Reviews of Manjit's Kitchen

Come here after watching a review on rate my takeaway by Danny. All i can say is WOW. The food was fantastic the spice was perfect and just an explosion of flavour in your mouth. You have to try this if your visiting Leeds! I will be back again.
We had a pakora and a chilli panner wrap and shared a bhaji between us.

Summary: Fast service, great food. I ordered the masala dosa which is very enjoyable for a light lunch. The dosa was crispy as it should be, the potato filling was nicely flavoured and the sambar hot, coconut relish added the finishing touches to make it taste authentic. I didn't get a chance to see if they were still serving beer, maybe I'll find out next time.

I tried the paneer chilli wrap on Saturday and it was amazing. There was a big queue and I can see why. Wholesome hearty food! I will defintely come back to try more. Staff also super nice and food arrived fast even though they were busy.

One of the best thali's I've eaten for the ridiculously low price of £6.50.

The best chilli paneer wrap I’ve ever had! An incredible lunch spot and great for veggies and vegans. Also sell some nice beers too. Served with a smile which makes a visit even better. My favourite of the food places in Leeds market

I came over the bank holiday for lunch and the vegan 2 curry thali was everything, utterly delicious. If I'm in town this is my go to for quality food at a great price and I actually love what they've done with Leeds market for a community space. Love this place!
A. V.
Been here a few times and every time it's been excellent. Food is great and keenly priced. They even sell decent beer! Service was excellent - and friendly with it. Think that there's also an offshoot in Kirkstall Road now, haven't been but it's on the list.
C. B.
Hidden gem in Leeds market. High quality street food served in generous portions. Even the draft beer is good. Pleasant ambience

Recently went wedding dress shopping in town with my mum so naturally, I visit Manjits in the market and order her a 3 curry thali. She was absolutely blown away by it. There's nothing like it where she lives. Her final comment - "your dad would love this. Next time we visit Leeds we'll come here". Then when I told her about the Kirkstall restaurant she just said "perfect"!

Great Indian/vegetarian food in Leeds city centre.
All the food was really delicious. Good value for money and left us feeling full. Lots of different options to try too!
Would highly recommend if you're looking for a quick/cheap meal.

Brilliant, the paneer wrap is incredible. A Leeds institution. We are so lucky to have Manjit.

Located in the food court in Leeds Market. Really good food, fast and relatively cheap considering you get a range of elements served. Would like it if there was a bit more salad... seems a bit sad to look at. (Was still a little hungry with 2 curries, best go for 3 or get some other nibbly bits)
You collect food to the left of the stand and there is a trolley in the same nook where you place your trays once finished.
There's also a self serve water station at the store front.

If you want tasty delicious food with great service then you can't go wrong. It is a class above the norm.

Leeds’s finest lunch = The Manjit’s Kitchen Thali. Heroic stuff every time
C. L.
Chilli paneer wrap. Thin rolled naan, filled with marinated chunks of paneer, carrot salad, tamarind, red onion, raita pickles, coriander - absolutely bloody delicious!! Definitely recommend them to anyone in Leeds. They're also really friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be going back.
C. R.
A lovely place in the market to stop for a quick bite. And of course the owner is a Twitter legend - what's not to love! :)
J. A.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great food. Fresh and tasty. Would 100% recommend!
T. M.
Brilliant street food nice market place. Would recommend the chilli paneer wrap great taste.
T. R.
Had some excellent vegan food here. The Mrs and I have Thali and dosa with masala chai, all brilliant. Dosa was wonderfully crispy.

I always swing by Leeds kirkgate market for my hit of Manjits when I'm in town. Great good, great service 👌
Z. W.
Tried the Pakora wrap and it was amazing! Perfect meal for grabbing on your lunch break and good value for money. Customer service was great, both staff were so friendly and I can't wait to try more of the menu.

Went for a lunch.....ordered a thali with 3 curries, 1 samosa and 1 masala chai.....chai was ok.....samosa filling had very little spice....thali was 6£.....the quantity is just sufficient on the borderline....daal was good.....aloo gobi was good.....chole had very little spice....chapati was served with butter which was good....1 spoon of raita/something weird was given on alternate days.....very little salad!!!

We were a bit early to leeds but wanted something indian for breakfast, so we went to Manjit's Kitchen. They were closed but on request Manjit served us samosas and channa curry. My dad loved the samosas so we did a take away aswell. Do try their Mango lassi and Indian thali. It tastes yum. Highly recommend.
A. S.
Affordable, north indian style spicy food. Best for tasting indian food in Leeds city center..
G. M.
Consistently amazing food, nice beer, great service and ridiculously good value - I love the street food part of the market - eat your heart out Trinity Kitchen it's way better at Kirkgate...Manjit's is the best - food that makes you happy :)

