although this was reportedly also delicious. We enjoyed the meal very much but ouch the bill for upstairs was high, which is fine if you know what to expect. A great venue for an extremely special occasion.

Overall was a good roast dinner- lamb and veggies were great, the truffle mash was amazing. Unfortunately the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and the gravy was quite watery. Service was slow and they appeared to ignore us a few times, so service could definitely be improved.

Excellent experience. We had a table for 8. We had a primary waitress who was helpful, friendly and professional. She checked up on vegan and veggie options for us. When the steak for two option we had ordered was sold out we were offered the more expensive option for a 60% discount on the normal premium. We had 6 different meals between us. They all came out at the same time and everyone highly rated the quality. For example the fries were all piping hot and perfectly cooked. We also had a celebration cake and they allowed us to have plates and cutlery to eat it. Several draught lagers and IPAs were available and tasty. Despite the table for 8, no service charge was automatically added. Everything about the evening left us feeling positive. It wasn't really all that expensive either. Well worth a visit

Lovely evening out. We were warm under the heaters and sheltered from the rain despite booking a table outdoors. Georgia was very attentive and looked after us. My wild mushroom and truffle risotto was lovely and very filling!

I came to the sitting rooms restaurant purely by coincidence on the opening day, the food was incredible there were three of us and we had Sunday lunch. Wow, if you look through my reviews you will see we love our Sunday dinner it's our favourite meal, so it must be pretty special for me to say wow and boy was it, I literally had tears in my eyes eating the last mouth full lol, superb quality throughout and the service first class and to top it off we enjoyed our drinks outside in the sunshine. This is a very nice place to go for either lunch or an evening meal. Food is very well presented. Staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. Furniture, though, could do with new seating as they look rather tired, then again the place has had a lot of good customers over the years, especially celebraties of all calabria just take time reviewing the photos on the walls. Yes, well, worth a visit. Parking is across the road, though, at a pay and display...

The lamb was cooked just right, still pink in the middle. Roast potatoes could have done with a bit longer in the oven to crisp up more, but actually it just wasn't as fluffy as I would have liked, needed some more starchiness! Don't they look a little bit anaemic? We were in for a proper treat though, we had potatoes two ways! The mash was nice and smooth. The vegetables were cooked just right too, though it was just a stick of carrot, a few tiny measly bits of broccoli, a cauliflower floret and a cabbage leaf? The yorkshire pudding was divine and lastly the gravy was thick, full of flavour but was lacking in quantity! It was a nice and clean presentation, the meat was good but the whole meal was just lacking in a few departments.

Having had breakfast here last week which was so delicious, headed back again this week for lunch. A 2 course lunch from the set menu didn't disappoint! The brownie dessert was IMMENSE! The atmosphere was really great too for our anniversary meal, the evening felt really special. Was in Leeds for my Daughter's graduation and had a meal at Heaney & Mill. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was fantastic. All home cooked and I could have pretty much had the whole menu. We came back in the morning for a brunch before heading home and thats was just as good. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I have been to Heaney and Mill a number of times and always had a pleasant experience. However, I recently booked a family lunch for my mums 70th Birthday, I called the restaurant on the 3rd November for the booking on the 27th November. I advised the table would be for 6 adults, 1 five year old and a baby but we needed space for a wheelchair and a pushchair. Upon arrival to the restaurant we were placed on a rubbish table near the bar with zero space for the the wheelchair and was advised there were no notes on the booking that a wheelchair had to be accommodated. I was extremely annoyed by this as the person on the phone confirmed they had made note of our requirements. They eventually moved 2 tables next to us as there were no other tables available for the time of our booking, we had more space but this definitely out a sour taste in my mouth as it was meant to be a special occasion as I felt we were just shoved in the corner. Also, there is no basic Children’s menu which if children are allowed to dine there they are also not accommodated for, a basic menu of a child friendly burger and pasta dishes would go a long way. Overall we spent over £160 everyone enjoyed their food, my mum’s 70th wasn’t ruined but I would definitely think twice about booking again for a large party or if space for a wheelchair is required. Oh and the toilets were freezing as it was snowing on the day of our visit.

Ate out here for a belated birthday meal on a Monday evening. I had the brie to start, seabass mains and cheeseboard for dessert, my partner had brie, lamb and banoffee cheesecake. Good place, a little way out the centre but good rotating Italian menu. Breakfast very poor, over toasted bagel. Basic really. Impossible to cut into even with steak knife. Staff are excellent, attentive and kind. No qualms there. Food, the most important part is good. Fresh and served hot. Decor inside is very poor, needs to be thrown out and refreshed if this place is to (if it wants to) move up in the ranks. All in all a good place that is let down by the decor and the money spent on it really

Love the improvements they've made for sitting outside, would suggest adding glass or perspex at the back of the seating areas where pedestrians pass by, would help with the draught & noise from the road, they could even have the restaurant name inscribed on it. Apart from that great restaurant, keep up the good work & great food. :)

Love this place. Elegant setting, despite being located in Headingley or 'studentville' with well trained waiters / waitresses. Steak and egg breakfast is consistently perfect. The accompanying Bloody Mary was oddly too spicy on my first visit and lacking alcohol on the second visit, despite the £7.50 price, which I considered expensive, particularly for a cheeky breakfast tipple. Overall, I really like this place and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Absolutely fabulous. My friend was very kind and ordered me one of their lockdown take away Sunday lunches. They were lovely when I arrived. Unfortunately, the meat was swapped, but when I called, they sorted this out really quickly. The food was perfect. One of both the most yummy meals and most filling Sunday lunches I've ever had. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you!

Lovely food! We had the taster menu which was great. Each one perfectly formed and delicious. My only complaint was that it wasn't that filling, but perhaps that's not the point in this case, I was just quite hungry. They also have a great selection of beers including plenty from Northern Monk brewery. I'll definitely be visiting again.

A friend booked a table for 5 of us for an evening meal and none of us had been here before but we will definitely be going back. Good food & a relaxed atmosphere. Staff willing to help & found us another table when my Dad (90 years old) struggled with the table we'd originally been given. I'd recommend booking as the restaurant is popular due to the excellent food. The place can get a bit loud & if you end up with a seat in the back room (as we did) then there are no windows or view. It's not dingy though & you don't go for the view anyway. The prices are reasonable - not cheap but not wildly expensive either - &, as I've already said, the food is great. There's a small car park at the back which we've always managed to park in but I would imagine it gets full pretty quickly. There's another car park opposite (across the road) but I've not used it so can't comment. The restaurant is becoming something of a Sunday favourite of ours & we will be going back.

Fantastic food and cocktails. It was a great place to sit and people watch! The staff were very attentive. We sat in the window and with it being a sunny day it did get very warm, thankfully the drinks were topped up frequently ;) The food was served on a plate not a slate or chopping board which was appreciated.

I think serving 18 people in one go must be pretty tricky for a restaurant but it went perfectly and we were all very happy with the food and service. Great! Just called this evening for the first time after resisting the allure of the interior decor. Meal and service was fantastic. My boudin noir and scallops were melt in the mouth. I decided upon the vegetarian main of wild mushroom dumplings so worth ordering even for a die cast carnivore such as me. We shared the cheese platter to finish our malbec then shared the rhubarb tart. No let up of caring quality cooking there, a crisp pastry, tart rhubarb and oaty almost granola topping. Well done superb meal we will return.