I enjoyed it. My first time trying this cuisine.
In my opinion it resembles Mediterranean-Turkish cuisine a bit but with amped up spices (lots of spices).
T. H.
Banging no nonsense grub
M. W.
Really great thali served on metal trays. I always get three curries with bhaji, I'd recommend you do the same. Great for a quick but varied lunch in town. Seating is quite limited but there always seems to be just about enough, I've never had to wait for a seat.
T. H.
Fab food and incredible versions of your favourites. Authentic.
A. C.
We come back here again and again. Lovely selection of food and a real treat.
J. A.
Great food, great people and they care a lot.
N. M. B.
After hearing about this I went to to try today. I see it was quite clean .Staff is also cooperative and helpful. I paid 4.95 for Indian Thali. Taste did good but I was bit disappointed with Quantity of it. It was very less I would say not more than 6 to 7 table spoons for each curry with very limited quantity of rice with one chapati and one 2 to 3 table spoon to salad. Taste good but quantity not at all sufficient hence rating 3.
R. F.
A Leeds Institution if ever there was one! Great Vegetarian Indian Street food at great prices, a must visit. All served by lovely people. You can also get local craft beer too. **Don't forget a new place is on the horizon so keep a lookout**. I can't wait!

I had the best Vadu Pau experience :)
M. R.
Very friendly lady working the orders and till. Three ladies working the kitchen. 3 curry mixed Thali was absolutely brilliant, great flavours of the curries. Fresh bread tasty rice. Pakora wrap was very tasty in a fresh thin naan bread. Mango lassi was also creamy and flavoursome. Will certainly return and will be trying the restaurant at Kirkstal when it opens...
D. S.
Absolutely delicious!!! Arguably the best place to eat in Leeds. To any newcomers, I would recommend the pakora wrap and manga lassi, you will NOT be disappointed.
Z. W.
The chilli paneer wrap is a definite 10/10! So delicious and filling. Looking forward to trying the rest of the offering!
F. P.
Delicious all vegetarian (some vegan) Indian street food. A firm favourite with Leeds locals situated in the market, watch out for their soon to be opened kitchen and bar after their recent successful Kickstarter campaign.
D. N.
Walked past and couldn't ignore the delicious smells. I had the pakora wrap, and it was really tasty, really cheap, and really filling. Great value for money. We got a free samosa in honour of international women's day.
J. L.
We were a group of six and the staff were very welcoming and personable at our arrival.. The food was quite creative and modern. However we waited for a whole hour for the main dishes to arrive and were late for the event we had planned to go afterwards.
J. M. W.
As a committed meat eater it takes something special to make me go veggie. The chilli paneer wraps are quite frankly amazing. Try one and you will be hooked. There really aren't many better things to do with your lunch hour.
A. F.
This a great informal place for fun tasty good value Indian street food. Menu changes everyday. Lovely staff. Give it a go you won't be disappointed
M. D.
Excellent thali, just the right amount for a lunchtime meal and very competitive price. I have eaten thali in India and the UK and Manjit's is way up there at the top. Would highly recommend!
M. S. T.
I like the food but i am only giving 3 stars because since 3 days they have the same dishes on the thali at kirgate which is a bit weird. I am having allo ghobi and chole masala and only the Dal changes. I think the veggies should change as well.
J. P.
Amazing food and value. Get the thali plate with onion bhajis you will not be disappointed!
G. D.
Absolutely fantastic place, amazing price and great food, lovely staff I will die for them all x
J. G.
Excellent vegetarian food at bargain prices. The £10 special with a Thali (or other main), onion bhaji and a pint of superb Ridgeside beer is unbeatable!
A. T.
Incredible taste!!! Vegetarian and vegan, the girls are so kind. All handmade, one of the best vegans in Leeds.
Totally recommended.
s. m.
Tasty food, reasonably priced and fair service ( not overly friendly but totally fine as the staff were very busy). Had the special and onion bahji. Will go back.
R. L.
Amazing food and amazing ethos!
J. B.
Went to Manjits kitchen last Friday and ordered a Pakora Wrap. It was fantastic! Really good service and top quality food. Would highly recommend you to try them, such a friendly bunch!

BEST OF LUCK TO MAMJIT AT THE FOOD AND FARMING AWARDS. WE ARE ALL WITH YOU!
The star of food stalls in the market. Great staff. Great food. Mint and ginger tea is warms the body and soul.
J. C.
Amazing fresh, umami, spiced flavours and sone modern Anglo twists on traditional recipes. Good service with humour and little bit of cheek! Highly recommended.
P. G.
Genuinely delicious. Highly recommend everything in the menu, in particular the wraps!
P. B.

Sooooo tasty - brilliant value & amazing curries. Worth going to Leeds Market, just for these. Can't recommend enough !
R. H.
Really tasty curry but way too skimpy on the rice (and salad).
Left feeling hungry despite ordering the 3 curries dish!
C. N.
Been here many times and never been disappointed. The bhajis and samosas are excellent but it's the ever changing thalis that keep me coming back.
L. J.
Fantastic food, memorable menu and convivial atmosphere. The service was sufficient and efficient. Would go again!
J. S. J.
Engine Street Food at its best. The paneer wrap can get very messy so handle with care - you've been warned.
S. B.
Had a chilli paneer wrap. Very good for £6. Flavoursome and delicious.
G. N.
Very Reasonably priced, Good Quality and Tasty Indian Thali in the city centre. Highly recommended.
